Yahoo has taken over my opening in firefox preferences. Firefox does not take into account my opening Web preference page

I've always had Google in my opening http url. But now, Firefox ignores everything I put in, for example the URL of Google, and every time I close firefox and re open it changed this preference back to force me to open Yahoo. I'm on a mac

The only thing that worked for me was to go to about: config.
Find the name preferably... Browser.Startup.homepage,
Dougle click value, and then type in your homepage starting with http://

  • Firefox does not take into account the settings in/etc/hosts Mac Mavericks

    Firefox sees only the first entry, defined in/etc/hosts to 127.0.0.1.

    Basically, Firefox does not see the changes to the DNS entries, that I made in/etc/hosts. Chrome is. However, later, I noticed that Safari is not to see them. After troubleshooting below, I solved the problem by moving all my/etc/hosts statements to different lines according to them here: http://www.justincarmony.com/blog/2011/07/27/mac-os-x-lion-etc-hosts-bugs-and-dns-resolution/

    I have no idea why that works. But it does not resolve the problem for Firefox and Safari.

    I have tried a number of things according to this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1011327

    I tried many things (typing about: config in the address bar):
    Set keyword.enabled false
    browser.fixup.alternate.enabled set to false
    tour of DNS caching.

    None of these things worked, but did all my config/etc/hosts the migration of multiple domains on a single line to separate lines. Hope this helps someone.

  • Firefox does not take into account options made in the print preferences box. How to solve this problem... Please?

    I need to adjust printing to 65%, then select a setting on the printer of non-standard. When I select PRINT, the preferences box is presented to the user, but the changes are ignored. Firefox is simply using the standard settings. How can I overcome this problem please... Please...? Thanks for your help

    Hi Peter, is the problem with a PDF document? Financial sites generally use a PDF research reports and statements which need to have a very controlled format. Usually, you can tell that it is a PDF file, because the document will have a toolbar customized with its own print icon. I think that in this case, dialog layout Page of Firefox is not used because the document is already pre-formatted. But I do not know why the preferences would not work in this case.

I looked at setting the parameters of crash to ask what to do at the start, but it would never invite. I tried to delete the sessionstore.js file (although there is no obvious problem with it). None of them gets by Firefox, eager to resume the previous session.

  • Firefox does not take into account CSS rules that I put

    So, if you look at my site:

    http://leaveyourdailyhell.com

    In, say, Chrome and Firefox, you will see very different things. In Chrome, it seems I had intended; namely, the messages loop custom WordPress on the first page and the top of each "message" has correctly sized thumbnails, floated to the left. In other words, it obeys the CSS rules that I set. (And copy CSS I have, for the record, W3C validated - it came back perfect.)

    In Firefox, however, both of these div tags ignore CSS rules, I put. No floats; the images are their original sizes and, on the same page, where the band positions is supposed to have a custom background, it is not found. It is not even obey simple rules, such as the assignment of a custom color for the links. When I right click to inspect the elements, the CSS rules are not found!

    (And copy CSS I have, for the record, W3C validated - it came back perfect.)

    The validator displays 30 markup errors, 50 CSS3 CSS3 231 warnings and errors. The experimental unified validator returns 1763 CSS3 warnings.

    My presentation of a list of records to a MySQL database in groups of fifteen years in the following pages > > and > arrows to move the page form to "Move to the next Page" and "Move to last Page" server behaviors. Everything was going well until my list went the third page, while Firefox refuses to acknowledge the existence of the third page. Netscape and IE7 behave perfectly.

    Alan and anyone else who reads this. The problem is resolved. After the computer has restarted FF has now got its act together and is grateful to the third page.

  • Firefox does not take into account compatibility of Windows 8 for screens high resolution.

    I recently tried the Windows 8.1 Overview, but then restore my machine Windows 8 again.

    Before that, the first time I installed Firefox, it ran at low resolution, if the toolbars and the content appeared huge and blurry. I fixed that with the disable display Windows 8 compatibility setting timing of the high DPI settings"

    After resetting the device and reinstall Firefox, it's new to be blurred, so I changed the compatibility setting again, but this time, nothing happened. Even with the setting on, Firefox ignores. Other programs with this setting works very well, and Firefox worked fine the last time around.

    I was advised in Windows support forums to ask the question here.

    It is better to adjust the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref to get the size of the icons in the correct user interface.

    If the web pages must be adjusted after changing this pref so you can watch the extension Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint.

    This extension allows to adjust the font size for the user interface:

  • Firefox does not take into account the formatting

    Just made the mistake of Firefox reset. Could recover all my favorites, but now some pages aren't formatted correctly (see attachment). It is as if he is ignorant of the CSS or javascript. I have ESET. The attachment is the stack overflow, which I use all the time so it's really annoying.

    When I visit the homepage, the main stylesheet StackOverflow is loaded from this address:

    https://CDN.sstatic.NET/sites/StackOverflow/all.CSS?v=7f9acf8065f0

    If you click this link, what you get? A normal load is a giant wall of text from:

    You get an error message that could shed light on why it isn't loading?

  • xdg-open does not take into account the url and opens the different website when Firefox is the default browser in Ubuntu

    I am running Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit with Firefox version 38 for Ubuntu
    It is complected, and I tried to explain everything clearly.

    Today, I noticed a strange behavior.
    I have several URL saved as .desktop files.

    I use webupd8.org as example.
    The code for the exec in the desktop file is:
    Code:

    Exec=xdg-open http://www.webupd8.org/

    Today, I noticed that if I try to go to webupd8.org, or most of the other sites, by launching the .desktop file for this site, or by typing the url
    Code:

    http://www.WebUpd8.org/

    in the dashboard Firefox opens to a completely different site. The site that opens is a site that I set up for my children's grandparents to watch videos and see photos of the children. This Web site opens each time. I'm not be directed to a site at random each time. This is the case when I try to visit the webupd8.org OR one of several websites using .desktop file or enter the url you want in the dashboard. Whenever I went to my own domain.

    It happens that I have also several sites registered in a reminder in the Firefox icon in the Launcher sidebar thing in Ubuntu.
    In the case of the beast, the exec code is slightly different and it still responds as it should. In this case, I have:
    Code:

    Exec = firefox-new-tab http://www.webupd8.org/

    Also, if I change my default in opera browser, for example as .desktop files and entering the url directly in the dashboard work as it should.

    To recap:

    When Firefox is the default browser, enter a url in the dashboard or use a to surf to a desired site .desktop file causes my be redirected to my own domain name (which is hosted remotely and not on this computer).

    If, however, I change the Exec command in the .desktop file
    Code:

    Exec=xdg-open <url>

    TO
    Code:

    Exec = firefox-new-tab < url >

    the .desktop file will open Firefox and go to the desired site.

    If I change the browser by default Firefox to another browser, everything works as it should and has always so far. That is, with the Opera for example, both
    Code:

    Exec=xdg-open <url>

    and
    Code:

    Exec = firefox-new-tab < url >

    result in the browser by opening and going on the planned site. Typed a url in the dashboard is not a problem if the default browser is not Firefox.

    Anyone seen this before? If so, how to solve it?

    Thank you very much for your answers!
    I checked the url of the home page in Firefox and it has been set at startpage.com, but then when I looked at the default programs in Ubuntu, I noticed that the default program for the web had been unintentionally configured to use a .desktop file that leads to t he admin for my Web site login page.

    I changed this back to Firefox and the problem was solved.

  • Firefox 4 does not take into account of my "do not remember the password setting" for netflix only website and connect automatically. Any help on this? Thank you.

    Under Tools settings, remember passwords, there exception to remember do not sign of netflix in, but every time I come back, even if I closed and reopened firefox, it connects me always. I unchecked remember passwords nothing helps. However, netflix seems to be the site only problem for this.
    Running windows 7, 64 b, firefox 4.01

    What you did to close all tabs with the Netflix site on it if before closing Firefox?

    Otherwise restore session puts the cookies and they are still there since the previous session.

    You should also let the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

    Saved passwords are important if there is a password on the page form and that the form is filled automatically or after typing the first letters of the name.

  • Time machine does not take into account my partition which is case-sensitive.  Recovery has no data of this partition.

    I have a partition on my drive that is formatted for OS X Journaled, case sensitivity.  When I perform a backup, then recovery, all data in this partition is missing.  Time Machine does not recognize partitions of case-sensitive?  Strange, as the default format for Time Capsule itself is case sensitive.

    You cannot use the formatting case-sensitive with OS X. You will need to repartition the drive to Insensitive in full. You can not do any repairs or restore from a backup Time Machine.

  • How can I get Safari as browser: yahoo has taken over

    Yahoo returns constantly as my default browser on my computer and I spent in the preferences/general systems and validated it States Safari.  How can I get rid of Yahoo.  I have OS X Yosemite

    Hello

    First of all, get rid of Yahoo itself. You uninstall yahoo yourself by entering the programs folder in the Finder, or by a program like AppCleaner or clean my Mac. Then you choose to uninstall. Make sure that there is no trace in the sandbox as well. Then, he must return to the system settings and set Safari as your default browser. Personally, I recommend a program like own to my Mac to uninstall these aggressive programs because they suppress each bit in any directory.

    Hope this helps

  • Firefox does not display the images on most Web sites. I can't see the pictures of the products on Amazon or the thumbnails on my Yahoo home page.

    It is only a problem on my home office and is not a problem with IE. It must be an option, I can change, but I'm not.

    Help, please.

    See:

    • Check the permissions for the domain in the active tab in tools > Page Info > permissions
    • Check that the images are enabled: Tools > Options > content: [X] loading images automatically
    • Check exceptions in tools > Options > content: Load Images > Exceptions
    • Under the tab "tools > Page Info > media ' for blocked images (scroll images)

    There are also extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) that can block images.
