Yosemite and Fusion 7 - very very slow

Hi guys,.

I have a problem with my iMac with Yosemite and Fusion 7. Everything works fine but I have very poor video performance. My VM work if I move the cursor of the mouse ONLY. If I don't do anything it stops to run everything! It seems to go in standby mode! With Mavericks and Fusion 6 it was perfect! Any help?

Tanks!

You have fallen on an Apple bug, which affect all programs of hypervisor running on Yosemite on iMac mid-2011.  Apple is aware of the issue.

You can work around it by opening the Terminaland by running the following command:

sudo nvram boot-args = debug = 0 x 10

Then, restart your Mac.  Merge should then perform normally.

See you soon,.

  • Windows 8 slow since upgrade to Yosemite and Fusion 7

    Hello

I was previously running Windows 8 pro in Fusion 6 on the Mavericks. I had the computer virtual configured with 2 processors and 4 GB of RAM. The main applications that I use in Windows are:

    • Visual Studio 2013
    • SQL Server Express
    • SQL Server Management Studio
    • IIS Express
    • Google Chrome (for test and debug with Dev Tools)

This configuration has worked completely fine, almost as good as a native Windows PC. I've recently updated to Yosemite and Fusion 7.0.1 and upgrading VMWare Tools.

This has caused significant performance with my setup problems. More particularly:

    • The action I perform more is switching between VS2013 and Chrome (alt - tab), it was absolutely perfect and was virtually useful instant switching. Now that the same process can last between 1 and 10 seconds.
    • Chrome opening tools now takes on average about 5 seconds.
    • Doing an update of the DOM in the Chrome dev tools now takes a few seconds.
    • Attempt to inspect a DOM element (via the magnifying glass icon) now takes a few seconds.
    • Even switch between the tabs in Chrome now takes anywhere for 10 seconds, which is simply ridiculous. I never have more than about 5/6 Chrome tabs open at any time.

All the these was practically instantaneous in the old configuration.

All these things combined to me are totally unacceptable. Although they are all only small amounts of time on their own, when they are added together, it leads to huge amounts of frustration and ultimately of loads of useless waste of time.

I did used to close any unnecessary background applications/services, I increased the CPU to 4 cores and 6 GB RAM. Still no significant improvement.

To move a configuration which worked incredibly well and then supposedly "redevelopment" and end up with an installation that is considerably longer important are very frustrating. I'm hoping that someone somewhere has encountered something similar and may suggest something that I can do to make my setup get the somewhere near where it was before.

    Thank you very much

    Lee

Stop your virtual machine and change the mode of your material from 11 to 10 and restart your virtual machine.  Your performance should be back to what you expect.  Merger has MAJOR problems with equipment of level 11.

  • Exp and Imp are very slow

We have a system in version 9.2.8 leagcy and export and import are very slow. It takes almost 3 hours to 30 GB of data. Is there a way we can do it quickly? HELPPP me.

    EXPORT:

Set the buffer setting to a high value (e.g. 2Mb - entered as an integer "2000000")
Set the RECORDLENGTH parameter to a high value (e.g. 64 KB - entered as an integer "64000")
Use DIRECT = yes (direct mode export)
Stop unnecessary applications to free resources for your work.
If you run multiple sessions of export, ensure the different physical disks, write.
Do NOT export to a mounted NFS filesystem. It will take forever.

  • Microsoft Update maintains the search forever and pc becomes very slow

    Hi all

Last week did a cleaning installation (windows 7) on my old laptop.

(the material is not good enough for an update for windows 10)

At the beginning everything was fine and some updates have been installed.

However, after the installation of "Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x 64 systems (KB976932)" the trial was kept updated search forever and the laptop became also very slow.

While windows searches for updates, the process "svchost.exe" develops very quickly in the memory usage and fills after a few minutes the total RAM.

I tried various corrections (see for example the you link below), but none of the solutions worked for me: (.)

    http://superuser.com/questions/951960/Windows-7-SP1-Windows-Update-stuck-checking-for-updates

For now I have disabled the update, but this isn't a permanent solution.

I hope that any body could help me solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance!

P.S. I also added a picture of the history of the update below.

In addition, the laptop is an acer aspire 7715

Please try the following: set never 'Find updates' automatic updates and restart. Download and install KB3020369 and KB3161608.

  • Photoshop Extended CS5.5 and XP sp3 VERY SLOW

I reinstalled Photoshop to erase mistakes.

    Windows XP is fully updated.

Disk is regularly cleaned and defragmented

But work in Photoshop is VERY slow, with many process just hang for several minutes.  Mini-Bridge sometimes fails completely.

Running on a processor Intel Pentium (r) of 1.73 GHz 2.00 GB RAM and 40 g free workspace.

is this box simply too old and helpless for the PS to function well on it?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I would say that a slow and small system will hinder the performance, but it shouldn't really be things to stall for minutes at a time.  I guess you could be using his RAM and going virtual...  Is the hard drive on more or less constantly when this happens?

That said, I have an old laptop with similar specs that you describe, and I wouldn't dream of trying to get real work done in a modern version of Photoshop on this system.

You've spent hundreds of dollars on the new software.  It's probably time to move to a modern operating under a modern operating system computer.

    Original title: date of restoration

An automatic download occurred.  System is very slow.  Runs in safe mode.  No date of restoration can not enter in safe mode, time in normal mode.  Cannot run the system restore.

    Hi Jim,

    1. you did it any recent hardware or changes to software on your computer before this problem?
    2. the automatic download is produced through Windows update or any application?

    3. What do you mean by "is running in safe mode. No date of restoration can not enter in safe mode, time in normal mode. Cannot run the system restore'?

    4. what happens when you try to start in Normal mode?

    5. what happens when you try to perform the system restore?

    6. do you get an error message or error code?

  • Resolution of screen changes back back when switch between Yosemite and Fusion 7

Upgrade to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro has forced me to also upgrade to Fusion 5, who had been very stable and problem free. Unfortunately, I knew a behavior very boring to the resolution of the screen in my virtual session of Windows 7, when I toggle between Yosemite and the virtual partition of Windows 7. Any time that make a screen resolution change and change over on the side of Yosemite, when I return to Windows 7, the resolution returns to the default setting of 2880 X 1800, which requires a magnifying glass to see! Does anyone else know this? I couldn't find a thread discussing this problem, but I know that yosemite is new.

In addition, since it is clearly a bug, can someone tell me the best way to report it to VMWare? I'm sure they want to know about the bugs, but I don't know the best way to report them. They were very helpful when I discovered how hard this upgrade to Yosemite before checking to see Fusion 5 was consistent (if not) was a mistake on my part - they got me on track, and even if it's a bear to learn how to get a live person on the line with VMWare site Once I did, I finally got a guy who nailed - Kudos to their technical support for this team.

    Hello Glenn

Try to disable the support of the retina by going to

    1. Virtual Machine menu > settings > display. Uncheck the use full resolution over Retina display.

  • 7 fusion works VERY SLOW on the GM of Yosemite

Basically, Fusion 7 is unusable on GM from Yosemite as 7 fusion is so slow.

When I was still on the Mavericks 10.9.5 Fusion 7 worked just great. That's happened?

Is anyway that I can fix it? Or do I have to wait for an update?

Same thing here... registered just to comment on this issue.

I meet the same problems of poor performance, use of the core processor 1 power with VMware Fusion 7 on and off as well as Parallels Desktop 9 has the same behavior.  The problem is random, because sometimes I'll run a virtual machine in the app and it will work normally, other than that it is a used CPU and the virtual machine is extremely slow - especially if you do not keep the window in the foreground.

This question seems isolated to the iMac and final Yosemite 2011.  I had this same behavior in one of the previous public betas of Yosemite, some, it feels like an issue on the side of Apple and not one which on VMware.

Edit... Apparently this problem may be related to these particular Mac NVRAM preferences, and they say running sudo nvram boot-args = "debug = 0xd4e" should solve the problem.

  • Repositioning of the areas of text and objects is very slow...

I've just updated for CS4, CS5 and dislikes the "live preview (don't know what else to call it)" objects and text boxes that you move with the direct Selection tool. The movement is very unstable and it is difficult to align the guides and the edges of the document. I changed my screen to typical and even tried on fast and still get the same results. I use a new i7 iMac so I can't imagine that it's a hardware problem.

Is it possible to disable it and make function more like CS4?

Go to edit > Preferences > Interface and screen Live drawing change it.

  • Can not dial AOL and broadband is very slow.

I have a 2 year old Toshiba laptop.  Recently, he has been making slower and slower when it is connected to the internet.  Yesterday he could not dial the number of AOL and said that he had no dial tone.  However, if I listen carefully, I can hear the familiar beep and recording that says "If you want to make a call Please hang up and redial."  (this is what happens when a phone is off the hook)  Anyway, frustrated, I went to my neighbors who have broadband service, and the laptop is slower than molasses when on the internet through their broadband services.  The laptop works at speeds normal when not online.  I tried system restore to an earlier date... no help.  Then I reinstalled the entire system and still can not dial AOL.

Any help would be appreciated!  :-)

It is a symptom of severe infection so start by analyzing carefully:

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all shops are skilled at removing malware, and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will have to be properly installed. If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.

  • Hi my daughter has purchased more Adobe school, that it was downloaded on my macbook 10.68 and it is very slow - I want to put it on my IMAC but obviously, it's too expensive and too big for the transport to leave the school for their Ministry at downolo

Hi can someone help.  my daughter branch subsequently adobe from the school and put it on our old macbook 10.6.8 the old computer that is slow.  I bought a new iMac and would like to transfer to.  It's new 10.10.           It is difficult for the school to do what I can not easily take in the iMac and leave it at school.

You can probably download the software yourself.  Simply get the serial number to activate it should have access to if she paid for it.

  • My ThinkPad T61 VERY VERY VERY and I mean VERY slow at the start why?

    Hello

I just bought ThinkPad T61 brand new, for $500

    Speed: 2.0

    Memory: 2048

I mean this should be pretty quickly.

in any case, it takes about 5 to 6 min just to start upward and its windows XP Server 2003 with Service Pack 3

and I only have one installed program, its air and nothing else, the computer is still slow like that, even my 2 friends bought the same computer and as slow as mine, his

and if you guys wonder why its cheap, because in my University they sell it at this price for everyone (even the poor guy) to buy a good laptop for a good price.

So what do you of the problem, my friend told me that his perhaps because of windows server 2003 with SP3, but I do not know, and when my University gives me the laptop, they don't give you a CD format, so it's saying I can't get it back to the original Setup, but I think to buy a new CD the problem I can't find XP more, every store I see have Vista only.

so do you think I'll buy Vista so I could have a fast computer instead of a SLWOOOO, and if I go to Vista, is touch pad, the track point and the finger print thing will continue to operate, (I want to say is a drivers for windows Vista)

I know I write a lot, but please help me guys to get the best out of my computer.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Congratulations on your new Thinkpad! And Yes, it will be fast enough.

I would suggestt to uninstall Antivirus like Norton or to get an update for Norton 2009.

AntiVir and AVG are doing a good job too. Uninstall firewall thirdparty, if it is installed.

If you install Vista then, we will work all programs. Install Vista and download the program

    Homepage of Lenovo system update.

It will install all the necessary drivers for you, even for XP, if basic a copy.

For more information, read own Vista installation NB guide

    Or XP clean installation guide

  • Why Apple does not provide a 10 W charger with the air of the iPad 2 when the barn of the computer and hundreds of people on the web say he needs a 12 W charger because Apple has changed their software and 10 W very slow iPad charges.

Why Apple does not provide a 10W for I pad air 2 charger when the barn of the computer and hundreds of people on the web say that the 10 W does not work and it takes a 12 W charger.  Burning of the computer told me that Apple has changed their software on the iPad and now requires a 12 W charger.

So you're claiming Apple is selling iPads with a charger that doesn't work?

A charger 10W works perfectly well. A 12W charger can be slightly faster to load under certain conditions.

  • I just downloaded firefox and it works very slow, taking a few minutes to change screens when you click on a Web site.

I am unable to use firefox at all. It takes so long to do something after the first web page loading. Once the first page laods, it freezes and takes a few minutes to do anything

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

One possible cause is security software (firewall, antivirus) that prevents or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.
