Z230 LTS: G1X51ET: 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, but what type of ECC or non ECC shipped wih the G1X51ET?

I got a Z230 SFF (G1X51ET) with 8 GB of DDR3 ram, but don't know if it's not ECC or ECC.

What type is the G1X51ET contain, it's always the same type that is shipped?

Or how can I check that myselvess?  Found nothing in the BIOS or in Windows System.

Thank you

You can download HP Performance Advisor and run it on your Z230, then read the configuration report and determine the type of memory DIMM is installed.

    I currently have 3 072 (2 048 + 1 024) MB | maximum extension: 8 192 MB / technology: DDR2 RAM (800 MHz)

    And I was wondering if it could be upgraded to 4 096 (2 048 + 2 048) MB / DDR3 RAM (1066 MHz).

    Hello!

No, you can upgrade to t mobile with DDR3 RAM. The point is that these modules do not fit into the RAM slots, and they have different specifications.

If you want to upgrade the RAM to 4 GB, you must purchase DDR2-RAM. You can buy each desired production, but I have good experiences with the Kingston modules.

And you already know the requirements for the 4 GB? You need a 64 bit OS to use it! ;)

Safari maxes in a version of Mac OS x.  New version of Mac OS x would be needed for the new version of Safari.

Firefox is not limited within an OSX and probably has a version that works.  Chrome may as well but is a Devourer of resources.  Opera is a third option.

Can I upgrade it to 4 GB to 8 GB (16000 Mhz)? or I have to buy 1333 Mhz RAM.

    Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your computer:

    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c04319064

It uses 2.58 GHz Intel Pentium N3530 with Intel HD graphics card which is a trail Bay processor therfore all you have a mchine chich 1 location: DDR3 1333 MHz Dual Channel Support (DDR3L-1600 demoted to the)(Bay Trail processors) DDR3-1333

You can use 1600 MHz RAM, but it will be automatically upgraded to 1333 MHz.

Your laptop taken in charge by 16 GB of RAM but only DDR3-1333 not DDR3-1600. DDR3-1600 would probably work, but he would go to the slower speed.

  • dv5-1225, I'd like install some new ram, but before that I buy everything, new bios will take ddr3?

I have a computer laptop dv5 - 1225-ca and I want to increase the ram, however, I have lived many resources and nothing indicates firmly that this laptop will not accept ram ddr3, however came with the laptop RAM is ddr2. RAM DDR2 is twice the price now adays since it is not developed much since the new age is almost compleetly dominated ddr3 so I do not suspect the price will come down soon, im just curious to know if I should replace stand sims with ddr3 with the update of the bios most recent will be I fine id prefer not to pay for the higher price until I tracked down an answer and im not going to pay for ddr3 ram just set my curiosity incase it dosnt work

    Hello:

DDR3 memory does not work in a motherboard with DDR2 memory locations.

Memory is not compatible and to stop people to settle the poorly rated DDR memory, they cut the slots in different places.

So, if you want to upgrade the memory of your machine, you need to stick with the memory modules DDR2.

Use the Crucial memory scanner to determine what type of memory you need.

I can not find the specifics.  I think the DDR2 PC2-6400 and your page of plug product indicates that you can install up to 8 GB with a 64 bit OS.

    http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

So it's the laptop DDR2 memory that I use for the installation of 2 x 4 GB.

Of course, prices have increased upward. I think the last time I paid for these chips they were $45.00 each.

  • Failure of HP 700-056 of ram? 16 GB PNY XLR8 DDR3 1600 2 x 8 GB PC3 - 12800 Non ECC 240 p

I have a 700-056 want 64-bit running windows 8.1. After removing the original ram and substituting 16 GB PNY XLR8 DDR3 1600 2 x 8 GB PC3 - 12800 Non - ECC 240 p, machine does not start. Two attempts resulted in empty screens. When finally got error message, it was something about "invalid signature" or such nonsense no layman could never understand. This memory is supposed to be compatible with this machine. What new memory is deleted and reinstalled old memory, the machine functions normally. That is what it is?

    Hello

First try and boot from the new RAM module 1 stick and see if it boots, if not then try the same procedure with the key, you don't try and see if it boots. Could be a faulty stick of RAM and if so, you will need to send it to the supplier.

  • use 64-bit for what is faster our pc or games? using 64-bit 4 GB ddr3 ram can I fast performance or using 32-bit 4 GB ddr3 ram also gives the same speed?

    Hello!

I am a bigger fan of microsoft and want to work with you all but my age is not perfect for working with you all, so, for now I just know every thing about windows...

    (1) use 64-bit 4 GB ddr3 ram me gives better performance than 32-bit...

    (2) is of 32-bit is good for the day of work and game performance...

    (3) I am using windows 7 ultimate

    Thanks for the answer...

With only 4 GB it is not to change to 64-bit because it actually uses the more than 32-bit ram.

  • Dell OptiPlex 760 ultra small form factor possible to add ddr3 ram?

    Hello world

I have an old OptiPlex 760 ultra small form factor, and I just installed 10 windows, which runs most of the time without a hitch.

This OptiPlex 760 has a processor Intel Core Duo E8600 in there. I've been googling and if I understand correctly, this processor supports ddr2 and ddr3 ram. Does this mean that I can put ddr3 ram in this machine?

I also wonder if I add more than 4 GB of ram to it. I know officially it says max ram supported is 4 GB, but if I look at my MacBook it says max supported ram is 8 GB and I have 16 GB in it.

So I wonder if this is the case even with my OptiPlex.

    Thank you.

I put ddr3 ram in this machine?

It depends on the chipset and since Crucial offers only DDR2 RAM for this system...

It may or may not work with more than 4 GB. Look so all about these forums to see if anyone succeeded with more than 4 GB. At the very least, buy it from a source so it takes 8 GB does not work.

  • Installed new ram, but more noise beep on log-in

    Hi all

I asked a question about two hours ago on what type of ram to install it on my laptop:

How to find tension to new ram memory

After he replied (thanks, Ogelthorpe!) I crossed the street to buy. I bought, installed and turned on my laptop but unfortunately when I first started all I got beep three times then pause for three seconds constantly repeated that.

3 beeps of death MacBook Pro - YouTube

I had to open the back, remove the battery and reinstall the ram. I found it to be a tight fit and that he had not slipped on. When I restarted it again, I had no problem. I wanted to check if this is the case whenever I turned off the laptop and he did it again and it was. However, when I simply restart the laptop, there is no that. My laptop is to save memory as being installed. I tried to reverse each ram slots and I had the same problems. I did not a ram at a time, but that's my next step. I cleaned inside the laptop and my laptop for recording the ram every time after that I have remove the battery and try again.

I must return the ram, if no problem since I'm able to. It's the ram, I've had because it was what they had worked on my laptop:

    Hi @minxfiles ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

This is a good place to find answers and advice!

You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums Learn how Post and more

I understand that you have 6 GB of ram and it is only readable 929 reading.

Just to be sure you're correct DDR3 ram installation?

Installing the chips of RAM, they must be of the type suitable and properly matched.  You can have 2 @2 for 4 GB of ram or 2@4 GB to 8 GB of ram. To have 6 GB of ram, you would need 1@6 GB to 6 GB of ram.

If you have added a 4 GB of ram with the original 2 is it came with, it is very likely what is causing the problem.

    Good luck!

  • I have a MBP of 2009 end. I updated the material to 8 GB of ram with an SSD of 240gig. I want to run the new OSX, but is not on the list approved for the update. Anyone know why?

I have a MBP of 2009 end. I updated the material to 8 GB of ram with an SSD of 240gig. I want to run the new OSX, but is not on the list approved for the update. Anyone know why?

It is a decision that was made by Apple.  El Capitan is the newest OSX that will support a 2009 MBP.

This is not uncommon.  My 2006 MBP came with Tiger, but is limited to OSX Snow Leopard.

Old hardware ends up by becoming obsolete with newer technology.

    Ciao.
