Z5 failure full Compact

Hi all

I've had my Z5 Compact for a few weeks now. He had light use but seems to be rather warm. It froze right up on top of me and completely closed. Now, it will not witch on and it will not connect to my PC - no charge light or light transfer, nothing.

Any ideas? It has just overheated?

OK, a hard reset was back up and running. For now...

  • How to get Outlook Express to stop and you will invite to compact your emails when closing.

My wife and I use Outlook Express on our machines at home for e-mail (OE is his primary e-mail program, I use it for a secondary e-mail address).

When we are done with the program and you want to close, we are always invited to compact mail folders.  I prefer not to do it while I had problems with files compacted in the past.

Is it possible to change a setting in Outlook Express to stop inciting us to compact the folders of our mail?  I looked through the tools and other areas in Outlook and still found nothing.   Help, please.  Thank you!

You can't turn it off, and failure to compact surely will scan your message store sooner or later.

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

Compacting your folders periodically is a must to keep OE works fine and at some point, you may lose all your saved messages if you do not. When you delete or move messages, the space they used remains until you compact.

Never touch anything until the compression is finished.* *.

    See:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

With SP2, Automatic compaction in the background has been removed because of problems he has caused. Now, you will get a prompt to compact after 100 closures of OE, you need to do, and do not touch anything until it's finished. If you compact manually, at your convenience, this will also set the counter to zero. See this for more information:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

If you are fully patched, you will now see a copy of your dbx files copied to the Recycle Bin as BAK files. If something goes wrong when compacting, the messages can be easily restored from this backup. A compact manual resets also the counter in the back of the registry to zero now.

For more information, see the information framed in red here:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

To keep things running smooth and harden faster:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. It will eventually become corrupt and you may lose mail. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    And backup often.

  • Rescue and recovery X 1 Win10PRO carbon

Just got a X carbon 1 and modernized to win 10

    1)

Wanted to use the system to make a picture, but I got

ERROR: "there was a failure while compacting the virtual disk on the backup location. (0 x 80780151)

    Googled around, bu tno solution.

Anyone know when it will be solved?

    2)

And another problem. I am IBM and Lenovo user for several years, and the best backup system I've ever used is the rescue and recovery. After getting my new X 1 carbon with 8.1 Pro I upgraded to 10 Pro and if you come for the Lenovo of installation I clicked for works RandR 4.52, which proved in the software Lenovo, but unfortunately it download, unpack and then stops. Without any news. So I started the Setup file myslef, and... my God... it can not be installed!

    I'm angry.

Why Lenovo not tell us this? And if she came, when is it ready?

Lenovo Solution Center, if you use win8 or win 10, should offer NOT RNR as a backup option.

If would be nice if they removed the advertising, "it takes a HDD to take backup more," store here.

To win 10, I would like to start off the coast with a windows image backup.  Apparently, windows launched LSC backup, and you got the return code that you noted in the initial post. Backup Windows runs fast, but it lacks many features of RNR.

I would like to run windows backup from the Control Panel, which you have done already. Some of the windows backup return codes and error messages, can be deceiving.  Check the EVENT VIEWER after windows backup error, to see if other return codes are present.

Example: "you do have not enough free space on the device target to perform a backup' RC = 0 x 00000.

Further, the question was NOT enough free space in the lecteur_systeme windows backup staging a zone index for vs.

I would check the available in System_drive freespace.  This can be a hidden partition.  You need at least 200 MB freespace.

A google search of the return code that State you have many successes.  I have try the backup, check the event viewer for VSS fail return code, which is passed back to backup windows.  If you have a VSS error, I would google search on the return code from VSS, windows backup not the return code.

  • site to site vpn cisco 1811

    Hi guys

Two sites are on connection MPLS and things work fine. Is now looking to connect a second ISP and create a failover site-to-site VPN. If the main ISP goes down (in the case of a power failure full at the ISP level which is unlikely, but just in case) then MPLS should failover site to site VPN which will be completely on a different secondary ISP. Can someone provide me with options as if I have to use ospf, bgp and ip sla? If the follow-up involved how can I follow the MPLS? is it even that track just interface or any special routing required? etc and... your help is greatly appreciated... Thank you...

    Hello

It actually depends on what is already at work.

I usually do with IP SLA is not running Routing Protocol, OSPF, BGP are always my first option.

IP SLA parameters should be the same, just point to an available IP address accessible through the main connection and follow your routes using this instance.

In terms of VPN, make sure the encryption card is on the secondary interface, and it should do.

  • High EC of Reed-Solomon on 887VA with VDSL

    Hello

I recently implemented a C887VA-W-E-K9 router to connect to Vodafone fiber 80/20.  This is my first time setting a circuit xDSL from scratch on these routers, so I don't know if the config is 100% good - but it works anyway (much to my delight).

After a break-in period initial of unexplained CRC errors & header and chronically low download speeds (~ 6 Mbps download, download 19Mbps) the line seems to have "settled".

Despite said we would most likely be able to move because of our remoteness of cabinet 50Mbps, the router reports as possible synchronization regularly on 73Mbps and speeds in the 1980s.

Although nobody complained of any problems in the Office I know, I see the values of Reed-Solomon EC persistently high in the statistics for the VDSL controller.  The fact that the rest numbers are zero makes me think that it should not be as important?

Here is the result of sh controller vdsl 0, took about 30 minutes after I deleted the counters on it:

As you can see - the County of Reed-Solomon EC is already in 107 824 and he operates a rise into the millions.  It doesn't seem to be constantly special to him.

I've been in contact with our broadband providers who do not really able to help and insist that if we use the BT Openreach modem before our router is not a supported configuration.  Vodafone are also telling them the same thing when she was refitted.  I have also been told - I don't think - that the 887VA cannot support VDSL of 80/20, but the CPU on it barely exceeds 15%, even with the CBAC and active IPSEC, it seems pretty meaty.

Vodafone also gave me a load of settings which don't (I think?) apply to VDSL-e.g. VCI, VPI and VC-Mux/VC-based multiplexing?  I see no way to put these on the Dialer0 interface, and the ATM0 interface is administratively down as he used it.

Anyone can shed some light on this?

Is our "noise margin" too low?  A MTU mismatch cause this kind of problem? (currently I have no explicitly set MTU settings, and sh int shows like 1500 - which Vodafone said also we should aim).

I want to emphasize speed wise I ran speed trials consistently show download speeds ~ 70Mbps and download of ~ 18Mbps and there is no desync I've seen - so just what is causing these numbers of Reed-Solomon EC does not have a negative impact on the line or the quality of the service.

    Hello

In response to user889988, it's a very good point, suggesting an upgrade to the modem FW as Cisco has worked with BT to produce a specific code for UK trade.

    The fix is well documented and you can search;

    automatic operation mode

    internal service

    Modem ukfeature

Flash the firmware file name: [name]

BUT in this case, it is not necessary, 887VA have been shipping for a while (approx.<12mths), with="" later="" firmware="">

The index is the file name

    ... 35J.d23j

Earlier patched versions were 35 nd d. where are replaced by the foregoing.

It might be worth you checking the other orders above well (except the name of the firmware a file).

n.b.: operation automatic mode by default and does not show in the running configuration,

(HS control vdsl 0 contains "DSL Config Mode: AUTO ' well)

and "modem ukfeature" - you can see in the output of

    'show controller vdsl 0 console [number]' after the trains of modem DSL;

    you see something like: -.

    Force UKFeatureBit SET

There was once a link to the doc to the following, but I think it's a dead link now.

  • LAN-Free backup of snapshots VMDK of ESX Cluster

My intention is to perform a backup outside shots VMDK of ESX Cluster to VCB Proxy Server LAN.

I have a scenario where I have 3 ESX servers with 3 x 800 GB LUNS in a storage group separate on a CX 310 SAN box. The Ids., (HLUs) host these 3 LUN LUN are 0, 1, and 2. All these three LUNS is a VMFS volume each on the ESX Cluster and all three LUNS are visible to all the ESX servers.

I have a physical host that boot from SAN (the same box of CX 310 SAN) and this host will be designated as the VCB Proxy Server.

Now, I'm going to add a 1 TB LUN to the storage group as the LUN 4 ESX servers and the Id., (HLU) host LUNS for this one will be 3. This logic unit number will be added as the 4th volume of the cluster ESX VMFS. It will also show all three ESX servers in the Cluster.

I'll create a Windows VM 'VM2K3' on ESX Server 1, and I intend to add the volume (1 TB) entire VMFS 4th as "D:\". "drive"VM2K3 ". I'll share this disc "D:\". "and it will be mapped as drive"T:\ ". "on the VCB Proxy Server. This disk 'T:\ '. "will be the target for the storage of the VMDK to snapshot backups, in a compressed format. I use VizionCore vRanger software connection to this effect on the server VCB Proxy itself.

    Question 1.

This scenario will provide the backup off LAN of VMDK instant?

    Question 2.

In the case of a failure full 1 ESX Server, VMotion will be or a manual movement of the virtual from Windows "VM2K3" machine would affect the LAN-Freee of instant VMDK backup? If so, how will this affect and what will be the impact?

    Question 3.

The "C:\". "Logic of the VCB Proxy unit number will be a 30 GB SATA LUN and the total size of the RAM on the VCB Proxy Server is 8 GB. The ability to drive "C:\". "30 GB will be sufficient to make faster given the fact that I have about 45 VMs at this point in time?

Any help or suggestion or two in this case would be very useful.

    Hello

A physical machine cannot directly access a VMDK in a VMFS. There may directly access LUN, that LUN could then accessible by a VM with RDM or virtual RDM mode. But why would you do it is really beyond me.

The VCB Proxy running W2K3 and you present all your VMFS volumes (make sure that you don't have a letter assignment drive automatically enabled when you make this presentation). See http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35/vi3_35_25_vm_backup.pdf for assistance with this.

VCB proxy then read this VMFS and copy data from it to your T:\ drive (MON).

Remember that no two hosts can access the same logical unit number unless you use a clustered file system.

I was not able to find out what my quota is supposed to be. (There is a way to limit the number of days I want messages that should stand, but I've never used). I have several folders for messages, but when I tried to transfer some of the messages to those (messages I had to record), I've always had the memo "Inbox is full." The message also said that I could compact the Inbox, but I don't know how to do, either. I've always been happy with Mozilla, but I need your good help!

Deleting messages only marks them for deletion and mask them. The space is not released until you compact the folder. You compact individual records by clicking on the folder and select folder Compact or you compact all folders by selecting the Compact on the file menu.

  • Invisible messages to Outlook Express 6 after failure "compact all folders.

I start Outlook Express 6 XP. On closing yesterday that I was invited to compact the folders - said yes, but he hung up at halfway and locked the PC and I finally had to force a power down. PC started today to find any message in most folders, including the Inbox. DBX files are visible and of reasonable size, and their properties say they are those that are used by OE, but show in OE as "There is no evidence at this point of view". Help, please, anyone?

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

    Why mail disappears:

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

  • Failure — CPU fan comes on full blast when the computer is running. Will not stop unless the computer is off

Fan comes on full blast when the computer is running. Won't stop unless the computer is turned off, or in low power state. Tech has replaced the fans, problem resurfaced after computer tech left. Everything else seems to work very well. Dell XPS One (all-in-One), Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, Q8200 @ 2.33 GHz, 4 GB RAM, OS, Vista 32-bit

I suggest you get back the Tech to fix it properly this time, because they have replaced the fan.
