! 00% CPU use due to Multiple Instances of WerFault.exe running on Vista SP2 computer

I recently reinstalled Vista (reinstall clean due to the failure of the hard drive to the new hard drive) and SP2 and all updates available. I think WerFault.exe works sporadically (up to 5 instances at a time) using 100% cpu. This makes my system unusable. I end the prossess (s) by using the Task Manager, but they keep restarting. I tried the error report auto disablinf and made many analyses of malware with various reputable antivirus/antispyware programs that have all found nothing sinister. I do not have insalled all programs that I didn't have prior to reintalling Vista. I had never experienced this problem during the four years that I've been running Vista. Any suggestions?

Werfault.exe is the windows error reporting service. type 'services' in the search from the start menu, right click on the "error reporting service Windows" and choose "Properties". In the drop-down list "Startup type", choose "disabled", then restart your computer.

  • Photosmart 7510 running multiple instances of HPNetworkCommunicator.exe

I have several instances of HPNetworkCommunicator.exe being run, but only 1 printer configured.  An escalation manager HP/engineer? connected to my PC to help solve a problem that I had with Efax.  He used a tool of the scrubber and left all instances previous HP printers I had and then reinstalled the PhotoSmart 7150 software.

Everything worked fine after that.  However, Windows did an update on my computer and after that I could not the scanner, no printer software worked (to check the ink levels, scanner, etc...).  Responsible for the escalation, said there are problems with Windows updates because after the update, Windows does not see the printer as a scanner and it is a threat to the network, so it disables the scan from the printer part.

He has reinstalled the printer that a printer wireless and then scan will work again.  However, he had several (3) instances of HPnetworkCommunicator.exe running after that.

I went into the control panel and saw 2 7510 s PhotoSmart configured, so I deleted one of the printers.  I thought that's why there are several instances of HPneworkCommunicator running, and delete the redundant printer would solve the problem.

I rebooted and checked everything was working on the printer.  However, I have yet 2 instances of HPnetworkCommunicator running.  Is this normal?

    Hello

It is normal to have more than one instance running at the time sime because of several communication actions occouring simultanly (e.g. alerts of ink. Front panel to scan, the device status, etc..)

This is the mode of operation of the specific software version.

If you see the affected PC performance, it's another story.

For such a question, I would recommend you to set the alert of ink as shown below, restart the PC and check any changes:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03191239

If performance is still affected, also disable the front panel scan option.

If the software does not affect the PC somehow, you have really not hae any reason to take action.

    Kind regards

  • The Windows Task Manager shows two instances of HpqPhUnl.exe running under XP

My windows Task Manager shows two instances of HpqPhUnl.exe Runnung.

    * original title - why do I have two HpqPhUnl.exe race? *

Are you using the quick change of user with more than one user connected and are both instances of HpqPhUnl.exe running under different user names?

Although it is always possible for malware to masquerade as a legitimate file, HpqPhUnl.exe is related to the HP Photosmart Essential software provided with printers HP all-in-one.

It seems there were several problems with Photosmart Essential and HP has replaced with HP Photo Creations.  HP claims, however, that he "supports" always Photosmart Essential.  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02475046&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3857372

You know, it's more difficult to follow all the news - just to get a response.  I've restored as soon as possible, has got rid of the programs and the remains, then reinstalled MSE and updated, and, Yes, the computer is updated and better now with the improvement of power, video card and without an easy way to trace this information (you know a feature of Windows that would follow easily everything you ask?) - it seems a big eater of real-time , for questionable results.  I thought that Windows 7 Ultimate would have included more administration tools just to log on and view, copy, paste, rather than the back-and-forth necessary to fill out a form that is as unique as it is not shoot all the tools.  I see that much info required users, and where is the forensic tools easy to use a computer owner should have?  Malware authors certainly use them.  The average owner must be at least as good a handle on reports on what's happening, everything down to the core.

When I close Explorer 8, rundll32.exe opens multiple instances and memory in the Task Manager go to more than 800,000 for each instance. • On the task bar of Windows Explorer post work without creating multiple instances of explorer.exe.

Hi, I tried the workaround solution where you enter "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe: {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}" in the target.  However, this doesn't seem to be a full working solution because it creates an instance of "explorer.exe" whenever you access.  I want a solution that allows me to open the 'Workstation' of the taskbar that creates instances fallacious "explorer.exe" (it should stay onlya singleinstance of explorer.exe).

BTW, no, I don't want to pin 'my computer' icon so I have to hover over windows Explorer and then proceed to my computer.  I want the default location in Windows Explorer my computer and no libraries (which had the idea to do this? this person is a fool, because the majority of people never use libraries)

    -Dan

Another alternative - using a VBScript script to launch my folder on the computer.

Copy these lines into Notepad and save the file as "MyComputer.vbs".

    Set objShell = CreateObject
    objShell.ShellExecute "shell: MyComputerFolder ', ' ', ' ', 'open', 1

Create a shortcut to the script including the full path, as below:

    C:\Windows\System32\wscript.exe "D:\MyScripts\MyComp.vbs."

Change the shortcut icon, and then PIN to the taskbar.

How is it a better alternative?

The script takes 3K of memory (max) and duly ends after launching the folder desktop. It's better than the original situation where each instance explorer.exe taking 20 + K of memory and not end automatically.

  • multiple instances of ravbg64.exe

After completing my process through my task manager, I found that I have about 5 instances of the same RAVBg64.exe running at the same time. I know that at least one of them are legit, but I don't know the others. Also, a lot of my steam games started having drops of solid chassis. Are these additional files virus?

    Sunbro

This process is your realtek.  I'd install the most recent driver available, even if it is the same date because drivers become corrupt

There are discussions quite a few issues in this driver.

  • There are several instances of explorer.exe running in Task Manager (currently 7), each help between 10 and 40 MB of memory.

Explorer.exe processes use resources cpu at different times.  I remember reading at the time that this could be a sign of a virus, but I did a full scan with NIS 2010 and nothing showed.  Can someone give me pointers where to begin to investigate?

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Friday last-formatted disk HARD and everything, so he didn't have much time for something bad to happen!

I discovered what is causing the explorer.exe hang... If you give ALL the arguments for explorer.exe in your shortcut/properties, to try to change the default of libraries directory, it crashes.  For example, simply using "explorer.exe C:\. "will cause a task explore hang whent you close it... to crash, I mean the window closes, but the process remains in memory.  I had 15 tonight explorer.exe...  There is advice on the net on how to get the default Explorer for workstation (which I have been using this trick - I HATE default libraries which I NEVER use)... so change your shortcut and remove all the arguments for explorer.exe.  See if it suits it!

As expected, the support has no knowledge on what I see.

PS - I just understand how default Explorer for workstation... Its strange, but it works...  Click right drag the icon from your desktop on the desktop on an empty space.  Create shortcut...  Now detach any Windows Explorer, you have in your taskbar... Now left click, drag your shortcut from the desktop to the taskbar.    Now, if you simply click on it, you go into libraries... BUT - if instead you right click, you will see the shortcut from the desktop and select this option, it goes into my computer... and there's never hang out of any EXTRA explorer.exe!

  • multiple instances of internet explore in my task manager

Why are there multiple instances of internet explore in my task manager when I open only one page?

    Hello

IE uses smaller instances of itself to support tabs and correction of errors and it is normal for IE8. In fact
It uses far fewer resources as well as the opening of 2 or more instances to access several pages. If you
Open several tabs, and then still more small instances of Internet Explorer will be opened to support these tabs and error correction.

    So basically, everything is normal.

  • Use of multiple instances of the same browser...

    Hi people,

    I have a question...
I inherited a large APEX application, it uses Oracle SSO to log.

We are migrating the application to a new set of servers and run regression tests.
Testers are connecting using IE6 and multiple instances of the application both on the oldTest newTest servers and opening.

If at some point, you can:
an application Admin user (username ADMINTEST123)  logged into the application on oldTest
an application Admin user (username ADMINTEST123)  logged into the application on newTest

an application standard user (username TEST123)  logged into the application on oldTest
an application standard user (username TEST123)  logged into the application on newTest
    Is this supported?

Could someone tell me or direct me to the documentation or the thread that lists which is supported / unsupported for use of browser with APEX and SSO?

    Thanks in advance,
    Gus...

So this can I conclude that what you say and the above results we could get questions if connection users and open new windows in this sense?

Yes, if users connect or not, if requests for pages using the same session of apex are issued different browser instances, the results may be undesirable.

  • Very heavy use of the processor because werfault.exe

My machine is extremely slow due to werfault.exe.  Manager tasks shows the use of the CPU to 100% all the time.  The processes tab shows 2-3 instances of werfault.exe using all of the CPU resources.  This continues indefinitely and a reboot does not fix it.  The only way I could do my usable computer is by stopping the Windows error reporting service.  However, I fear that this eliminates simply a symptom and not the underlying problem.

I also met the very high disk activity.  I disable 'Run on a calendar' in the fragmenteur disk (after I did a full defragmentation) and I've also eliminated Super Fetch.  He did reduce significantly the disk activity, but there are always times when the hard drive is busy and I see no reason for this.

You go to 'Services' to disable werfault.exe.  Click on the Windows button or what it is called in Vista (the thing that replaced the 'Start' button in XP).  Enter 'Admin Tools' in the search box.  Right click on "Services" and then click "Run as Administrator".  After that 'Services' opens, search for "Windows Error Reporting Service".  Double-click it, and then you can stop it and turn it off.

I'm not having any luck with either.  Now as I type this, there are 2 instances of werfault.exe race and each consuming more than 40% usage.  "Problem reports" and Solutions show nothing.

It started shortly after I had installed Vista.  I had finished not even install all applications - perhaps began after installing SP2.

I think that I will reinstall Vista.  If the problem comes back, I'll have to go back to XP.

  • Cannot install Windows Vista SP2 due to error code 0 x 80070490

Original title: conclusion it is impossible to install the Vista SP2

Hello. I'm trying to update my parents with Vista SP2 computer, but it's a disaster. It is a 32-bit operating system. First of all, I tried to install it with windows live update but got the error code 0 x 80070490. Then I tried to download it manually from the Windows Download Center, but this has led to the same problem occurs. I then removed all virus protection programs and tried again, but it still doesn't work. I then downloaded the Windows Update Readiness Tool 947821 KB but when I try and install it it freezes for hours constantly and will not install. I think of anything else to do and I was wondering if anyone can help. Thank you

    Hi Hayekk,

There are several things to try:

    ·      Remove and then reinstall the device:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Bluetooth devices.

2 Select the device that is not working, and then click Remove.

    3. click on Add, press the reset button on the unit (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), check the box my device is set up and ready to be found and then click Next.

    4. If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.

    5. follow the remaining instructions in the wizard.

    ·         Make sure that the device is on and that the batteries should be replaced.

    ·         Make sure that the Bluetooth adapter for your computer is attached and turned on, and that the device is in use and detectable. If you don't know how to turn on discoverability, read the instructions provided with the device or check the manufacturer's Web site.

    ·         The unit may be out of range of your computer, or too close. Try to move closer or a little further away from your computer.

I download after effects template on my site, the user came and download the desired content.

I'm updating the model using scripts with the content of the user and then video rendering and therefore user get video with his text/images uploaded etc.

its working perfectly when I update a unique model, but when multiple users come at the same time, then they need multiple instances of sequels

so I opened multiple instances of after-effects by using "m" with after having shortened the effects

It's a Setup completely unsupported in first place and you will be difficult to find someone who can help you. Probably, you will need to create separate shortcuts / files in batches and run them in separate instance contexts. AE itself always detects running instances and reuse.
