002606 BEA: Weblogic server runs on port 80 - permission denied.

Hello

I'm new to weblogic, just started playing with it. I have installed weblogic server with a cluster consisting of 2 servers, all running on the spot. I tried to configure the functionality of web server on weblogic 10.3. I followed the exact steps described in http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/config_wls/web_server.html, but now I get a permission denied error:

Port 80 is not used by intellectual property. Am quite lost for the moment on how to solve this problem.

Appreciate all advice offered. Thanks in advance.

non-root users cannot bind to port 80. This is a restriction of Unix, not a matter of WebLogic.

Usually WebLogic instances running on an unrestricted port and load balancers and web servers running on port 80, redirecting to the WebLogic instance.

  • BEA Weblogic Server 9.2

    Hello everyone
    We run on BEA Weblogic Server Premium Edition 9.2 mp2 and we have not had to patch up long. Today I got to know that our servers are vulnerable and required patching couple.
    But I think it's that instead of patching on weblogic 9.2 mp2 I can pass it to mp3. It works very well.
    And my second Question is that I have this BEA Weblogic Server Premium Edition 9.2 mp2 and I found Oracle WebLogic Server 9.2 MP3 then is that if I patch and level of mp2 to mp3.
    Suggestion will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Good question and unfortunately only saleswoman Oracle/BEA can respond. Previous support BEA rules were different and more specific to the release. But after Oracle/BEA merger, these rules of sales may have changed. In order to better communicate with the sales guys.

  • Start several areas simultaneously 1 installation of Weblogic server?

    Is it acceptable to create and manage several areas simultaneously. Better yet, when several areas on 1 Server WLS, each area have another port number in order to be executed at the same time?

    Here is my scenario - I have installed Oracle Business Intellgence, which, by default, installs and configures the server WLS for some Business Intelligence applications (BI Publisher). This instance is running fine and good and always.

    Then I got another application, Oracle Data Integrator, that has a Console piece that requires a domain on WLS. So rather than change the existing for Oracle Business Intelligence domain, I created a new domain through the Configuration Wizard and selected these Oracle Data Integrator components.

    That is why the current areas:

    ...\domains\bifoundation_domain--> installed automatically as part of Oracle Business Intelligence
    ...\domains\odi11g--> I created this area after I

    Now I have 2 domains under 1 WLS Server (windows 7 64-bit), but if I startWeblogic.cmd for the bifoundation_domain and I startWeblogic.cmd for the odi11g... While the components for the bifoundation_domain will be available via the WLS Console.

    Issues related to the:
    -Can I simultaneously use two domains?
    -I changed the bifoundation_domain to include the Oracle Data Integrator components. so only with 1 domain, but have all run under this area?
    -Is the Port for each subject of the domain? field, the bifounddation_domain and the odi11g use ports 7001

    Are there other aspects? Thank you very much.

    Hello

    For the side things WebLogic:
    -Yes, you can run two domains on one machine. You can run as many areas that the computer/server can handle.

    -The ports are important on what you use. Basically, the relaitonship is that you can have 1 WebLogic Server running on port 1. Otherwise, you'll have weblogic servers, prevent others from commissioning. So, you will need to make sure that all of your weblogic servers are configured on separate ports. 7001 is the default port WebLogic AdminServer. You can modify the ports that are used from the Administrator console or '% Domain_Home%/config/config.xml '.

  • 10.3, as "only Weblogic server" cluster configuration

    Hello

    We have a Cluster of servers managed by two. Ports are the MS 7002, 7003. We want these server deployments to be visible through port 80/443. Currently we have Mapviewer application deployed and targeted to the cluster. All servers are running and the deployment is active. However, we are only able to access the deployment on ports 7002, 7003.

    The documentation states: "a group of WebLogic Server consists of several instances of Server WebLogic Server running simultaneously and work together to provide scalability and reliability.» A cluster appears to clients as a single instance of WebLogic Server".

    But nowhere does how to get a cluster to appear as a "single Weblogic Server instance. Where this happens in the console files or config admin? Maybe it's a function of node Manager? Help, please. Thank you.

    Look at the following for more information on the conduct of with WebLogic load balancing: [http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/cluster/load_balancing.html].

    It seems that there are a few options to make the 'internal' (not an external load balancer) load balancing, using a proxy plugin.

  • How do I know the admin for weblogic server port

    I have Oracle Weblogic server installed on my Windows 7 machine. I want to know if the server is running and which is the port of admin for him. Can someone guide me?

    the default is 7001. If the weblogic administration console is accessible by http://localhost:7001 / console

    If weblogic is installed you will have weblogic home i.e. middleware... you can check that... These are all default values and can change according to the approx... but usually these things by default.

  • Install PT8.53 Linux question: startPIA.sh cannot run the WebLogic Server

    People,

    Hello. I install PeopleTools 8.53 with the server database Oracle 11 GR 1 material and OS Oracle Linux 5. Data Mover Bootstrap and application designer can connect to the instance of database successfully. About PIA, Oracle Database Server and Application Server Tuxedo11gR1 runs correctly. But when to start WebLogic Server in the opt/PT8.53/webserv/PT853/bin directory, I get an error message like below:

    [user@userlinux bin] $./startPIA.sh

    Try to start WebLogic Server PIA
    No activity will be connected to this window.
    Activity on the server will be connected to /opt/PT8.53/webserv/PT853/servers/PIA/logs/PIA_*
    PID for WebLogic Server PIA is: 5462

    According to the site Internet of Nicolas http://gasparotto.blogspot.com/2010/02/web-server-weblogic-11gR1.html, I did 2 things like below:

    First of all, in the setenv.sh file, I changed MAX_FILE_DESCRIPTORS to 4096 to 1024.

    Secondly, I added the last 4 lines in the /etc/security/limits.conf file as below:

    # - nice - max great priority has led to increase of
    priority realtime max # - rtprio -
    #
    # < domain > < type > < item > < value >

    WebLogic - nproc 65536
    WebLogic - unlimited core
    WebLogic - memlock 50000000

    # End of file

    I have restart startPIA.sh and get the same error message:

    Try to start WebLogic Server PIA
    No activity will be connected to this window.
    Activity on the server will be connected to /opt/PT8.53/webserv/PT853/servers/PIA/logs/PIA_*
    PID for WebLogic Server PIA is: 5462

    My question is: any folk cannot resolve the error above to start the WebLogic for PIA Server?

    Thank you.

    As Nicolas says that you cannot start PIA on ports below 1024 on Linux with a non-root users.

    Recreate your PIA assembly and affect others like 8000 and 4443.

  • How to set up multiple LIVE IDS prod certificates on Sharepoint 2010 single server runs several Sharepoint Sites with different domain on port 443?

    Hello

    I integrated LIVE ID with Sharepoint 2010 and got the same compliance.

    In sharepoint server 2010, several sharepoint sites are run under port 443 with different domain names.

    I configured 1 LIVE ID certificate for one of our sharepoint sites would like to know can I use the same certificate for other sites too or I need to install other certificates LIVE ID to access other sites.

    How can I get prod LIVE ID certificates are available for free as nexus offers two certificates INT and PROD (x 509 certificate) or do I need to buy.

    If I need to buy where can I buy it go?

    Hi ppdremsadm,

    Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it is related to the configuration of Live ID in Sharepoint 2010. It should be better in the Forums of Windows Sharepoint.

    Please ask your question in products and technology SharePoint forums to improve assistance in this regard.

  • Run the event at the start of the Weblogic Server

    Hi all

    I want to run some events at the start of the weblogic server.

    What the version u use?

    One way is

    ServletContextListener

    A better way to implement a class of application startup is to use the servlet context listener. He listens to the start and stop application events by implementing the methods contextInitialized() and contextDestroyed(). You can configure the listener in your web.xml () file, or even use the @WebServletContextListener annotation.

    / public class StartupListener implements javax.servlet.ServletContextListener {}

    ....

    {} public void contextInitialized (dry ServletContextEvent)

    ....

    }

    {} public void contextDestroyed (dry ServletContextEvent)

    ....

    }

    }

    Downside again; There is a context per "web application" per Java Virtual Machine. You would then have to manage cluster problems yourself. But positive on this subject is that you don't have to worry about that whether the external call, as this could occur with startup servlets. But it is portable and can be used on any Java EE server.

    If you use version 12. You can use

    Another way to use ApplicationListener. You can 4 event to capture it...

  • To run the latest versio adf oracle weblogic Server 10.3.2.0 code

    Hello

    JDeveloper version: 11.1.2.1

    I use this version of jdeveloper to develop the code and when I test locally it works fine.

    But when I put the same file. War in Oracle weblogic server in 10.3.2.0, is to show some mistakes. Exp: resetActionlistener does not work.

    Alignments do not work as expected, it behaves in a weird way.

    I have no option to upgrade the weblogic server, and I want that my code works in 10.3.2.0.

    Please provide me with you're suggestions.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards
    K.Satish.

    I do not think the 11.1.2.1.0 ADF Runtimes are compatible with WLS 10.3.2, so why I referred you to the matrix certification and support. 11.1.2.1.0 must run on WLS 10.3.5.

    The document you sent me is for ADF 10.1.2 and is irrelevant to the discussion here. The documentation for ADF 11.1.2.1.0 can be found here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E24382_01/index.htm

  • What is the recommended way to run a WebLogic Server in the background?

    I'm new to WebLogic Server and I was looking at the documentation. There are instructions for starting and stopping the servers under Linux, but they all seem to rely on the foreground process. What is the right way to run these processes in the background in a production environment? Is it just using nohup somewhere in an /etc/init.d/ script or y at - it another way I should run it?

    Meatwad,

    Of course, running the WLS process using nohup would put the process in the background. However, the recommended way to run the WLS servers on a production system would be to configure the node Manager and use it. Place the servers as a background process, it also provides additional features, that would be useful - for example, allowing the start and stop the console of administration with the ability to auto restart failed or stuck servers.

    For more information, please see the documentation.

  • How to configure port forwarding on a dedicated server running CentOS 5.4 to use Ubuntu 9.0.4

    The basic situation that I have is a dedicated server running CentOS 5.4 for the moment I have a virtual machine running Ubuntu 9.0.4. Later, I want to add a virtual computer that is running Windows Server 2003, but right now I focus on the implementation and running Ubuntu.

    The installation of Ubuntu works very well, but I am seriously struggling to get the port forwarding so I can visit the Web sites to be hosted on the Ubuntu VM. As a newbie on Linux, I am confused about the relationship between IPTables and VMWare own port forwarding.

    Here's what I've tried so far.

    My server's IP address is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, provider support told me that the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, gateway address is xxx.xxx.xxx.1 and the network address is xxx.xxx.xxx.0. (These last two surprises me a little, I'd expect to be private rather than public gateway/network address).

    First of all, I tried Bridged Networking, but had no luck contacting the machine other than through the VMware console. I tried it the ping from the host (using ssh in the host), but no joy. also no Inernet access from the VM. I changed the configuration of the DHCP server to static interfaces, using a static address 192.168.1.100 and by assigning to the doors of such xxx.xxx.xxx.1 as advised by the supplier. No real difference, still cannot ping the host prompt, or vice versa and any of the customer's Internet access.

    Then I tried NAT. The host automatically 192.168.132.128 with a 192.168.132.2 gateway IP address now, the client has access to the Internet and when I do a VNC host and open Firefox with 192.168.132.128 I can see the correct hosted Web site but I still can't get in from the outside.

    I mentioned that I am a bit confused about IPtables and VMware port forwarding, what I wanted to say, it is that I'm not sure if IPtable transfer must be set to the IP address of the interface of comments (192.168.132.128 in this case) or the address of the 192.168.132.2 bridge.

    I have the impression that I'm missing something simple here, can someone tell me what it is?

    Find your "/ etc/vmware/vmnet8/nat/nat.conf" file and change:

    Example:

    \[incomingtcp]

    8887 = 192.168.27.128:80

    That would redirect a header of TCP packet entering the port 8887 on the host on port 80 of the guest with the IP 192.168.27.128.

    Ditto for the UPD:

    \[incomingudp]

    6000 = 192.168.27.128:6001

    You can (must) use iptables for firewall purposes but does not redirect traffic at the prompt.
