I just changed from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail as my e-mail system. I am running Windows 7 and IE 10 and have verified that the settings of the e-mail server and the password are correct. I always get the following Windows Live Mail error message:

Unable to connect to an IMAP server via the POP3 service.

Right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. On the general tab, clear the option include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing of.

Now, press Ctrl-Shift-T to start the Add your e-mail accounts Wizard. Complete the first page and select Configure the server settings manually. On the next page, select IMAP in the upper area, then enter the other details as given to you by the Charter.

When you are finished, the account test dial a new test message and send it to yourself. Post a new message in your response.

Once the account is not working properly, you can click the old account which is not working right and select delete account.  Don't forget to read and act on the warning message that you see when you do this.

Check with your email provider that you have the correct settings.  If you use OE, then go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties and verify that the settings are correct.  You can also try to log via webmail if you have this option to determine if your ISP is having problems or if it's your computer.

If you can, try to connect via webmail and ensure that there is no problem with the account.  If webmail works, try to remove your e-mail account and then close Winmail and compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  After that, make sure that your antivirus software is not interfere (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and add your account to mail back once again.

So it could just be an intermittent interruption of service, first try the webmail.

I want to keep my Outlook Express.

Also, I tried to roll back the computer but to no avail.
What can I do to fix what I've apparently clogged upward?

    Thank you

    Start with this one.

    Error number: 0x800C0133 = a corrupt Inbox.

Move any message you want to save to a local folder that you create. Then, remove the problem of Inbox as follows.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX file for the folder in question {Inbox.dbx} and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • Outlook Express: Unable to connect to the mail server! (error 0x800CCC90)

original title: Outlook Express: unable to connect to the mail server!

Im trying to get my outlook express to receive and send messages from my live.com account but it comes back with: the server responded with an error. Account: "Live.com', Protocol: POP3, server response:'-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC90."

Someone knows how to fix this? I tried to remove and add the account again using IMAP instead of POP3, but still get an error message, the e-mail address and the password are all correct and I think that ive got the right to Server (live.com?) Im not exactly computer so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will find the right settings for an account on this page live.com: send and receive Hotmail from an e-mail application. To change your settings, select Tools > accounts > {account} > properties and make right onto the tabs of servers and Advanced entries.

IE has nothing to do with OE in this regard. If the problem is intermittent, I suspect a problem with your modem, router or ISP. Reset the modem and the router, if you use one, and if that doesn't help, get help from Onetel on line and have them check the signal of your modem.
  • Error 0x800CCC90 and 0x800CCC92 on outlook express on all new accounts

Hello, I'm trying accountable email for new employees in my company. However, whenever I try to access these new accounts to send or receive e-mails, I get error 0x800CCC90 and 0x800CCC92. Accounts that have been already made and use the same POP3 and SMTP servers as new accounts with a dysfunction work very well. Accounts are hosted by onlinecorp.com and I have done here before to create on the instance of Microsoft Outlook Express selling personal computer. I checked and rechecked to make sure that I entered the data correctly and deleted and recreated the accounts without result. I think that there may be something wrong with the creation account because this problem does not seem to affect the old accounts. The problem is, I have no idea how to solve this problem and nothing I found seems to apply to my situation. If someone knows what I could do to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if you can get webmail to work well here: http://www.slingshot.co.nz/ If Yes, then make sure that you do not have your antivirus value analyze them.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 .  It's a face more issues that can mess things up.  Then try to delete your account, close OE and then reopen it, and then add the account back again.

  • Problem connecting to your e-mail server, password was rejected, error: 0x800ccc90.

Problem connecting to your e-mail server, password was rejected, error 0x800ccc90, no solution to this problem?

If it has started, it may be a problem with the server, although Comcast to admit that would be a feat.

I delete the account completely, restart, and then add it again. Make sure that you are using the parameters described here.

  • Outlook Express 0x800ccc90 error code

Recently, I had problems when opening Outlook Express to check my e-mail, although my username and password are there, the box is saying that they are not recognized.  Sometimes it happens when I click on OK and then everything returns to normal, and everything opens up.

Today, that it will not open at all just the error box is back. It shows the following:

    POP3 server error 0x800CCC90
    POP3 error 0x800CCC92 number.

The first thing I would do is to connect to my mailbox through a web browser to make sure that the credentials work this way.  The next thing I would do is completely uninstall my antivirus program and reinstall it without the analysis feature mail.  Programs antivirus scanner mail is a major cause of this particular problem. Hi there :) I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem. I've tried excellent 'Outlook Express Repair basic Kit' Tom Koch, but it doesn't always work, so for now, I use my ISP's webmail service which is OK but very limited. I'm about to tear my hair because it happened more than a week now, and nobody seems to know what is the cause. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem, but now I slove.

    share with everyone:

1: slove express outlook cannot save the cause of password, it does not but you enter the password or not.  http://www.qingdaowx.CN/PC/22.htm

2: the reason is very simple and it make you be able to cry or laugh.only because the Antivirus software is blocking your emails. stop to protect the mail will be slove your problem quickly.

I do and then slove two problems, I hope this will help you.

  • Error 0x800CCC90 when the Comcast of Windows Mail e-mail server access

I have Windows Vista on my PC and use Windows Mail. I can't set up a Comcast email newly created to work, even if I created my account according to the guidelines.

    Mail - POP3 server type

    Incoming mail server: imap.comcast.net

Number of server port = 587 using SSL

Outgoing mail - type of SMTP server

    Outgoing mail server: smtp.comcast.net

Server port number = 993 using SSL

When I try to connect to the mail server, this error:

Account: "mail.comcast.net', server: 'imap.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: ' * OK IMAP4 loan ', Port: 993, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC90

I can't directly connect to the mail server from Comcast using the login ID and the password I used in Windows Mail.

Can someone tell me what causes the failure of WIndows Mail?

    Thank you very much!

If you want an IMAP account, you cannot use the settings of POP3 that mentions the error message. It's one or the other.
