  Remove KB3004394 from Windows updates and reboot. It has caused many problems.
   
  Go to the updates of Windows. It should appear in the start menu. All programs, or you can find it in the control panel.
   
  Click view update history and installed updates. In the search bar type in KB3004394. When it shows the update, do a right click on it and uninstall it.

  I think that you have updated the BIOS with the wrong procedure.
  Have you checked the BIOS update document?

  In any case, the fault of system32 has nothing to do with the BIOS and I don t understand why you started the update of the BIOS.

  The Portege 3500 does not support an internal hard drive, and so if you want to install the operating system, you must use a compatible external PC card reader.
  I assume you are using this player to start.

  If some error messages appear during the installation, you must first format the whole HARD drive and delete all partitions and then try again to boot from the recovery CD!

  I am told that I have a lot of older Windows XP updates missing who might be a threat to my safety. I have Windows XP Pro Media Center edition SP3.

  1. I can not turn on Windows Defender. It seems to hang and then I get the 0x800705b4 error message and that the delay expired.

  If I need to have these, how can I get them? I clicked check for updates and installed the updates until this process went more updated.

I can't download the updates of windows from 08/10/16 - the latest downloads on 08/02/16. I did a full scan with McAfee & there is no problem in that. Given that the system sought & found these updates 08/10/16, the fan noise has served continuously as in a loop. I managed to stop that noise will 'services.msc', choose 'windows update', by selecting Properties & stop. If I start it again, it seems to go on and on but updates still do not download.
