10.3.1 Classic Crash: sheet w TabbedPane

It is not the usual way, but nin one of my apps, I had to implent a TabbedPane level 2

TabbedPane

rootPane

Tab

openSheet

Sheet

TabbedPane

works well on 10.2 and 10.3.0 Passport

but crashes on 10.3.1.747 / 10.3.1.1154

something like

end code SIGSEGV = 1 fltno = 11 ip=143866dc(/base/usr/lib/libbbcascades.so.1@_ZN35IQNXWebCompositingMessageLoopClientD0Ev+0x59b97) mapaddr = 003706dc. REF = 000001 has 8 bdslot = 1

found a solution: see response

workaround on 10.3.1 Classic:

Use a QTimer with 30ms before you instantiate the TabbedPane inside the sheet

Sheet {
    id: dataEntrySheet
    onClosed: {
        // ....
    }
    attachedObjects: [
        DataEntryTabbedPane {
            id: tabbedPane
        },
        QTimer {
            id: startupDelayedTimer
            interval: 30
            singleShot: true
            onTimeout: {
                dataEntrySheet.setContent(tabbedPane)
            }
        }
    ]
    Page {
        // DUMMY
    }

    onCreationCompleted: {
        startupDelayedTimer.start()
    }
}

  • objects vs C++ QML Dynamics

    normally I use ComponentDefinitions and create / destroy all my UI of QML, who works fast and easy.

    C++ only I use for business logic

    Sometimes I have to create a C++ user interface controls, in this case a sheet, because:

    If you use a spreadsheet with a NavigationPane or TabbedPane a TabbedPane root tab,

    then c++ findChild can not find 'behind' the leaf objects

    See this thread.

    so my solution is to create / destroy these leaves of C++, because then I can ask these leaves to find objects.

    It works perfectly and I will write blog and provide video HowTo handle this

    Now my questions to all the C++ / Qt gurus out there:

    What is the best way to create / destroy the leaf?

    Here is my code:

    1. open the sheet

    called from QML

    Create the spreadsheet and open it

    void ApplicationUI::openAdminSheet() {
        QmlDocument *qmlAdminSheet = QmlDocument::create(
                "asset:///admin/AdminSheet.qml");
        qmlAdminSheet->setContextProperty("REST", mKinveyREST);
        qmlAdminSheet->setContextProperty("sercar10", this);
        mAdminSheet = qmlAdminSheet->createRootObject();
        mAdminSheet->setParent(this);
        mAdminSheet->open();
    }

    everything works perfectly

    Sheet with TabbedPane opens on top

    I put setContextProperty of classes where I invoke methods.

    my business logic found objects such as DataModels, etc. drop-down menus using findChild() sheet as root

    When the work is done and user wants to go back:

    2. close the sheet

    called from QML

    close the worksheet

    destroy the roadmap

    call a function in QML. This function lives in the part of the root, so not executable from inside the leaf, but the roots after the closure of the leaf

    void ApplicationUI::closeAdminSheet() {
        mAdminSheet->close();
        mAdminSheet->deleteLater();
        QMetaObject::invokeMethod(Application::instance()->scene(),
                    "goHomeFromAdmin");
    }

    -------------

    now my question:

    I use deleteLater() to destroy the roadmap.

    is it ok?

    This means content will be deleted without danger?

    is this the right place?

    or should I only do the close() and connect to onClosed() Signal and then deleteLater?

    What happens if the user closes and opens very fast sheet and openAdminSheet() creates a new worksheet before execution of deleteLater()?

    Could it happen?

    THX for tips HowTo, go the safer way to create / remove sheets of C++ - even if the user clicks repeatedly on open / close?

    Hello

    1. open the sheet

    QmlDocument belongs to the default application. Where it is used to instantiate a single page, this page can be defined as the mother of QmlDocument, so they are destroyed together (this technique is described on this page).

    ...mAdminSheet = qmlAdminSheet->createRootObject();qmlAdminSheet->setParent(mAdminSheet);...

    Loading of the QML will take probably some time, perhaps that is useful to load the document once and store it somewhere, spawning objects if necessary root while reusing the QML. While it should work in theory, I have not tried this.

    2 destruction of the leaf

    Close() is not instantaneous. deleteLater() is asynchronous, but most likely will trigger before close animation is over, so I think it's safer to wait until closed() is triggered and destroy the paper after that. This can be done on the spot, something like:

    QObject::connect(mAdminSheet, SIGNAL(closed()), mAdminSheet, SLOT(deleteLater()));

    children of mAdminSheet should be removed safely if their parents are properly defined.

    > what happens if the user closes and opens the sheet very fast and openAdminSheet() create a new worksheet before deleteLater() run? Could it happen?

    mAdminSheet is only a pointer (a memory address). The real object is not destroyed even if the pointer is overwritten.

    After

    mAdminSheet->deleteLater();

    is called, it is prudent to reassing pointer in openAdminSheet. The old object will continue to exist until it is removed from the queue of events in Qt.

    Hi Mhusoy,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    You have installed the latest drivers for the graphics card?

    Is - what your computer crashes alone while you play games or of otherwise?

    You can if check if the games you try playing are compatible with Windows Vista or not. Follow the link and check the details.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

    You try to install the games you play in Windows XP mode and check if you get the same question.

    Run the program compatibility Wizard

    1. Open the program compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clicking use an older with this version of Windows program.
    2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

    If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation for the program and, using the wizard disk, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

  • Sheet music shows is not on PowerVault 220 s after the Crash of the OS

    Hi all!

    Here's my situation:

    I have a PE2550 with two controllers Perc3/DC. A Perc is configured for 5 on-board hard drives, the other on the Powervault s w 220 / 12 disks (7 on Channel 4 on channel 1, 0). Crashed by the operating system (Windows 2 K - what a surprise) and it is unrecoverable. We have decided to rebuild the operating system on the 5 on-board hard drives. Initially embedded readers have been implemented in Raid-0 (don't ask--I don't know why). We decided to reconfigure with Raid-5 and install Windows 2K 3. During the process, we have removed the SCSI cables that linked the Powervault, so we would not accidentally delete any data while we reconfigured the Perc for drives shipped to Raid-5.
    Embedded readers have been setup with Raid-5 and Win2k3 has been installed successfully.
    We then reattached the cables SCSI of PowerVault back to the PE2550. Rather than see our data, we see nothing. Search in Windows disk management all we saw were two large capacity disks that were "not allocated". We have tried to assign a drive letter to them, but in both cases he asked us to format the disc - which we don't have.

    Someone at - he a has any ideas on how to move forward--and the case and that we were wrong, so that we don't make the same mistake again? !!

    Thank you!!

  • Some of the taskbar icons are blank sheets

    Some programs such as Internet Explorer, MS Outlook 2007 and iTunes are on the taskbar as blank sheets. I tried to place shortcuts on the desktop and go into properties and change icon. It has worked for other programs but the button change icon in these programs are blackened. Tried to enter the path to the programs without success.

    Is there anyway to make the icons for the programs show?

    Thank you!

    I have this problem, had to do a hard reset because of the loss of output video/media center crash on restart my Firefox Firstclass & icons are now leaves white, very annoying. Delete iconcache.db fix does not work. I was able to restore the icon to exe files, but the icons pinned Taskbar & Start menu, items do not update.
    My dose is as follows:

    Step 1:
    click Start > right click on the program in the start menu > properties > Shortcut tab > change icon > Browse (go to exe for this program) > select exe file > open > choose appropriate options icon. > ok > ok > if you get a message saying that only an administrator can do this, click on continue to apply the change.

    Step 2: start a session application & while it is running to right click on the taskbar icon > detach this program > new right click (watch now icon because it represents the application running, not the shortcut) > pin this program

    I'm not a fan of the new taskbar of the mac either style, it open & navigate several sessions of programs is tedious, especially when the previews seem to almost identical & if different programs use the same icon he adds to the confusion. Y at - it an option of the 'Classic' taskbar somewhere like the classic view for Control Panel, that they used to offer?

  • MacBook air crashes after the release of sleep since the upgrade of the sierra

    Began to notice that since I upgraded my macbook air 2015 to sierra, system crashes. The trigger is always when I wake the sleep system (whether it is by opening cover or press a key). Issue is intermittent and may not be reproduced every time. I contacted apple support and they recommended resetting the SMC (ctrl + shift + cmd) but that didn't help either. I also did a check of filesystem (fsck-fy) and which seems to be very well so.

    I noticed others seem to be faced with similar problems and a common theme that I noticed was that both we seem to have an installed tardisk. Not sure if this could be a factor?

    While it is not any loss of data, the question is certainly annoying and disruptive to work.

    The same question was observed at about 7 times since the update of the sierra. Containing the report of Etrecheck to the breast

  • Numbers of crashing on the Sierra

    I'm under that numbers on macOS 16A304a Sierra 3.6.2 build (Public Beta 6) on a mid-2010 MacBook 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo with 8 GB of RAM.

    I have a spreadsheet of costs where, as its name suggests, allows me to enter all my costs for my different bank accounts. Daily, weekly and monthly totals are calculated within the same worksheet and on another sheet of the same file, so I have an array of account balance vs time, whenever I enter a value the sheet of spending a bunch of calculations are completed. Since the upgrade to Sierra numbers has been crashing (on this worksheet only) when:

    • I do not save the document after each cell I have change
    • I wait too long to save after editing a cell - usually 5-10 seconds
    • Take more than 2-3 seconds to change a cell

    It of extremely frustrating and translates many accidents per minute. Please help because I use this everyday spreadsheet

    Thank you very much!

    Beta software can not be discussed in public forums.

    Beta software should not be run on a production system. It is intended for testing.

  • My MacBook Pro Crash 2010

    Hi, Ive had this computer almost six years without any problems, but in the last few day, he started to plant about every hour. It is a 15 inch mid 2010 MacBook pro with 8 GB of memory and running OSX El Capitan 10.11.6. When it crashes the user performs different tasks.

    It's the panic since this accident in the morning

    Any advice in what may be the cause of the problem would be appreciated.

    The cause of this kernel panic is the graphics card failure. The series of MacBook Pro 15 inch 2010-2011 with the discrete GPU has had a problem with defective graphics card. This is probably your case. Apple had a replacement program where the defective logic board has been replaced by a new one for free. It lasted for 3 years, but unfortunately now it's gone already MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid 2010) intermittent black screen or the loss of video quality program is over - Apple Support

    There is a similar thread for you to get more information what should I do when the intermittent black screen or the loss of video quality program is completed?

    In any case, I think that the best solution is to take your computer to the specialist of the investigation.

  • Mini Mac crash constantly?

    Can anyone diagnose why my mac mini Crash?

    I bought second hand and it had been updated for the last OS El Capitan (initially he would have OSX Server).  The machine looks in very good condition (physically).

    It crashed, probably about 10 times in the 3 weeks I've owned it, and use it today to watch Hulu, it crashed several times.  As a general rule, it is kept for days in a row - don't know if this is related, although of course it crashes now much today.  It also seems that it crashes during video playback, streaming or in VLC.  Usually, the mac crashes completely: the video becomes still, no noise, and nothing works (not even the ouse moves).  I have to hard reboot with the power button.  Otherwise, the machine restarts sometimes just and begins to start without a stop on images effect.

    On this last occasion (where I post this), I had spent playing a video with VLC on mute, while iTunes was playing.  I have several external drives connected, including a USB Hub and also a bluetooth keyboard, and a system audio bluetooth. The display is my TV via HDMI.

    The report of panic is less to-I do not know how to interpret it.  Can someone please help?

    Any time I see pictures, usually after several system crashes and restarts automatically. Because that's when I'm viewing images, it leads me to believe the graphics card or RAM is a failure. System is about 6 years old now.

  • iMac crashing (yet)

    And so it goes. these accidents are less frequent but still happening.

    Without apparent reason and without obvious fault with no special software.

    As a result of a systemic crash today, I reinstalled my entire suite Adobe (making sure to eliminate leftovers) and I reinstalled El Capitan. Which was followed by the white screen of doom.

    Now we seem to be up and running, but I'm not convinced how smoothly or for how long. EtreCheck report of joint...

    You can have one or more login items associated with an application that is causing your Mac crashing.

    Open system preferences > uses & groups > login items. Remove an item at a time, and then restart your Mac to test.
