iMac crashing (yet)
And so it goes. these accidents are less frequent but still happening.
Without apparent reason and without obvious fault with no special software.
As a result of a systemic crash today, I reinstalled my entire suite Adobe (making sure to eliminate leftovers) and I reinstalled El Capitan. Which was followed by the white screen of doom.
Now we seem to be up and running, but I'm not convinced how smoothly or for how long. EtreCheck report of joint...

You can have one or more login items associated with an application that is causing your Mac crashing.
Open system preferences > uses & groups > login items. Remove an item at a time, and then restart your Mac to test.
I would like to start with FontDoctorHandler.

My imac crashed resulting in a new hard drive. I downloaded Lightroom 4 according to the previous disc but none of my old photos are here
Hello
You must copy the library Lightroom (.lrcat) file and the original images from your Time Machine backup disk. If you have not created a backup on a separate time Machine unit (or other backup processes) of your iMac, then you're probably out of luck, unless the defective hard drive can be recovered.

I have a late 2012 27 "iMac with OX10.95
Intel core i7 to 3.4 ghz
For the last two months it has been mainly crashing when using photoshop CS5
and today that it crashed when I don't have photoshop open and just clicked on the Apple
logo at the top right and the download of the software.
The mac just crashes and I have to restart it by unplugging it wait about 10 min then reconnect.
Sometimes I have a crash report but not always.
I crash reports to adobe bridge and Photoshop, also for Topaz DeNoise, report and the last of them was today for Safari.
There is so much info on the crash reports that I don't know what to post, error codes were
EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) OR (SIGSEGV)
codes were KERN-PROTECTION_FAILURE at, KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at and EXC_1386_GPFLT
I've updated all my photoshop plug-ins so that they are the most up to date versions.
I "Topaz" and plug-ins macphun, I got Niki collection but I removed it in case it was the source of the problems.
I also have onone in extensions, I have the most updated version that works with CS5 (newer versions do not work)
I have reset the preferences of photoshop/bridge and purged the cache
I checked and repaired preferences
I uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop.
I checked the discs in the disc utilities that was ok
I filled Apple hardware test 3 x tests simple and extended 4 times that no problem found
I had added extra 16 GB of ram. I removed it and the same problem occurred.
This iMac was recalled for a hard drive change and at the same time a screen change was necessary. I wiped the iMac before the recall. On his return the operating system had not been reinstalled and I had to do it myself. Now, I wonder if they changed the screen and forgot to change the hard drive. This could be the problem even if it is that nothing shows up on the test hardware?
Can you advise me what to try next and what other information should I post if necessary
Thank you very much

iMac crashing and restarting on its own
Hi all
My iMac has been crashing lately and restart on its own. After trying to solve what was going on, I noticed that, just before these accidents occur, the following 2 warnings repeatedly appear on the Console:
kernel [0]: could not open the file 2
kernel [0]: vm_swap_create_file @ 1554 dry failure
During the inspection, I realized that the var, there is no /vm folder and, therefore, no swap file, that made me suspect that the problem is related to virtual memory.
I tried to launch an intensive application of memory while monitoring the use of memory through Activity Monitor and, of course, when all memory is used, the system crashes. Used swap shows 0 bytes at all times. In comparison, my MacBook Air has always a certain amount of used Swap data, even if some memory is used.
I tried to verify if the virtual memory was somehow disabled, by using 'sudo launchctl load-w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.dynamic_pager.plist' but it seems that the service is already loaded.
I'm at a loss and need help. Someone at - it clues about what is happening?

In the Photos, I try to edit the photo, open the extensions and choose the Photos Extension stamp. The opening of the app, but as soon as I select one of the options, the application crashes. I tried to open the application outside the Photos and import a picture to the desktop computer, but the result was the same. Anyone having problems with this app or other extensions in Photos?

iMac crashing every day, why?
Quite frustrated as to why my iMac (early 2009) crashes all day, sometimes twice a day. Here are the technical details:
Using OS X vs 10.8.5
Processor - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 duo
Memory - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512 MB
I read that the upgrade of the OS would be useful, but I use Adobe PS CS5 daily and can't afford to risk having problems help
This software. I can't afford (financially) to buy a new computer at the moment and would prefer not to use cloud software.
In addition, bearing in mind that it might be a problem of memory, when I use PS or Firefox, I try not to use both
at the same time, but even that is not serious. And it seems to happen when you use the program, not one or the other.
Maybe I should stop using Firefox for a while and go to Safari? Maybe this would help?
Finally, is it possible just to upgrade to a newer version (compatible w / PS CS5) without having to go to El Capitan?
Any suggestions out there?
Thank you in advance ~

How to check what extension program / crashes my iMac?
I finally got my iMac fixed enough that it starts up fine, but I'm still having a problem with the iMac crashing after start-up.
I mentioned that after you install a printer, it crashed when I hit print on demand, the iMac has crashed (Gardner up, couldn't move, have to force out)
I think that is an extension has been altered (because I can start it up with extensions off the coast), or the printer get a glimpse when I hit print the first time trying to resume at startup. As I said, I can start it upward with extensions, then, how can I check what is the question?
The other way I can get to not plant is in the Mac OS X startup 10.0.3, which I didn't know was already installed on the iMac, so it's certainly a problem with OS 9 standard getting started.
Mac OS 9, you use the Manager of Extensions to turn system extensions, up to you to determine one (or more) that is causing the problem. If you think that it is related to a printer driver, disable the one you recently installed.
Extensions Manager is accessible from the menu bar, Apple menu-> Control Panel-> Manager of Extensions

mdworker crashes constantly; Spotlight re-indexes
I searched the internet and all communities, trying to find a solution to my problem of focus. I have posted in some other forums and re - write here in a way more organized these positions as well as additional information.
I recently moved my administrative user account to a former mac via firewire/lightning connection, using the application of migration. Since that time, my iMac, with the last update of El Capitan, has been continuously indexing. It takes hours (I transferred about 500 GB of files), then works OK for a short time and then starts again indexing. I have my hard drive moved into the party 'private life' Spotlight preferences and back, causing the re-indexing. I deleted the Spotlight index and was re - index by terminals of disc used to check my hard drive, used Onyx to rebuild the permissions and Utility Spotlight re-indexing. Spotlight takes a few hours to re - index, seems to work fine for a short period and then begins the reindex operation and is not available for use once more. It completely slowed down my work to a crawl, since I use Spotlight continues to extract and compare files and folders, as well as launch applications.
I noticed on the newspapers of crash mds_stores crashes and have had the crash mdworker almost everyday. SophosWebintelligence crashed on similar, but not always the same days. I deleted the software anti-viral Sophos, placed my hard drive in the section "Confidentiality" of Spotlight prefs to stop continuous indexing, started in safe mode, rebooted my desktop computer, from my hard drive out of the privacy settings, authorized Spotlight AGAIN index my drive hard for the night and thought that my problem was resolved. It lasted a day. It is now the reindexing and crash newspapers are mds_stores crashed again, but now, looking at the Console during indexing, mdworker hangs mili-second per second mili! Under diagnostic reports from users, it lists mdworker_2016 - 06 - _Dorks (several times) - iMac.crash on and under the diagnostic system reports lists mds_stores_2001 - 06-(plusieurs fois) _Dorks - iMac.crash. I also noticed that in the newspapers:
30/06/16 7:10:46.589 AM mdworker [9839]: warning: the selector Gestalt gestaltSystemVersion returns 10.9.5 instead of 10.11.5. This isn't a bug in Gestalt - it is a documented restriction. The NSProcessInfo operatingSystemVersion property to get the correct version number of system.
Location of the call:
Not sure that the above is the thing most relevant in the newspapers, but never had any problems on my most recent mac until I made the mistake to migrate my account from my old mac user. Don't know what NSProcessInfo is, but you do a search.
If anyone has any suggestions, they would be very appreciated. If any additional info would be useful, I would be happy to do so. I didn't want to post too much useless here and unnecessarily take too much of your time. I apologize for the changes of fonts, but could not figure out how to copy and paste while keeping the same style.
The first step is to get rid of "Sophos," which could be the cause of the problem and that is certainly worse than useless.
Please remove the 'Sophos' product by following the instructions on this page, so this one, if any. If you have a different version, the procedure may be different.
Back up all data before making any changes. Never install a software "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" again.

All new iMac 5K random restarts
I'm a Mac "veteran" (since 1994) user, but the recent behavior of my iMac end 2015 27 "5 K told me at the end of my piece:
After initial installation and configuration, the iMac just started rebooting randomly during the night. (It remained always off, never sleep.)
The only "smoking gun", I could find was the following:
localhost kernel [0]: cause of previous stop:-128
I talked to AppleCare a couple of times, my case has since been pushed up on their level 2 support. So far - no solution found.
Here are the things I've tried (I think that I have...):
- Reset the SMC
- Reset the PRAM
- Most threaded the LaunchAgents and LaunchDemons
- Re-installed Mac OS X 10.11.3
- Implemented a new white 'test' user and restarted in Mode safe
- Even in the 'Safe' Mode, strange things happen: after the rest (as a user 'test') for a day of two, the iMac "crashes" i.e. the screen remains empty and mouse or keyboard or "Power On" button on the back of the iMac are able to wake up the machine.
- Also in 'Safe Mode' I get these trucks:
[watchdog_daemon] @(wd_daemon_init) - could not open connection with the watchdog of the kernel
Short of "nuking & paving" the machine, has anyone got any ideas of what might help?
Or it sounds like a hardware bug?
Any help appreciated,
Greetings from Berlin,
Jan
Mine does exactly the same thing. Often during the night when it is idling. I only had the machine about 2 weeks.

Since how long have you installed your 3rd party RAM?
I would say running Rember from one day to the next
http://www.kelleycomputing.NET/rember/>
Adjustment buckles: Maximum of [X]
It's just a guess, because I see nothing jumping on me, but 3rd party RAM is a cause of kernel panics, especially when there is no other obvious source.

Windows 7 / Vista crashed and I can't format
Hello
I bought my computer (a Dell Vostro s 220) a few years ago (I think it's in 2008 or 9) and it never gave me any problems until now. I played a game and all of a sudden got weird screen, the collapsed computer and the blue screen appeared telling me to restart my computer or talk with the support team. Well, I restarted my computer and, since I was already planing of the to do, I decided to make a backup of my files to format my PC (I also think it might be a virus).Unfortunately, he crashed again during my backup and I couldn't restart this time (the blue screen appears before that my computer has finished starting). Then I went into settings on the home screen and configured to start with the CD, and then I put my copy of Windows inside it reinstal. but he could not reach the part of the installation.Three things could happen with us: it would stop working on counting for me to press any key to start the installation or it would allow me to press a button, but it does not recognize my code of Windows or it would stop working after I pressed the button.I decided to sleep, because it was getting late and when I woke up, I tried once more and this time I could access the screen where you partitionate the disc so that I could start the Windows installation. During installation, he says it could restart the computer several times so I went to have breakfast. When I went back to my room the blue screen was there again... I think it happened on one of the restarts or over time. But I don't undestand, I cleaned the disc completely in the part of the score before the instalation started so why would it crash yet (if it was a virus)? And I open my CPU and everything seemed fine to me even if I'm not an expert in this area. Now, I'm back again and this time my computer has no BONES.Thanks in advancePS: I bought my computer on a promotion of Dell where I'd buy a Vista and they would give me later a 7 when it is released, what happened, but because of that, it seems to me that I must reinstal Vista and then reinstal 7. In any case I can't do. Also Dell does not by default Windows CD, it gives a they do instead so that they can put their own thing (because the computer is partially predefined by the buyer), but the intallation of Windows is exactly the same as normal or at least it should be. Also, sorry for my bad English is not my mother tongue.Just answer:
1. No, I have not any change on my system before the issue, at least not directly with me aware.2. I couldn't see if there was an error code, now that you said I think it would have been a good idea if there is a.3. I used to play Civilization V, for some reason any this game asked almost 100% of the CPU performance, I think that might have been a problem as well.4. to backup nothing specific happened, it just crashed again and I couldn't finish the PC more, the error appears again.5 no, I can't start in safe mode, I was able to uninstall Windows, but cannot reinstal it now, the computer always plant the ways I already said.Well, thank you for the help, but I think it's too late for that now, I have to reinstal Windows but there is no way to do it now. The problem is probably with little material, I'll have to take my computer to a technician here.Thank you once again
