10 blackBerry browser functionality: move to next bookmark

Hey. I would like a feature of the browser. When you drag right left (except if you scroll so if you are at the center of a page) it clears the browser with a transition of the wipe and load your next bookmark. You could go in your bookmarks easily in this way. Any thoughts?

Hello

Seems interesting. I heard they will have suggestions to blackberry.icanmakeitbetter.com.

Good luck!

  • Is there a way to get the owner of BlackBerry phone to the BlackBerry browser number?

    We are trying to identify the user by their BlackBerry phone number in a web application Java running on a WebSphere version 6.1 application server (JDK5.0). BlackBerry users access the application through BlackBerry browser. Is it possible to get the phone from the owner of the number with type of JavaScript code and pass the phone back number to the Web server? Has anyone done this type of programming?

    We use curve and BlackBerry Torch.

    Thank you in advance.

    It is not possible to read the phone number of the user of the BlackBerry browser application.  There is no object of JavaScript in the context of the browser which allows a web site to access this type of information (or the browser exposes this info).

    However, during the incorporation of an object browser in a Java application (for example using the framework WebWorks, or creating an application of Java-Web hybrid from scratch), you have the ability to access the necessary telephone API which allows you to read the active phone number.

    One suggestion would be to create a BlackBerry application using the WebWorks platform, which support your JSP page.  Your users then install and use this client on their BlackBerry (instead to access the content via the browser), and then you can use device API such as the phone API to add functionality for your application.

    Sincerely,

    Adam

  • Z30 Z30 blackBerry browser chewing GBs Data Mobile both

    At my Z30 for about a week. Checked the mobile data this morning and it is around 250 MB.

    Before my departure, I have linked to an IP camera and went full screen using the browser not FLASH. (Camera IP android) I then closed the browser completely

    I got in my car and used cards to send me to a destination of 35 minutes.  On the way, I received an alert that I had chewed up to 75% of my mobile data plan. At the time that I arrived at my destination I had chewed around a go. I disabled the Mobile Data. Removed from the browser history and restarted the phone. In no time at all she consumed on another 600 MB.

    In its current form the browser used 2.3 GB then PIM Services 102.7 MB followed Facebook to 22,4 MB. Outside emails, I don't usually use a large part of my Mobile Data.

    He had not exhausted all the data over WIFI.

    I stop the bleeding? Don't want to pay for ove GB GB of mobile data for nothing!

    That's right, it's a security camera running on an old android phone. The camera application: http://download.cnet.com/IP-Webcam/3000-2139_4-75616533.html

    I understand that when you are connected to the camera via my Blackberry browser I consume data. I can adjust the quality of streaming on the client to increase or decrease the quality.

    The camera application supports java / flash / mpeg and HTML 5.

    The problem is that the streaming continues to chew data once the browser has been closed, not only reduced to a minimum in the background. Even after I deleted the browser history and restarted the phone, he continued to chew data.

    I was able to reproduce the problem. If I connect to the camera and try you run the java applet, I get an error message that the media is not compatible and cannot be played. When I select BROWSER/HTML5 video stream starts and continues even after the browser is closed.

    If I go directly to HTML5, everything works fine.

    I suspect bad or incompatible code between the camera application and the blackberry browser.

    Now using the app CAM TINY and everything works fine.

    Cost me $30 data to learn my lesson...

    Thanks for your comments

  • Blackberry browser applications

    I'm developing a web application using Oracle's JDeveloper. How can I determine if a request was initiated by a Blackberry user, so I can go back a page that fits well on this device.

    I'm not sure that's exactly what you asked, but you should be able to get the value HTTP_USER_AGENT that a BlackBerry browser device sends to your server, and allows to customize the output that you provide.

    Currently, the user agent for the PlayBook seems to be:

    Mozilla/5.0 (PlayBook; U; RIM Tablet OS 1.0.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.1.0.7 Safari/534.11+

    You'll want to identify that user agents are for the different devices you want to support and do a people search string.

  • BlackBerry browser not considered handheld?

    I'm developing a simple asp.net web application for BlackBerry that I also want to use the world "PC."  The key is, if it's a BlackBerry browser, I want to use small fonts.  If it is a PC version, I want to use larger fonts.  This seems to be a job for CSS with indicators of media.  I tried all sorts of things, and the BB browser does not appear to the application as a pocket computer.  Then, is another way, other than media indicator to determine?  Or y at - it a way to get the BB to present itself as a handheld computer?

    I'm hand-coding this app.  I have the free version of VS installed, and the Widgets BB app will not work with it.  I don't have the money to spend on a full version of VS right now, so I stick with hand coding.

    I am certain - that of a 'child' about CSS and how it works, so if anyone can 'hold my hand' on it, I'd be happy.

    Thank you

    Jesse

    BlackBerry screens have a very high resolution compared to PC screens (e.g. storm is 184 dpi) in order to select the appropriate font is to use the 'min-resolution' media selector, for example

    body, html
    {
        font-size: [whatever is appropriate for PC];
    }

    @media all and (min-resolution: 175dpi)
    {
        body, html
        {
            font-size: [whatever is appropriate for BlackBerry];
        }
    }

    Either way, you specify the sizes of fonts using pt or px? The reason I ask is that if you use px, then you will find on devices with very high resolution you actually use a larger font than on the PC, if you want it to be readable.

  • Smartphones blackBerry browser does not load

    Hello

    When I try to load a web page on my 9700 bb "BOLD" device, the browser does not load the page and what I see is a white screen. battery pull solves the problem, but the problem occurs again and again and I don't want to reset my phone every day.

    can anyone help, pls? Thank you

    Open your BlackBerry browser > press the Menu key > Options > Cache and clear your browser's cache (you can even clear the cookies as well, same place).

    Now do another reboot (turned on, battery pull, etc.)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Yellow Pages - how to get back my blackberry browser

    Hello

    For some reason any my Blackberry (9000 with Telstra 3 G Australia) when I clicked on the Internet browser is now default Yellow Pages he used will be defined on the Blackberry browser option. With this Blackberry connection it detects my network domestic wi - fi and use wi - fi before using the Blackberry internet browser option.

    I see that the wi - fi option is set to automatic and that it has detected my home wi - fi, but it connects to him when I press on the Web browser. It seems to go directly to this Yellow Pages browser option.

    My browser has NOW the following

    * Hotspot Login

    * Yellow pages

    * Telstra business portal

    It USED to have

    * Hotspot Login

    * Blackberry (something or rather)

    * Telstra business portal

    I want to know is how to fix my Blackberry browser the option back and get rid of this thing of yellow pages?

    Thank you

    HiOzBBerry42

    I spent all day until now talk to Telstra who weren't able to help me, they put me in support of the RIM. I just got on a conference call with RIM and Telstra.

    Apparently, Telstra did change the name of the browser to the Yellow Pages with mobile. yellow pages as home page. Telstra work with RIM to find how to change the name of the browser Internet browser. Phew... what a day.

    Now, we should just work if the change that Telstra has decided to do is also the cause of why my "BOLD" will pick up my house WI-FI, but does not connect to the to use when I go in the browser (as it usually don't do any problems before they changed the name).
