I have the same problem. The same thing on my iPad as well. I don't know if the problem is the iOS app or the latest version of iTunes that came out at the same time.

  • iPad 3 Mini + iOS 10 + iTunes 11.4 - compatible?

Hello.  I plan to update my iPad iOS 10 Mini 3.  Before that, I wanted to ensure that I would not immediately be in compatibility with other hardware/software problems.  Here's what's in the mix:

    1. iPad Mini 3 (model MH3L2LL/A), running iOS 8.3.  I have everything backed up the Mini via iTunes to my old desktop Mac, which is...

    2. an old Mac Pro (MacPro4, 1) running Mac OS X 10.6.8.  Yes, it's an old Mac with an old OS (which runs great... I've been waiting for the replacement for the current model from the 'bottle' Mac Pro... "I'll probably die before Tim releases who, but I digress). For iPad Mini backups, synchronization, etc., I use...

    3 iTunes on the Mac 11.4 (18)

My concern: I'm looking to avoid triggering a cascade of updates required (from iTunes and Mac OS) which would deadlock with me being unable to synchronize the iPad (which will run iOS 10) because she would need to a later version of iTunes, or a more recent version of Mac OS.

Check for updates in iTunes 11.4, it says ' this version of iTunes (11.4) is the current version. "  No doubt this is a half-truth, and it's really just the last version, which runs on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (I'm sure that there is a newer version of iTunes).  I'm not going to update the version of Mac OS X running on the old Mac Pro (I'll replace it the machine later, but not right now).

    So, my question of compatibility:

Using my existing Mac running Mac OS X (10.6.8) and iTunes (11.4), If I update my iPad Mini 3 iOS 10, I will always be able to sync, backup, etc. the iPad Mini 3 to my Mac via iTunes?

Hope that above all makes sense.

    Thanks for your help.

(wasn't sure what community to put this-I chose iPad, but could of course also go to several others)

You're in trouble. iOS 10 must 12.5.1. Update your iTUnes is required to the installation iOS10 (if you install via iTunes)

You can always upgrade, but you will not be able to synchronize with your mac.

  • Apps should now be updated on both iPhone and iTunes

Before the latest iTunes update, if an application has been updated on the phone or on iTunes, it would update each other through sync.

Now, an application must be updated in BOTH iPhone and iTunes. I used to always update the app on the iPhone and then sync, cancelling the need to update in iTunes.

Why do we know must update the application twice instead of once made previously? He could do a little faster sync without having to download on iTunes, but that savings is probably lost when need to also download in iTunes.

I synchronize at least once a day.

You see the thinning introduced with iOS App 9. When you download an app from the App Store directly on the device, it downloads a specific application for that device and download only the features that work on this device. This is done to save space on the device. Apps for transfer is no longer the device to iTunes, so they must always be updated in iTunes as well as on the device.

You can find more about this with your own research, but here are a few articles, you can watch.

  • I deleted my pictures and videos to free up space on my iPhone 6, but the settings and iTunes still say that I've not left storage. Help, please.

    Hello

I have an iPhone 6 and uses iOS 9.3.2,and I recently deleted all my pictures and videos to free up space, "Manage the storage" in still however said circles I 23.4 GB of photos/videos like iTunes when I connect my iPhone to my Mac. I deleted my recently deleted folder and follow the instructions of a guy showing a year, which suggests to set my phone date about two years back and deleting the photos recently deleted the file and both of these solutions do not work. I have reset my phone (home and power button operation / stop) and also, it does not work. I don't want to wipe my phone and restore it if possible, but it's the only option I can think of next.

Are there other solutions before I try this?

    Thanks in advnace

    Ben

    Hey Ben,

Thanks for stopping by the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you are trying to free up space on your iPhone by deleting all the photos and videos, and you still see 23.4 GB absorbed by these files. You have already made sure to empty your recently deleted album, fix the date of return on your phone and performed a hard reset on your device. You did an excellent job so far, and I'll be happy to give you some ideas to move forward from here.

Before diving into other troubleshooting procedures, it would be useful to ensure that you have a recent backup of your iPhone is available. This will help us ensure that all your important data is stored safely for you. Here is an article with information on how to backup your device:

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Once it is in place, I recommend you to reset the settings on your phone. This is not the impact of your personal data, but you will have to perhaps adjust the user specific settings, but also re - enter passwords and Wi - Fi networks. To complete this step, go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings. When you restart your phone, check if the local storage on your phone has updated to reflect the changes you did related to your photos and videos.

Beyond that, you want to look at your phone erase and reset to the factory settings. It is possible that some kind of software corruption causes the divergence of storage that you are experiencing. Set up your phone as a new device via iTunes install a new copy of iOS and also to exclude the corrupted files, etc. in your user data. This is a resource for this process:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

For later use, it may be useful to use iCloud photo library to transfer and store your photos. There is a feature that allows you to optimize the storage on your iPhone so that your photos and your videos do not have as much local storage space. Check out this resource to learn more about iCloud photo library:

  • iPhone 4 cannot be updated (iOS and apps)

    Hello community

I have an iPhone 4 with an iOS installed 7.1.2. I am trying to download a new application that I did not and I get the message "unable to download. "This app requires iOS 8 or newer. So I can't update the iOS and of course it is not possible to obtain a new application or even to update an already installed application.

What can I do with this? Can I do something to get my app that I need?

  • How can I organize my music with iTunes and iTunes game folder?

I used iTunes for Windows for a few years and 2 years ago started with iTunes game. There are 81 000 files in my folder of music, with 35 000 files in a subfolder of my iTunes. iTunes has about 10,000 songs. Some songs are in my music only and some are in the music/iTunes/media folder. Some are both. With 81 000 files, it is impossible to set this manually. Is it possible to do this with iTunes?  I've never played music with other programs. Is the set of the 'my music' folder in Windows managed by iTunes?  I have a double file Finder application that will get rid of DUP, but I worry that a lot of the music is not in iTunes game. How can I fix the entire folder? Where can I I start again with iTunes game?

No preference, but there is a solution. See moving backup iOS device. See the rest of the tip of the user to do a split cell library if the library files and the media folder are on different drives.

  • "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes" AND "iTunes can not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a password" error message on the phone and the computer! Help!

So I recently had my password wrong too many times and my iPhone 4S locked out telling me "iPhone is disabled; Connect to iTunes'. And so I connected to iTunes and decided to restore my phone. I finished the process of restoration of the configuration of my phone, but ultimately, it was not even let me in the phone! Once AGAIN he said "iPhone is disabled; " Connect " to iTunes '. However, this time, this message appeared just when I turned on my phone with a black background. I didn't scan the screen for the error message is displayed (and there was no time to be shown). When I tried to connect to iTunes again as he asked, now it says "iTunes can not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a password".

So now, he said "iPhone is disabled; ' Connect to iTunes' on my iPhone 4S and ''iTunes can't connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a password ' on my computer. WHAT should I do?

As described in step 2 of "Erase your device with iTunes" in this article, you will need to use the Recovery Mode.

Recovery mode is described in this article as well.  You may try to go into recovery mode more than once to succeed.
