    Hello
my laptop is satellite A40-231, I have a problem for days.

When I open any browser (I tried firefox, IE and chrome) I can't watch the video, everything is slowing down, I can't navigate between pages.

I took a quick glance to the use of the cpu and it increase to 100%, it never decreases. When I close the browser, the CPU usage drops to 15%, which is normal. I thought it might be a virus that internet connection and make things slower. That's why I format my laptop. I deleted all of my hard drive and reformatted. I installed Windows again, but he has not changed. I even installed ubuntu (I thought maybe virus can not work under ubuntu), but it's the same thing. I turn on my laptop and I open a browser and the laptop slows. I have clean the cpu fan it has not helped.

I tried to solve it for days I could not sleep properly, I'm about to cry :(

    Please help me please.

    Hello

You have reinstalled Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk? This drive will restore the settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools so everything should work fine after that.

In addition this happens with LAN or WLAN connection? You should try it with the other connection.
Also check your router and update the firmware. Try to disable the encryption, MAC address filtering, etc.

RAM: 4 GB with 3.80 GB usable
and the type of system is the 64-bit operating system
    I have windows 7
And no, it's not a connection problem.
Also my CPU usage when you play the game will no more than 54% (mainly bounces between 23% and 40%). and my ram is stable enough to 53%

I think first we should know something on your system, then you should run some respectable malware removal tools and then only start troubleshooting of any problems (unless you just want to start guessing and try things).

Because the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know almost nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

No matter what you use to antivirus/antimalware protection please follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
  • Svchost.exe causing 100% cpu usage during the update of windows, even when disconnected.

I recently had to re - install windows xp on a new hard drive for replacement. My version of xp home edition, SP2 OEM installation disc. (This is ith group included IE6)

Once installed and running, could access windows update.

Read all the threads associated etc. and installed SP3, disc after downloading microsoft on another pc. Installed after three trys, first two caused various mistakes, but third attempt seems OK!

I've also updated the IE6 to IE8, as some sites obviously did not work properly with the older browser.

Now go do the automatic updates, or log for manual updates... BUT!

During the process, my cpu fan comes on fast and permanently! The CPU usage is showing that 100%, pc slows to crawl, the mouse becomes slow etc.

This has never happened before on this machine before you reinstall clean, he had already automatically updated to SP3 and went very well, it was some time ago, before the failure of hard drive, and it has never had this problem!

Only since having to do a cleaning manual update and re - install.

The culprit seems to be svchost.exe, once it is used by the update, running the cpu at 100% and continues to do so EVEN after stopping the service, until I manually stop with the Task Manager!

The svchost.exe instance showing a high is use: SYSTEM.

According to the files of help here, it is a known issue and a fix KB927891 was issued for SP2, but this should NOT be necessary for SP3, and in fact difficulty used to perform anyway under SP3!

Ideas for a guy to fix?

I appreciate the support for XP runs out quickly, and after this update of windows will be redundant, but in the meantime it is always useful!

Also if I turn off the automatic updates, how can I stop this annoying popup warning bubble?... I can't live without updating, but this bubble nag drives you nuts! :)

OK just a update, now running cool and 100% auto update and manual update... How? I hear you ask...

Well I had a beer and a reflection and came to the conclusion, it must be 'order' in which I updated the clean installation of XP.

Origin, I loaded the old OEM disc new hard disk, loaded the drivers etc, then stop at windows update for updated files.

Who told me my old incompatible browser and suggested an upgrade.

I downloaded and installed IE8... still no joy, reading the forums comments I downloaded and installed SP3... which SEEMED to work, BUT then all the hassle of cpu to 100% with the automatic update and updated manual on the windows don't update site!

So I just gritted my teeth, formatted the drive, another OEM of XP Home Edition SP2 installation loaded the drivers, installed a copy saved to SP3 and after restarting, THEN installed a saved copy of IE8 and THEN trotted off the coast to the windows update site... low and behold, it the connection without problem, did a search, and required updates appeared on the screen without delay all 123 of them...! :)

Did the updates, restarted and everything was fine, updates automatic in market and left the machine, after about 30 minutes appears the yellow shield, and it downloads a couple more update files without problem.

All this time I followed the via the Task Manager CPU usage and the strange spike waited 100% apartment, it was on average from 5 to 20%!...so a great improvement has this effect, by simply changing the order of the updates installed from the original! SP3 IE before IE8.

May not work for all have to do a clean install because of the HD failed, but its worked for me, and I am once more a "happy bunny!

    Dave was soon.

  • iTunes uses 100% CPU usage

Hi, I use the latest version of iTunes 12.3.3 on Windows 7 64 - bit with Intel Core i5 and 8 GB of RAM. Whenever I run iTunes, everything becomes so slow. I checked my PC's performance in the Task Manager and the CPU usage is 100%. The strangest part is that even if I close iTunes, it still consumes my CPU at 100%. I tried to reinstall several times. I even downloaded it three times but nothing helped.

    Hi salonpas,.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with iTunes on your PC. Let's see if we can get smooth it.

Now, I know that you have already uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, but you did in the order indicated in the article below. If this is not done in this order, usually issues will remain when you use iTunes. The order in which it should be done is this.

    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4. Hello
    5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
    6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

Once you have done this, try installing again.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and the components of the software for Windows 7 and later versions

Let me know if it helps.

  • Why my svchost.exe process constantly runs at 100% CPU usage?

Recently, my computer was extremely slow.  I thought that was the cause of a worm or virus but after I used Norton to take care of that my system is still slow right too. When I checked my system process, its display svchost.exe using a massive amount of memory. Therefore, my CPU usage is constantly at 100%.  Is it still the result of a bug? Or do I have to look elsewhere as the source of the problem? Thank you

It is possible that a recent update of Norton was faulty or caused one conflict with another program on the PC.

Activity excessive svchost.exe is often linked to one of the following:

1 resource hog like Norton or McAfee (sad but true)

2 be linked in Microsoft Update instead of Windows Update

    3. after having been updated for Windows Search 4.0 and its endless reindexing

    4. the presence of malware

Unless you have uninstalled Norton AND used their removal tool, I doubt you really deleted ALL occurrences of Norton!

FWIW, I helped a neighbor recently with his performance problem. The culprit in his case was Windws Search 4.0. And since there is no entry in the Control Panel Add / Remove programs to KB940157, I needed to follow the instructions offered by Nepatsfan here:

    http://help.WUGNET.com/Windows/uninstall-Windows-search-Windows-XP-KB940157-ftopict624142.html

  • Why my always 100% CPU usage and what is RegSvcs.exe uses 50% of it?

    Hi people,

I think I need urgent help though.

Recently, I thought I downloaded malware that is injected with the Trojan horse. And now, I believe that the Trojan horse lies in my computer. I did this because my CPU usage is always at 100% even when I just restarted my com. Initially, I found there was a program called dgen.exe running in my computer to a 60% of CPU usage. Never so, I remove the dgen.exe from my computer but I don't know if I remove it entirely. Now, I'll have another program called RegSvcs.exe in my computer operating at 50 percent CPU usage. I googled out and it says it may or may not be required by windows and it could be a trojan virus as well. That's why there at - it anyone who can enlighten me on this?

I have to delete or to update or something?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

    PHMEC

By far, this is related to the Malwarebytes with steam being far behind.  Your Cpu & your HD and combination of slow down the computer.

I would remove MBAM at least to test

  • Satellite C670D-10W - Task Manager shows 100% CPU usage

My new laptop with windows 7 factory-installed and all programs by Toshiba nothing addded present 100% of the CPU usage in the task Manager and works quite slow. The sum of 80 strange process in the Task Manager is never more than 30 to 50%, but the key is always 100%.

Process hacker I tried 2, shows the same process in Task Manager.
    What can be the problem?

    Hey Malki,

He run a background process and they need the CPU usage that of normal. Antivirus is running in the background like other tools as well. As far as I know after the installation of recovery the defragmentation tool runs also in the background.

Interesting to know is what problem you have. I mean usually the CPU usage is not important if you can do everything and computer works correctly.

    You have problems?

  • My laptop is often spiking to 100% CPU usage and always > 10%, with a physical memory to 25% + even though I have no programs running

Recently, I reformatted the drive, reinstalled Windows and have no personal data on this subject. The only application there is office, which I am not, using McAffee and my browser:-I use it mainly for web browsing.

It seems to happen mostly when I was using the browser, then left the machine for a few hours, then come back and tried to use it again. I turned off the screen saver and specify power options to keep permannently because she seems to be that the question was restartinjg rest. When the CPU usage is at its peak, and I try to return to the browser (or whatever it is) it may take some minutes to answer - just to load the Control Panel, for example.

I can see from the Manager tasks, which is currently running, but ideas on how to identify the process that all take this resource, I can stop safely and therefore to save resources?

    Processes are:-

    CSRSS
    DWM
    Explorer
    mcagent
    MSASCui
    rundl32
    Sidebar
    taskeng
    Taskmgr
    Winlogon

Also a lot of services - too many to list!

All the processes you list, apart from mcagent, which is McAfee, are essential components of Windows. If you finish one of them outside the sidebar of your computer stops working to a greater or lesser degree. You could try gadgets on sidebar of closing in case one of them is wrong to behave.

Another thing that can cause the CPU to boost with no application running is Windows Update and probably analysis and updates from McAfee.

Don't you have the CPU column shows in the Task Manager, so that you can see which process is using most of the CPU? What processor is it? What is a heart?

A better tool than the Manager of the tasks for these circumstances is Process Explorer.

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653

Process Explorer is a chart of the CPU where you can put the mouse on a cob and it will tell you what process is using most of the CPU.

There is an introduction to Process Explorer here.

    http://Channel9.msdn.com/events/TechEd/NorthAmerica/2010/WCL314

As for the memory of 25%, 25% of what? Computer laptop 2 GB I write this on shows 42% of physical memory used with any running application. It's Windows. It's big enough.

In your situation, one thing I would try would be to uninstall McAfee (run the removal tool then http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507) and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

  • Older games causes rundll32.exe to open and 100% CPU usage

Gameux.dll, Rundll32.exe, the CPU usage and no internet! : D what a pleasure!

From some (mostly older) games rundll32.exe causes opening with Gameux.dll and is 100% of the CPU usage. I know that it's because she's trying to connect to internet, I did not. What is my alternative to make my games work again! I want to delete game explore all together, but Microsoft didn't really care to add such an option. If I can't find out tomorrow night, I'm going to start in a 2nd OS and delete the dll, and if Win7 stops working, I will be switching back to Windows XP.

    All the solutions!

I thought it was a pretty well known problem that the Games Explorer does not work in offline mode? He opened Rundll32.exe to run Gameux.dll and idling with 100% use of a nucleus. I think that this problem has been around since the beginning of Windows Vista (or at least since the dawn of Windows 7, not tried this problem under vista).

WHAT, for anyone reading this in the future (Google or otherwise), I found a Solution. (Not a pretty, I take no responsibility, but it worked twice for me).

I went into the registry (Regedit.exe)
    CTRL + F (find)
    Looking for the GameUX,
and whenever she finds one, I deleted it. excluding results within areas such as "{xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx}", no need to remove those. but all other entries GameUX, including directories (not sure of the term suitable for registry entries)

Anyway, long story short, I fixed it by removing each entry in registry GameUX that I could find. all games work now, even offline! : D

  • High CPU usage when more than 30 sessions disconnection/connection

    Hi guys,.
I had this problem for a long time.
Environment: RAC 10.2.0.5. Oracle enterprise linux 4.8. Application Java B2C with dbcp and oc4j dirver.

Server type: Dell R815. 48 processors 128 G MEM for each node.

This is a lot of the web application connects to the database and when one of them is down it will restart soon and try to connect to the database again. Each of them will try to get 50 connections simultaneously initially.

So when it happens, the sys cpu usage % will pass to more than 70, 80, 90 percent each time.

BTW, it also happens in more than 30 logout simultaneously.

Could someone tell me what the problem is?

    Thank you very much.

The task of creating a connection and the session must be serialized, and if you start a number of connection or disconnection is trying at the same time you can end up with a storm of activity on the relevant latches that effects serious knockon. I'm a little surprised that you see that with only 30 to 50 connections, but maybe you have a couple of processors.

I made some comments to this topic on another thread a while ago: Re: generals to have a high value of the init process (or sessions) parameter

It is possible that you can configure the application server in order to limit the speed at which he tries to create or cancel the connection - for example, there may be configuration settings to say things like: 'create no more than 5 both', 'just wait a second between disconnections. (Oracle introduced parameters to logoff storms - but maybe they don't work in your version).

  • DW.exe 100% CPU usage

I use DW CS3 on a Dell XP - SP2, 1gig of Ram, processor 1.6 ghz laptop. After 15 to 30 minutes of normal behavior DW starts using 99% CPU (according to Windows Task Manager) cycles for 3 to 5 minutes, actually freeze the system. This can happen all by changing the normal code, or it may occur when absolutely nothing is happening. It will then release the system, but when you click on something, it goes straight 99% CPU usage. It does not seem to be associated with file transfers, but the Task Manager is "I/o other" activity as if it's something on the internet.

    Any thoughts there?
    Thank you!!!

OK, I'll give it a try. Thanks a lot for your help. I appreciate it!
