  How to migrate essbase application for v 6.1 v 11
  
  I'm unable to add essbase Server 6 (windows server 2003) in the 11.1.1.1(linuc RHEL5) eas.

  I want to copy my planning application from one machine to another (with exactly the same operational systems)
  I did it by database Archive
  
  1. on the original machine
  EE: Application-> database database->(Right click menu)
  
  2 copied the file archived on the target machine
  
  3 on the target computer
  create THE SAME application in hyperion planning and done as follows
  EAS:application-> database database->(Right click menu) Resrore
  
  @Refresh succeeded to @.
  And changed the outline in EAS
  
  But nothing changes in the planning application. How to refresh the planning scheme?

  John is correct, I totally missed the detail that you archived of essbase database and makes the automatic assumption that you had saved/archived planning of the SQL database.

  The "schema" in a planning application is 'stored' in planning using the SQL repository. The Essbase outline is the analytic representation of this sketch of planning.

  To really migrate a planning application, in a way or another, you must copy the repository SQL planning in the application you are setting up, and then refresh to Essbase so going this route.

  FWIW, here is a list of the major steps that I used in the past to migrate 9.3 - 11 Planning (manually):

• Backup Application Essbase, perform the export level 0
  
• Backup database to Application Planning
  
• An inventory of safety, dimensions, performance parameters, forms and States
  
• 11, create the new application with the same Types of Plan, same currency and set of business rules
  
• Stop planning in the 11 database object, move, to re-create the database object and import 9.3 database
  
• Apply upgrade SQL scripts
  
• ALTER table to reflect the version and Shared/Server location
  
• Start the Application and validate the inventory
  
• Import level 0 in Essbase
  
• Test

  I would like to know the steps to migrate an application ASO of Prod to QA environment. I think my request for Prod is corrupted and I want the same migrating my application in QA test.

  * I know I need to export the data of level 0 of my request for ASO. But how do I do this?

  * Also, let me know what files should I copy prod request to the newly created application of QA?

  Personally, if you are on any modern version of the stack of the EMP, the LCM approach, assuming that you have enough disk space on the drive to record export Shared Services LCM, seems to be the best way to go.  But you could use the migration of EAS and export/import wizard data of level zero on your own as well.

  I'm starting to write my thesis on data migration at the APEX.
  I have a master application running in our society and a few copies to run on other servers partners. When I make a change in the main application or in its database, how to make all the changes to other applications of the partners?
  I will write on the possibilities of how to do this. To get an informed perspective, I looked in some books from the library, but there is no real explanation how to do this. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong words.

  It depends...

  If 'other' applications and data are supposed to be exact copies of the 'master' of all at once, then you might be looking at replication of database.

  If 'other' applications are simply the 'versions' of a 'master' i.e. request with the same treatment base but different data then you look at configuration management and release management.

  I think you are talking about the latter: you have developed an application and installed in different places; you have changed the application (and some data) and now update remote applications to match what you have just developed?

• Can't see the ESSBASE application...

  We are able to see the ESSBASE application in the directory ESSBASE_HOME/app, but the applications are not online and are not visible in the Regional/AAS service console. Is it possible to join the request according to the file system. Given that we do not want ot lose the work of development so far. Also, this server has been restored from tape backup. Please provide your suggestions.

  If it was something that was restored from a backup when you have deleted the original (or restored from another system) application, it's pretty easy to let him appear in ARE. Just a right-click on applications and select Create a new application. Give it the same name and the type of database (ASO or OSB) than the original. When Essbase sees the application directory, it will just add the application security, it will not overwrite what is located in the directory.

  There should not be a problem them running on 64-bit applications are not related to the bottom to run in 32-bit.
  You should check your cache for essbase applications settings, once you migrate, although it's going to cause problems if you do not immediately.

  Have you created your tasks of measurement and Automation Explorer?

  If this is the case, you must export the file of configuration of measurement and Automation Explorer and then import it on the other computer.

  With LabVIEW 2010, you can import a configuration via your Installer file, but I don't know if you can do it with LabVIEW 7.1

  Each application that uses the model page, have the file called pagetemplate - metadata.xml, which is basically a repository of page template.

  When you create a page template, some entries are added to this file automatically for you.

  That's why I said lets you create a new model.

  Well, next to the source code of the template page, if the original model have pageDef, you need this pageDef too, so do the same - create Def page for your new template and just copy - paste the contents of the original.
