Greetings.

Open the 'work', open the directory "Windows".

Open ' Program Files '.

Open 'Internet Explorer '.

Right click on "iexplore.exe".

You can now "Pin to the taskbar" or "Pin to start menu", or create a shortcut on the desktop.

See you soon!

  • Update for Internet explore 8 (KB2183461) does not maintain install.

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop running Vista.  It works great and I keep my anti-malware up-to-date and often the scanner.  However, this month, I noticed the update for Internet Explorer 8 (KB2183461) continues to not install.  Anyone know how to make it fit?

Please answer questions following diagnosis by number in your next reply (no need to quote this post):

    1. what application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

2 a Norton or McAfee application already installed on the computer?

    3. do you have a Norton or McAfee free trial come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

  • My computer will not start, getting warning that the iertutil.dll is missing for Internet Explorer

Anyone know how to fix this problem? I get a warning saying that the iertutil.dll file is missing for internet explore. When I start my computer, all I get is my screensaver with no office. The only way I can continue any part of my computer is to go to alt del to get to the control task manager.

Do you mean you see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

That file should never be missed and it takes an extra effort to remove it on purpose because there are one of 3498 files who cares about Protection of file Windows (WFP).

If explorer.exe is not running, all you will see is your screen background image.

The file is in this folder (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Since you can get into the Task Manager do the following:

Since the Task Manager, click file, new task (run...) and then click Browse and navigate to this folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

If you are unable to find or do not see the dllcache folder, because your system is not configured to display hidden files and folders, simply type the path to the folder name in the "Open:" box

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Make sure the "Files of type" box is set to show all files (or you will not see any), and then click OK to display all files.

Locate copy the iertutil.dll file backup in the folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache, made a right click and copy and go back up a folder c:\windows\system32, right-click in an empty area and paste the file there.  Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

If you can't find the file in the dllcache folder (should be), depending on your installation, there may be a copy of the file on your system in this folder:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

If you find there, copy the file missing from there and paste it where it belongs

It is possible that some malicious software or your antivirus/antimalware indeterminate quarantined (actually deleted) the right file and the backup copy of which must be in the dllcache folder.

In this case, you can download a copy of my SkyDrive and use networks disks (on foot) to bring it to the system afflicted on a USB key or a floppy disk.

You may be able to 'Run' iexplore.exe in the Task Manager to get on the Internet and just download it.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (for example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called rundll32 when the name of the file should really be called rundll32.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

Since it is all very suspicious to meI would follow with this:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.

  • MS11-057: a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB2559049) + software updates fails SCCM

    Morning Microsoft,.

I am facing a problem in my office environment (Windows XP SP3, Internet Explorer 7, software Trusteer report is NOT installed). We are trying to deploy a package to update all the post-SP3 XP critical and security patches and have problems with the update above.

We use the SCCM synchronized with our server WSUS software update to deploy updates and it works very well in most parts.

However this particular update appears to install (that is listed in Add/Remove Programs) However whenever the client checks for updates Windows he sees this as available, download, try to install it and indicates that a reboot is required... After a reboot, he's stuck in this cycle, each time that the client checks a Scan software deployment.

It was on our test PC at the moment we have so removed from our upcoming updates and aboard. Everyone knows this and they can advise?

I had problems too with IE9 and it's updates... as you say all the other updates work I don't think that the Windows Update the question... is IE itself... IMHO...

For days, I was getting the BSOD and it became progressively worse as the days passed... Now, I have all stable and works very well yet.

If my suggestion for you is what I did... sort the problem at the source the progam in other - IE there is a form of corruption imho.

First download and save IE9 to your download folder make sure you have the correct version, for example English Vista 64-bit

Uninstall the current version... you may have to restart... I suggest you only do it anyway... It is cleaner that way. Then reinstall IE. I suggest that you set up with as few add on the as possible and add them at a later date, as and when you need it, preferably one at a time.

Once you have reinstalled IE and restarted the kickoff of Windows Update If you have not automatically set to run... and I think that it will update the update of security OK.

Good luck - let me know

Removed to Malwarebytes scan, but I did a check of my hard disk without error.

So why do you want to reinstall Windows?

Yes, I have the hidden partition on my laptop, it is a mark of Acer.

    He will restore my registration?

When you perform a clean reinstall, it allows to rebuild the registry of
zero. But it is not delivered what was there.

If I do not bother I always new updates of security,

    Sure.

It's for Internet explorer 8 and I prefer this browser to others.

    Ok.

And I will have to install all the updates again if I reinstall the system.

Yes. You need to reinstall everything- all the updates, all the
programs installed, all your data files (that you must first
back up and save on an external support).

Reinstalling Windows is a lot of work, as I said before and in my
view should never be done except when absolutely necessary.

Here's an excerpt from my standard post on this topic:
You must restore all backups of your data, you must reinstall all
your programs, you must reinstall all Windows and application
updates, you must locate and install all the drivers needed to
your system, you must recustomize Windows and all your applications to work
the way you are comfortable with.

In addition to all these things being long and painful, you can
have trouble with some of them: you will find all your CDs application?
You will find all the necessary installation codes? Do you have any data
backups to restore? Do you remember yet all customizations and
tweaks can be installed to make everything work the way that you
    as?

So, again, sometimes must do. But if you do not have
    to
, I highly recommend that you do not have.

  • Help: Program changed by default for Internet Explorer, the .lnk files.

So yesterday, I did something stupid. I managed to change the default program for all my .lnk for Internet Explorer files. I am running Win 7 (64).

When I double-click on any file on my desktop, it tries to open the file with Internet Explorer. It is the same for most of the program files in my Start menu. I met some difficulties for this problem, but all were for the latest operating systems such as Vista and XP so I didn't run the risk of ruining my registry even more by running an obsolete program. If more information is needed just ask.

  • Acrobat PDF reader for Internet Explorer may be unloading/neoconservative custom plugin

    Hello

My question is basically to understand what is happening in this situation, so that I can find out where is the problem and how to solve it.

We used Acrobat 6.0 SDK to develop our custom plugin. This plugin is basically a wrapper for a few basic tools (note, stamp, text) etc... provided by Acrobat 6.0 SDK. We have also developed a PDFViewer.dll to display the PDF document in Internet Explorer. So when the user load the document on our Web site this PDFViewer loaded with custom plugin and allows the user to these tools.

    We install this plugin under < Acrobat X > /Plug_ins/ < company name > / MyPlugin.API.

In our website, we give the list of the documents and when the user clicks on a document, it will load the PDFViewer and custom plugin. We are loading Acrobat.exe in advance so that we can load quickly.  Now, the problem occurs when the user open any other PDF in different tab or an instance of Internet explorer. ? How?

Account for a user of internet Explorer connected to our web site, and then they can see we're going to say 10 documents. 1.PDF, 2.pdf, 3.pdf, etc...

Now when the user select document 1.pdf we are loading that PDF in IE within our PDFViewer plugin with custom. (Here I saw that behind the scene Acrobat.exe is responsible in the transformed by using the Task Manager) / if right now if the user opens another instance of Internet Explore or another tab and open a PDF document, it opens PDF in the standard Adobe Reader PDF Viewer for Internet Explorer resides in (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX).

If at this moment, the user goes back to our site and tried to work on 1.pdf our custom plugin works fine, BUT if the user opens another document (say 2.pdf) the card no longer works basically looks like it is not loaded.

This issue only happens if the user opens a document in another instance tab or internet Explorer and opens PDF which led to open Acrobat Activex for internet explore. If the user opens a PDF document alongside Internet explore it does not create any problem because at that time that ActiveX is not loaded.

So my guess is that something happens when the ActiveX for PDF is loaded in Internet Explorer.

I want to know more what is happening and why it's happening. Because of this behavior, the users of our web site cannot use any other web site that opens PDF documents because then they disconnect and reconnect our web site.

    Please we need immediate assistance.

I'm open to provide more details with screen capture.

    Thank you

    Twinkle

So you have Acrobat and Reader is installed on the same computer?

What version of Adobe Acrobat is used?  Which version of Adobe Reader is involved?

You don't mention what/how your PDFViewer.dll called Acrobat?  Can you comment more about it?
