  I managed insatalled EBS 11i (VISION) on linux before.
  Then I do an another test installation of linux to a new facility (PROD) EBS 11i as my second installation.
  But I was struck with the RW-50004 error in the middle of the process.

  Do you mean on the same host?

  Why do I get % s_virtual_hostname % to my host?

  Please check the host name in the listener.ora file under $RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME\network\admin\. If it has "s_virtual_hostname", edit the file and replace this article by your host name "accelerator.abc.biz" and click the retry button.

• 11i forms not opening after installation

  I installed oracle 11i applications in windows 2003 R2 32 bit.

  When installing, nothing error came in sine qua non and post steps also.

  
  

  Installation also completed successfully, but cannot open forms, no error display for this problem.

  But at the opening of the forms, always his demand to install jinitiator if its installed also again asked to install jinitiator.

  Please help me solve this problem.

  Thanks for the support.

  The problem has been solved now.

  Solution:

  After installing 11i,

  I installed jinitiator 1.3.1.21.

  And installed Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.20.

  Now open 11i forms.

  Because of browser only we have faced this problem.

  I try to install 11.5.10.2 RHEL 4, 5. I downloaded all the files from the following link.

  The link above has 63 files, which is basically together in two, one for 11.5.10 QU3.0 (B30942 to B30949) and another for 11.5.10 QU2.0 (B30397 to B30408).

  You can run md5sum according to (sums of MD5 checksum for 11i10 Quick Install Media [289821.1 ID]) once you're done check out files to check the integrity of the domain stage directory.

• 11i/R12 connection at the base of the machine during the Installation of VMWare host.

  I installed 11i and R12 on VMWare. My host in Windows XP operating system.
  
  11i details-
  VMWare/Guest OS - Windows XP
  Version - 11.5.10.2
  
  R12 Details-
  VMWare/Guest OS - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
  Version - 12.1.1
  
  Everything works fine on the VMWare OS application and database (sqlplus).
  
  The problem is that I am not able to connect to the data base (11i/R12) from the host machine. I am successfully able to run the application from the host machine after you put the entry in the file "hosts".
  
  To connect to the database, I have installed the Oracle 9i on the host machine client and put the entry in the TNSNAMES file. ORA generated by 11i/R12, but even in doing so I am not able to connect to the database.
  
  Is there a way I can connect to the database (installed on VMWARE) of the HOST Machine.
  
  I've seen a single installation on VMWARE, where we are able to connect to the database from the HOST machine.

  64-bit Linux operating systems are supported on servers of x 86-64 for E-Business Suite 11i base layer only. So, you can't have an installation single node Oracle Applications 11i on OS Linux 64-bit if you install layer only database on this node and install the application on a 32-bit operating system layer.

  You can use the standard type as your current level of cost.
  Then, you can configure a Pending cost as provided for in the budget type.
  I guess at some point, you want to update the current cost with the pending costs.

• Cant Open Oracle Applications 11i forms after the last installation of JRE

  We're currently on Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. I had to install the latest JRE 1.6 Update23 to work on BI Publisher templates and now I can't open all the Oracle e-Business Suite under Forms. It just breaks down-IE, has no message on JInitiator Console either. Same problem with the Mozilla Firefox browser.
  
  FYI... I have a colleague who is able to work on both... BI Publisher model Mgr and Oracle Forms end last installed JRE... So don't think it's a server problem, it's just my client configuration. Any help is appreciated.
