• First generation vs second generation i7 processors?

  Has anyone compared the performance of 2nd generation i7 processors of 1st generation?  Looking at the results PPBM page, I see two generations of i7s in the top of the systems.  The first gen i7s are certainly cheaper than the 2nd gen.  Would I missing out on something by buying a first gen i7 processor?

  What this means is that the flagship of the LGA 1366 i7 990 X performs somewhat faster in CS5.x PR (Premiere Pro) than the LGA 1155 Lighthouse i7 - 2600K - but nowhere nearly three times faster. What is "extreme" on the i7 990 X is the price: it costs more than three times higher than the i7 - 2600K.

  And as I noticed with the highest score quad-core i7 - 9xx systems in the list of PPBM5, they use all of the motherboards expensive, top of the range that has more that offset the cost advantage of the CPU quad-core i7 - 9xx on rival of the i7 - 2600K: the mother LGA 1155 typical in i7 - 2600K score systems cost about $180 to $ 190 while the motherboards in the systems aside higher i7 - 9xx almost always cost more $ $300. None of the low-end LGA 1366 mobos quad-core i7 - 9xx systems (at the price less $ 250 for the motherboard) ahead about 43rd well over 400 systems on the results of PPBM5 list.

• No performance difference using Nvidia GTX 1070 against 970 GTX?

  I've been running a Nvidia GTX 970 on a machine Windows 10 with Skylake 4.0 GHz 64 GB ram and Lightroom/Photoshop CC. I recently acquired a GTX 1070. Does anyone know if using the 1070 GTX would make any increase in performance over using the GTX 970 in Lightrooom or Photoshop CC? Also the faster architecture for a 1070, 8 GB of DDR5 ram memory and a 970, 3.5 GB DDR4 games. Don't know if this makes a difference in CC as Adobe is not write code to take FULL advantage of the GPU. This is probably a question for engineers from Nvidia, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

  Adobe has really bad support GPU.

  I've spent a GTX 970 to a GTX 1080 and I don't see any improvement in speed at all in lightroom.

  for photoshop im not sure at 100%. I Don t use 3D in photoshop.

  with my daily work (edition 24-50MP images and panoramas more) I Don t notice a difference either.

  Maybe there are a few features that operate more quickly when compare you to them.

My current version of BIOS [according to Windows system] is American Megatrends Inc. 6.07 date 19/05/2010. Please help me find where I can get an update of the bios for my motherboard.

  Right now I'm really confused!

  After reading the return of Best Buy Canada policy [which gives me 14 days to return my purchased GPU]. I decided to go against the advice I got from this thread and another HP forum.

  I bought the Zotac GTX 970 at Best Buy, thinking it could be a very small chance that it will work, and if it does not work I have he's coming back!

  To my surprise after installing it, it started no problem! I installed the latest drivers from the website of Zotac and then rebooted the system, but still no problems!

  I ran all the points of reference 3-DMark, more than twice with no problems! [which is about 7 times faster than my ATI hd5770]

  I played a few minutes with the deity: sin of origin with ultra graphics to 80 FPS and still no problem!

  I also played a few minutes with supreme commander2 [game 2010 year] at 60 FPS and still no problem!

  I close on my computer about ten times, just to make sure that the system is stable and still no problems!

  I only used it for two days and I hope I won't run into problems in the future!

  So my advice is to check your store for their return policy and try again the GTX 970 yourself! Don't let not the other experiences of volunteers/users HP form this discourage you from trying it!

  PS Don't forget to upgrade your block of POWER 500 W. [I mine improved 460-w 600 W Corsair]

  I currently plan on upgrading my GPU of my x 51 r2 to a 970 gtx. Problem, is that it is quite difficult to find a fan like the evga type. So now, I'm thinking the new gtx 970 hybrid. This would be inside the x 51 r2? And the 51 x can handle with 330W power supply?

  you have to look to the top of the plug the map that will tell you the requirement of watt of the card and the size.

  You can use any fan of cards of type... but you do have to give up the case to avoid overheating.

  You may need to change the case to fit some video cards. (do with check exactly what you need to do first)  YouTube has many videos that will show you what you're against, to upgrades of X 51.

  If you do not see 'Tools', then you do not have your active 'Menu Bar'.

  Guaps, really should not be a problem as 16.0.2 is just an update to security chemspil as always is 16.0 well enough.

  Zubair was happening back saying it is Firefox 16.0.2 which is not compatible and Norton which is not yet updated to be compatible with the 16.0.2.

  Mozilla has nothing to update with Firefox 16.0 unless there was some tiny chance of a regression with 16.0.2 (which would be a first) causing problems. It's Norton who must be compatible, if that is the problem and to me if it is compatible with 16.0 so it should be compatible with the 16.0.2 as why they make too demanding things if that's what they do.
