1400 series 802. 11 a bridge with Catalyst 3524 switch?

According to the documentation below, "you cannot provide redundant power to 1100 and 1200 access points with the two power DC to its port and inline power from a patch panel or powered switch to the access point Ethernet port'. How about the 1400 series bridges? You can use a power injector to power and also connect it to a catalyst 3524 switch (WS-C3524-PWR-XL-EN)? He will know not to draw power from the switch? Or should it be plugged into a hub, and the hub plugged into the switch? Or what would be the recommended configuration? 3524 switch already has 350 access points and a trendy 350 bridge. What would be the risks, if any, plug the bridge 1400 series also in the switch so that it is also a power injector-shoot?

Thanks for the tips!

Use the power only one Option

"You cannot provide redundant power to 1100 and 1200 access points with the two power DC to its port and inline power from a patch panel or powered switch to the Ethernet port on the access point. If you are using power to the access point from the two sources, the switch connection control panel or power could close the port to which the access point is connected. Figure 1 illustrates the configuration of power, which can stop the port on the Panel of brewing or powered switch.

"Figure 1 bad power Configuration with the help of two Power Sources

"Operating Radio 5 GHz requires power injector, power Module or Catalyst 3550-24 PWR Switch

"The series 1200 power injector and power module support operation 1200 series of the 5 GHz in the access point radio." Currently, the Catalyst 3550-24 PWR switch supports power for radio 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio. other switches and power patch panels could provide not enough power for the 5 GHz radio.

"Access point requires 1200 Series universal power supply and power injector.

"The 350 series universal power supply and power injector are not compatible with the 1200 Series access point. If you use a power injector or a power module to power a series 1200 access point, you must use a universal power supply series 1200. If you need to use an injector to power to inject into the access point Ethernet port, you must use a power injector 1200 series. »

The power injector is between the switch and access point online. If your power injector fails, you have lost connectivity to the switch anyway. And to power from a device to a switchport works only if they are directly linked together; You can't have any other intermediate devices in the path.

In short: No. is not a matter of being a bad idea, it is not be possible to try again.

I have a Cisco ACS 4.2 on Windows 2003. Authentication works very well for various cisco as the routers, VPN etc Hub devices

Today, I added a 48-Port L2 switch as a client of the AAA authentication works well. However, I see several connection attempts that have failed this L2 switch with the user 'C '.

    Message Type: Authentic failed

    Caller ID: async

Authentic-failure-Code: external DB invalid or wrong password user

    NAS-Port: tty0

What is causing this connection failed?

If the port console switch generating errors of parasitic connection is connected to a device offering remote access to the console port, then it is likely that an output of this unit is causing the false connection attempt.

If this device is an IOS router with a bunch of asynchronous ports add "no exec" to the line connected to the switch console port.

  • HP PSC 1400: the printer does not print with new ink supply

recently bought a mac book pro with OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Attached is my old HP PSC 1400 for my print/scanning works. System is automatically downloaded and installed the driver. The scan function works well, but I was unable to make an impression. Printer looks and sounds working with half ink cartridges but paper comes out clean, tried re install the printer several times but used to resolve printing problems yet. Can someone help me find a solution? Will be well appreciated. Thank you very much.

    Skypointer

    Hi @skypointer,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see that you can not print printer HP PSC 1400 series, you have recently upgraded to El Capitan 10.11 Mac OS X, and you are able to scan. Your ink cartridges are half full.

I see the printer must be installed using updates Apple, as there are no full software features and drivers available for the older model of printer, see here: install a printer Mac driver by using Apple Software Update

Once you have installed completely, I wish you continue troubleshooting here: Missing, Faded or dull colors, when you print a test page the fact also come out blank?

Once you complete the print quality paper you are now able to print? If you are unable to print, you may need to change the ink cartridges. Let me know the results, I'll watch for your reply.

  • How to activate 802. 1 x with ' Wake on LAN ' EMS 2010 cisco?

    Hello

We have acquired an EMS cisco 2010 to replace our distribution switch. I've implemented the 802.1 X network. Everything works great except that I can't find how to activate 802. 1 x with "Wake on LAN" on this kind of switch. You have an idea?

The catalyst, I saw that it was sufficient to activate this control "control-direction authentication {times |}". in}.

Except that it seems not to exist on this switch. Is there another way to activate 802. 1 x WoL without the help of this command?

Or how to allow the magic packet (WoL) on a port marked by unauthorized 802.1 x?

    Thanks in advance

    Hervé

Hi John, it is not supported.

  • Authentication of 802. 1 X with the assignment problem VLAN.

    Hello

I intend to implement the authentication of 802. 1 X with assignment of VLANS on our network and assign different VLAN on the switch (Cat2960) of access according to the terminals (for example, VLAN10 for VLAN40 for PC, VLA30 for STB IPTV, VLAN20 for voice, WLAN) after a successful authentication.

Is the topology of the network (backbone L3 Switch: Cat6K) <----->(L2 access switch: Cat2960) <-------->(L2 access switch: Cat2960) <-->WLAN, voice, IPTV, PC. (Please refer to the file for the detailed topology rasthaus)

I have to respect (switch L2) <-->(switch L2) topology due to wiring problem.

    My question is below.

    1. to take account of different VLAN of terminals, the only way is in trunk on both L2 switches port. is this possible?

As far as I know, cannot enable 802. 1 X on a trunk port. is it good?

    2. If this is true, is there a solution?

Thank you for your help. :-)

You will not run 802. 1 x on the junction between switch ports, but rather on the ports that connect devices to end-users.

  • 802. 1 x with the ACS and Windows AD

    Hello

Im trying to configure 802. 1 x with ACS 5.2 but I am wrong as his very differnet ACS 4.2.

I installed the ACS for the field and think that I installed the external Idnetity store, however when I try to authenticate a pc using probable authentication "PEAP (EAP-MSCHAPv2), I get a reason for failure 22056 object was not found in the store there is identity.

    Marco

    Hi Marco,.

I guess you missed a mapping configuration in the Section of access policy.

Create an Access Service name AS-802. 1 x select user select the Service Type, and select network access. Select the identity of political Structure and authorization. Select PEAP as the authorized Protocol. Click on finish

You will see the new service click on identity.

Select the source of the identity you have created, then save.

    Click permission

Select an access permission by default authorization rule and save.

    Create a Service access rule name 802. 1 x

Select the Protocol Radius as a Condition and as a compound Condition select RADIUS - IETF:Service - Type match box, then select the service that you created before.

    then you can try again.

  • 802 1 q tagging with PIX 6.3 (1)

Someone uses VLAN tagging with PIX 6.3 (1)? I could make an ethernet (eth0, for example) as port trunking to carry vlan2, vlan3/vlan4. But the PIX does not define ethernet as an access port 1 belongs to the vlan 2. Or if I try to assign ethernet3 belongs to vlan3, it would be rejected by the PIX also.

I thought that the concept of PIX to award port trunking and a VLAN access port must be the same happening with catalyst, but it looks like I'm wrong. Anyone can point the right direction?

    Best regards

    Engel

Engel: Configure the VLAN on the PIX is not the same what to do on the switch. The PIX interfaces are not configured as 'trunk' or 'access' ports ports. With the PIX, you can assign a vlan is a physical interface - or assign a vlan as a logical on a physical interface interface. And vlan is limited to a single PIX - physical or logical interface, here's an example configuration:

    interface ethernet1 100full

    physical interface ethernet1 vlan50

    logical interface ethernet1 vlan60

    logical interface ethernet1 vlan70

    logical interface ethernet1 vlan90

    interface ethernet2 100full

    physical interface ethernet2 vlan20

    interface vlan1 ethernet2 logical

    logical ethernet2 vlan30 interface

    logical interface ethernet2 vlan40

I had a similar problem the workstations where the value "of the computer or user authentication" in the PEAP protocol settings. What is happening is that list DACL that served as of when the computer account has been authenticated restricted just DCs etc, but don't understand the locations required for the login script. It seems that Windows 7 user logon script runs before the dot1x presents the user credentials to the switch.

Thus, in our case, we have modified the DACL is in place for the computer account to allow access to the locations required for the login script (i.e. the network sharing servers), and everything works.

Do you have what version installed? You have imported your raw files from the camera directly on computer or did you use Nikon Transfer to do?

I have Photoshop CS5.  I tried the plug on the site, no luck.

Please confirm the version of Photoshop in use.

    • The Nikon D750 requires that Camera raw version 8.7(at-least). CS5 is not compatible with this Plugin
    • Please use the free DNG Converter to convert your D750 raw files to DNG format, then you can open them in Ps CS5. (it can support up to version 6.7)

If so, uncheck one apply and check and apply the settings again for "GOOSE". It works for me the rare opportunity that the automatic configuration fails to pull an IP address from my router (WiFi and cable). I turn off Bluetooth and VirtualBox adapters in the automatic settings.

I run both wireless and cable into a laptop with XP and Server invited.

  • Implementing 802. 1 x in a by-switch-VLAN topology

We have several switches 6509E access that currently have a single user VLANS by switch (for example access-switch1 users are to vlan 101, access-switch2 users on vlan 102 etc.).

We want to implement 802. 1 x, so that users find themselves either on one vlan allowed or a vlan comments based on a successful authentication. However, we would like to keep the VLAN by switch topology so that users on switch1 go on vlan if authenticated 101 or comments vlan 201 If untrusted users on switch 2 would go on vlan 102 if authenticated or 202 if not authenticated etc..

We are able to get this to work with a single vlan trust and only comments vlan, but they will have to extend over the entire network. Any body know if it is possible to allocate VLAN in 802. 1 x, according to what switch they authenticate to so that they are placed in the vlan OK for the switch?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul,.

Dot1x RFC 3580 specifies that the tunnel Tunnel-private-Group-ID attribute is a string and is not specifically a number so that the solution to your problem can be done by entering the name of VLAN in the RADIUS server and configuring your access switches with the VLAN individual that you want to use on each VLAN one, but those who have the same function in all switches must have the same name that you entered in the server RADIUS exactly for example

    Switch1 - TECH 100 of VLAN, VLAN 150 COMMENTS

    SWITCH2 - VLAN 200 TECH, VLAN 250 COMMENTS

    Entries of RADIUS

    TECH

    COMMENTS

So if a user with mac1 connects to switch1 or switch2 and is authenticated successfully the RADIUS server responds with the Tunnel-private-Group-ID = TECH instead of 100 or 200, regardless of the local number of VLAN on the switch if name is the name of the configuration of the switch, the switch will place it in the numbered right VLAN based on the name , hopefully eliminating the confusion of having to figure out how to the same user in a VLAN different numbered based on the access switch they connect at the time.

    Hope this helps

Using Windows XP with an access switched. How can I prevent the network Dialer to invite the user connect even if I checked: never establish a connection to the Control Panel, then apply, then OK? She comes right back in a few minutes for: always connect by default. Help! Control panel Connections tab doesn't really seem to apply my change to never establish a connection right back to always make the default connection. What else is there to do?

    Hi Richard,

You did it all change hardware or software on your computer before this problem?

  • Implement MLAG with a single switch running

    Hello

IM MLAG with two N4032F to a server and failover and balancing of load testing work. A problem I encounter is that the MLAG interface is wrong until the two switches are running. Can I somehow force the MLAG interface then go to the top with a single switch running? Let's say after power failure, where only the switch starts.

    CEST

Running closed and no stop on the channel of port to the server displays the interface with a single switch running.
