15-ba015n Pavilion: Pavilion 15-ba015na: battery: remove it or not?

Hello

My original question was: should I remove the battery when the work I on AC in order to save the battery?

Navigating on this forum I saw a recent answer to a similar question. The question was: is - this safe to remove battery when using AC - and the answer was Yes, however, repeated removal and rehabilitation can reduce the battery life.

I am at a loss. I thought the whole point of the battery when working on AC WAS to save the battery. It is important for me because I need my long battery life for extended stay. My old laptop goes back to the time before long battery life, it never lasted more than about 30-35 minutes and with age (about 10 years) it's practically a couple of minutes. Mind you, I have enver v bother to take out the battery when the AC.

So, what do you think? Delete or not?

A corollary issue: through the settings I found somewhere that it is possible to extend the battery life if I change the setting. It would result in an operation a bit slow but more long-lasting.

No idea how much slower and hoe much longer?

(Remember, I'm nort I'll never find where I could reset this function...)

TIA as always.

I don't know what type of battery is in your old laptop but still portable 10 years ago were using lithium-ion batteries, and they have not really improved that much. What has happened is that engineers have found ways for laptops to use less energy. 10 years ago, that we had no processor low voltage and memory, etc.

If the laptop must be completely motionless and used as a desktop, there is a small amount of sense to remove and store the battery. Run up to 60% it and store it somewhere cool and dry. It is however much effort which probably will not extend the life of the battery by very much. The battery has a smart chip on the inside and the laptop power management prevents charge/recharge cycles until the battery is less than 95% usually.

HP has this useful tutorial on the battery life.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01297640

Yes, you can change the settings power, but at the end of the day if you want to extend the duration (how long it works on a charge instead of 'autonomy', which is the number of months / years, the battery lasts) the most important thing is to turn down the brightness of the screen.

People much resist computer just let the system handle. Do not run the battery below 15-20% of power before recharging. That's the only rule. Good luck.

The laptop is 30 months old. Can someone tell me if there is something to try before I go buy a new battery?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

No. 30 months is worth about 65 battery years... not really old, but in the end of the life sector.  You could enter the program Support Center and look for advanced battery information and look to see how many cycles there. More than 350 is a good life. Weird, but it's time to get a new battery just.

  • Pavilion 15-P001TX: battery will not charge!

    Hello
I bought my HP Pavilion 15-p001tx of the Amazon at the beginning of the month. It was a good deal and I had fun playing Call of duty black ops. Then a notification came to show that I should plug the charger. But when I plugged in the charger, another notification came telling me to plug a smart adapter for best perfomance. Now, the system tray showed me that the laptop is plugged in but not charging!
What the hell! I looked for answers and someone suggested to uninstall power microsoft acpi compliant control and restart the laptop. I did as I said, but with no use! Now, when I plug the laptop (it does) a small orange LED lights up but when I turn on my laptop, it suddenly turns off suddenly.

    Hello

Since yesterday my PC, a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-555sc desktop computer, does not start. It freezes at the start screen "HP".

It only allows me to enter the BIOS and it meets no other entry.

I thought it might be the motherboard.

    It comes to my PC

My PC was already supposed to be an upgrade, but I would like to know if this can be corrected before I create a new.

I knew no more probably is not on warranty.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Which is usually caused by a corrupt BIOS. You can clear the CMOS. Sometimes, but not always, which solves the problem.

It is of the card mother reference web page.

Look for the clear instructions of the CMOS. The instructions do not specify this, but it is best to remove the RTC battery before performing the clear procedure of CMOS.

While the RTC battery is out and the PC unplugged, press and hold the power switch of the PC for about 15 seconds. When you replace the RTC dough the + must be facing upwards.

    Best regards

I run windows xp on HP Pavilion 750, in the past, I have not had a problem writing to the photos from my computer on disc.

It now written up so I get a message cannot keep any body can help please.

    original title: problem writing Photos...

I'm sorry, but I don't have a solution for you.  You can check the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) to see if there are warnings next to your CD burner.  If there is a caution icon, double-click the entry and see what it says under "device status".

I don't know how you use picture & Fax Viewer to burn a CD.  The usual method, except if you have 3rd party CD burning software, is to use Windows Explorer.  This is what Windows XP Help & Support has to say on this topic:

To copy files and folders to a CD

    1. Insert a blank, writable CD into the CD burner.
    2. Open my computer.
    3. Click the files or folders to copy to the CD. To select multiple files, hold down the CTRL key while you click the files you want. Then, under file and folder tasks, click copy this file, copy this folder, or copy the selected items.

If the files are located in my pictures, under management of images, click copy to CD or copy all items to a CDand go to step 5.

    4. In the dialog box copy items , click the CD player record, and then click copy.
    5. In my computer, double-click the CD burner. Windows displays a temporary area where the files are held before they are copied to the CD. Verify that the files and folders you want to copy to the CD appear under files ready to be written on the CD.
    6. Under CD writing tasks, click write these files to CD. Windows displays the Assistant burn a CD. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

    Notes

    • To open my computer, click Startand then click my computer.
    • Do not copy more files to the CD that it will hold. Standard CD hold up to 650 megabytes (MB). Large capacity CD contain up to 850 MB.
    • Don't forget that you have enough disk space on your hard disk to store the temporary files that are created during the CD writing process. For a standard CD, Windows reserves up to 700 MB of available disk space. For a high-capacity CD, Windows reserves up to 1 gigabyte (GB) of the available free space.
    • After you copy files or folders to the CD, it is useful to view the CD to verify that the files are copied.

  • Why the CPU frequency will be just said to 1189 MHz when the X 230 had AC power ONLY (battery removed)?

    Dear all,

I bought a X 230 (i7) laptop.  I found that has removed the battery from the laptop and use only the power supply with the X 230 Notenook.  The CPU frequency will said to 1189 MHz.  It will not change no matter how the laptop program is running.  The CPU frequency will increase to 2.9 GHz or up to Turbo when the laptop with battery or battery and AC power.  Why the CPU frequency will be just said to 1189 MHz when the X 230 had AC power ONLY (battery removed)?  This is not good.  No matter which setting in X 230 Notebook need to change?  Help, please.

    Welcome to the forum!

What you feel is the factory default setting. You may or may not be able to get around using an adapter 90 w instead of a 65W one, but I've generally not recommended to use the ThinkPads without a pile of work.

  • X 230 oly 1.2 GHZ when battery removed

    Hello

I own a Lenovo X 230 with an I5 3320. I noticed that the CPU remains at 1.2 ghz when I remove the battery and the charger (default 65 Watt) is connected. This I have a kind of boring because I normally remove the battery my I use a laptop in my home.

But with only 1.2 ghz, the laptop is a bit slow so the battery must remain in the laptop.

I put all energy options for maximum performance, but the CPU uses only a 12 multiplikator.

I also took a picture of the problem:

It is normal for a ThinkPad. You can try a 90W AC adapter. See this thread:
