  • Dell XPS Ultrabook 12 has network using WIFI connection problem after upgrade to Windows 10

I have a Dell laptop XPS Ultrabook 12 that worked fine on Windows 8.1. When Microsoft prompted me to sign up for upgrade to Windows 10, I hesitated, but finally, I signed up for it. In recent months, I have been asked several times upgraded to Windows 10 but I just ignored and delay the update as much as possible, because I need to work with the laptop and I can't afford to have problems after the upgrade.  To my horror, Microsoft forced an install of Windows 10 this morning without allowing me to delay and just after the upgrade, I can't connect to my existing network. I have therefore no access to the internet and I am currently typing this complaint using another PC. I noticed that the laptop can connect to the network automatically when I walk my router but the connection will last only a few minutes, and then he'd cut off. I tried to connect and the message I get is "unable to connect to this network. I checked with "ipconfig/all", wifi said media disconnected. I checked with the Dell support website and downloaded and installed a newer driver, but the problem persisted. Apparently the surf on the internet, this problem is faced with a number and any suggestions to fix do not work (after that I tried).

    Help, please.

You should be able to go back to 8.1 for Windows by following the instructions here:

  • AVG Internet Security and AVG PC Tuneup will cause problems after upgarding to Windows 10?

Original title: AVG vs 10 widows

I used AVG Internet Security 2015 and AVG PC Tuneup 2015.  They will create no problem if I install Windows 10 as a replacement for Windows 7 Home Edition? wouldn't be better to remove them?

If you look at the AVG support community there is not a lot of issues with AVG and Windows 10 products and the few that you can read on are resolved quickly - usually with an AVG uninstall and reinstall (especially after the migration of the BONE).

If you are migrating your Windows 7 to Windows 10 I think I would uninstall all AVG products if they don't get in the way, completed the transition from OS and then reinstall AVG products from scratch on Windows 10.  Some problems of AVG support are usually solved with uninstall/reinstall anyway.

From the looks of the circulation in this Windows 7 community, you're more likely to have questions Windows 7 migration to Windows 10 (or try to go back) with AVG.

  • Problem after installation of window upates

Original title: windows 7 problems because microsoft updates this week

    Hello

Since the latest windows updates this week, MS computer windows 7 my husband does not work correctly.

Most of the time there was no internet connection, although my laptop in the same room connects.

Worse, it's his slider has the circle of rotation that continues for hours.

I did F8, then: Startup Repair. memory diagnostic; System Restore (pre update); last good configuration...

I'm not grumpy, so don't want something complex to do.

    Without a doubt-related updates.

His computer crashed the first time they went, in automatically.

When I finally received it goes and makes system restore, then downloaded the updates one by one with reboot between each of them and create a system restore point before each new updated the laptop seems to work again.

Stop us it, but the major problem started once it was lit again in the afternoon. Really frustrating and such a waste of time.

    Any suggestions?

Do not clean the computer and reinstall, so please do not suggest that.

    My deep gratitude.

    Hello Craig,.

I understand the inconvenience you encountered.

According to the description, I understand her you are facing problem after installing windows updates.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

    1. Did you do any change important before this problem?

    2. What is the brand and model of your system?

    3. Are you an error message\ error code on your system?

To resolve this issue, you need to determine the cause of the Windows Explorer to stop functioning, try the troubleshooting steps below to help decide the issue.

    Method 1.

Step 1. Try to go into safe mode with network and check.

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists. Safe mode is a diagnostic mode in which you are connected with only the minimal necessary services and active pilots. Check if the number is reproduced.

To switch to safe mode see the link given below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

If the problem does not exist in safe mode, try to perform a clean boot and check.

Step 2: Perform the clean boot.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. Check this question in the clean boot state.

  • Problems after updating to Windows 8

I had some problems with my new laptop so I decided to try the «Refresh your PC» function Doing so brought on a slew of new problems which I had no chance to solve on my own. I hope someone knows what to do with this mess.

After "refreshing" to my PC, my laptop wouldn't let me:
Install anything (downloads are OK, though)
Programs open (with the exception of Internet Explorer)
    Applications open
    Open C: /.
    Open the laptop settings
Solve problems ("an error has occurred during troubleshooting.")

It became obvious to me that the majority of these problems were because the updating of Windows me rid of my administrative privileges.

I tried to solve this problem with every idea that I had and every suggestion I could find online. The problem is that my phone won't allow me to do anything to capture administrative privileges.

Here are the solutions I tried:
'Change the Type of account' in the user accounts: parameters show that I am already administrator.  The 'Standard' option is greyed out. Nothing to do here.

Using a command prompt: everything I try, I get the "Network Error" result... "Windows cannot access to ' if I get" net user administrator / Active: Yes "I received the reply"the system 5 error has occurred. Access is denied. "I can only assume this error occurs because I'm not an administrator. If I try to do "sfc/scannow" it says "You must be an administrator." However it won't let me run cmd as administrator.

Exchange User Account Control: the bar is set on "notify me only when...". ». I can drag down to "Never notify", but when I try to click on 'OK' will not just pass by. I could click OK all day and nothing will happen. No error message.
Create a new user: hit this button head to PC settings, which does not, as previously stated.
Clean boot: Msconfig will not open, I get the error message "network error". Windows cannot access.
Switch to the Microsoft account: 'Users' directs 'PC settings", which is an application that does not open.
CHKDSK: whatever it is, I have no idea, but it does not open.

If I try to "Run as Administrator" on any program, it simply doesn't. No error message.

I reached the end of my rope after trying several solutions more that hasn't worked and tried to do a system restore. System Restore does not open. I get the error message "System Restore could not start." I would try to solve the problems, but as I said troubleshooting will not, work almost everything also, runs to the PC settings application, which does not open.

None of these problems existed before I did the update of Windows, so I can only assume what caused their - which is a little disconcerting.

Any ideas on what to do?

I had this problem after that refreshing of my pc, if yours is the same (if it could even be your best solution) you will need to make a new account

    Windows + x

    go to "Control Panel".

go to "user accounts and family safety."

    Press 'user account '.

    Press 'manage other accounts '.

In light blue shades near the bottom, it says "add a new user".

Follow all instructions after that to make your new account

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. If all else fails, it's the only way I know how to deal with it

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

REP 1) If you didn't have a problem with Windows 7 but only with Windows 10, probably the problems resolve and will not happen on Win 7. I can't guarantee 100% but it seems normal.

REP 2) Yes, if you go back to your previous operating system (aka Win 7), you will be able to try to Win 10 later if you wish.

    A few tips:

  • WiFi problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings!

I read a few posts on WiFi problems after the (improper) upgrade of Windows 10. I have a ThnkPad T530 which I've upgraded to Windows 10 Windows 7 in September (too late to roll back). Here's my question:

I have three computers on my desk. This standard T530 running Windows 10, a ThnkPad E555 running Windows 7 and a Dell running Windows 8. I used all three last Friday. I installed Norton on all three Friday and everything went without a hitch. When I first started their return to the top of this morning, the two others came online as usual. The ThinkPad T530 connected by a router in the company, but has no access to the internet. I can connect to the hotspot on my phone and it connects fine. I tried to turn the WiFi connection and then turn it on again, restart, by killing and restarting the business connection, etc. Nothing changes.

    Help, please

    Ben

    Try the following:

    Open administrator command prompt:

    Hello!

2 years ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop and it came pre-loaded with Windows Vista Home Basic Edition and all of the disks that came from contained drivers that are compatible only with Vista and earlier versions of Windows, and I heard that when I replaced Windows Vista with Windows 7, when my system started to show the errors of compatibility and instability. I even tried Windows Update, but he could not solve my problem. So, I had to go back to Vista...
