16 GB memory in a 15 "laptop Macbookpro 2010

OS X Yosemite

Version: 10.10.4 (14E46)

MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid 2010)

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330 M 256 MB

I work as a designer and need to maximize the amount of memory as much as I can.

Some sites the State 8 GB is the maximum amount of memory allowed on this unit.

Is this true?

Thank you

Thai

8 GB (4 x 2) is for 15 "2010 mac MacBook Pro. 13 inches can take 16 (2 x 8)

  • I've updated my macbookpro (2010) snow leopard at elcapitan but when I restart it does not complete the installation then is no longer able to use it. Help?

I've updated my macbookpro (2010) snow leopard at elcapitan but when I restart it does not complete the installation then is no longer able to use it.

    I tried the following:

1 start with the R command and using disk utility that did say he had problems but then appear all ok after completing.

2 tried the Verbose mode and did not work

    3. I tried command mode S did not.

    4. tried to zap the pram was not working.

5 a couple other things that I had read, but nothing helped.

It starts up and the line begins to show the computer made his 'thing', but gets stuck about 3/4 quarters of and goes no further. Would appreciate any suggestions.

PS: also tried boot from the original disks as well, but no luck.

You said "PS: also starting from the original disks tried both but no luck."

Exactly what happened when you tried?

Have you tried formatting the HD?

Have you started the installation of SL?

  • Bluetooth and memory card in my laptop HP 240 G3 doesn't work!

Please... this the correct driver file, I need in my notebook for bluetooth and memory card work! I've downloaded several, but continue working... =)

    Hello:

Your model does not include built in bluetooth network.

The Atheros wireless network adapter is only wireless, not an adapter without wireless/bluetooth combination.

You need this driver for the SD card reader...

This package contains the driver that allows the Realtek card reader in laptop models running a supported operating system. The card reader allows users to read or write to removable storage cards supported, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players and cell phones.

  • Want to m6 1310sa: how to change the graphics memory on HP Envy laptops

    Hello

I have a HP Envy 1310sa m6, it has an AMD APU of A10 - 5750M with AMD Radeon 8650 G which is 'supposed' dedicated graphics processor. The reason for the quotes is the lack of this gpu provides game performance. I looked online and a majority of the websites say it is truly integrated.

My question is, if it integrated or dedicated I would like to know if it is possible to increase the memory shared/dedicated.

    Thank you for the support,

    1101001011

    Hi @1101001011,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY Notebook m6-1310sa and questions or concerns, with graphics memory upgrade. Your system is AMD Radeon HD 8650 G / 7670M bi - GPU (2 GB dedicated DDR3 memory) tweaking the system will cause problems and I do not recommend this.

Look into this further I suggest upgrading the memory on the system. You can upgrade to the memory locations 2 16 GB taking the memory card of 8 GB. Here is a link to your service manual page 28.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • HP pavilion g series: upgrade my memory on my pavilion laptop g series 1325sa

    Hi all

Just a question to those in the know.  I need to know how to upgrade the ram in my computer g series hp laptop pavilion.  Cuurently has slightly less than 4 GB, but ideally need at least 8 GB minimum.  I can do and where can I get the chipset (think that's his name) and an idea of the cost, it is also an easy task?

    Thank you very much

    G6-1325sa?

    G6-1325sa sheet

Said maximum 6 GB but users regularly report success with 8 gigs.

    Download your service manual here

See p. 54 for a photo showing how to upgrade the memory. You have the module one 4 concert and an open slot. You can add a 2 gig for sure to make 6 GB and very probably add a 4 GB to 8 gigs.

This is the part number for the 4 GB module:

    621569 001

    4 GB module on amazon.com

    2 gig

  • Installation upgrade memory in the new laptop (E8730w)

I just got my new laptop and was dismayed to see that I obviously have to install the 2 GB memory upgrade that I ordered.  When I'm ready to install it, I will contact HP technical support.  I'm interested in the big picture right now.  The laptop has installed Windows Xp and Vista, stored on the hard drive.  No matter if I use the new laptop for, say, from the user's manual before as I have added additional memory, or is it better not to use the laptop until I have all of the memory (2 GB original and 2 GB upgrade) in place.  I hope that this process will be no more complicated than to install an ethernet card in a years office 5 or 6.  Where can I get good screwdriver to open the module compartment memory?  From my experience, it is easy band, the head of a screw phillips, especially a small head, if there is no appropriate screwdriver.  I'd appreciate any idea on these issues.

I don't think that no matter how long you use it before you install the memory. Regarding the screwdriver, I use a 41678 artisan to work on laptops with screws Phillips. It could cost $ 1.69 at any Sears and any tech tools for perhaps $15 will be a very similar small Phillips. You will know if you are stripping it, so stop everything. Memory installation is much easier than to put a PCI on a desk. Relax its all good.

  • How can I change the video memory on a Fujitsu laptop?

Hello! I am a Fujitsu AH531 laptop user, and I'm trying to change the video memory settings in use. I have access to the BIOS, which is a Phoenix Tiano, and advanced settings to change my memory Intel HD Graphics 3000 64 MB to 128 MB could not be found. Any advice?

Intel HD3000 graphics memory is allocated dynamically. I understand that there is no real dedicated VRAM. The mfg of the portable allocates a base amount of system RAM in common with the graphical part of the processor. In your case it's 64MB, but for some, it's as little as 32 MB and other 128MB, but the end result is much the same as more system RAM is allocated according to the needs.
If there is a way to change the RAM RB you better ask on the forums of Fujitsu.

Apparently, some people use 'batch' files to help with game performance, this is something that you may want to search each game uses a different file.

  • ENVY of HP dv7 - 7398ca PC Notebook: how much memory (NO RAM) my laptop stand (also, slave drive issues)

Is there a limit to the size of a SSD or HARD disk, I put in my laptop?

I currently have a 1 TB SSD, and that's all. He could handle 2 TB? 4 TB? 6 TO?

There is an empty slot internal hard drive and I'm looking to add a slave drive.

Y at - it much, if any, of the difference between using a SSD or HARD drive for the slave drive?

I was under the impression that he was not a limit to the size of a HDD/SSD, you can put in until a year ago, I put a 3 TB HARD drive in a desktop environment and he acknowledged only 2 TB of it.

Finally, off topic, if someone could indicate what anything else that could / should be upgraded on this laptop, I'd appreciate it.

If none of these questions are a little silly, feel free to have a little laugh at em.

    Thank you in advance.

Not stupid at all. Portable hard drives up to 2 TB, not because of any problem with the hardware of the laptop, just hard drive manufacturers do not have more data on a 2.5-inch disk capacity yet. You can install a 2 TB or 2 of them on your laptop. I wouldn't use an SSD as secondary drive 'slave' because you can't start it and the speed is a little lost. Your optimal configuration is the most big budget SSD drive can support in the main Bay, then a mechanical drive of 2 TB in the secondary Bay. You will need a cart and a cable for the secondary Bay and you can buy it here:

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=498

If you look at the bottom of the newmodeus.com page, you will see the installation instructions.

This 2 to/3 TB problem you had on the desktop has been easily solved. The drive must be set up the file system more modern TPG rather than the old system MBR schoool. You will not have this problem with a 2 TB laptop drive, but TPG system is much better than Windows 8 and higher, anyway.

  • A MMC stuck inside the slot of memory card in DV2 laptop

I wanted to put a MMC console in the card slot. Not only it did not work, but he also went inside the slot & more I tried, more it happened.

    What should I do?

BTW in the slot, it is written ' SD.MS/PRO. MMC XD '.

It does not mean that it is compatible with MMC cards?

All except the larger format flash media cards need adapters. Most of the cards, as the ultra II Micro SD cards have included adapters. The following image is of the adapter supplied with an Ultra II Micro SD card I use in my HTC Desire HD.

The micro SD card fits into a slot under the SanDisk Word. This adapter fits into my loan HP dv7-4180ea and 5-in-one media SD in my laptop Toshiba Satellite. Unfortunately, you will need to gently remove the card yourself or have to take it to a store.

    Best regards

  • My XP guest uses a lot more memory on the new laptop

I just got a Dell Studio 15 and moved my Windows XP VM to it, and it uses a lot more memory than on my old system.  I don't know how VMWare allocates memory, but on my old system, I saw almost no additional memory used when you start this virtual machine (with the exception of the cache memory), but on the new, it uses almost as much memory that I have assigned to the virtual machine (1024 MB).  It is also worth noting that I use VMWare 7 on a new and 6.5 on the old host.

Anything I can do to get great efficiency that I was getting on my old system?

really not use 2 virtual processors on a host that has 2 CPUs.

What is an Ubuntu 9.10 system?

    Other than adding

    mainmem.backing = 'name '.

    for the vmx file.

This will slow down the virtual machine, but you wanted to do that ;-)

  • New MacBookPro (2010) - VMware releases GPU dedicated... why?

I use a monitoring tool that indicates if the Intel HD GPU or the dedicated Nvidia GPU 330GT is running at any given time, so I can clearly see that from a virtual computer triggers the GPU dedicated, which means that my MacBook Pro consumes a lot more power.

The virtual machine (Win XP Pro SP 3) is in mode single window with 3D acceleration is disabled.

I can't imagine the advantage of the GPU dedicated on that internal in this scenario. Any thoughts? Any chance to get back on the GPU inner in the interests of greater autonomy?

My understanding is that any time a program uses OpenGL, OS X will switch to the discrete GPU. Fusion uses OpenGL to draw the poster comments (even if you have not enabled 3D acceleration), which means the discrete GPU is still used while the merger is running.
