16 track simultaneous recording

Hello

I use Audition 1.5 for centuries, and after reading these forums, I want to stick with it rather than go to v3

I would like to record 16 microphones simultaneously in multitrack view. My ideal would be to meet the channels A/D pickups and connect them directly to the computer. As simple and easy as possible. Then I would post records to mix down.

I really want to hear the experiences and advice. Is this a realistic proposition in the hearing? If so, what material would be worth?

16-bit 44.1 is good, but it would be good to hear high settings too.

Thanks in advance

What Bob says is all valid and just shows how you can use the same piece of software in a way that best suits you and your situation.

There is no right or wrong - just more choice.

Like Bob, I have a mixer outboard - A & MWZ312M H 16:12, but I use it for mixtures of helmet.  I can configure up to 12 stereo headset mono or 6 blends.  If I want to Mix my helmet off the beaten :-)

So, you will find that there will be others all with different ways of doing more or less the same thing.  Its up to you to find what is best for you.

  • Unable to activate the track for recording?

The other day, I went from a PC to an iMac. When I try to record a voiceover in Premiere Pro, it only allows me to activate my track for recording. In fact, I can't even click the button. I use a Blue Snowball USB microphone. Here are the screenshots of my settings for inputs and outputs. I read so many posts on the forum and articles related to it, have changed a few things, but have had no success. I've never had this problem on my PC, so it's mind-boggling. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm sure that there is something that I completely forget, but I'm stumped. Thank you so much in advance!

    • Output is set to the headphone output port

In Premiere Pro CC Audio hardware preferences:

    • ASIO hardware is set to 'default input/output system'

    • I also tried "C - Media USB Headphone Set but, also, it does not work.

    • With the 'system by default i/o' selected, matching output is set to "Adobe Desktop Audio" (only option) and shows:

    • "C - Media USB Headphone Set: right front.

In order to record the original Version, I first need to "enable track for recording" in the mixer Audio Track. There is no inside or outside points in my calendar and tracks are not locked or solo wouldn't or anything. So why can't just select the audio track I want to use to record the VO? I click on it but there is no answer. I just want to know why this software is not what it was designed to do.

The track you want to record on must be of the same type as your microphone source - a mono microphone needs a mono track, a stereo microphone needs a stereo track. The track will not enable recording if the source is not appropriate.

  • Impossible to activate the track for recording

    Hello world

I am trying to record a simple voice-over in first Pro CS6.0.0, build 319 for Mac. First recognizes my USB headset, but I can not select the "Enable track for recording" button (icon: a modish capital letter R) in the Audio Mixer Panel. It is not disabled/grayed, but when I click it, nothing happens. I tried this with and without the Red "Record" button (bottom of the audio mixer Panel) selected. There is nothing on the track I want to record. I tried with two different microphones.

I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.2, standard (not administrator) account. Everything else works fine. What gives?

    Thank you!

Found a solution! In my case, at least, setting the default entry system to my key USB headset and audio first of System Default Input/Output setting allows me to voice recording.

  • Insertion of 4 audio in different audio tracks simultaneously to Recorder 4 cameras?

    Hi all

quick question, non-critical mission, but I was wondering if there was an 'expert' technique that I'm missing.

I recorded an event several day and 4 audio channels to a ZOOM H6 directly the Council of the mixer. I imported audio files in my project, and they are willing as well:

    Audio

    | - ZOOM0001

    | - ZOOM0001_Tr1.WAV

    | - ZOOM0001_Tr2.WAV

    | - ZOOM0001_Tr3.WAV

    | - ZOOM0001_Tr4.WAV

    | - ZOOM0002

    | - ZOOM0002_Tr1.WAV

    | - ZOOM0002_Tr2.WAV

    | - ZOOM0002_Tr3.WAV

    | - ZOOM0002_Tr4.WAV

    | - ZOOM0003

    | - ZOOM0003_Tr1.WAV

    | - ZOOM0003_Tr2.WAV

    | - ZOOM0003_Tr3.WAV

    | - ZOOM0003_Tr4.WAV

    | - ZOOM0004

    | - ZOOM0004_Tr1.WAV

    | - ZOOM0004_Tr2.WAV

    | - ZOOM0004_Tr3.WAV

    | - ZOOM0004_Tr4.WAV

    |

    | (etc.)

I've been looking for the best way to drag and drop these clips so that they are STACKED in my timeline (Tr1.WAV go to Audio 1, Tr2.WAV to 2 Audio, etc.) rather than sequential (I have dry so he abandoned the file to the timeline, and end all 4 clips on Audio 1)?  I do not want to MANUALLY place each (16 drag and drops, as opposed to 4).

I did manually, so no rush. But for later use (and for anyone else in this position, it can be useful to know? Or perhaps a feature request?

    Thanks in advance.

where they are files separate im not sure of an easy way to place them. the order of sequence camera multiple create may help the audio synchronization and align several clips, but I'm not sure that it will work in this scenario.  If you have a way to zoom h6 to record in a single multichannel file so that its a file instead of 4, you can tell creation to send each channel to a separate track. It is a setting in preferences for audio tracks by default to control how audio files are handled, and you can change all the files in the location of project by right-clicking and choosing Edit > audio channels.

  • Redflagging spots of different time in a double track to record via the hearing

I would really appreciate if you could help me. I have a record to double track. I'd be able to redflag point A in the left channel and point A' in the right channel? Hearing would be able to tell me precisely the difference in time between these two positions? Would I be able to put several redflags in the left channel and the corresponding number of redflags in the right channel? Hearing would be able to tell me each lag in each corresponding pair of redflags? "For example, the difference between A and A', B and B', C and C ' etc. If so, how should I proceed?

I'm trying to use this feature to measure the large ear-voice of simultaneous interpreters. The left channel would contain the original, while the right channel contains the translated version. That's why I need to frequently different redflag in both channels.

Thank you very much for you help anything that might offer.

In the marker list (you can dock a pane next to the main editing window if you want to - which makes it easier to get to), highlight the two references you want to the Group (Ctrl-click selects more than one), and then in tools in the lower left corner, click the one-fifth of the six - this is the tool "merge selected." Timing results will be immediately displayed in the list, with the two markings showing now a unique range benchmark.

For example, if you select 1 and 3 and combined marks, you would still have cue 2 left you could bundle it with 4. That would give you two marker ranges overlapping that, if you marked, you can refer to each side of the audio.

  • MIDI track is recording not read correctly

When I save a midi track and it reproduce he never sounds like he did when I recorded on the keyboard. The joints do not remain. Why is this? I even ran the through bus midi instruments to record audio and the audio kept my joints, but sloppy midi sounds. Can someone please help me find a solution?

    Thank you

My guess is that your with a logic auto quantize your MIDI recordings and you don't work at the tempo that has the logical value... You can disable it in the window Inspector of UNMARKING all REGIONS so that it indicates MIDI THRU the top of the Inspector and by unchecking the checkbox quantize.

  • Simultaneous recording of time and strain

I use LabView 2010, NI USB-9219, NOR cDAQ-9172 and linear strain gauges. I want to be able to save time for each reading of strain and can't seem to find a method that works. I want the result in Excel to time and strain. I know that the value of the strain itself is correct as being verified experimentally, I just need the corresponding to add in the block schema component. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to LabView.

    rumef,

You can add a time column to the file in the configuration of the writing on a file of measures.  Double-click the function to set the parameters.  You can also find addign a useful header.

  • Cannot listen to an audio track of several registered through the recording of the cycle... ?

    I'm a new logic/Mac user, so I think I'm missing something obvious.

I use Logic Pro X I used the cycle recording recording a few songs - but changed the following setting:

-went to folder, duplication of Audio recordings, create titles selected and Mute under record Cycle

-J' recorded audio takes 4-5, which was all placed in the new circuits controlled by a single potentiometer

-When I listen to these songs at the same time, I only heard one of them at a time. If I cut one of the tracks, they all get muted. If I solo, they all get to have.

Why don't I hear a track at a time? I want to double to the top of my voice recording, but seem not to be able to...?

    Please help, thanks!

    -Mike

You know a little more sense, to understand what is happening.

    The "short": answer

    • In logic, a track (the way horizontal track that records your regions) and a channel strip (which is responsible for the delivery of audio) are two separate components.
    • You can create several tracks which are all assigned to the same channel strip.
    • All of these buttons Mute , Solo buttons, sliders to Volume and Pan buttons are technically identical, a representation of the coontrols of this single Channel Strip. So pressing a button Mute or Solo allows all other buttons on the pieces.
    • This is the program installation you created with the recordings option overlapping 'create tracks.
    • You must create new tracks (assigned to their own Channel Strip) or reassign these tracks and copy regions.
    • In your case, select records that overlap "create a folder to" and then choose "unpack new tracks" in the Comp Menu.

You might get the idea that there is some learning/reading to do to be able to use logic, regardless of what you do.

    Hope that helps

    Help!

I'm currently testing a trial version of Adobe first Pro CC.

I am recording a narration track.

I hooked my firewire M Audio and input and output device is considered in view of sound from my computer.

I crossed the audio hardware settings and changed it. But when I select an empty track, there is no option icon record available in the mixer Audio Clip. I don't have that mono, stereo and write keyframes.

  • How to activate a track record in Premiere Pro CS4?

I'm on a macbook. I have a SM57 microphone connected via an XLR to USB cable. I tested this microphone by garage band, and it works and records very well.

In Premiere Pro preferences, I chose C-media USB Audio Device.

In the configuration of Audio MIDI mac, I chose C-media USB Audio Device as the default entry.

In Premiere Pro, I clicked on Audio 1 to point out that is the way I want to record.

Yet when I click the microphone image in the Audio Mixer Panel to activate the track for recording, it does nothing, no drop-down list, there is no indication that I clicked on it (other than himself highlighting in yellow for a brief moment).

Then I click on the record button, it starts flashing, waiting for me to click on play.

Then I click on play and a message appears ' Record you cannont without activating at least a track for recording.

    Where I'm going wrong?

    Any help is very appreciated.

I'm not aware of the first being able to record anything via the USB port.  Only FireWire for video and audio input mic.

  • Can I make a record on the Air of MacMook, etc.. ?

In our master class, we use "Collaborate" for audio visual. Here is a somewhat convoluted series of question for which I couldn't find an answer online.

    1. can I I dictate a recording on MacBook Air? When I try to play the record AND dictate, there is no sound. That is, it seems that I can have one or the other, but not both.

    2. just behind that, can I make a voice memo to my iPhone? I know that it will be on my MacBook but I encounter the same problem. Is there an "end-around" that would allow me to do this?

    3. is there a software that would allow me to do this?

    4. is there a way that I could use a splitter microphone cable that allow me to do that?

    5. Finally, if I have a 3.5 male cable, it would allow me to dictate (or save) from the iPhone directly on the MacBook Air.

Any help on this maze would be a great help. Also, I'm techno-challenged so a process step by step would also be useful.

    Thank you!

I suggest you section in the Apple local store for a discussion with one of the geniuses.

I guess this app is the Blackboard application work?

1: Yes, OS X can record audio.    GarageBand from Apple iLife app is commonly used for this and can be effective to record audio and to overlay additional tracks on audio existing.   Better get a mic if you can manage that, the microphone has a terrible audio quality.   The people of Blue Microphone products with good reputation, as do AudioTechnica and other sellers...

1a: simultaneous record and playback means that you pick up playback during recording if you're not careful.  Which means a helmet or another mechanism to keep the isolated audio tracks or a directional microphone with noise cancellation.  Headphones are probably preferable here, too.   Mikes can and do pick up all kinds of noise, even the most accomplished.

2: Yes, there is an audio recorder app on iOS.

2a: same problem as 1 a - you need to separate the channels to the inputs and outputs.

3: See what GarageBand can do - but it is the registration center and not collaboration - and maybe the products proposed by Rogue Amoeba or Audacity.

4: again, you must separate channels of input and output (and headset), or you get the audio output in return via the input channel.

5: I think technically possible, but you will get the output on the input and sound from the microphone of the iPhone is not very good either.

To save a collaboration and not the typical rather more static recording with GarageBand, the various applications that are people doing podcasting are probably in the arena just for your needs here, especially if they can - as different packages can do, either directly or through the products of Rogue Amoeba - audio capture from several sources.   Several people use these tools for audio Messages (for example) or Skype capture of several participants, as part of the capture of content for an audio podcast.

There are various podcasting discussions around, too.
