17 - fx114: Synaptics touchpad drivers Pinch Zoom cannot be disabled

I have done a clean install of update 1 W8.1 + added all patches + the drivers from the HP site to remove all the bloatware of the machine.

The machine works perfectly except for one thing.

The synaptics touchpad Control Panel applet drivers does not honor the deactivation of 2 fingers pinch zoom.

Also, I can't change the pinch zoom speed, which is a parameter associated with the title of this category.

Settings can be changed in the applet, but when I close the applet and the back, the check box is enabled and the cursor returns to the default position (not what I put).

All I have this problem and know how to fix?

I tried to test the registry database and it doesn't seem to be a specific "toggle" value for the pinch zoom - it a bunch of settings for the display of the window and how to disaplay video 'help' but nothing that obviously turns off the real feature! Laughing out loud!

Googling for the registry settings for the driver there is very little info and nothing specific to the settings I'm after.

All I want to do is completely disable the pinch-zoom.  There is a checkbox for it; why it does not work!

Hi, Sparkles, I followed upward...

I figured it out - I was missing the chipset drivers of intel - the SMBUS of MS aparently pilot was not 100% compatible (even if it is not 'bang' in Device Manager, he has not obviously supported all functions of the drivers intel).  So, here is what I did:

Removal of the touchpad in Device Manager (and also checked "uninstall driver" withdrawal confirms dialog).

Restarted.

Noticed that the Device Manager now had a shot for a SMBus device (not before - before I even did my own installation) - weird.

Tried to install the generic Synaptics drivers on their site - ng - only supports * SYN002 devices - it is * SY1E0C.

Since the SMBus device intel (DEV_8086...) I decided to reinstall the chipset drivers - AHAH!  I didn't upload them when I made my own installation!   DOH!

Installed the chipset drivers (after download) and restarted.   Peripheral SMBus is struck.

reinstalled Synaptics touchpad drivers (HP); restarted.

When the BONE is back upward I went clickpad settings and disabled the pinchzoom (without going into the void parameters) and clicked OK to close the settings clickpad application.

Returned - BOOM!  Check box is left UNCHECKED.  Checked Pinchzoom does not work in IE, etc.  YAY!

GOOD BLOOD!  I could have SWORN that I had installed the chipset drivers!

Anyway, resolved itself

THX,

Todd

I have a HP Envy TouchSmart UltraBook 4-1161er. Two fingers to scroll worked well in all modern user interface applications that come with the pre-installed operating system Windows 8.1, but the situation changed after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. Now this excellent and very useful two fingers scrolling does not work in the updated reader application. How to make it work?

I tried to find the latest drivers for the touchpad Synptics in my ultrabook on the HP website, but it's the same old v16.5.3.3, I already have (published in may 2013). Synatics official site contains a link to the latest touchpad driver pack v17.0.19. Can I install it?

I would try to install the Windows 8.1 (64-bit) driver Synaptics touchpad available in the download section of your sleekbook web support before using compatibility mode.  If the current driver does not work for you, try the earlier versions available .

If you have no positive results, then use the compatibility mode (select Windows 8) on all three Windows 8.1 synaptics touchpad drivers, starting with the most recent.

To use compatibility mode to install the driver just softpaq to the right, click on the file and choose troubleshoot compatibility. Select Windows 8 and run the installer.

  • 'Tap to click' Synaptics Touchpad, Panel of deactivation (not)

    Hello

I have just updated to Windows 7 a month ago and I had some problems with my function "tap-to-click. Now, before you continue, Yes, I know where to disable this feature Start-> Control Panel-> Search 'Mouse'-> blah blah blah, but unfortunately once I click on any of the settings to my mouse nothing appears. The screen moves to the background mode suggesting that she tries to pull something up, but nothing works. It becomes really upset me because I've always found tap-to-click feature more annoying on a laptop mouse. I'm very upset, and there is more no Synaptic Touchpad menu in my t-bar. Any suggestions?

I use an ASUS computer, but Windows 7 is so new to me and I can't get the computer out of my Properties menu information more.

I know this may sound crazy, but you have installed the Synaptics Touchpad drivers for Win7?

If there aren't any in Asus, there are some in the Toshiba that should also work.  http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/modelContent.jsp?CT=DL&OS=&category=&MOID=2475071&RPN=PSPG0U&modelFilter=P500-ST6822&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663# if this link does not (cookie), then the Support page (http://csd.toshiba.com), click on download, then the laptop... • Qosmio X 500-116 - Pinch Zoom on Synaptics touchpad sometimes does'nt work!

    Model - Qosmio X 500-116 (windows 7)

    Hi all

I m occasional annoying problems with my Synaptics touchpad V7.2

Every now and again the Pinch Zoom on Synaptics Touchpad does not work (it happens about once every 5 cycles). When this happens, I m impossible to enlarge/reduce the size of the screen of internet browsers or msoffice documents. Although I can still use the keyboard to increase or decrease the size.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver it came with (version - 13.2.7.3) but the problem remains the same.

I checked Toshiba site for the Synaptics Driver updates for my machine. It lists my current driver 13.2.7.3 and also another version of the 14.0.15.0 driver.

I figured that I d try to install version 14.0.15.0, that he went through the motions of the facility, then at the end, that nothing happened and he n t installed. So I went back to version 13.2.7.3

Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Bren

  • The faulty Synaptics Touchpad on x 2 13-m121sa Split driver causing frost and lack of response from the mouse

Edit: I found a solution, scroll down.

I had problems with my new Split x 2 similar to those already explained in the forums by other users. The symptoms are:

    1. unusual hanging or freezing of the mouse pointer on the screen and the use of gestures temperament (two fingers to scroll, zoom, etc.).

    2. slowdown in the computer in general; acting lethargic and freezing during light use or after closing the display.

The symptoms seem to change according to the duration of the computer was operated and are affected by the screen from the dock of disconnection/reconnection.

Being very good with these things, I decided to investigate and discovered the following:

The root cause of both problems is the driver for the Synaptics Touchpad. While the latest version available on the HP website (17.0.10.9) seems to solve all unusual freezing of the pointer it has a large memory leak. In other words, when you move it on the touchpad pointer uses the memory of the computer. This is normal, but the problem is that the driver for the touchpad does not return memory; It cannot be reassigned. In other words, after a few hours of computer use (or to have the display closed) memory reached saturation point and the version of the computer to a halt.

If you encounter the same problem take a look for yourself: open the Task Manager and look at the performance tab. Under the brief entitled you will find a value for "Non paged pool. With the computer idle, this number will not rise, but move the mouse and you will see it go gradually upwards without return. I have confirmed this to be the Synaptics driver using the Windows tool poolmon.exe - the culprits are the Irp and SynT.

About the solutions, I tried a lot - but there is no absolute solution.

You can uninstall the Synaptics Touchpad driver and the problem will disappear - the memory usage is no longer freezing or high. But unless the driver that the computer is to use the standard Windows driver - there is therefore no multitouch gestures like scroll or zoom in.

I tried to install the generic Synaptics driver available on their site, and the computer will not allow him. Regardless of this, I forced the installation of the driver, but the generic driver does not work with this Touchpad anyway (error code 10). I tried the latest version (17.0.19) and a former one (16.2.21) without success. Even earlier (e.g. 15.x.x) refused to run on the grounds of incompatibility.

HP support suggested a "Refresh" of system setting to factory, but put aside from the huge inconvenience of time and losing files - I know that this does not work either. Apparently a clean install worked for a single user - but for this you need an installation of Windows or USB disc that I did not - and I am skeptical that it would work anyway.

So now I use the touchpad driver Windows standard without being able to scroll, zoom or use them slide-in gestures of Windows 8.1.

If a representative from HP is reading this, I strongly suggest that this issue be escalated. A simple update to Synaptics could solve this problem which is causing the computers people freeze and lose your support staff time.

TL; DR: Driver HP Touchpad is defective and causes a memory leak. Synaptics has generic drivers do not work. And the standard Windows drivers are not satisfactory.

    SOLVED!

Through my own research I found a solution. While the most recent driver listed under this model is 17.0.10.9 it is actually a newer version which doesn't have this problem: version 17.0.10.16!

I am always disappointed that HP has not suggest this solution themselves, given this driver was published in November 2013! HP if you're reading this: Please allow this driver for this model in your support pages.

In any case, the solution is:

    1. open Device Manager (Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Device Manager)

2 in the 'mice and other pointing devices' open «HID Synaptics TouchPad»

    3. in the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".

    4. the pointer will disappear - restart the computer

    5. download the new driver from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk & lc = on & softwareitem = ob-127354-1

(if that link fails try to search online for 'synaptics driver 17.0.10.16')

    6. open and install the driver

  • Satellite A205-S5831: TouchPad tapping cannot be disabled - SOLUTION

There are several other online on the same forums, and I felt Toshiba was the best place to post the solution to the problem.

Description of the problem: cannot turn off the tap of the mouse to click the feature of Vista. Synaptics driver has the opportunity to turn the feature on, and outside, but it is grayed out.

Other forums suggested to uninstall and then reinstall the Synaptics driver. Get the latest Toshiba, or get the latest driver from Synaptics driver but none of this has worked for me. However, it claimed the driver Synaptics of Synaptics.com worked for him or her.

Here is my solution on 2 forums on geekstogo.com (what kind of name is that anyway?):

I had exactly the same problem and I feel obligated to post the solution I found that it would have saved me hours and maybe he will save the next person hours. I hope that everyone uses the same courtesy so forums like these are useful.

I have a solution, but first let me vent. This problem has been quite the problem more frustrating and stupid. Why anyone who knows hit want type to click? It's such a frustrating feature. In addition, why would anyone software development does not give the user the ability to disable? Synaptics touchpad old drivers for XP are 100 times better. I don't understand the lack of functionality in the new.

I checked on Toshiba.com for touchpad drivers for my satellite A205-S5831 and noticed that there is a driver Alps. I have downloaded this driver, uninstalled the driver Synaptics (uninstalled option programs and Featuers in the control panel) and installed the driver Alps. The Alps driver includes many options over the Synaptics driver does not work, including turning off the tap to click.

I hope that this solution works for others.

Info thank you for sharing this with us.

I've also noticed that Toshiba touchpad requires two different drivers. There is Synaptics driver and the other is driver Alps.

You need two drivers to get the full touchpad control.

    See you soon

  • HP Jet 11-d010nr: flow 11 HP Touchpad drivers

Problem: touch pad does not work.

My 11 flow HP acted a bit off after upgrading Windows 10, so I finally had the time to do a clean install with Windows 10.

Everything works fine now except the touchpad doesn't work at all.

Things I've tried and other information:

-J' I would be a bit of Google and I tried a lot of different 'solutions' on the son, I could find, which none have worked. Most of the solutions is a little older when W10 was always an overview and drivers were not available on the hp site as they are now.

-J' have model 11-d010nr and I installed all the drivers available on the hp site, including the touchpad drivers that are listed.

-Windows Update installed "- Pointing - Synaptics HID Device Design - Synaptics Synaptics Pointing drawing software update released in July 2015" without change.

-There are no unknown device in Device Manager.

-There is none "Mouse and other pointing devices" listed in the devices in addition to my logitech mouse Manager, I plugged.

-"Synaptics" is not anywhere under programs. Even after having tried it 4 different of synaptics software/driver who engaged in the installation and said "complete" installation files There is a folder called 'Synaptics' with the subfolder according to 'C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP', but only two files .ini inside.

-J' tried the Synaptics site, no change drivers.

It seems that the touchpad does not yet exist in the hardware. So I can't uninstall a driver wrong/bad for him, cannot see that this is not even to have a driver, etc.

Thanks in advance, really need the touchpad!

Hi, I did a new install of Windows 10 on my 11 stream also and the touchpad does not work after installation, until I installed the drivers from the chipset of the hp.com site.  I don't know why this does not work for you.

In fact, I think only, I installed the chipset drivers and not the touchpad driver so maybe that made the difference.

  • Compaq Presario CQ42: Synaptics Touchpad disabled in advanced settings for other users

    Hello

I have three in my Compaq Presario CQ-42 user profiles, an administrator and others are "user".

When I fisrt lives the synaptics touch settings window buffer through my first profile "User" 1, in the properties of the mouse-> device-> Synaptics LuxPad V7.4-> settings settings, all the options in this window were available for selection and nobody has been disabled. Now when I go to 'Administrator' profile, some of the options in this window settings are disabled, and seem to be partly hidden. As the option 'Enable the Pinch Zoom in the Pinch Zoom section' and 'Activate Pivot spin turn' seems to be hidden/disabled. To check this, I created the other profile of 'Other users' 2, but without success, and I found the same problem here too. I also tried to uninstall the synaptics driver several times of all profiles, but every time I have re-installed and checked to get the same result. The parameters were only available for the 'User' 1 profile every time and disable for profile administrator and "User 2" profile.

I can produce the same shots if necessary.

Please help me to get the solution because I'm very addicted to advanced by synaptics settings.

Hello Dishat, welcome to the Forums of HP.

It seems that you need to activate the advanced settings of your touchpad on your laptop, you are only able to do this in a profile, as in the other some options are grayed out. I will try to help you with this.

To help you more effectively on this issue, could you please provide the following:

The operating system currently installed on your laptop.
Model and product numbers on your laptop.

In the meantime, see if it can help you all: use and configure the TouchPad (Windows 7 and Vista).

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Synaptics touchpad 64-bit improvements has stopped working.

    Hi guys,.

I recently bought new HP 15-r022tx Notebook PC (product number: J6M27PA) which comes with free back, installed windows 7 x 64 and set to update all drivers HP online, after all the last update I get an error message at startup "synaptics touchpad 64-bit improvements has stopped working".

have tried to configure the settings of the mouse but wen I try to access the setting of the mouse, I get an error message "unable to connect to the synaptics pointing device driver.

have uninstalled and re installed driver from hp support still the same problem.

so after some research online and no luck in one of them, I continued using tour by closing the program on the first error message every time you start no function touchpad synaptics as two key scrolling, zoom etc... but sometimes the cursor jumps erratically all about and moves on its own with no contacts in the touchpad, click options do not work wen cursor strats to move each time you start himself, after an observation that I noticed that the mouse works well on (by closing the program some special functions on the error without touchpads) until I right click it (sometimes after the first click a few times After several clicks) until I right click on using the keyboard, the mouse seems to be working well but after I right click of the mouse, he goes to his way.

    any suggestions guys

    Thanks guys...

Finally, I found a fix for the touchpad driver. Looking at the page of the recommended laptop touchpad driver laptop 15-r022tx, I noticed that in the tab system requirements, only Windows 8 is mentioned. It seems that this driver only works for Windows 8. In Google search again for the Synaptics touchpad driver, I found this link to the HP Web site.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?CC=UK&LC=en&softwareitem=ob-116587-1

This driver is supported for all variants of Windows 7 - x 32 and x 64 (as told by the website).

The driver in this link works perfectly well for computer laptop 15-r022tx. Downloaded and installed the driver. He followed with a reboot. The multi touch features and scrollbars now work correctly in my Windows 7 x 64 operating system.

PS: If this solution helped you, please give a shout out to this post.

Try to install the Synaptics drivers and Alps touchpad page pilot European Toshiba.
Choose the touchpad Win 7 drivers out for a satellite L500 series.

By the way; the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 button combination. It is not necessary to have all the options if FN + F9 works very well.

  • Equium P300-16 t with Synaptics touchpad. Stuck left button?

    Hi all

I have an Equium P300-16 t with a Synaptics touchpad.
A few months back I had the following problem. As soon as I touch the touchpad or the left/right button, the icon will appear to show the button on the left as being depressed; It would be nice up to this point. I've updated the drivers, tried a system restore, checked under the button of touchpad for obstruction etc and nothing has changed.
I made a completely new reinstall of Windows... still the same problem. Suspected a defective touchpad, so I contacted Topaz for a replacement touchpad mounted that and still the same problem.

so... after having eliminated defective drivers/software/hardware, I'm out of ideas. Is there anything else I can check?

Works very well with a USB mouse.

    Thank you

    James

    > As soon as I touch the touchpad or the left/right button, the icon will appear to show the button on the left as being depressed; It would be nice up to this point

I think you should check the settings.
In Control Panel-> mouse-> last (Advanced) tab-> the Advanced Settings button

Here, you should be able to get all the parameters of the touchpad.
In my case, I found interesting feature in the speed of the pointer and typing parameters.

There is a charming area of tape, and if you enable registration you could get access to other environments of tapping.
The option is called DragLock in my case that his automatic release and auto release delay value is set on the court.
    Recommend you check this!

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but that has not worked. I would rather not reinstall windows if I didn't, so I decided to come here. All advice is appreciated.

Hey, I had the same problem and it's really frustrating.

Here's what I did to solve the problem, I hope it helps.

Open 'Control Panel' by clicking on search and enter the control panel.

Then, open "Synaptics Touchpad", it will have a version number after it I think. Mine did.

Then click Advanced in the upper tabs.

Then you should see that a "filter activation time" set it to zero seconds.

Test now by typing and then move the mouse and see if that fixes the problem... it's me.
