HP ENVY M6-1105dx: Synaptics Touchpad freezes briefly after typing

The touchpad of my HP Envy M6 1105dx hangs for several seconds after you type on the keyboard, each time. This problem started after I upgraded to windows 10. My drivers are up to date. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but that has not worked. I would rather not reinstall windows if I didn't, so I decided to come here. All advice is appreciated.

Hey, I had the same problem and it's really frustrating.

Here's what I did to solve the problem, I hope it helps.

Open 'Control Panel' by clicking on search and enter the control panel.

Then, open "Synaptics Touchpad", it will have a version number after it I think. Mine did.

Then click Advanced in the upper tabs.

Then you should see that a "filter activation time" set it to zero seconds.

Test now by typing and then move the mouse and see if that fixes the problem... it's me.

    Hello

I've updated my laptop it has windows 8.1 to 10 and for a few days then my touchpad/pointer has been gel 4-5 seconds after I touch any key on the keyboard. for example. If I hit enter then I can't move the pointer for a few seconds... I can always use the left and right click while the pointer does not move.

Everything worked perfectly until I upgraded to windows 10 and everything else outside the mouse freezing seems to work properly after the upgrade.

Any help fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • The faulty Synaptics Touchpad on x 2 13-m121sa Split driver causing frost and lack of response from the mouse

Edit: I found a solution, scroll down.

I had problems with my new Split x 2 similar to those already explained in the forums by other users. The symptoms are:

    1. unusual hanging or freezing of the mouse pointer on the screen and the use of gestures temperament (two fingers to scroll, zoom, etc.).

    2. slowdown in the computer in general; acting lethargic and freezing during light use or after closing the display.

The symptoms seem to change according to the duration of the computer was operated and are affected by the screen from the dock of disconnection/reconnection.

Being very good with these things, I decided to investigate and discovered the following:

The root cause of both problems is the driver for the Synaptics Touchpad. While the latest version available on the HP website (17.0.10.9) seems to solve all unusual freezing of the pointer it has a large memory leak. In other words, when you move it on the touchpad pointer uses the memory of the computer. This is normal, but the problem is that the driver for the touchpad does not return memory; It cannot be reassigned. In other words, after a few hours of computer use (or to have the display closed) memory reached saturation point and the version of the computer to a halt.

If you encounter the same problem take a look for yourself: open the Task Manager and look at the performance tab. Under the brief entitled you will find a value for "Non paged pool. With the computer idle, this number will not rise, but move the mouse and you will see it go gradually upwards without return. I have confirmed this to be the Synaptics driver using the Windows tool poolmon.exe - the culprits are the Irp and SynT.

About the solutions, I tried a lot - but there is no absolute solution.

You can uninstall the Synaptics Touchpad driver and the problem will disappear - the memory usage is no longer freezing or high. But unless the driver that the computer is to use the standard Windows driver - there is therefore no multitouch gestures like scroll or zoom in.

I tried to install the generic Synaptics driver available on their site, and the computer will not allow him. Regardless of this, I forced the installation of the driver, but the generic driver does not work with this Touchpad anyway (error code 10). I tried the latest version (17.0.19) and a former one (16.2.21) without success. Even earlier (e.g. 15.x.x) refused to run on the grounds of incompatibility.

HP support suggested a "Refresh" of system setting to factory, but put aside from the huge inconvenience of time and losing files - I know that this does not work either. Apparently a clean install worked for a single user - but for this you need an installation of Windows or USB disc that I did not - and I am skeptical that it would work anyway.

So now I use the touchpad driver Windows standard without being able to scroll, zoom or use them slide-in gestures of Windows 8.1.

If a representative from HP is reading this, I strongly suggest that this issue be escalated. A simple update to Synaptics could solve this problem which is causing the computers people freeze and lose your support staff time.

TL; DR: Driver HP Touchpad is defective and causes a memory leak. Synaptics has generic drivers do not work. And the standard Windows drivers are not satisfactory.

    SOLVED!

Through my own research I found a solution. While the most recent driver listed under this model is 17.0.10.9 it is actually a newer version which doesn't have this problem: version 17.0.10.16!

I am always disappointed that HP has not suggest this solution themselves, given this driver was published in November 2013! HP if you're reading this: Please allow this driver for this model in your support pages.

In any case, the solution is:

    1. open Device Manager (Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Device Manager)

2 in the 'mice and other pointing devices' open «HID Synaptics TouchPad»

    3. in the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".

    4. the pointer will disappear - restart the computer

    5. download the new driver from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk & lc = on & softwareitem = ob-127354-1

(if that link fails try to search online for 'synaptics driver 17.0.10.16')

    6. open and install the driver

I hope this helps. HP, please send my consulting fees through PayPal (!)

  • Satellite C660 - TouchPad freeze at startup

Hi I'm new and this is my first post so please be gentle!

I have a Satellite C660 with windows 7 purchased as a refurb factory it is my 1st laptop, I have a problem after startup, and everything loaded on my desktop, it seems that if I use my TouchPad too early it freezes, he did it since I bought it, but I thought it was me being not used to a touchpad and the "bloatware" to start is the only way I can get the pointer to move if I have a finger from the top to the bottom of line scrolling to the right of the TouchPad horizontally or diagonally, it moves very slowly until I can be open and close a browser window, the file or even the startup window, then it will then act as usual and do not freeze again for my entire session If I leave it for five minutes at the start, it works fine, sometimes it will freeze also out of standby or hibernation, but not always.

OK, I thought maybe it was the necessary driver update I checked in Device Manager and it said it was working properly but that of course is when the pointer is as it should be, in the Device Manager if I pilot of the touchpad/driver/update and internet search it tells me I have the drivers updated If I choose to search for a driver on my computer/let pick me from a list of device drivers that I have the following:-

    Mouse Compatible PS/2
    Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
    Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
    Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

I should have all those showing? can someone with a file of similar specifications check that for me please?

strange thing is that if I go to TouchPad properties via the taskbar, and then click driver all options except the driver Details are grayed out and done, I can open two windows of TouchPad properties from the device and the task bar manager and have them on the screen at the same time.

Some things I should mention are a mouse in the usb works fine, I stopped a lot of the "bloatware" and would help the useless stuff running at startup, hoping that I have disabled the function of locking of the click on the TouchPad, sound as it needs to be "warmed up" to run correctly when running properly it works fine without problem as the laptop came pre installed and only Disc I have is the recovery one create you the initial Setup!
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello

First of all, I don t think that this problem is related to the installed touchpad driver but if you wish, you can install the latest touchpad driver available from the European driver Toshiba.

Visit the European driver Toshiba page and choose:
Computer laptop Satellite Satellite C series Satellite C660 driver Touchpad

Now you should get all the touchpad driver available for C660 series.
I found the driver for the touchpad Synaptics for Win7 32 bit and 64 bit.
The latest version seems to be v15.2.11.1

I think you should go to Panel of-> Software
Check here if Synaptics touchpad driver appear in the list of installed software.
    If so, uninstall the present.
Then, download and install the Synaptics v15.2.11.1 driver

The touchpad settings could be changed in Control Panel-> mouse-> tab advanced-> button Advanced.

  • TouchPad freezes on Satellite L40 - 18Z

    Hi all, first Post.

I am a former technician of I.T. & worked on computers since 1984, & on laptops since 2001.

This topic is mainly about the L40 - 18Z, but 2 other models are mentioned.

I met a problem with the TouchPad on a Toshiba L40 - 18Z, (& also an A100-338) running costs two installs 32-bit Vista Home Premium but not a recovery Partition or a Dvd.
Same problem as well on a L300 - 25K running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.

The touchpad freezes sometimes. Sometimes, you can move the arrow cursor, but very slowly.

All 3 work fine, now with a Usb mouse.

ALL the latest drivers on the Toshiba site are installed on laptops all 3.
All updates are installed with Microsoft.
ALL have the latest Bios updates.

The L300 - 25K & the A100-338, I think I solved the problem by installing the package of value added, but the VAP software is not listed in the section for the L40 drivers.
I tried both the L300 & A100 VAP on the L40, but they did not work.

Strangely, on the L40, I reduced the 1280 x 800 screen resolution to 1280 x 768 & the problem seems to have, at least for the last day or so!

Also, I found that unplugging the power cord "cured" the problem on all 3 laptops right now.

I tried to feed all 3 laptops without batteries at the same time that the fault occurred, but cela made no difference, while the batteries must be in agreement.

The L300 is my own personal laptop & the other 2 are members of the family.

I don't think that laptops specifications is relevant to this problem, but let's go anyway:

    Toshiba Equium L40 - 18Z (PSL48E-033008EN)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T2330 @ 1.60 ghz
    1.5 GB Ram Pc2-5300
    80 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba A100-338 (PSAAQE-006008AV)
    32-bit Vista Home Premium
    Intel Cpu T5200 @ 1.60 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    100 GB SATA Hdd
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

    Toshiba L300 - 25K (PSLB9E-03M02UEN)
32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium (original Vista HP)
    Intel Celeron 900 Cpu @ 2.20 ghz
    2 GB Pc2-5300 Ram
    120 GB SATA hard drive
    TruBrite Lcd 15.4 "

I would go to the bottom of this for all future repairs, so if anyone has any suggestions...?

    > I found that C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTPEnh.exe has been "blocked" so I moved the file to the desktop, unlocked, then he came back

SynTPEnh.exe belongs to the Synaptics touchpad driver and I think that you have software installed on the laptop that doesn't work with this touchpad driver
It's only a guess, but maybe some firewall or anti-virus tool could block this exe. Maybe you should check it using a clean operating system.

Also try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad maybe it helps.

  • X 360 13-4101dx spectrum: spectrum x 360 (13-4101dx) Synaptics Touchpad issue

Hello, I just bought a new spectrum x 360 (13-4101dx), preloaded with Windows 10 and I have problems with the Synaptics touchpad. After an update of Windows, the driver has been updated to version 19.0.12.95.  I have a reverse scrolling disabled, but for some applications, the two fingers scrolling is always reversed. Applications like Google Chrome and Device Manager are working fine, reverse scrolling is disabled. However, for applications like Windows, Microsoft Edge settings and practically everything related to Windows, it seems to be reversed at all times. In addition, whenever I restart my laptop, all parameters returned to default.

Now, on my HP Envy 15-j000, I have the same driver (19.0.12.95) and that I encounter the same problems with being "permanent" reverse scrolling on Windows-related applications. However, the settings still restarts after every reboot.

How can I fix? Synaptics will publish a fixed driver for this or am I just missing something? I hate the reverse scrolling and only a small handful of my applications actually traveled with this option disabled.

I have this same problem with my HP OMEN using the 19.0.12.95 driver, windows update says that it is the latest version of the driver. Scrolling is reversed in some applications/settings.

I fixed this problem by going back to an older driver (18.1.30.2), the scrolling is now uniform. A little annoying that I had to fix this way, but I had to go to the drivers/HP Omen support page and download the driver for the synaptics touchpad (even if the HP website insist that use Windows update for Windows 10). I had to then install the old driver, go into Device Manager and do back the driver to 18.1.30.2 - win 10 will use the latest driver unless you do this. After that you can change the setting in the settings of the synaptics clickpad, and it will be uniform. This is what worked for me.

    Hello saandeepa,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your touchpad freezes on your HP Pavilion Notebook 15.

Let's start by ensuring that drivers are up to date. You can find them here: Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

  • HP split 13 X 2-mouse / Touchpad FREEZES

I just bought the HP 13 X 2 Split and in the first time I started to make the experience of the mouse freezes all the time.

When I go into Device Manager, I see a exclamation mark on two different hardware, not both at the same time, it keeps alternating between Touchpad (error 43 cod3) and also on Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.

Both say that a device malfunction filed windows to stop the machine and he said: this is the problem driver or physical problem, the thing is that I've updated every single driver this laptop of HP Support Assistant, including the wireless mouse, bios, everything... I've updated to Windows 8.1... I've updated the drivers from the Intel/Synaptic Web site, I tried all updates and none of them worked, the issue still multibordure every time.

I can get the touchpad working again if I restart the computer, or if I remove the device and then ask windows to find new hardware, or sometimes if I deactivate and reactivate. But sometimes the only way to restart the computer.

Is my product number: E8C34UA #ABA

Product name: HP Split 13 X 2 PC

In addition, I did a recovery of the plant using HP to see recovery it freezes again, just to confirm if it was the drivers of modernization that caused, and it doesn't occur, but less often, and after I did the recovery (can not cancel the update of the bios) I can't upgrade the Synaptics TouchPad of HP Support Assistant driver , it downlaods and it fails when it tries to install, but it gives no detailed error, says she didn't.

Any help before I return this unit?

Please... I really liked the computer, but I can't keep it without the mouse works correctly.

    Thanks for any help.

    FIX OF A PROBLEM

Just to let you know all that I was sure that the whole problem, it wasn't driver or any type of configuration that was leading my touchpad, ssd, usb, audio and hdmi for defective.

I experienced the problem in the first week, I bought this laptop, but because I live in the Brazil and I'll usually once a year to visit the USA I couldn't use the guarantee to maintain the product for a few weeks.

That I decided to buy two Digital connectors and to open up the laptop. I tried to find on HP Store these parts, but they were not available there, so, I went to eBay and bought two pieces.

First, I opened the dockstation (it was easier), but the problem persists, then I opened the laptop itself and replaced the conector original with a new all my problems went away<>

My HDMI not working, my right USB just worked with a gadget 2.0 in this regard, the touchpad couldn't have more than a few minutes without giving me the "device failed - code 43 descriptor" on windows, and now everything works perfectly as it is supposed to work.

If someone wants to give this photo of a trial, the part number of the material that I replaced was:

    36888-001 48.41l04.011 HP DOCKING CONNECTOR CARD W / CABLE SPLIT 13 - G 13-G110DX

If someone needs more details, you can send me a message and I can help, I almost threw the phone on the wall once and I can image the frustration to have it malfunction all the time.

  • Aspire V3-371 Touchpad freeze

I have an Aspire new V3-371-596F.  Since it first started, I had problems with the touchpad freeze randomly.  The sroll two fingers is reversed, and I can't access all the settings to change the direction, either.  I downloaded the Synaptics driver on the Acer site, but Windows will not let me install the driver for the touchpad.

When I go into the Manager of peripherals-> mouse and other pointing devices, one device listed there: HID-compliant mouse.  He said that the manufacturer is Microsoft and not Synaptics.  When I try to update driver, I select the synaptic downloaded driver it says the best driver for my device is already installed.

How do you tell the computer on which it has not installed Microsoft mouse so I can use the right Synaptics driver?

    Thanks for any help.

Edit: I should also mention that a Synaptics HID device appears in the device-> Human Interface Devices Manager.  However, windows does not seem to recognize that this device is the mouse.

    Hi all...

I'll be back at Local Acer Service Center called the "highlights".

I send in the laptop of V3-371 yesterday (15.10.14) and I got it back later (16.10.14)

On the part of the technician, he told me that something wrong with the touchpad.

They rework the jury of the touchpad, which means that they resolder the Board touhpad and reconnect the touchpad cable.

Solve the problem, no more freezing issue now.

Dear friends, you and send it and try this...

  • Synaptics touchpad two fingers scrolling does not work in the player to develop modern UI application Windows 8.1

I have a HP Envy TouchSmart UltraBook 4-1161er. Two fingers to scroll worked well in all modern user interface applications that come with the pre-installed operating system Windows 8.1, but the situation changed after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. Now this excellent and very useful two fingers scrolling does not work in the updated reader application. How to make it work?

If the problem is in the drivers, maybe, install the drivers the latest may correct this?

I tried to find the latest drivers for the touchpad Synptics in my ultrabook on the HP website, but it's the same old v16.5.3.3, I already have (published in may 2013). Synatics official site contains a link to the latest touchpad driver pack v17.0.19. Can I install it?

I would try to install the Windows 8.1 (64-bit) driver Synaptics touchpad available in the download section of your sleekbook web support before using compatibility mode.  If the current driver does not work for you, try the earlier versions available .

If you have no positive results, then use the compatibility mode (select Windows 8) on all three Windows 8.1 synaptics touchpad drivers, starting with the most recent.

To use compatibility mode to install the driver just softpaq to the right, click on the file and choose troubleshoot compatibility. Select Windows 8 and run the installer.

The following video has a decent explanation, but the Narrator does not get to the point for a bit. Go directly to the minute 4 and watch it from there.

If I understand your question, the touchpad icon appear while typing and this can be solved temporarily disable the touchpad by pressing the FN + F9.
    Is this correct?

To my knowledge, you can disable the touchpad while typing by selecting the option in the control panel > mouse-> tab device pointing (in some cases its Advanced tab)-> setting button

There are area called operations during key entry
And here, you can choose the option is called tapping to disable and turn off scroll function

    Hello

Try to install the Synaptics drivers and Alps touchpad page pilot European Toshiba.
Choose the touchpad Win 7 drivers out for a satellite L500 series.

By the way; the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 button combination. It is not necessary to have all the options if FN + F9 works very well.
