2 different values of total physical memory HPremium Vista64

Hello

Problem solved. TomsHardware forum - Vista 64 8 GB DDR2 only 3 GB display.
I got into MSCONFIG in start - MAX RAM 3 GB controlled Advanced Settings tab.
No idea why, but he was there and I wasn't aware of these parameters there.
After reboot and uncheck option MAX RAM OS shows 6 GB even in task managers.

I have problem with 2 different values reported total available physical memory.

I run Vista64 Home Premium SP2 on card mother Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2L.
MB has 4 memory slots 0-3 for the chips PC6400 DIMM, MB spec said on the stand upwards to 8 GB of system memory.
According to HWinfo32 these niches have memory banks 0/1 2/3 4/5 and 6/7.

I added 2 * 2 GB Kingston chips pairs in slots 0 and 2 (same color slot).
and put the original 2 GB Apacer single-chip for slot 1 (color different connector)
(AFAIK DIMM should be matched 0 + 2, 1 + 3, correct me if I'm wrong...)

BIOS said running in the (expected) Flex mode, when a part of the memory is double-channneled, and part is not.
There is no setting in BIOS potential question of 4 GB, or suspicious parameters posibly do.
(You can consult the manual of MB linl below)
I have the seller last MB drivers installed
Claims of the seller MB supports 8 GB memory system.
MB on Microsoft pages listed among the Wista32/64 bit certified MBs.

Now:
BIOS page pasic said 6144 MB of installed memory.
The BIOS POST test reports 6 GB of memory.
Windows Control Panel reports 6 GB system information.
Utility CPU - Z shows 6 GB 2 GB for all chips.
HWiNFO32 utility reports 6 GB.
MEMTEST32 boot CD, initially used for testing memory, says 6 GB.
Live CD of Mandriva Linux 2010.0 says 3 x with installed/activated 2048/2048 MB memory cards

But why Windows task manager and Process Explorer (latest version 14.01)
ask there total 3 GB?

Problem solved. TomsHardware forum - Vista 64 8 GB DDR2 only 3 GB display.

I got into MSCONFIG in start - MAX RAM 3 GB controlled Advanced Settings tab.
I have no idea why, ig, it was default settings or if I played with it in very deep past.
After unchecking and restarted the process Explorer shows 6 GB.

  • Total physical memory and the total virtual memory

    Hello

When I checked the repressive information of my laptop computer on which Windows XP SP3 installed, I discovered that RAM is of approximately:

    Total physical memory: 2.048 MB
    Available physical memory: 1.32 GB

    Total virtual memory: 2 GB
    Total available memory: 1.96 GB

As this screen shot in Arabic shows:

I don't really know what mean these four memories.

It would be very much appreciated

Physical memory is actual RAM that is installed inyour PC is fast enough with respect to access to the data

Virtual memory is not physical in terms that you can't touch it or remomve it. Vitutal is a section of hard disk space unused which is used on-site for faster physical memory that your PC does not have memory.

Because the hard drive is slower interms of access data to physical memory, your PC will see improved performance by adding or replacing existing physical memory with amounts more or more (512 MB or more)

Virtual memory allows your computer to always run, but at a slower speed when you run applications that have used all of the physical memory. Remember, even before starting a program already running the operating system and other services which each allocate a block of physical memory for themselves. You can see exactly how much is used by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and display of the process tab and the performance tab.

You can easily determine what your need to add to your PC memory by visiting a site like Crucial.com which allows you to scan your pc for the type of memory used.

  • Total physical memory installed physical memory vs

    Hello all;

I've been running a Windows Server 2008 (VM) for about a year without any real problems. We have some software (written by a 3rd party) that uses a SQL database.

The software started hanging randomly during the day for all users, other applications are not made only this software. I put the question to the people who wrote the program, and they discovered something in their search for a settlement.

When you open msinfo32 on the server the following is reported.

Physical memory (RAM) installed 10.0 GB
    Total physical memory 2.00 GB
    708 MB available physical memory
    20.2 GB total virtual memory
    8,82 GB available virtual memory
    Page file space 10.3 GB
    Paging file C:\pagefile.sys

Installed physical memory is the same as total physical memory?

When you access the system, it shows 10 GB as expected and Manager tasks also physical memory as 10238.

I read somewhere on the MAXMEM in Msconfig. I had a look here, all of the boxes where unchecked. When you check the Maxmem 10238 appears. When you 'ok' out, then pull up the it shows 2048 (weird) so I have that nothing is done.

I have 512 MB of total physical memory and my sys info I have 181 MB of physical memory left available shows.  I have 2 GB of virtual memory total with 1.96 GB available left. page file space 1.20 GB is.

My computer seems really slow and I did all the viruses with microsoft and webroot and its own projections. I have cleaned and defragmented disk and seems to cling to certain times and especially if you click on frown again on a page "hung up". It will giveyou the hourglass effect and will not respond. Any other suggestions to make? I have XP Edition family sp3 and all updates for windows explorer 8. Thank you!

Looks like you have lots of RAM. But if you want to double-check, skip to #4 below.

Brand and model of the PC? XP Home or Pro, or MCE? What are you doing SP level to? Have you installed XP security update patches? What security programs (antivirus, other antimalware, firewall, etc.) are you running? Are they up-to-date?

Here are the usual causes of slow:

    1. malware (malware). You need to rule out first! This page has excellent information:

    http://Web.archive.org/Web/20080610163247/http :// www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

    2. some programs aimed at combating malware (for example, Norton and McAfee). Ironically, they can slow things down because they use simply much too many resources. Sometimes they cause conflicts with other programs. And their default mode is to scan your entire hard drive whenever you start. Fortunately, there are other programs of anti-malware software available that use much less resources (p. ex., NOD32, Avast and Avira).

    3. too much of certain types of programs still running in background - with or without your consent. (Then again, a lot of programs running in the background of the consequences trivial.)

To determine each program and process, you are running, use the task (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) Manager and click the processes tab. You should be able to sort by CPU usage or memory usage for a good ideas that are resource/memory hogs. You must write the names of all the processes for future detective work (or take a snapshot and print it).

Use these sites to determine what these programs are, and learn how configure them to not always run when starting:

    http://www.PACS-portal.co.UK/startup_content.php#THE_PROGRAMS
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/
    http://www.AnswersThatWork.com/Tasklist_pages/Tasklist.htm

Sometimes, it is recommended to use msconfig to configure programs to run at startup. A better, more thorough program is Autoruns:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

But before that, you must use the settings preference of the program in question. Otherwise, for some programs, they will return to the list of startup anyway!

If you do not want to use msconfig, it can be accessed in this way:

Start | Run | Type "msconfig" (without the quotes). Enter (or OK)

    4. not enough RAM, causing the PC too rely on the pagefile. A quick way to determine if what is happening is to open (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Then the three values under Commit Charge (k) Note: in the lower left corner: Total, limit and peak.

The Total number represents the amount of memory you are using right now. The vertex figure represents the maximum amount of memory you made since the last boot. If these figures are lower than the value of the amount of physical memory (K), then you probably have lots of RAM. In case you want to study it more, you can run the Page queue Monitor for Windows XP:

    http://www.dougknox.com/XP/utils/xp_pagefilemon.htm

    5. you can also verify that the access mode of your hard drive has not changed from DMA to PIO:

  • Pavilion HPE-110nl lost the physical memory

Product name: HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 110nl desktop PC

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 SP1

After an electricity break my PC had only 2008 total physical memory MB instead of the normal MB 6104. The memory is there (SIW Gabriel Topala, gives information, 3 Slots with 2048 MB memory-property), but is not displayed in the system - physical memory summary. Already before this summer, this problem existed without clear reason. He disappeared until the day when, after a sudden power outage cost in our village. Control procedure of memory Windows was OK, and also the recovery of the system did not have any results.

Note that after the blackout, there was an announcement, which I took the default choice of the two options to continue with the PC to connect. I don't remember what was said in the announcement.

  • Maximum physical memory for 32 bit ESX 3.5?

I have a deployment ESX 3.5 (update 5) with 3 servers Dell PowerEdge 2970 (2 processors AMD Opteron 2212 he x).  Each server has 8 GB of physical memory.

However, the operating system on each ESX Server is 32 x I could really only allocate a total of 4 GB of memory and it had to be a x 64 OS for use & gt; 4 GB of physical memory. Now, I know that something is different because the VI Client sees all the 8 GB and appear to be using everything, so I guess my question is how much memory can the ESX allocate/use 32-bit operating system?

    Hello

In general the BSOD is the product of the problem of hardware or software problem. To check if it of software or hardware associated with deliver its necessary to reinstall the OS and check if the BSOD will appear using the new OS preinstalled.
Of course, it s painful to do that because the recovery procedure would format the HARD drive and therefore the data backup is necessary!

I don t think that the different input voltage might affect the functionality of the laptop computer because the laptop uses the universal adapter that supports entry 100V-240V.

BSOD can be caused by faulty memory modules so I think that this test of memory could be useful also

  • Different values of Excitation in the same spot

    Hello

I am trying to acquire signals of pressure two sensors of pressure simultaneously using DAQ Assistant. I use an Ethernet NI DAQ with the NI 9237 Module chassis. One of the transducers requires a voltage of 10 vdc, while the other transducer requires 5 vdc excitation. I created a task DAQ Assistant with two channels (one for each transducer). When I run the VI, it returns the following error:

Error-200257 occurred to the DAQ Assistant

    Possible reasons:

Property of excitement must be the same for the related physical channels.

Refer to the documentation for more information on the definition of excitement through the related physical channels.

    Conflicting properties

    Property: AI. Excit.Src
    Value: Internal

    Property: AI. Excit.Val
    Value: 10.0

    Channel name: Pressure_1

It looks like using different excitations causing the problem. Can you please help me solve this problem in order to acquire simultaneous action of the two sensors and provide the necessary excitement for each of them.

    Aaron_W

Thank you for your response. Based on what you posted and I expected different values of excitement are at the origin of the problem. However, I am always looking for another solution instead of buying an additional module because it is quite expensive for a student like me.

  • BlueScreen: Physical memory dump

Yes, until recently (18-20 November) my phone worked relatively well. I had a few updates around the 10 that I was not being updated with, and having done, I started to receive discharges of physical memory. My first solution was restoring to before I updated my computer, which worked. I reinstalled my updates after a good 4-5 hours, but ends up with the blue screen 10 minutes after a session shortly after. I looked at the thread of August, but these updates caused no memory dumps. On the side, I removed the update causing a bluescreen different I still have to meet, and I don't know if it's the Manager of my dump (KB9XXXXX, lost the related forum). I also try to avoid that at ALL COSTS because I know that damage dumps physical memory can make a computer to test.

And somehow my question of Windows Vista to put in Windows 7... ?

    CriticalComp,
Here are a few things I would say.

Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic to ensure that there is not a problem with the RAM.

And then perform a clean boot and test.  This can help determine if there is a conflict with a 3rd party software.

You can also run System File Checker to search all of the corrupted system files.

BTW - the update of Windows (and a few other forums) are combined forums, so all versions of Windows go on the forum itself.  Sorry for the confusion.

  • Too much physical memory used.

Hi, am windows XP 32 - bit professional edition on machine A Dell G280 with Intel Pentium IV 2.80 Ghz, with 512 MB of Ram, out of which 10 MB, I think that is used for graphics VGA or maybe. Thing is my system uses too much physical memory even when no ongoing work on this subject... ND who, at the time, is going painfully slow. Is it possible that I can release the physical memory usage? I would like to do a update Avast Anti virus installed.

with 512 MB of memory, you need to keep the programs that are not needed

at the time where the value manual or value on only when you manually start them.

do a disk cleanup regularly and Defrag the C; often drive.

    minimize Add-ons.

maintain the programs that start when XP does a minimum or none, but keep the anti virus

    program to start with XP.

If you have media players this auto-update automatically the value updated

    When manually update you them.

Look in the Task Manager, how much process is running and set the columns (view).

to show all related to memory. Find what is using a lot.

Avast can use too or not.

10 MB of graphics is not quite likely you have 32 or more.

keep about 15% space free hard drive at all times or things can get real slow or not

    not work at all.

the avast firewall maybe slowing down things or not.

run chkdsk /f he can fix something.

other people can respond with number and best thing to do.

That's just my opinion and some things that I do.

I have a PC that would not start so I tried last good start, no luck. Tried safe mode, still no start. So I went to the CD to do a repair, now it happens about 34 minutes (installation of driver/devices) left and it crashes, dump of physical memory (BAD_POOL) the CALLER).

I tried different CDs, computer and the memory test. I can see the HD as a second HD on my other computer and it scans clean. When I tried to see if it would end the repair connected on the other computer as the main HD, I get the same thing.

Any suggestions? Wondering if I need to get a new HD or is there another problem? Thanks in advance!

It is most often caused by having unnecessary USB devices
    devices connected during installation.

When a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) the system failure occurs, for most users, there not enough time to fully record what he says. the exact text is important for anyone trying to diagnose what is wrong. You can save time when the error occurs then by following the procedure described below.

If you already did it disable the auto reboot system error. This should help by allowing the time to write the code to Stop error and related information correctly. Select Start, do a right-click on computer select Properties, advanced, system settings startup and recovery, system failure and uncheck the box before automatically restarting. Re-do not enable automatic restart in the event of system failure after obtaining this information, this setting is the best left to not allow an automatic restart.

If the failure occurs during the initialization of the computer, you need to try a different approach. You can access the Advanced Options Menu of Windows on multiple computers by constantly pressing the F8 (key) key when starting and selecting the option - disable automatic restart in case of system error. This method is not always easy to use because it may be difficult to press the F8 key at the right time. Try again if it doesn't work the first time. On some computers, a different key must be used.

Send a copy of your dumpfile as a shared file on your disc of sky with a link here.

Windows is working hard to find a use for all the memory that you have all the
