  We have implemented a Server Cache El Capitan... And the strange thing is that it works with macs and iPhones but not with iPads! Has anyone of you ever heard of something similar?

  There are many variables that affect how to find caching servers Apple devices.  Signed iPads on the same account iCloud like Macs and iPhones, or more precisely, are the accounts that iPads are signed in registered in the same country as the public IP address of the server being cached?  If your organization uses multiple public IP addresses, are the server cache and your DNS server set up correctly in what concerns these addresses?  Did you restart the iPads after implementation of the caching server, so that they immediately "forget" that they have found no update server caching and are forced to review?  (Restart devices - not the server!-is also recommended if you change the public address record in DNS.)  IPads use a different local subnet as other devices, maybe a caching server is not configured to serve?

• Caching server and IPv6 support

  Anyone know if it is possible to configure the server for caching to work if you are using a dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 network.

  When running dua-stack all client devices will prefer IPv6 when it is possible so set cache server service from Apple is to see every customer who logs as coming from a separate network rather than a single network. It doesn't seem to be a way to configure the server caching on OS X Server 5 for an IPv6 subnet, it accepts IPv4 addresses.

  Before that I have to submit this as a bug can someone prove me wrong with a workaround to get a double network stack to work with caching server.

  I got this job, it was just a matter of editing the configuration file server caching by hand to add the IPv6 range.

  The configuration file is located in /Library/Server/Caching/Config/Config.plist

  Make sure that the caching server does not work as you change the configuration file.

  Open the file in the Terminal for editing and search for the following text:

  Now start the update server cache and restart the DNS server if it is running.

• Caching server - you can remove individual files?

  Hello, I'm running a server from caching on a Mac Mini 10.11.6.

  Today, the iTunes 12.5.1 update came out, but none of my systems are able to install the update of the caching server. Download package, so they fail. I think that the download must be corrupted. I turned off the server and then update of iTunes on one of the clients, and it worked. So I think that the copy on the server is bad.

  Is it possible to find and remove the correct file in the packages cached so that it will download a new copy? Or do I have to reset the entire cache?

  Try these two suggestions:

  -Run under sudo:

  /Applications/server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serveradmin caching settings: LogClientIdentity = true

  /Applications/server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serveradmin stop caching

  /Applications/server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serveradmin start caching

  - then check service log hiding in.app for clues

  -Check: Configure OS X Server Advanced Cache Settings and set LogLevel, restart the cache service and check the alternative log file for clues.  Remember that performance will decrease with this context.

  If your PC can access the internet using your DC as DNS server (which is the usual case in an Active Directory environment) then you will should not do something else. But a man of what DNS it is, is not the same as another. Anther thing that you should be aware, that's if your environment uses a proxy. In which case you may need to this twist a bit then as caching and access is not limited somehow.

• Caching server does not not (El Capitan)

  I recently implemented a mac Server (new mac mini OS X app 5.0.15 Server 10.11.3,).

  In order not to interrupt the old server (active), it was the first facility with an address in the range 192.168.1.x and DHCP server caching has been enabled and I could see the content was stored on the server.

  Later (about a month), it has been changed to be the Active Server and the IP has been changed to static in the scope of the 10.0.10.x.

  After that, change the caching server has failed.

  I tried:

  • Restarting the server.
  • Turning and the update server caching.
  • Change the location where to save the content.
  • Reset content. (So all the old content has been deleted).
  • Increase in the size of how much it can hold.
  • Made sure the permission is set to all networks

  It works flawless on the other servers I'm running (other locations) but not on this one. And the State is green and says everything is fine.

  Any suggestions on what to do?

  Have you changed your whole network this network block? If this is not the case, the caching Service does not work.

• Add Server 2012 R2 Server Manager servers dialog box problem

  I have a problem in 2012 R2 Server when you add a remote server to all server management interface.   Using the dialog box add servers to add a workgroup server (no configured DNS server), I added the problem of server using the IP address.  A dialog box appears that says "can't resolve host would you like to add it anyway?  For awhile do this, I clicked 'No', but finally clicked on Yes and the server by its server name has been added.

  However, I can not access this server remotely, make sure that it is in the list of approved first hosts.  I have the correct IP addresses and have firewall advances for troubleshooting I can connect on the server locally with an administrator account.

  Removing the server from the remote management console, and then add that it does not solve the problem as server name solves always in the dialog add a server with the credentials apparently wrong.  It is the only server of four that I made this mistake, the other three work great after choosing 'Yes' to add the server non - solve anyway.

  My question is, how do I clear the credentials of server 'broken' out of the 'Add Server' dialog box to the server properly.  The added server is another Server R2 2012.  I changed server names and addresses IP, but the dialog box always detects the server with the new information and still not will not properly add it to Manager remotely.

  And the idea of how to do to erase the old credentials?

  So I figure I will need 3 Standard Windows 2012 per physical server so 6 total licenses

  Windows 2012 Standard license gives you the ability to have 2 vm.  When I go down one of the licenses for 2008 server, im assuming im may 2 2008 Vm for a license, is - that correct?

  Or he return to the old 2008 license where you where only allowed 1 2008 vm by standard license?

• 11.1.1.7 cache server tile with georaster layer problem

  Hi Forum,
  I tried to run out of the box of the mapviewer 11.1.1.7.0 version (the one that is preconfigured on the glassfish server). Everything was ok except the tile cache server that could not show the 'Demo_Map' and the 'World_map '. I found that the problem was due to the world_raster theme (GeoRaster) which was included in their corresponding base maps. by removing the theme world_raster fixed the problem. Although mentioned not foregoing the problem exist in the application of mapbuilder (only the oracle mapviewer application server).
  OS: Windows 7 SP1 - 64-bit
  DB: Oracle version 11.2.0.1.0 32-bit
  Browser: Chrome, Firefox, IE

  You can try this:

  in your db installation, find the ojdbc6.jar and copy it in the SDK QuickStart MapViewer glassfish3/glassfish/domains/Domain1/lib/directory, overwriting the existing ojdbc6.jar it.

  I worked on this configuration:
  
  1. a cache server, which is the instance of DefaultCacheServer consistency, with a certain configuration of twists and turns.
  2. a charger, which reads a csv (or other source of data later) file and generate a list of items pofobject implemented and put them in a card and then put the card in the cache;
  3. an auditor of reading, which is reading the NamedCache created previously and do some game: check the content, add filters, etc..
  
  Now it works fine, but I noticed a few things:
  
  -the server must have a pof-config file that contains the classes that implement the PortableObject, and as a result, these classes must be in the classpath of the server as well. If these conditions are not met, the charger will fail to load the objects into the cache.
  
  What is a ligitimate observation? I mean, the server needs to know the objects it cached? It seems to me that couple deeply the server and applications that use the server.
  
  In addition, I want to make objects more generic as possible. For example, if a client retrieves the result set from a SQL-based database, we are always trying to save the results cached somehow, even if we don't know about its internal information such as how that many columns or a column of names /types (maybe we can read this info from metadata?). However, we must know the properties of the object (name/type) to properly serialize / deserialize them before loading them in the cache.
  
  So there is a conflict and how would be solve it?

  the result set can be serialized into a single object (no matter whether serialized with POF or not).

  This unique object can then be cached with an appropriate key. Typical approaches to the formation of such a key creates a composite key that contains the SQL query AND all the SQL parameter values in the order in which they are passed to the class PreparedStatement. Of course the key class must properly implement equals, hashcode, and must also be serializable with the same method (Java or POF Serialization) that is used for the cache service.

  Of course sooner or later, you can invalidate this cache entry, so you can specify a lifetime in putting the result in the cache.

  In addition, you can explicitly invalidate the cache on changes in DB entry, create an index on the SQL attribute in the key or a composite index on the SQL attribute and some settings or just an index on one or more parameters together, to allow you to send an input processor filtered by these indexed attributes, and given the knowledge about what has changed in the database.
