  Hi Johannes,

  Although this is not necessary, it is better programming practice.

  You might need to make changes in the future, or to use the code in another, similar project, then its way easier to implement when you used a before state machine. And this isn't a lot of work changing a sequence to a statemachine, except that you have hundreds of frames/States.

  Back to your first question, it depends on your taste where you place the tunnels in the sequence.

  The option "lock the taskbar" has been disabled. Right-click on a vacant space in the taskbar, the start clcok, button and check to see if there is a check mark next to ' lock the taskbar '. For the moment, it should not be a tick it. Now, move your mouse over the taskbar, hold down your left mouse button and 'drag' the taskbar at the bottom of your screen. The taskbar should now appear at the bottom of the screen. Once you did a right click on the taskbar again, as before, in a place vacant between the Start button and the clock and, in the drop-down menu, click on the option "lock the taskbar" to place a check mark by his side. The taskbar is now locked and cannot move.

• Changing the SID to a custodian of data enabled database?

  Hey all,.

  Excuse me if I ask in the totally wrong place, but I don't know where else to turn.

  I have a database configured with Data Guard for primary and secondary replication, and I wonder to change the SID for the primary (and possibly, secondary in the future). Is there a guide I can follow this process? I went to the site of the Oracle documentation and see nothing explicit, and one mentioned blog site I can just change the SID without any problems for the primary or secondary databases as long as Data Guard is already set up but I don't know if it's true (and will not test without breakdown of replication).

  Anyone who must deal with this before? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  Change the SID wouldn't matter unless you change the DB_NAME. Change DB_NAME should hit your dataguard configuration as it should be the same in the primary and standby databases.

  If you plan to change the SID, then:

  1. the pfile/spfile should be init .ora orname of spfile .ora

  2. the password file are to be considered for the new SID and even need to be copied across to waiting for other database Eve could start yelling at you

  3. If you have a static entry in the listener.ora file, which should be updated.

  4. the TNSNAMES file. ORA file must also be updated with the new SID.
