3 844 duplicate photos

Hello!
Software "Duplicate Detective" tells me that I 3 844 double and photos of personal videos on my hard drive.

Half are buried in a Library/photos / subdirectory and the other half are in a /iPhoto Library/ subdirectory.

Can not know that double-delete... If any.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Migrate your iPhoto library to the new photos for Mac application?

Then you can have image files that look like duplicates, but share the same blocks on your hard disk by using hard links.  The hard linked files in the iPhoto library and photo library are the same but is ot by using twice the storage because they share storage. Deleting one of them won't release any storage as NGOs that the other exists - see this link: Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture - Apple Support libraries

I'm viewing Photos to iCloud and sometimes to find duplicate photos.  They appear sometimes for Moments and sometimes mode Albums and sometimes in both views I think.  What can be done to stop this duplication of behavior?  Also if I want to delete a duplicate in iCloud will remove it without removing the second copy.  The second copy will remain in the two views?

There could be a few reasons for duplicates. It may well be down to the metadata that are attached to the photo, sometimes when the photos app is updated as a result of a software update, sure it can create a copy of a photo with the new dates.

Any photo that is removed from a place is removed everywhere if you use iCloud photo library.

  • Photos will detect when import duplicate photos?

I am about to help a friend import a large collection of photos (some from iPhoto, others in random places) in a library of Photos on his brand new iMac. There are probably a lot of duplicate photos, then we are interested in to find them and delete multiple copies of the same photo.

  • How can I find duplicate photos?

How can I find duplicate photos?

    On Photos for Mac?

Photos will find them for you, when you migrate iPhoto library to Photos, or when you import pictures, or transfer the pictures to iCloud photo library. on these occasions photos is searching for duplicate photos and store the originals in doubles only once. It is so unlikely, that you have an exact replica of the original images in your photo library, you can have versions however duplicate of the same photo, if you he duplicated before edit. Duplicate versions don't require storage space.

If you have duplicate pictures Photos could not recognize them as duplicates, because the original files are different in some way, Photos can not detect them.  In this case, you need a tool to search for them. Photo Sweeper can compare images based on histograms or bitmaps and detect duplicate versions, which have been scaled down in resolution or edited.

  • How can I quickly remove duplicate photos? High volume of photos in my file on my mac.

  • PSE10 remove duplicate Photos

I'm running PSE10 on Win 7 and have ended up with a bit of a mess, I would like to clean.  My catalog has hundreds of duplicate photos.  Here are the pairs of elements that point to the same physical photo via a different path.  All follow the model of C:\Documents and Settings\chris\Mes Documents\... and C:\Users\Chris\Pictures...

I tried to use the search of pictures duplicate function, which does not identify the duplicates, but he also finds tons of false positives, photos that simply look the same but are not actual duplicates.  Sorting through this is not possible.

I might be able to identify the versions of My Documents by removing the shortcut to My Documents in the operating system and see what are the images must be reconnected.  However, my tags are all attached to the C:\Documents and Settings versions.

I'm looking for a good way to identify the actual pictures in the catalog, rather than simply similar duplicate.

The workflow I imagine is: identify duplicate photos | transfer tags in C:\Users version | Remove the version C:\My Documents.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

    Thank you

    Chris

PS I'll note that I'm experienced with databases and sql, by any chance, the catalog is really a sqlite database simple that I can handle.

At this point, it seems that my work has been successful.  The catalog works well, all my pictures seem to be intact, duplicates are gone and there seems to be no other reference to c:\My Documents... in the catalog.

I'm not going to post all my questions here unless someone wants them, because it would be a long and technically complex assignment.

However, I have another question: what is the purpose of the media_stack_sort_table and the version_stack_sort_table?  These two have a media_id column that refers to the media_table elements do not exist.  My operations probably added additional entries pointing to missing items, but without knowing what to do tables, it is difficult to know if this is important.

    Thanks for your help!

PS Integrity_check PRAGMA turned up nothing of interest.

  • PSE10 crashes when looking for duplicate photos

    Hello

I recently upgraded to PSE10 and imported my catalog from another machine (which had been under XP).  Unfortunately, I found myself with a bunch of duplicate entries in the catalog, the one with the c:\users\ path... the other with c:\my documents\...  These paths the two point on the same image on the hard drive.

When I try to find duplicate Photos (from Find > by Visual search), PSE invariably crashes.  I'm under PSE10 under Windows 7 (complete information of the system at the end of this message).

No idea why this could happen and is there another way I can delete the entries in the catalog?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Agreed.

Visual similarity data in the subdirectory 'WaldoData' to your catalog directory.

    1. Rename the directory 'WaldoData' to 'OldWaldoData '.
    2. Launch of the Organizer.
    3. Use the file... Catalog to open the Catalog Manager. \
    4. Select your catalog and click on the button "fix."

  • Photo library, duplicate photos of different resolution

I recently imported my Photos iPhotos library, in order to start weaning myself far from iPhoto and photo.  In my library (and in my Album of iPhotos events) I see pictures in duplicate, with one photo at higher resolution and the other at a lower resolution, with the auto tag 'photo stream.  I do NOT use iCloud as a backup of the photo (cannot afford to pay for it).

It would be nice to remove the photo in low resolution?  I guess it's the version of the photo in the photo stream on my iPhone and iPad, so maybe not.  I find it very confusing.  Thank you for helping me.

What you have said, it isn't really clear from the pictures or what they are. In iPhoto, the photos that were imported from photo stream should have been imported as images in full resolution on your Mac, it's mobile devices that see a smaller version of the resolution. So yes, import on a Mac should translate the keyword the photo stream, but they must be images in full resolution.

These photos appear in your photo album of flow on your Mac Voyez_ you pictures on your mobile devices and if so where.

  • duplicate photos in iPhoto and cannot empty the trash

After update to El Capitan, I found that iPhoto was no longer on the machine. I prefer to use this program, so it downloaded. When I added my photo library, I had lots and lots of pictures duplicate. When you delete them, I found that I could not empty the trash. I tried different options of first aid and ended with even more duplicate images. The Trash now has more 20,000 points, and I can't empty it.

Looking at my pictures folder, I find an iPhoto with 184 GB library, iPhoto-2 library with 36 GB and a library of Photos with 26 GB.

When I added my photo library, I had lots and lots of pictures duplicate.

Import you this library? Or how did you add it?

  • Duplicate photos are automatically set to the library of iCloud?

I changed system library. After that I named the new library as the library system and reactivated iCloud, Photos began to download all my photos to the photo library (yet) to iCloud.

Do not exceed the storage limit for my iCloud plan, essentially the new library system is a duplicate of the previous, but he is now on a different drive.

By train to group photos in my photo library, newly designated system with those of the iCloud existing photo library, will be automatically solved duplicates? Or I have to manually delete the duplicates in some way?

Photos is to merge the new library system in your library to iCloud.

Once the pictures are downloaded, they are compared to iCloud.

Open the Console.app (in Applications > utilities). The Console will show you, done what iCloud.

You can type 'photomodel' in the search field of Console. Then I see the process that makes the double check:

  • duplicate photo files. How can I remove duplicates except individually?

For some reason, hundreds of photos in several files, the files have been reproduced with one (1) added.  How can I remove the others one by one?  This would take days!

It would surely be preferable if you can save 'all' your photos to
external media (DVD, USB drive, memory card, USB drive)
    before proceeding to drastic changes.

    * Proceed at your own risk *.

If 'all' duplicate file names were added with (1)...
I wonder if you could do a search for (1) and remove the result

  • Deleting duplicate photos

I have lots of pictures duplicate on my cell phone for more than once to download.  How can I find the duplicate on the computer files and delete them?

Well, if you have downloaded them in the same place as the 1st photo, they'll have joined named image.jpg then photo (2) .jpg

If you have downloaded the to a different place, you know the names of them because you have the original, so if you search for this name in the search bar of the start menu, you will see the original and the duplicate, and then you can simply remove the double.

  • DUPLICATE PHOTOS IN THE GALLERY

I have 5 duplicates of each photo in my Gallery of windows, how do I easily get rid of duplicates?

WPG has not built so as to remove a duplicate,

You could click on the blue button on the file and click on include a folder.

Check what places wpg is playback of files from, it could be the same site listed twice?

You can use the section to find and use what ever text search appears after the name of duplicates,

Copy or (2)... whatever the case might be.

WPG includes these images where it might be easier to find and remove them,

Windows Explorer is more easily attribute to select files like this, use 'copy' or '(2)' in the top-right, search box

You can click to select the first file, hold down the SHIFT key and click the last, this will select all files between the clicks.

Recently, I changed the location of some of my files and import the catalog to redeem my change information. I'm now done with duplicates of every image that I had moved. Each image is in a stack of 2; I have an image which is the original and an image that is the edited version that I want. The image original is always image 2 of 2 and was called 'DSCFXXXX. • Duplicate photos imported from the iPhone in pictures

Whenever I connect my iPhone to my mac I wonder if I want to import new pictures but they were imported. Photos used to ask if I wanted to delete the pictures once they have been imported, but this question is not asked more. I'm on the latest os x and IOS and the photos app is Version 1.5 (370.42.0).

    Help please

Pictures is a new program and has a learning curve, as all programs do - photos before importing, you check the delete after import next to the phone in the source list
