  When it comes to a simple installation you can run on the management server without nodemanager but when you do the installation of the company and trying to bi_server1 (managed server) not to mention the nodemanager.sh you will get the following message. Correct me if my interpretation is wrong!

  Your access list should include entries to a spoke-to-spoke traffic in each direction, like this:

  access-list 115 permit ip 192.168.100.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.6.0 0.0.0.255

  access-list 115 permit ip 192.168.8.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.6.0 0.0.0.255

  access-list 115 permit ip 192.168.100.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.8.0 0.0.0.255

  access-list 115 permit ip 192.168.6.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.8.0 0.0.0.255

  You may need to use a separate dynamic-map encryption for each Department, but since the two rays work on the hub site now the foregoing could also work (dynamic maps are a little weird). If the above does not work, I will try to create a separate list for each site talk like this:

  access-list 115 permit ip 192.168.100.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.6.0 0.0.0.255

  access-list 115 permit ip 192.168.8.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.6.0 0.0.0.255

  Then I played with converter and am trying to figure out what options I have do I choose as a virtual final conversion physics?  can someone help me decide which are the best?

  I've take the virtual machine and run it on a different physical machine all together so the old physical machine will be gone, and the virtual conversion will be left.

  I understand that I should probably use sysprep to generate a new SID by choosing Customize the identity of the virtual machine.

  If the physical machine is not existence more must I use customize the identity setting and use sysprep, or should I even bother with that and just create it without the customization?

  No, the Windows SID is "changed" when you install the operating system.  Or when you run NewSID later or similar utility.

  If the updates that are provided are so important, that HP provides them, why wouldn't accept all? Why I be offered the option to install or not to install? I do not understand almost all of them say. So, how to make a guess, one way or another? Should I just install all the updates?   It can be confusing when you see a list of the updates that were often less-than-useful descriptions.  A good rule is to allow all Microsoft updates as these will often focus on issues of security with the operating system.  The updates you mention in your post that are offered by HP, I would consider it.

  1. you have a problem with your PC that is mentioned in the updates are available.  Forinstance, if you scan a document or image, you are able to find the file.  If you can't find the file, it would be a good idea to apply update no. 3, but if you have no problem to find the file, there is really no need.

  2. the second update is a driver for your Modem PCI.  Once again, if this device works Ok (or like me, you do not use) there is really no need to apply the update.  This also applies to the first update, you mention - if you have never had the 'Installation cancelled' error you need to apply the patch.  If it arise in the future, you can always apply the update then.

  Updates BIOS will always have tem "Bios" in the description and code no.. as F14 or F32A also in the description.

  If you are ever in case of doubt, you can always ask your question on this forum and there are a lot of people here who will be able to advise you.

  Currently I'm trying to create an answer file in the Wizard Setup Manager for an x 64 system, however when I try to add items to the answer file, I see only 3 types:
  -amd64
  -wow64
  -x 86

  How do I get x 64 components or who should I choose these 3 and why?

  AMD64 is used for 64-bit Intel and AMD systems.

  This is for historical reasons that developed the original AMD extensions to the x 86 64 bit architecture. Intel subsequently adopted these with minor variations.

Installation of teh apex application requires the http server start/stop. How do we proceed? AND where the binaries of the http server located? I did a search for apache and found under C:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\perl\site\5.8.3\lib\Apache, but not binary here, or under the ORACLE_BASE\bin either.

  Now I see that we can get from Server HTTP installation of BEA. I was trying to prevent APEX to use a level of web server here. For me, the beauty of the APEX is not having to manage the BEA, or any other level. Keep it simple, at least for the development and keep everything on the DB, just use the native HTTP server.
  
  It is therefore a VERY fundamental, but how do I do this? Worries me what I can and can't do with the native HTTP server or BEA later. I just want to get this site up and running so that I can start playing with it.

  Note: If your .ear is only for J2EE 1.4 or more, you can use Internet Application Server or WebLogic Server. If you need JEE 1.5 or 1.6, then you have to WebLogic Server.

  BPEL is an application. This application is a tool. It is one of the many 'application tools' that are deployed using an .ear file. It is not an application server, but only a request to deploy to an application server.

  I have a laptop on vista home-use.  When you look in the control panel - and then to uninstall, should there be several entries for SQL server, or one or none?  Each entry seems to have a different digital denotation, but apparently I should have only one entry maximum.

  The reason that I ask is that I have had problems in the software.  I want to uninstall everything that is not supposed to be there.

  Some lines of programs listed show information... some lines are completed.

  When you click on a line that is complete, I am allowed the usuall to uninstall, options etc.

  When you click on a line that is not complete, I'm not allowed the option uninstall.

  The Compact Edition and the full SQL Server can be installed at the same time without any problems. I saw SQL Server2005 apparently installed by a manufacturer, perhaps to support some software they have grouped in. He could have an Acer.

  I do not know what cause the problem with the uninstall option is not available. Information to fill in these fields are in the registry.

  HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall if you want to watch.

  It could be the result of a broken uninstall or a bad registry cleaner. I'm not aware of anything that would fix this. You can try this http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

  but you may have to reinstall programs later.

  You need two redistributable Visual C++ if you have programs that need it, which is likely. They had several updates that fits into the list programs. I have two for 2005 and six for 2008.

  Don't know on what basis 'someone' advised to do (migration of ADR to OHS)?

  As the Oracle Documentation says otherwise in their comparison of the options of the web listener.
