32-bit patch
Hi all, I have a doubt, I hope someone can help me.I need to install the patches, 8217898, 8360498 in R11i EBS (11.5.10). It is runing on AIX 5.3. Database 10.2.0.4.
These patches in metalink are 32-bit, but my platform is 64-bit, and it is not included as a platform for patch.
Can I install the patch of 32 bits in the 64-bit platform?
Thank you very much if anyone can help me.
Hello
Can I install the patch of 32 bits in the 64-bit platform?
Search for the 64-bit patch first, if you can find download the patch and apply it. If the 64-bit patch does not exist then go with the 32-bit patch.
Thank you
Hussein

Oracle homes 32-bit or 64-bit?
Hi all
I work on Sun Solaris Sparc 64-bit system, EBS R12.1.3.
When I apply the patches to applications, we go with 32-bit tasks. Even when we walked past java, we used 32-bit java.
Now, I have to apply some opatches at Oracle 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 respectively, until I have to download patches-32-bit or 64-bit?
Please suggest!
Thank you
Moor
I work on Sun Solaris Sparc 64-bit system, EBS R12.1.3.
I think your EBS installation is 64-bit.
When I apply the patches to applications, we go with 32-bit tasks. Even when we walked past java, we used 32-bit java.
If 64-bit patches are not available, then you can go safely with 32-bit tasks. JRE/JDK update is an exception, and this explains why he had to go with 32-bit.
Now, I have to apply some opatches at Oracle 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 respectively, until I have to download patches-32-bit or 64-bit?
Download patches for "Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)".
Thank you

Pachting Oracle 11.1 under Windows 2008 32 bit
Hello community, Oracle,.
I installed a publishing standard oracle 11.1.0.7.0 under windows 2008 32 bit. When you create a database, I get an ORA-12560 error. I had this problem before, and the solution was, pachting the first instance, and then install the database with the dbca Wizard. Now my question is what is the best practice to patch the database to keep up-to-date. When you use advanced search in metalink didn't group patches, but 97 fixes some older then 1 year. I'm a bit confused and do not know which patch I have to install.
KrischerYou will find the link in the note mentioned under 32-bit patches.

I'll install p5337014_10203_Linux - x 86 - 64.zip and check if OK.
You can install the 10.2.0.3 Group of hotfixes also. I suggest you go to 10.2.0.4 patches group which is also available in version in64 bits for Linux.

11i Find Notifications error on 64 Bit SPARC from Sun
Hello
We 11i and workflow 2.6.0 and find Notifications link gives error on the Page "" document. " WF_FIND.NID.value'.
This error has been identified in Doc ID: 224602.1 and ask to apply patch 2719596 .
But our server is Sun Sparc Solaris 5.9 (5.9 Generic_122300-07 sun4u sparc SUNW, Sun-Fire) on 64-bit. This patch is only available in 32-bit Sparc from Sun.
How to apply this hotfix on Sun 64 bit?
Please let us know.
Thank you!Hello
It will not damage your existing installation and if the patch is not compatible the adpatch will not proceed with the installation of the patch and the adpatch session is then interrupted. Usually, when the 64-bit version of the patch is not available, you will need to download the 32-bit patch.
Kind regards

Patch installation error 6344567
Hi Experts,
I installed windows Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 on my windows xp OS.
While I was looking for the fix on Bug 5169247 -Dump (e.g. in qkarid) to SELECT for UPDATE after the elimination of the table
The patch that this correction is:
ORACLE 10.2.0.3 PATCH 10 BUG FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS 32-BIT- Patch 6344567
Then download Patch 10 p6344567_10203_WINNT
Stop all oracle services and now when I try to run "optach applicable", he proceeds to some extent then fails at this point
Following actions have failed:
Failure of the copy of ' C:\setups\Oracle\p6344567_10203_WINNT\6344567\files\bin
\oci.dll' at ' C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\bin\oci.dll'...*
The file OCI.dll is in place, what could be the reason for the failure.
Please answer.
Kind regards
NeuronJust to add to what Werner stressed, it did not work for me once someone had played with the rights to the folder. So I had to rename the DLL manually (I couldn't move and cut-paste that file to the other place because of rights), then copied the patch file oci.dll. It worked.

When I started LabVIEW today I received a pop-up dialog box for Update Service OR who told me to install the following hotfixes: LabVIEW 2011 SP1 32-bit Patch and F1 2011 LabVIEW RT engine 5.6.1 F5 Patch. The tool has been run with the progress bar along when I tried to access the Help menu to learn more about what I was doing progress. I guess he had to go out on the internet and doing if I was told I needed administrator privileges to do and everything came out. So I don't think that 2 patches have been installed. First of all, I think, because he was such a company computer I should get administrator privileges to use this tool and install the updates. But to do that I have to access this tool once more when I get administrator privileges and I have no idea how to access this tool once more - where is? The help file have been without help. I went to the download area NOR and tried these patches and or the other could not be found!
Start-> all programs-> National Instruments-> NI Update Service.
Location on disk: C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\Shared\Update Service. (if on change "Program Files (x 86)' 64 - bit)

Fix pwd does not have to unpack the hotfix. I asked 4 times and tried manually and copy/paste. This is for the 64-bit patch. I can download and unzip the x 86 patch successfully, but I don't need that one (just a validation test).
I can't respond to the e-mail and I can't contact support because MSFT wants to charge for support. I want just a password that works for the 64-bit hotfix or a contact person. It's pretty ridiculous that there is no QA around that.

E709a printer is no longer on the network
Have had my printer/fax E709a installed with computers able to use from the network. It is plugged into a wired router / wireless with Verizon FIOS. Operating system on the computer connected to ethernet Wired is Windows 7 (64-bit) and Ubuntu Linux (via VMWare). Other Windows XP computers and, for awhile, I had a very old Dell Ubuntu use via wired ethernet.
Recently, however, we had a power outage extended (about 40 hours) and it seems that, since I can't find the printer on the network. I was able to run via the USB port on the bridge, but it would be nice if we can get it on the network again.
So far, I have tried... (with McAfee firewall off)
Network HP 64 bit patch
The diagnosis of HP's utility
Remove and reinstall the printer drivers
Print a "Configuration Page of HP network" and tying to access the IP address via my web browser (expires)
Open a command prompt window and trying to ping IP address of the printer (not responding)
Restart the printer by turning off and turn back while now #6
I'm out of ideas and I was wondering if maybe the power failure did something?
The power failure (or reboot to be able to introduce a voltage surge) may have blown the power supply. Let's reset - unplug it from the wall and from the printer for 5 minutes and then try again.

ISNAT_CAT:1242: ERROR: Bad Internet type of listening address
"The problem has been resolved after that I changed my name from ZEMEROV_A to ZEMEROV computer.
Hyphens are not allowed for regular internet names. The only Microsoft DNS server
allows hyphens. Obviously TUXEDO checks the internal Web address syntax.
But I don't know why my IP (10.57.70.246) has failed.
In any case, the issue is resolved. Make sure that TUXEDO documentation recommends-
When using the name of the server host you talk server. This is case and sensitive syntax. »
Where as: I changed my host name of psoft_pc to psoftpc and I changed the same on TNSNAMES and everything worked without problems.
I'll mark this issue is resolved.
Thank you.

Question of compatibility/coexistence ORACLE TUXEDO
Our existing PeopleSoft environment
UNIX AIX 6.1PS HRMS tools Application 8.5 9.1
PS Finance tools 8.51 Application 9.1
We are about to upgrade only the HRMS
PS HRMS tools 8.5 Application 9.1to PS
Application tools 8.54 HCM 9.2Question-
1 will be new ORACLE TUXEDO 12cR1 (12.1.1.0) work with PS Finance tools 8.51
2. can you Oracle Tuxedo, Version (10.3.0.0, 64-bit, Patch level 081 - for end of PS) coexist with ORACLE TUXEDO 12cR1 (12.1.1.0,64 bits)?
Hello
For question 12cR1 PeopleSoft and Tuxedo, you will need to check with the PeopleSoft team as I do not know their version dependencies.
When you ask can coexist Tuxedo 10 and 12, the answer is Yes, although I don't know exactly what you mean by coexist. They can be in the same field of MP, or in distinct areas linked through the gateway of the field. If they are in the same domain, then the MASTER machine must be one who executes the later version of Tuxedo.
Kind regards

Huge performance in managed with InitialLOBFetchSize-1 provider problem?
Hello
I'm testing the fully managed ODP.NET and noticed a performance problem serious if I set the property OracleCommand.InitialLOBFetchSize - 1.
Is the result of a small test program that runs just "select * from table where rownum < = 5000 ' on a table with 20 columns where 7 of these columns are CLOB with different values for InitialLOBFetchSize:
Native with 0: 11.277 s
Managed with 0: 10.357 s
Native with 5120: 5.182 s (1.235 s if the OracleCommand.FetchSize is increased to 1 MB)
Managed with 5120: 0.568 s
Native with - 1: 0.156 s
Managed with-1: 122.416 s
(Note: with "natives", I mean the only partly managed ODP.NET.)
These results are completely reproducible with only minor differences. The OracleCommand.FetchSize property seems only to have a significant effect on the native provider and again only for positive values of InitialLOBFetchSize.
It's very nice that the managed provider is faster with an initial size of extraction 5KO LOB, but what is the problem with-1? Can someone explain this? Maybe a bug?
With the help of a performance profiler I see that all this time is used in OracleDataReader.Read () waiting for a network operation to complete (no CPU usage): screenshot
Server: Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production
Native client: 11.2.0.3 32-bit Patch 22
Managed client: 4.121.1.0 nuget (I know that this is not an official source, but I don't want to download the full client just for Assembly of 6 MB)
Application console .NET 4.0 x 86
Yes, the solution is in ODAC 12 c R2. Field "Corrected Version" of bugs contains the next major version or the Group of hotfixes in that the fix will appear.
It's possible corrections appear earlier, as in the next ODAC, Oracle patch or one-time fix. Usually, this is followed in the field of related bugs. In bug 17263955, you'll see a related bug 17709236 indicated. Bug 17709236 indicates a backport has been done for the ODAC next release.
