4.2 LR convert or embed color profiles?

Costco printing services use dry Creek Photo profiles.  They ask that the files be converted to color profiles in PS and say that the embedded profiles are ignored by their digital printers. I wonder if I can do this in LR4.2 without PS CS6.

4.2 Lightroom, we can choose color profiles in the print module or in the export dialog box.   Do you know if by specifying a color profile in these will result in a transformation or incorporation of these files?

Thank you

A number of years, I have presented a few test images to Costco as a test.

Before images to Costco I have converted to the supplied printer generated by dry Creek Photo profile.  The prints were fine.  It is my understanding that at Costco they have just "send numbers" in the file to the printer and let the print heads to go to work.

How someone exporting as sRGB (for the web) to a master file that is in a different in the colorspace, this as Adobe RGB?

Use save for Web, where you check "Convert to sRGB" and "embed color profile".

  • Is it possible to embed a color profile when using the assets to generate?

I'm looking for a command to integrate the profile of my production of images with generator anywhere and I'm not having any luck. Anyone know if this is possible? So far, my only work-around is to assign the script profile, but what to do with thousands of png is taken way too long. I don't think that the format file used by the generator code can currently include a color profile.

  • Color profile question from lightroom to PSE 12.

After changing for Windows 10 I find that the color profile is deleted when opening a file from Lightroom 6 to 12 of PSE.  I also get an error message when you try to load a 12 for 8.5 RAW update.  The error reads U44M1I210.  If anyone can help with the problem.

Ok. What is the setting in Lightroom under preferences > external editing > color space? Here you have the choice between sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto. The default is ProPhoto, and unless you have changed, it is how it opens in the external editor (in your case, PES).

If you view while in an another viewer of photos without color management, color will be away (dark and desaturated).

Now, there may be color settings of the specific items that can strip or convert this profile, so I would still recommend that go. All I can do here is to take the floor for Lightroom and Photoshop.

  • How Lightroom handles images with a color profile in fact?

    Since the relevant help page:

Lightroom simplifies color management by displaying colors using the device independent color spaces. This means that all you need to do before working in Lightroom is to calibrate your monitor. Then, when you're in Lightroom, choose color or color profiles settings when you are ready to output your photos. (In Lightroom color management )

So. What actually happens? If a picture has, say, a Nikon sRGB profile not LightRoom it converted Adobe RGB (for the library module) and ProPhoto RGB for module progress? This seems to be the implication of the documentation, but it says nothing about a conversion.

Basically, my question is - it recognizes the supplied profile?

While SHIPS go as you seem to say that indeed there is no color profile. Lightroom is just reads the raw data and assigns the ProPhotoRGB profile? There is no conversion. Values in only digital pixels?

Right, there is no color profile. But something must be used to interpret the NAVE while converting from a raw file (just a bunch of values of levels of grey) typical, to become a recognizable RGB image. Read the digital pixel values is not enough without some sort of reference, and an ICC profile does not work on a raw file, so what happens is:

Lightroom processes the raw numbers thanks to Adobe by default camera profile for your Nikon camera model. A profile of the camera is not the same as an ICC profile. This camera profile determines the initial appearance and the colors of an image raw before other development parameters are changed, so if you don't like the default look, you can choose a different camera (if available) profile or create your own. You can change the profile of the camera in the tab Calibration of the camera at the bottom of the right side of the develop module. Adobe camera profiles produce a look that is close, but not exactly what you would get showing the NEF in Nikon software or the raw file JPEG preview.

After this initial conversion based on the camera profile, Lightroom will apply other settings default development module. In Lightroom, the result of this exists in the built-in color space Lightroom (ProPhoto RGB with curve of tone as sRGB) and then, finally, you see the end result through your (if all goes well to date) display the ICC profile.

Thus, how your look of naves in Lightroom before editing it is affected by camera Adobe profile + default develop settings.

  • What color profile is used when uploading to Flickr?

I use the Flickr Lightroom (Version 6.6.1.1083169) come with Lightroom plugin to transfer your photos to Flickr. All my photos are taken in RAW on a Nikon D750 format, converted to DNG on import. I never had any problem with my photos on Flickr, but I was wondering what color profile Lightroom applies to the pictures uploaded on Flickr? Is it possible to upload photos with a different color profile, say Adobe RGB on Flickr? If yes where can I specify it? (If I upload photos with profile Adobe RGB on Flickr, I understand that displays that can not handle the profile might make wrong.)

  • Make photoshop have the Bitmap color profile

    Hi all

    Bitmap has a color profile.

    Kind regards

    Vinoth

For the conversion of all the we have the color profile, but there is no option for Bitmap?

The way I understand it, there is nothing of profile in a bitmap image.

It contains only black pixels (RGB 0-0-0) and white pixels (RGB 255-255-255).

In order to have a profile is meaningless, and the image becomes scored when converting to bitmap image.

  • Color profile does not match the RGB workspace

This mismatch between Lightroom and Photoshop is intentional, or y at - it an option or another that I have not set correctly?

You must set the color management policies to keep profiles incorporated under Edit > color settings.

Images from LR in the ProPhoto color space and must be kept that way.

What you do now is throw information, when the large ProPhoto space is converted at least Adobe RGB or sRGB even smaller.

  • Color profile

I just reinstalled Windows 8.1 and PS CC, and when I open a jpg of my Nikon D600, told me that the jpg contains a built-in color profile that is different from the actual color work room, so I have to choose between the following 3 options:

1 use the profile integrated (instead of the working room)

2 convert the color of the jpg to the work room

3 unsort the embedded profile (no color management)

    It's Chinese to me.
    Can someone explain?

    Thank you very much

Yes. 1 is better each and every time.

Assume that the Photoshop color settings are "Adobe RGB" (Edit > color settings).

It is the default space (work) of Photoshop which will get all new documents you create.

If a file that you open already has a profile, always respect this profile, either sRGB, Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB.

    This link explains it:

Otherwise, how can I change a picture n & B with RGB color profile in plain B & W? Or is the lowest, I get 3 MB?

OR how to do just that the smaller file? Change resolution from 300 to 72 but is remained to 3 MB.

Nothing else then use the parameter use saving png files. To use the compression... Save for Web would automatically use the compression and the meta-data and change the DPI setting and let the number of pixels the same and also have an option to convert to sRGB which can be used.

  • Color profiles are not systematically

I tried searching for it but could not find the same problem I have, so I apologize in advance if this has already been covered.

    Here is my story:

I am the Director of Production and imaging internal teams. We receive art of illustrators, he prep. According to needs and deliver for production/printing.

All computers in the Department uses the same color profile specific settings (I know because I create, maintain and install them), we are all on the same version of PS (CS 5, version 12.1), the imaging team calibrate their monitors every week, and yet we have a machine in the group that will not play nice with art nouveau.

There are 4 Mac in the imaging room. Slots 1, 2 and 3 all show them the illustrations exactly in the same way, machine 4 displays art as if it were saturated and contrast pushed up, as a result, we lose subtle details in the art.

We can even integrate our color profiles using machine 4 since it will convert the art to what we see on the screen. If anyone on the other machines opens the import of raw and incorporates profiles art look the way we expect, but open a copy of machine 4 and there is a radical difference.

So far, we have deleted all the color settings, profiles and presets and reinstalled them. No effect.

Thinking that we missed something, we deleted all of the Creative Suite (and every bit devices and parts) and then reinstalled. No effect.

The next step is to throw it in the trunk, climb into the hills, shoot, light the fire and buried in a shallow grave.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Any reasonable (or unreasonable) recommendation won't not tested.

It's called PIBCAK (problem is between Chair and keyboard)

It turns out, artwork opening was stripping on the color profile embedded (what the artist used).

I appreciate all the comments, but it's just a day facepalm.

  • Soft proofing and color profile

    Dear all,

problems shall comply with archival ink jet print places I tried. I am now looking at "soft proofing" which I think is not without her pearls. The problems I've experienced before where the images were no converted the profile is that sometimes they would print at great expense properly and sometimes they would not, again at great cost. If the image is converted to the correct profile, in this case Hahnemule, will the embedded profile that the image will print consistently and 2 different days?

Images must be in Adobe RGB (1998) or sRGB, in both cases with

embedded profiles, but only one type for each poster.

The printer must apply 'Use integrated source profile' mode and a

Destination profile which is valid for the paper and the printing process itself.

    Hahnemühle says almost nothing.

A few parameters: weight in g/m², resolution in dpi, dithering mode

(pixelation), CMYK or CMYK + LightC, + LightM, or other combinations with

several grays, or to Orange and green. Given the fact that inkjet

In addition, often use a profile of linearization, there is a good chance of

    Errors of the operator.

This should be fixed in advance. Then the appropriate profile can be used

    for ever.

IMHO, a wedge of FOGRA control is used for the printing of the evidence,

which means "simulate the appearance of offset printing with inkjet.

At least I use the corner of control in this situation. It requires a

    spectrophotometer, incidentally.

In all cases of doubt I would print a typical image with well known appearance

    in the same process.
