I also want to mention that I keep the laptop loaded for most, not on battery. I play a lot of games and most of them do not see the GeForce GPU in settings/settings.. .they see Intel one.   I just buyed a desktop Pavilion p6216it and im intend to change video card PC. One that comes with the computer is an ATI HD4350 with 512 MB dedicated. I would replace this card with an Nvidia gtx260 896 MB (who need extra power).

  The power supply (PSU) that comes with the PC is a power of 300W and isn't any 6-pin Molex or PCI - X, but only 2 SATA power-free location.

  Now, I think I have 2 choices:

  (1) keep my power supply 300W for the gtx260 and buy an adapter to convert sata pci - x power (but perhaps 300W is not enough)

  (2) buy a new power supply (450W would be nice I think)

  What should I do?

  If you need extra power never so it wouldn't really be 'better' unless you can get one of the same quality for about the same price (or less) than the supply of 450W.
