  We have an old executable that was written in LabVIEW 7.1 and uses the serial port communication.  We are licensed with LabVIEW 2010, however our company policy requies a lot of paperwork so he should recompile.

  I have a slow internet connection so I opted for the free trial DVD (single drive) instead of the electronic version downloadable. I wanted to know if I use the 'electronic' or updates of the DVD of "detail" for programs like Premiere Pro and After Effects CS5? I do not use the "update" of programs because it comes more than 1 GB. However, I have a faster connection to work but that you can't put in my office. I would like to download the updates using my laptop.

  You should definitely use this method. The only reason to use the manual download is if you need to download using a computer (which is connected to the Internet) to transfer to your computer that is not connected to the Internet.

  It is absolutely crucial that you use the correct update for the version of the software you have installed. If you installed from a DVD, you must use the update for the DVD sales retail version. If you installed from the electronic download, you must use the update for electronic download (which confusingly has the word "trial" in its name).

  Do not use the correct update will stop at your application.
