  After VMware Tools uninstall and reinstallation on the vCenter VM, I get the following error:

  503 service unavailable (unable to connect to the endpoint: [class Vmacore::Http:NamedPipeServiceSpec:0000000001796860] = _serverNamespace / _isRedirect = false _pipeName = \\.\pipe\vmware-vpxd-webserver-pipe)

  I see other people having this problem with the ASB, but I do not use the device.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I could solve the problem by resetting the Pb Service of inventory.

• vCenter 4 management of Web services: 503 Service unavailable

  I did a clean install of vCenter 4 on a Windows 2003 VM, everything works well except the web administration. I want to display frontpage where you can download vSphere Client etc. but when I go to "Log in to Web Access" (http://my_vcenter_url/ui), I get the error: 503 Service unavailable.

  After some research it appears as ' VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservices ' ('... \VMware\Infrastructure\tomcat\bin\Tomcat6.exe ' //RS//vctomcat) service does not start (which is weird cause displays the first page). Dig deeper into the tomcat logs, I have to:

  I tried to experiment with some settings of java with "Configure Tomcat" tool with no luck. ".

  I would appreciate ideas

  I checked the database and found that some passwords have expired, so I reset the passwords and unlocked the accounts:

  APEX_LISTENER

  SYSMAN

  DBSNMP

  APEX_PUBLIC_USER

  APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER

  I rebuilt the apex.war file to set the password and deployed through Glassfish.

  A new attempt of connection, I get the same error.

  I noticed that the user APEX_LISTENER custody account prepares return to LOCKED (TIMED) seen in OEM.

  I'm grabbing at straws now and would appreciate any guidance to solve this problem.

  I can provide more information if necessary (Glassfish log information).

  LoL... been there. doing just that. (but not with APEX)

  The listener connects to the database with a configured name and the password (I'm guessing that yours is APEX_LISTENER)

  If the connection fails, the listener will try again with the same password (... but you have changed the password)

  Most DBs are configured so that: after N attempts, the account is blocked

  (Looks like that you reset the password before re - configure the listener)

  Fresh DB installs have the default profile to expire after n days.  (You will need to correct this or revisit this days n problem now.)

  TO FIX

  1. stop the listener
  2. account reset
  3. Configure the listener
  4. Retest the account using a tool (such as SQL * Plus or SQL Developer)
  5. start the receiver
  6. wait for 15 min and restest the account

  LONG TERM FIX

  Database accounts have a "default profile" which defines things as "passwords Expire after n days" and "lock the account after n failures."

  Discuss with your DBA on how to handle what it will because it is a thing of DB, not a thing of the APEX.

  idea 1: (insecurity) change the default profile to set the password for the 'end' to 'never '.

  idea 2: create a 'APEX profile' with the whole 'expire the password' to 'never '.

  other ideas

  You may need to examine patterns of analysis.

  You exit lsnrctl shows that DB SNMP is disabled.

  Turn it on and then try to start the database control.

  Try restarting it 2 or 3 times.

  APEX connects to the database using APEX_PUBLIC_USER, which would be the user to modify.

  Otherwise, run again the configuration of your headset with the name of user and password correct e.g. java-jar apex.war of installation

  Just had this problem, yes the service was not ongoing enforcement - but still got exactly the same message even after confirmation it was running. (even the full client of VI gave the same message on trying to connect)

  It was caused by the fact that my network card on my machine had a default gateway configured - even if the host I have access to was on the same subnet as my PC. I've seen this before on other devices, which is what made me try.

  This isn't the problem associated with the services, you can see the /var/log/vmware/hostd.log log file

  or you can also check your services to help

  status of /etc/init.d/VMware

  I installed the latest version of Vmware server on our new Windows 2008 R2 Server core installation, but I have a problem with it. When I create a virtual computer and try to start the Web UI:

  General system error occurred: unable to connect to the virtual machine

  Do you know something about the nature of this message? The Server service not had access to the possuble vitrual machine? But how can it create if it doesn't have access? I have not found the log files created in the folder of the virtual machine.

  First, you decide what you want to use the VMWARE server.

  If you want to use vmware server for only to keep the plane comments at end of test system administartion, during the installation of VMware server you will need to customize your installation.

  In the Customize installation disable the Modules Perl script which are used for development purposes, after installing the server, go to services & disable services unwanted, assume that you use no DHCP & NAT, then disable these services. In doing so, it will save the memory & performance increase of you host mechine.

  When you create your mechine comments try to reduce unwanted devices, how to remove the floppy drive if you don't want to use in the mechine comments. like this, try to reduce the additional devices you use rarely, if you're runnin server edition comments mechines, then try to reduce you is display resolution, which will give a good performance.

  I will build a network of recovery of Windows domain I want to place the Windows Server version 2.0 of VMWare Server freeware. We already have and VI3.5 cluster, but I don't really want to create a new one in our network of recovery offline just welcomed a couple of servers. I want to create two servers on that host virtual machines.

  My question is, can I create a server image to import into this version using the VMWare converter to option ""Stand-alone virtual VMWare machine? '" It seems that it is possible, since VMWare Server 1.x is a listed option. I'm looking for a validation test before going forward with this plan.

  A good starting point is the chapter networking in the user guide - http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmserver2.pdf

  By default, vmnet0 is filled and vmnet8 is NAT, although it does not matter really as long as you choose the eCard directly in your virtual machine.

  Looks like you need to disable the automatic bypass in vmnetcfg.exe and then activate the bypass on the host of the NETWORK card that you really want the virtual machines to use. This may be vmnet0 or you can choose one of the unused vmnet adapters *-just make sure that you select the right one when you configure the VM vmnetcfg.exe. Make sure runs in as long as administrator and you also need to restart the VMware services before the VI client or web interface, will pick up the changes.

  Not sure the upgrade option - possibly be willing to upgrade the version of the virtual hardware, you need only to do if you want to enjoy things like USB 2.0 support. I leave mine to version 4 so that the VI/vSphere client can change the settings for the virtual machine. It could also refer to upgrading VMware tools although I doubt it's necessary.
