6.1.6 spinning wheel on Mac 10.7.5 Safari

Again, my computer knows the dreaded spinning wheel Safari! I have had this a year or two ago and so switched to Google Chrome and Firefox but apple told me that Safari has been so much more secure so I went back to Safari without problems for at least 3 months, so far! This is the material I have:

MacBook Pro; 10.7.5 OSX; 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo;  4 GB

Version of Safari 6.1.6

Can someone help me solve this problem?

I am unlikely to upgrade the operating system apple better advised engineering leave as it.

Why the genius he said you do not upgrade?

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - activate the menu to develop it, then go ahead and empty Caches. Quit/relaunch Safari and test. Then try Safari/history/Show History and remove all items from the history.  Quit/relaunch Safari and test. You can also try try Safari Safari/Reset. The downside is that it deletes all cookies. It could upset some sites no longer recognizes your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Caches.db, and then move it to the trash.

Go to Safari preferences/Extensions and disable all extensions. Test. If correct, enable the extensions one by one until find you which extension is causing the problem.

  • spinning wheel on the status bar on iphone

I wrote a question for a while to get the spinning wheel next to the symbol wifi in the status bar on my iPhone 6.  I checked the background app refresh to see if it was looking to update my applications in the background and that has been turned off.  I don't know what else could be the impeller constantly appear on my status bar if this feature is disabled.  If anyone has any ideas or suggestions or suggestions as to what it could be because I'm sure that this affect my battery life, so therefore, any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

    Hi Tommy,

I had a look at your previous post about the spinning wheel next to your Wi - Fi symbol on your iPhone. Good job on the research of open applications and other sources that can cause this problem. I've been in situations where something has been empty my independence as well. So, since it seems to be draining your, I'll have you try a few more troubleshooting ranging from easiest to hardest.

I'm almost certain that you tried to reboot your iPhone. If you do not, it is the easiest step and gets overlooked often. If you have tried all the steps I provided here, feel free to ignore them.

For the safety of your data, whenever you reset a device, it is always a good idea to have a new backup of your data

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Your iPhone is certainly connected to your Wi - Fi connection, but it seems necessary to refresh the connection or it tries to maintain the connection. Can help reset your network settings. This will not affect previously connected settings Wi - Fi networks and passwords, Bluetooth accessories recently used, VPN, and APN.

If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connects to a Wi - Fi network

Even if other devices are connected and working as it should, your network may need a reboot as well. Step 5 in the previous article covers this. Either disable Wi - Fi on your phone (settings > Wifi) or turn your phone off altogether. This is not mentioned in the article, but I recommend to unplug the modem and the router, leave them turned off for 5 minutes, restart the modem and wait to switch completely to the top, then the router. If you have an all-in-one, then for 5 minutes. Once your network is back, connect the phone only and see if you still have the spinning wheel.

If the previous steps have not helped, the last step is to restore your iPhone to factory settings. If you saved it before you begin troubleshooting, you're fine. If you do not, the next step will delete your entire iPhone. Without a backup, there will be data loss.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

Before restoring your back upwards, see if you still get the spinning wheel next to your Wi - Fi symbol. If it still turns, you should have your rated iPhone. You can use the following link to locate an Apple retail store or Apple authorized service provider.

    Find locations

If there isn't one near you, you can contact Apple Support for the rest of your service options.

    Get help

If the wheel is not present after restoring to factory settings, you can restore your back upward at that time here.

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup

If the impeller is returned, the question is in your back. You can restore your iPhone to factory settings again and sync your iPhone with iTunes and download apps and also look for the spinning wheel back. If/when it does, you have reduced the question.

    Hope you enjoy your day!

  • When App Store starting spinning wheel

I often get a spinning wheel when starting the App Store on my iMac. It's still, sometimes accidents application after some time. On the internet I found some solutions (killing the app, removing plist files, doing a NVRAM reset,...). It helps, but the second time I start the App Store to the spinning wheel is back. It's annoying because I want to install the updates and I don't want to delete the plist files and make a NVRAM reset each time. Maybe someone knows a more permanent solution?

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

Then launch the App Store then try your updates.

    On Safe Mode

  • iMac froze on Start up on the Apple logo and the spinning wheel.

    Hello

Can someone please help. My iMac started freezing when I clicked on any application or attempted to open anything. I turned it off the power and then turn it back on. Now I just get the apple logo with the spinning wheel down on white background. I tried to close again and reboot hold command + s, Ctrl + r, Ctrl + p + r, but nothing can get past the logo and the spinning wheel. I'm running snow leopard top and it worked fine until a couple of days. I can't on the utility disk or anythong at all. I'm not the most intelligent in the computers and it has me really stumped. Any kind soul can help with some info?

    KND regards,

    nicheda

Before doing all this, what is your status of backup? You have Time Machine or a clone of your hard drive? If this isn't the case, it may be best to do nothing until you are able to see if you can find a way to save your data if things go from bad to worse.

That said, assuming you are running OSX 10.5.8 (like on your profile) or Snow Leopard (according to the guidelines of this forum), have you tried starting restoring 1 gray disc that came with the Mac or the Snow Leopard installation disc? Insert the startup disk by holding down the c"" key. You may need to push the disc for the CD/DVD drive so that it can swallow the disk when you start if you can't get the Mac to accept the drive in its current state.

If all goes well it will boot from the gray disk, although slowly. Once started go to the Menu utilities > disk utility. Launch disk utility, select Macintosh HD and click on "repair disk". If changes are made click on repair disk again and repeat until you get a clean pass. Once that is done, try to restart normally in the Apple menu.

  • Spinning wheel of death, all applications!

Since yesterday my desktop Mac is very slow and showing the spinning wheel in absolutely all applications I use.

I run OnyX, did a scan complete McAfee, rebooted and came back a month using time machine and yet nothing made a difference.

I have limited capabilities with computers but you can follow instructions well.  I hope someone here can point me in the right sense to be able to deal with the issue.

Everything you need to know, please ask away and I'll try my best to provide you with information.

    Try restarting your Mac.

    Try to start:

    -Stop your Mac

-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button

-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key

-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar

-Once your Mac boot, restart dhcpd as you usually do.

If this does not help, follow the instructions below:

    -Stop your Mac

-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button

-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key

-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar

-Once you see office, start a scan Disk Utility to detect and repair file system errors (remember to choose your primary hard drive)

-Click on the disc to check, then, if requested to solve the problems on the repair disk

-After that click on verify disk permissions, and then click Repair disk permissions

-Once the process is complete, stop your Mac and turn it on again after 30 seconds

Apart from this, take a look at this article from Apple and follow the instructions to reset NVRAM shown here:How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

Try resetting the system management controller: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Run this test and post the results here.

  • icon is not on-spinning wheel

for a few days, the CC icon is grayed out.  I tried to click on it to connect but get the spinning wheel.  I ran a disk on the mac utility, stop computer and still nothing. What can I do? Thank you

Thanks for the post, but I could not connect or in.  Finally, I fixed the problem by downloading the application again.  now I'm afraid that if I get another computer, I won't be able to download the app again.

  • I try to connect to the creative cloud on my MacBook Desktop App and sees only a spinning wheel where the application must be open. On a related note, I'm signing CC because I thought that my Lightroom Develop module is disabled. Clues?
