Hello

I have a new Toshiba laptop with windows 7 and am trying to connect with my Deskjet on a network of wire / wireless.  Using the set up CD, I'm able to get through the whole plant, and in the end, he tells me that the installation failed. Any ideas out there?

Ed

OK, my mistake.  The software CD installation program should not be used with Win7.  We will uninstall the software:

Start > all programs > Hewlett-Packard folder - use the uninstaller here.

Now restart your computer.  Unplug the printer from the router and get ready to plug into your computer with a USB cable as a temporary step listed below.

Make sure that the USB cable is not connected to the product. If the USB cable is connected to the product, unplug it.

In the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon, and then click devices and printers. Opening of the printers and devices window.

Click Add a printer. The Add Printer window opens.

Click Add a local printer.

Click on use an existing port.

Click the use an existing port in the drop-down list, select LPT1: (Printer Port), and then click Next.

Under manufacturer in the installation of the printer driver window, click HP.

Under printers, select the appropriate driver to spare for the product (listed in the table in the previous step), and then click Next.

NOTE: If your HP product is available through Windows Update, click the Windows Update button to select additional printer drivers. You must connect to the Internet before using Windows Update.

In the printer name text box, type the name of the product, and then click Next. The printer driver starts the installation process.

NOTE: The name of the other driver appears in the window as the default name. If you prefer, you can change the name of your product. This step is optional.

Once installation is complete, a message appears on the computer indicating that the product has been successfully added.

In the message window, click done.

Plug the USB cable into the product and connect the USB cable to the computer. (it is temporary).  Window opens then install a device driver software was not successfully.

Click on (close) to close the window.

Now reconnect your printer on your router.

In the printers and devices window, right-click the name of the product and then click on printer properties. The printer properties window opens.

Click the Ports tab.

Click the menu drop down and then replace the LPT1 to TCP/IP.  Enter the IP address of the printer.

Click OK.

Now, try to print from an application (print a test page bypasses the print spooler on your computer is usually a waste of ink).

  • HP 990c driver for HP 6127 on Windows 7 32-bit

Where oh where can I find the HP Deskjet 990c printer driver?  Recently updated to Windows 7 Home Premium.  HP is the spare for my Deskjet 6127 printer driver printer HP 990c driver.  Microsoft says that the HP 990c printer driver is compatible with Windows 7. Fine... however... the printer HP 990c driver is not found on any list of drivers in Windows 7 32-bit Home Premium. Nor there following the methods prescribed by the wizard install printer HP, HP printer utility of diagnosis (the Windows Update utility he perpetually fails), using the devicemgmt utility and all other references to the wiring, assignments of ports/USB printer, etc.  HP Technical Support Agent was also no help.

On some forum, found the reference that the 990c printer driver is not on the list of drivers that come with the version of Windows 7 Professional.  Can't believe Microsoft would be tense or hoarding the pilot exclusively here.  Then, as all other methods have failed, how manually download and install the Windows compatible HP 990c printer driver?  Much obliged for all help.

Follow the instructions in this link to HP Support.  It won't matter whether you have Home Premium or Professional.  The driver is obtained after the use of the "Windows Update" button as described in step 2, point 8.  I tried it and it is available at this stage (it will take a few minutes for the update and then it will appear in the list under "HP" and not under "Hewlett Packard" and you will need to scroll down for Deskjet 990c coming later Deskjet 9800.  The instructions also have additional measures on how to install the replacement driver: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01796821&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4062&product=86858&sw_lang=

These HP steps worked for me. Admin privs are required to install anything from Windows Update.

Step 4 to update the driver for the HP did not work as the printer and the port were both missing in Manage.

Update was not necessary anyway, as after all, wasn't the last 990c MS certified driver downloaded from Windows Update?

Finally, I do not see where plug the printer into the steps from HP and install the driver he did not. Once we connected (at the end of all steps) it appeared in devices not specified as "deskjet" 6127 Troubleshooting (via right click) could not solve this problem, however the printer in the printers print very well even when section.

P.S. We use Dell E6140s 32 - bit Windows 7. We have limited the user install because of the company's computers.

  • LED flashing 6122/6127

We have a 6127 (6122) with the cartridge status, curriculum vitae & power LED flashing * sequence *.  Not all at the same time (which is covered in the HP support doc) but rather in order one after another.  Status, resume, power, status, CV, power, etc...

Power in cycling by unplugging the power cord did not fix it.

The transport of the cartridge is locked on the right.  I can't move it, at least not without force, so, I worry of breaking.

How did I get to this point?

It was working fine. She needed black ink.  I removed this cartridge, but there was one in the supply closet.  A co-worker with the printer even had one, but it was a few hours until what he got for me.  When I went to install it I found that someone had closed the green ink cartridge latch and the lid of the printer and the printer was in the condition.

    Thanks adavance.

    Fixed/solved.  Solution:

After removing the plastic shell I fiddled with the transport dock, see how mechanics work alongside and to seal the print heads.  (Seal - that's why the jets of ink must be powered with their own button and not a power strip).  I theorized that perhaps I should anchor the transport and try it turn on.  Ultimately I had to remove extra to get there, so I tried a compromise.  I made sure that the dock is entirely at the back/rear, for example where I get to during normal printing operations.  I powered it upward and the turn is played. It worked.

  • DeskJet 6127 - how to print on wired and Wireless subnets

How can I configure my network printer to print on subnets?

I have a subnet for wired computers and the other for the wireless. I have the printer installed on the wired subnet with a static IP address. I installed the driver on all wired computers, and they can print.

I can't install the driver on the wireless computers because the HP driver installation can never find the printer. I tried hardware address, IP address and host name of the printer, but the printer is ever found so implemented fails. However, I can ping IP and hostname of the printer on subnets.

I tried to install the printer on a laptop computer that has a wired NETWORK adapter and a wireless card. I installed the printer when you are connected to the same subnet as the printer through wire. Then I disabled the wired NETWORK card and activated (different subnet) wireless card, but printing fails. I also tried to change some parameters of the port, but I could not print wireless.

Is it possible to print to Deskjet 6127 on subnets? If so, how?

I thought about it myself. I have disabled the wireless card, activated the card NETWORK wired and re-installed the printer.

Setup automatically specifies 0.0.0.0 for the default gateway. Although the installation program automatically detects the printer and it works fine when you print the same wired subnet, you must use the advanced manual settings and change the default gateway 0.0.0.0 to the subnet that the printer is turned on.

Now I can print from this computer laptop wireless or wired.

Whenever you switch to a new version of Windows, you must install
drivers for printers, scanners, video cards, etc., that have been
written for this new version of Windows. And also note that you need
different determinants for a 32-bit version of Windows and a 64-bit
    Version.

It is the manufacturer of the hardware to write and
available to download these drivers. Especially if your hardware is
older, it is quite possible that the manufacturer has decided that it is not
a value of his time and effort to develop drivers for the hardware that it is
    selling more.

Check with the manufacturer or on their web site to see if a pilot
There are. If not, you're out of luck.

In the future, before making such an upgrade, make sure you have
done the appropriate research to find out what drivers do not exist,
and so what equipment you need to replace if you upgrade.

  • Deskjet RJ45 HP6122 ethernet connector

Try to connect the cable to my printer. There is a place for it, and what appears to be a RJ45. However, there is a ' blocking? plug"inserted into the socket - silver on the outside with black plastic on the inside. Can / should it be removed, or is it just that ethernet is not available with this printer? If it needs to be removed, how?

The model Deskjet 6127 had port active ethernet and case parts shared with the Deskjet 6122.   The ethernet port is not enabled on the Deskjet 6122.
