64 bit kernel + 3.2 Ubuntu 12.04 + installation package starts do not at all...

Hello

the problem is that I'm trying to install vmware workstation on a computer 64 bits 12.04 of ubuntu with nucleus 3.2. The problem is NOT the patch, because I do not even get there.

I downloaded the installer bundle, changed the consequence of rights to execute from console and tried to start it with - switch or no switch. What happens is that it simply runs without any error message and returns to the command line prompt. Yes, I work in a shell sh, and yes it is executable.

I have no idea how to solve the problem, because it seems that is not yet properly start.

I already posted the MD5 hash of the bundle to see if the file may be damaged, but it is not the case...

You guys may have any hint for me to find the number. Without any suspicion, which is causing the problem, I'm completely lost...

Thank you!

Kind regards

The directory was created with a unique name by the command-d mktemp a few lines before and is deleted by the Manager on_exit (see the last line in the HS - x log you posted).

Here are a few troubleshooting steps (for which there is no need to be root, and it would be safer to run as a normal user):

dd if=/VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.4-744019.x86_64.bundle ibs = 15131 obs = 1024 skip = 1 | WC - c

... should output "341657700" (more a bunch of crud of dd).

dd if=/VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.4-744019.x86_64.bundle ibs = 15131 obs = 1024 skip = 1 | gunzip - c | WC - c

... should output "37212160" (more a warning of gzip on trailing garbage).

dd if=/VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.4-744019.x86_64.bundle ibs = 15131 obs = 1024 skip = 1 | gunzip - c | tar - tf | WC-l

... should output "797" (more a warning about trailing garbage).

And Interestingly, the trash back WARNING looks like this would cause the entire operation to fail if the shell "pipefail" opt is set.  What does this command:

echo $SHELLOPTS

Show (from your root user account)?

See you soon,.

I went from a Win7 32-bit on a 64-bit win7 machine computer. Now, I get "this connection is not approved" on many pages, including support for Mozilla, Yahoo, send a mail to yahoo, etc. The only thing that has changed is my computer. Everything worked on the 32-bit system. I tried DELL-no-help, I tried Norton-no-help - I tried all published recommendations - nothing helped. Can someone give an explanation of how solve this incompatibility (presumed) Win7 64 bit computers? How can I quickly and absolutely get rid of MESSAGES "THIS CONNECTION IS UNTRUSTED"?
Thanks for ANY help from an expert.

Right after that I posted this problem it seemed the solution:
I noticed a pop-up, named "BROWSERSAFEGUARD" who has attempted to set my computer to a "cleaner" for a price. I checked in my installed programs if there was a "Browsersafeguard" and he was there. I uninstalled it, check "incompatible with my system" and my computer turned on like never before. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I'm unable to install updates for iTunes (last successful update was my PC itunes 12.2.2.25 64 bit). The error message I get when you try to run the downloaded exe file from apple is: 'there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. I am not able to backup or synchronize my devices (for example iphone 6 sec) over to my PC as it is said that iTunes must be 12.3 or higher. Thank you - Bryan

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

  • I run 10 64-bit Windows and I have used iTunes for years. iTunes installs OK, I disable Norton Firewall during installation. iTunes starts OK, but when I try to access the store down ¾ of the page turns black

I run 10 64-bit Windows and I have used iTunes for years. iTunes installs OK, I disable Norton Firewall during installation. iTunes starts OK, but when I try to access the store down ¾ of the page turns black, the upper band has Taylor Swift and a few small icons to the bottom of the page. If I type Perry Como, in the search box, the page does not change.

lysdexic01, I know almost exactly what you describe on my screen of iTunes Store recently updated for Windows 7 64-bit. Only difference is that the icons in the black box are invisible until I move the mouse above them, their location by trial and error. Once activated, the icon remains visible. Each found icon flickers at first, but stops flashing if I pass the mouse over it.

I think that the store is now functional and useless for those of us experiencing this problem. Other users have reported that their iTunes store screen flickers since they updated iTunes to the latest version, but most did not mention the area big black screen that you and I see.

So far, Apple seems not to believe that there is a problem with the software to update iTunes. It is therefore important that users continue to report these problems to Apple that there are enough complaints for attention even during a week of office party.

  • Windows Installer service is missing from my Vista 32 bit. How to re-install Windows Installer?

Windows Installer service is missing from my Vista 32 bit SP2. How can I re - install Windows Installer? None of the 27 sets of update and Installer Cleanup solutions worked, a last resort option could work but it will not install without the Windows Installer Service.

I tried each FixIt option, says the problem is solved, but isn't.
I tried install Windows Installer 4.5, but it came back as not relevant to my system (because there is no previous installer to update).
Tried a number of recommended patches, but they are all geared toward fixing the problems of Windows Update not a lack of Windows Installer.
MicrosoftFixit50202.msi seems to have corrected Windows Update on my laptop but it won't install on Vista pc because there is no Windows Installer.
I ran the installation disc the option 'fix' with the original, it finished but has not replaced Installer and nothing was fixed.

How can I put the installer of Windows on my computer?  If there are files on the original drive that can be put into drive C what are they?
Someone suggested to uninstall Service Pack 2, and then reinstall, but if I have no installer of Windows that may not work. Others said they reformatted to correct same question, but it did not work.

These previous solutions have not helped:
Could not locate the installer of Windows on Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
Difficulty the installer of windows vista sp2
    code641/MSI
Failed installation error msg error 80070641 Windows update

After a month of butting heads with the refusal of Microsoft to actually help except to sell us all a new copy of Vista or Win7 at the normal price I solved the problem myself.

    1. I made a list of all my software purchased, including required registration keys, etc. and site URL for those who I don't have a disk for.
    2. Deleted registry back up on my external hard disk, reloading apparently one makes the backed up registry problems breed more.
    3. Inserted my drive from Dell to factory since 2007 and restarted. Press a key to boot from the CD. Chose "reformat hard drive' first, then when prompted hit"Reinstall"(slightly different wording on your computer).
    4. After you have reinstalled the factory disc 32-bit Vista, I spent hours 7 next installation of SP1, SP2 and hundreds of updates. Note that several times Windows Update said some updates to date has failed, but finally everything installed correctly by repeating the sequence of installation/reboot to update. There have been a few files that reported to turn off computer completely, I've shown... clicked with indicator shutdown (stop), let it do its thing until it turned off the computer and then the computer restarted manually later. After a total of 8 hours and 14 minutes as my Vista has been fully loaded, updated the installer is still intact, everything works very well and did not cost a penny.

It has been 2 days since the reformatting/reinstall. I reinstalled all my additional software without problem. System Mechanic is back in service without any prejudice to my installation Service. Seems that something is involved with .NET Framework 4 triggered a defense mechanism that caused the installer should be deleted, solved the problem of the .NET Framework from Microsoft, but it can be installed by the installer being removed to protect our computers. The question was not just with Dell computers, it is Dell support is just as incompetent that Microsoft support batch so more Dell owners were here to complain.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FYI: my mobile Samsung with Win7, the correction was easier because my installation Service has not been removed:

    1. Uninstalled all the software using .net Framework 4 (only 2)
    2. Uninstalled all .net Framework 4 bodies found on my list of programs (Client Profile and Essentials)
    3. A ran my System Mechanic to remove debris aka too much clutter and correct registry problems
    4. Laptop rebooted then ran Windows Update. All the updates installed with 3 requiring the judgment to install. .NET framework reinstalled with updates.
    5. Reinstalled my 2 pieces of software that use .NET Framework.

It has been 4 days without any problem at all. So, in my case, it's .NET Framework 4 that created and continued the problem, even if the specific audit FixIt kept saying all .NET Frameworks have been installed correctly.

  • When you try to install windows 7 64 bit, he asked me to remove the disc and start over, but it does not help. Help, please.

    So I have a 32-bit windows system 7 and I'm trying to upgrade to a windows 7 64-bit system.

I have an installation disc, and my pc should be able to handle 64-bit.

However, when I insert the disc (yes my drive is started first in the BIOS)

    The installation program starts,

    I have chosen the language,

Accept the terms and choose to upgrade.

He then gives a compatibility report:

"the computer has started using the windows installation disc remove the installation disc and restart your computer so that windows starts normally.

When I restart my pc while the disc nothing happens and when I restart my pc with the drive the process repeats.

I'm looking for for a long time on the internet and I can't find all the solutions that work for me.

Please give detailed answers, all help its appreciated.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

After the first reboot, set the BIOS to boot from the hard drive.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS is unable to complete the installation.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS is unable to complete the installation.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 of 2007 which came with Vista and has been updated 2 years later at 7 w. I had to reinstall 7 W... 3 or 4 times since 2010. I guess that my machine can't handle W7 very well.

My current problem started with a BSOD problem. After trying some suggestions Internet on how to solve this BSOD problem that did not work, including repair of Windows, I did a data back up mode without failure and then decide to reinstall Windows 7 from the MS CD. My level of understanding is limited, but as noted, I've done this before with success. What I didn't understand is there seems to be another unsolved problem which does not allow the complete reinstallation of windows.

I did a clean install, then a formatting and in both cases, W7 could not complete the installation. It progresses to the final stage of "complete installation" and then there is a second error message 1 that I can't read... "" a problem has been detected... close... "."  It seems to be a reboot loop.

I have since read that the original BSOD problem and the 'detected problem' could also well be linked to the display driver. And this driver it must be disabled before performing a Windows installation. But I'm not able to access Safe Mode or the control panel to turn it off. If this driver is the problem, is there another way to turn it off?

Or are there any other suggestions on how to complete the installation of the operating system?

    Thank you.

  • Updated the motherboard, processor and RAM and upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, after upgrade the external hard drive encrypted with bitlocker will not enter the password.

Original title: bitllocker Windows 7 issue

    Hello

I recently updated my motherboard, processor and RAM, but I kept my original 500 GB hard drive, and equipped with a hard drive 2 TB extra, after the upgrade, I downloaded windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. After the upgrade I plugged my external hard drive (which has all my stuff important on it, that is to say the photo, video etc.) to realize that I had he encrypted with bitlocker on my old sysem. It allows Me to enter my password, it looks for a USB flash drive key, I did not. My question is:

Can I replace my old system with the old motherboard, hard drive and the original RAM to remove the external hard drive for bitlocker?

I still have the file windows.old on my hard drive, I have to restore it and remove the most recent version of windows 7 off the drive. I do this before I rebuild my old PC? I'm stuck here and would not lose all my photos (the wife would kill me!) I would appreciate your help.

    Hello

Reassembly of the old computer won't help. You will always need the key to open the Bitlocker.

I have Win7 64 bit ultimate and from time to time when I start PC my card reader drives do not appear in my computer. Device Manager indicates that they are working correctly. Sometimes my dvd drives disappear. I have to do a system restore to solve this problem. For some reason any Win7 has problems with storage devices. How to stop these dissappearing from my Computer(or not getting a drive letter assigned) storage devices?  It's very frustrating. And, System Restore is not a way to solve this problem, it's just a quick fix. I have three internal hard disks, three hard drives, card reader external drives, USB keys, disks, etc. I need a way to solve this problem when it happens. So far, happened about 9 times in the last six weeks since I installed Win7 64 bit ATU.

There may be an update of the motherboard BIOS to solve the problem.

Otherwise, as your card readers are no doubt attached via USB the usual way to solve this problem would be to uninstall the drives and the USB controllers and devices in the system restore.
