Hello

This controller driver is not by default with basic picture of VMware ESXi. you need to install VMware ESX/ESXi 4.1 Driver CD for PMC Sierra SAS aacraid driver http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/dt_esx41_pmc_aacraid_11728000/ZCV0YnR0aipiZColcA==

Steps to follow:

-Install VCLI on a Linux server/VM support

-Copy the driver ISO and mount it as a loop device

-Use the vihostupdate command against bundle named adpt-aacraid - 1.1.7 - offline_bundle - 374162.zip

Thank you

Nithin

  • 2903 B Adaptec driver for Vista 64 bit

My scanner Epson Perfecton 1200 s uses an Adaptec 2903 B card, Vista could not load a driver automatically.

Epson says contact Adaptec, and Adaptec says that since it is an OEM card produced for Epson, they provide no support.

They said that the driver for other maps of the 290 x series that use the same chipset 'may' works, but they are only for 32-bit systems.   But they also say that the XP dirvers "can" work.

Unfortunately, mine is Vista 64 bit.

I hate you lose a very good scanner just because I had to upgrade to Vista.  It manages scanning upward

In fact, Gloria, I found a way to support Windows 7.

Someone posted a fix for the same problem under Vista.  Vista has a device (DJSVS) driver that can be changed by adding a line with the hardware for this card ID and it then works fine.

Although DJSVS is not included in Windows 7, a copy of it works fine here too.

A similar tweak was what was needed to get scanner driver works as well.

Certainly NOT for the faint of heart, though.

Do you know of any equivalent to DJSVS in Windows 7, which would allow users with no access to Vista do the same?

  • Cannot find a driver Adaptec AVA 2904 SCSI Controller for Windows 7 x 64

I am looking for a driver for a SCSI Adaptec 2904 AV connected to windows 7 x 64 controller, automatic Windows search can not find someone, adaptec site the driver can not be installed in the system Windows 7 and I have not found anything in the support forum to adapt to a 64-bit system as Vista to try either...

Adaptec would write drivers for their hardware. If Adaptec has drivers for Vista or XP 64 bit for this card, they could work. the 32-bit drivers won't work. If there is no drivers Adaptec who works in your system, you can buy a Win7 compatible controller card. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • create the virtual machine from windows NT 4 server with adaptec raid 5

I have an old Dell (1998) server running windows NT 4.0 sp6a.  He had a raid 5 configuration using the controller raid adaptec SCSI 2940.  2 discs failed who broke the raid set.  I had a disk recovery company to recover the data and they have scratched off readers and gave me a SATA with all volumes.  I found a procedure to create a virtual hard disk (.vhd) and then converted to a hard and used to create a virtual machine in VMware workstation 7.  When I turn on the virtual machine, it begins the process of starting windows, shows the boot menu, select normal or mode VGA, goes through the process of NTdetect, display processor and memory but then gives a BSOD with the message inaccessible_boot_device.

I changed the hard to affect the buslogic ddb.adaptertype, but it gave me the same problem.

is there a different driver that I need for an adaptec raid controller or if the typical SCSI drivers should work?  If the typical SCSI drivers should work, so my problem might be in my Boot.ini because it shows that he is supposed to start on the partition (4) and this sata drive may not have scores exactly as they were on the raid configuration.  I tried to mount the volumes not in read-only mode, but the partition that I need to change the boot.ini file is partition (2) what mapping VMware won't let me open mode not readonly.  whenever I have, select it and it opens the partition (1) mode not readonly.

I know this sounds complicated then I hope I described with precision.

  • Supermicro onboard Intel and Adaptec RAID configuration unrecognized in ESXi 5.5 U2

Hi, I have a supermicro X7DAL-E r1.1b motherboard has integrated Intel and Adaptec sata raid controllers. To enable raid controllers, I go into the BIOS and enable the raid configuration for intel or adaptec. I tried two raid controllers and created a configuration raid 5 by going through the bios of each controller. However, when I start to go through the process of installing ESXi 5.5 U2, I see not a logical drive, all I see are hard drives that I thought were configured as a logical drive in raid 5.

I know that I am using an old motherboard which is not on the HCL, but I just haven't the money to spend on equipment. I really want to make it work if possible. I tried to download ESXi 4 but it is no longer available . I understand I tried to use an older version to see if it contains the necessary drivers for it work and attempt to port these drivers in ESXI 5.5.

I was wondering if someone actually got this similar problem with supermicro Board and whether a solution or workaround has been found in which ESXi 5 can recognize the raid configuration? If this is impossible, it can't be done, that's what it is. I'll deal with it or put in place.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Not sure about this 'r1.1b' version, but original X7DAL-E has no onboard hardware raid controller. What he has is i5000 chipset, which offers the raid software-(aka bios-, faux-, etc.). This is not supported by ESXi (for very good reasons). And even if it were, no cache, you would get terrible performance...

  • Problems with Adaptec RAID followed after update02 arcconf

    Hello NG,.

We have problems with a 5.1 ESXi host.

    It worked fine with 5.1_update01.

After that we did a upgrade to Adaptec arrconf tool 5.1_update02 gives us an error message saying:

    Invalid controller number.

We suspect that the driver Adaptec SCSI (vmware-esxi-drivers-scsi-aacraid-510.5.2.1.29900.-1.1.5.799733.x86_64.vib) has been replaced by the hotfix.

Any who have had a similar problem?

What can we do? How to find the old driver?

    Kind regards...

    Hello

to install VIB/driver to take effect, you must restart you host. If something goes wrong don't worry, you can use alt-bootbank to restore any changes made by the installer.

To use successfully restore to the previous picture SHIFT + R during the process of start-up of ESXi.

  • ESXi 5.1 U1 does not table off Adaptec 6805E (supported RAID Controller) - why?

    Hi all

I built a new system with controller RAID Adaptec 6805E with 3 to 6 discs. My system also has a SATA (AHCI mode) CD Rom and HD. When I go to install ESXI 5.1 U1, the SATA HD presents itself as a storage device however my table off the coast of the 6805E does not work. If I then install 5.1 U1 disk hard, when I use the vSphere client and a new analysis of the discs, the Bay off the coast of the 6805E does not appear.

The 6805E is listed as compatible 5.1 U1 in the guide here: VMware Compatibility Guide: search for i/o device

I tried to build the array to the size of 1.5 TB and 3 to, 4 to 8.7 to.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I can look at the various logs on the server if that would be helpful - I don't know what I should be looking at.

I thank you very much in advance!

    did you get this job?

If not you have found, card is supported, but driver is asynchronous, which means that you need to install the driver separately, its not in ISO.

  • Adaptec 29160 not showing in ESX 4.1

I have a host whitebox with ESX 4.1 installed, everything works fine, except that the Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller does not appear in a configuration in VCenter for this host. There is an external Ultrium 2 tape drive connected to the SCSI cable that is powered on, the card and the reader are detected during POST. I'm fairly certain that I had this same box with the reader and card said running ESX 3.5 and I realize that it cannot be supported under 4.x. just seems weird. Any thoughts?

According to the KB, it is no longer supported.

  • For ESXi 4.1 - 2805 Adaptec RAID controller?

    Hello.

ASUS is not come through one of the PIKES are delivering controllers, I am looking for an another SAS/SATA Raid Controller supporting at least 6 disks and Raid 1 + 0, what I also learned as ESXi requires that it be a H/W Raid Controller.

I'm looking on the Adaptec RAID 2805 controller specifically.

It is one of the adapter entry level Raid controllers, then it is offered at a low cost and whereas it will be a small "House" use server runs a number of images of Windows/Linux, I don't think it would be as sensitive as the price difference is to choose an Adaptec RAID 5805 controller instead.

It is, does anyone have any experience with the Adaptec RAID 2805 controller? Since it is not listed on the compatibility guide, however the Adaptec RAID 2405 is and as far as I can tell the difference is the number of channels op. the 2405 would properly cover my needs as well if I could find a retailer for her near me.

So, the question, because any who have experience running VMware ESXi 4.1 on a Raid 1 + 0, using SATA disks with any of the listed controllers?

OK, found a Danish dealer who could acquire the LSI card.

Because you can't find that no SCSI U160 from the HBA the HCL. With vSphere all drivers must be 64-bit Code and it looks like this kills a lot of the material heritage. Just buy a U320 with LSI or Adapatec Chipsset and it will work again. To be sure to take a look at the first HCL

I found a list of devices removed in ESXi 4 on http://vm-help.com/esx40i/Hardware_support_removed.php

But this has nothing to do with VMDirectPath for me the list for this devices is very very short.

Cannot open SCSI device ' devices/vmfs/genscsi / vmhba3:5:0:0 '(scsi3:0): the file is not found. Cannot configure scsi3.

I get this error when you add a new SCSI device to one of my Virtual Machines, the device is a tape drive HP SureStore DAT40. The error occurs when the virtual machine is running, around 60% powerup.

I tried two types of SCSI cards, a "Adaptec 29160N" & a "Adaptec 29160LP" and two different cables, I get the same error with both. The ESX 3i 3.5.0 host to see two SCSI cards when checking under Configuration and then to storage adapters. When you click the SCSI card in the adapters of ESXi storage options, I see the tape drive listed as vmhba3:5:0 for the band and vmhba3:5:1 for the media changer. This makes me believe that, from the point of view compatibility, everything is good to go.

When I change the instance of VM to add the tape drive, I select new SCSI device which passes next to select the SCSI device in the options, I see HP - HP and media - bands like peripheral parts possible. I tried a variety of virtual device nodes and they all produce the same error that has been pasted above. When ok is clicked it adds the new SCSI device and a new SCSI Controller 1 using the LSI Logic Controller, I also tried all the options under this menu, 'None', 'Virtual' 'Physical' and I have even changed the Type of controller BusLogic, same results even if I get the error posted above.

The server in question is a Dell PowerEdge 2850, 2 x 3 GHz CPU, 8 GB of RAM, 300 + GB HD.

I searched the net and these forums and did not find any post about the error posted above, I have some hair left on my head and I don't know what to do at this point. What is a compatibility issue? I tried to add the SCSI device on another virtual computer on the same ESXi host and it gives me the same error. I know the tape drive, scsi cards, and two scsi cables, I am using all work correctly.

    Any ideas?http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/confused.gif

    • C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\Apple\Apple Application Support or
    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review other cases and a list of documents to support further down the page, in which case one of them applies.
