7.0 on Debian Wheezy 3.2.0 - 3 - vworkplace

I know this is an old version, but it is provided by Insynq as their linux client. I'm trying unsucessfully to install it from the file vWorkspaceConnectorForLinux - 7.0.0.012.bin.

I am running Debian Wheezy 7 with core 3.2.0 - 3-amd64.

He tries to build the sharing USB module and dies without generating the file "buildlog.txt. All this is build prerequisites are met, but it will just build this module or do anything you wanted.

It is possible to work or should I just ask a client version updated?

Does ever buildlog.txt? Where is it supposed to go?

It doesn't send errors to stderr or normal logs in/var/log I can find. I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks in advance.

Why is there no support for Linux / Mass Storage on Z3?

If you have an external SD card in your phone, you can connect this MSC instead of PSG. You can set the Sub settings-> Xperia connectivity-> USB connectivity-> USB connection mode. But the phone's internal memory can be connected using the PSG. If I understand correctly, this is because MSC would require your PC to have exclusive access to the memory and the internal memory of the phone is used by applications and the OS, so it cannot be used for MSC.

  • Someone at - it support 3D (Gnome3) to work in Debian Wheezy (or Jessie) under 11.0 Workstation?

When I was running 9.0 Workstation that has not supported 7.x Debian, I was able to get 3D support working by jumping through hoops that is easy to find by a google search (which one on this forum very is there a current guide to enable 3D acceleration in Debian invited?), however, try as I might I can't get the same job under 11.0 Workstation which takes officially supported Debian 7.x.

If I follow the steps documented, I get to a point where I can run the following command:

    GNOME-shell--replace

And Gnome3 loads, however, it is less stable, in fact quite unusable, while it has worked flawlessly in WS9.

I'm assuming that thexserver-xorg-video-vmware driver just doesn't work well with WS11 yet, but that's based on not very much Linux experience (maybe the driver is not the issue?), so I am interested in the thoughts of others. For now I have abandoned this dream.

    Cheers.

To read the release notes. I just noticed that by reading the notes of 11.1 version.

3D rendering is not available in some operating systems, if you use the hardware virtual version 11

If you are upgrading a hardware virtual machine virtual version 10 or 11, you may lose some 3D features in the virtual machine.

Workaround: operating systems for Windows, VMware Tools upgrade to the latest version, which comes with 11 workstations. For Linux clients, only the following distributions are currently supported for version 11 of virtual hardware:

    • 14.04 of Ubuntu LTS and above
    • 12.04.5 of Ubuntu LTS and above
    • Fedora 20 recent updates and more

For other Linux distributions and versions, if you plan to use the 3D feature, downgrade the version of the virtual equipment to 10.

So I lowered my virtual material 10, repeated that the hoop jumps in to re - build the xserver-xorg-video-vmware guy (Debian Wheezy) and now I'm all set.

I noticed a little backward that Jessie seems to work initially with Hardware version 11, but there are currently only another question which makes using Jessie in VMware is not worth the effort, unless you're willing to cherry pick a few problems upstream and stop more pending.

    I just found a solution:

    1. CD/usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
    2. CP vmnet.tar vmnet.tar.bak
    3. tar - xvf vmnet.tar
    4. VI vmnet-only/filter.c
    5. replace all the entries with - #if LINUX_VERSION_CODE > = KERNEL_VERSION (3, 13, 0) to #if LINUX_VERSION_CODE > = KERNEL_VERSION (3, 10, 0) and save the file.
    6. tar vmnet.tar - uvf vmnet-only
    7. RM - r vmnet-only.
    8. VMware-modconfig - console - install-all

  • Debian Wheezy 7 - iSCSI / LIO problem with ESXi 5.0

    Hi all

I had a Debian Wheezy on a HP ML310e server. This server should be used as an iSCSI - storage server.

Unfortunately I am not able to connect my 5.0 with LIO iSCSI target ESX servers.

I used the implementation of LIO (targetcli) for iSCSI and I used the official installation manual Linux target SCSI - ISCSI.

I disabled the CHAP authentication, because I thought that it might have to do with it, but still no go.

  • Debian Wheezy benefits as host operating system?

I couldn't be sure that form the compatibility page. (I'm very new to all this)

    Thank you

I find 'best' tends to be a subjective term relative so my suggestion to choose a distribution, you are more at ease and see if it is taken in charge and use it.  Keep in mind that even if a given Linux host OS can be considered as officially supported it is usually meant with the original release kernel, possibly some updates, but eventually if you keep upgrading kernels later than there may be problems that may require third-party patches before VMware also takes in charge last kernels.  It has almost always been a catch-up game for VMware support latest kernels as they become available.  Even though I believe that they worked on it to deal with kernel version, however it is not an easy process, because things are constantly changing.

  • Skype is abandoned in the Debian 32 bit

I tried to install the latest version of skype (4.3) on debian wheezy (7.6) 32 bits, but Skype is never open. I already tried to run Skype in the console, so I could see error messages. The only message I get is "abandoned".
I already followed this tutorial (http://linuxg.net/how-to-properly-install-skype-4-3-on-debian-and-derivatives-and-fix-the-crashes/), but it did not work.
Is there someone tried to install the latest version of Skype in 32-bit debian?

I had the same problem. I solved it by * not * the official .deb package. Instead, I downloaded the tar.gz file (I think it's called dynamic, it's the last selection in the drop-down below) and it extracted in / opt. Then, I created a link symbolic/usr/bin/skype that points to opt/skype-4.3.0.37/skype. In addition, I have deleted/renamed the ~ /. Skype folder to something else. I have not yet tried file transfers, but if it crashes on these one can still fix the database using your linked article.

  • Oracle on Debian 7 12: 'oracle' is not created.

Hi - I know, of course, that debian is not supported, but I've worked with Oracle for many years, and it is usually impossible. And others have claimed success, so I should be able to as well.

I had a few failures when linking, which I thought I solved, but a number of files done with size 0. run to reissue that all fixed some of them, but not 'oracle' itself. How to re-edit this one? In fact, all the following have this problem:

expdp extproc impdp oracle rman tnnfg trcldr dg4pwd

It doesn't seem to be a target in the makefiles.

If you all know so well and are so experienced, why must you ask? I see you got a professional response and reasonable suggestion. I see no valid reason to attack someone who was tyring to help and suggesting to use a supported operating system. Please keep in mind that here, nobody has to respond to your request.

The Oracle database installation requires an updated development environment the and some software packages that are obviously different under Debian and Red Hat based Linux distributions, this is why the program linking fails.

If I remember correctly, I've posted a guide for Debian 6 around January of last year, but I can't find any more. Maybe he got lost during the forum was last updated. I also wrote various other guides to install Oracle 11 g and XE on Ubuntu, that could be useful. Unfortuantely, many people have literally copied the information and used it to shine on their own blogs without giving any credit to the source of information. Lesson learned.

Google search will be your best option. For example:

Installation of Oracle11 and Oracle12 on Debian Wheezy, Squeeze

There are a few problems however, probably because some info has simply been copied from someone else. For example, the oracle startup script should use su to oracle and not su - oracle, which replaces the local variables, etc.

  • Dual boot Linux - Windows on the Satellite U940

    Hello to everyone.

I'm pretty new to this forum and I have a Toshiba Satellite nine U940-10N? Using Linux for the past 2 years, I would install a debian wheezy on this distribution.

Only Debian has been installed on my old computer, so I'm net really uncomfortable with dual boot especially with the ssd.

I really don't like windows, but I still sometimes work on this subject.

Don't you think it would be better to install linux on the system system, as I've seen on most threads, with only the/home on the HARD drive? Or do you think it would be interesting to build another raid as if it was now for windows? You want better performance and speed this way.

Another question: is it possible to have a data to ext4 partition and make windows to see or what I write to ntfs? I noticed that the written on linux with gparted fat32 and ntfs are not recognized by windows 8.
Those are my questions for now.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

First let's look at your situation - U940-10N will probably be a unit Win8, right?
If YES - then the BIOS must be configured for a UEFI boot.
    Secure boot can be disabled.

It seems Debian is not so far in supporting UEFI / EFI start modes.
Look at this ad from back in October:

    http://www.debian.org/devel/Debian-Installer/news/2012/20121018

So, you'll need to make sure that your debian flavor may start in UEFI boot mode.
If this isn't the case, you will have problems getting the two OS' (Debian and Win8) live side by side and start-up without problem.

Then, you will need to ensure that Debian is able to install a bootloader that takes account of Windows 8 and is able to start this OS.

Storage looking, I tried to install Fedora on a system of double storage (SSD + HDD).
I installed the OS on the SSD and my structure of the House was placed on the HARD drive.
    It worked very well.
I think that this also provides better performance, but I have no real statistics to back it up.

Ext4 is not supported by Windows out of the box, but there is an existing driver that implements ext2, 3, 4 support for Windows: http://www.ext2fsd.com/

If you ask me, I'd rather have Linux to access an NTFS partition that having Windows trying to write on a partition Ext2/3/4. I have full confidence in the NTFS from Linux support, but not the reverse.

If Fat and NTFS partitions are not recognized by Windows, check that partitions Fat32 or NTFS.
Maybe it's that the file systems are NTFS / Fat but the partitions have signatures of Linux.

    Hope this helps

    Tom BR
