• Installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on original Vista CQ60 and now can't do the system recovery

  My windows xP home edition has crashed on my HP Pavilion a620n. Initially, I was able to get by using the original cd of the publishing house. Then it crashed again. Rebooted and pressed F8 and typed in my administrator id. This time, a cam of the screen saying that it was an ID of invaled. Re-checkeded my Id and it was OK. Put in my cd original and installed on a different partition. Problem is that I forgot to do a dual boot. Now I have two sessions of windows xp on the same partition. Am able to switch between them, but really need the original. When I click on the origianl happens with the registry cannot load the hive (file) \systemroot\system32\config\software.

  If Windows 7 Professional installed on your laptop came pre-installed on it, you cannot transfer it to a new computer. This is what you call an OEM license. OEM licenses are not transferable to the new machines.

  If it is a copy of Windows 7 Professional, you bought in a store, so it's a license to retail sales, that you can transfer to a new computer, but you must first remove it from the machine that is currently installed.
