7410 all In One intermittent at best

Using Windows XP Home, Service Pack 3, 3 GHz, 3 GB RAM.  .  I have a 7410 All In One connected via USB.  3 years old. In the last 6 months, it was clear a persistent problem.  When off tension for some time, it will simply stop working. Disconnect - reconnect the power cord, the center of the screen lights up and the white bar will scroll on the bottom, suggesting it will connect, but the "on" light does not illuminate.  The USB is not connected, as it has been recommended that you wait until you are prompted to fix.   According to the hp website the drivers are up to date.

Another oddity, it's that when he is in this State, it will come suddenly back to life.  What happened a couple of times after anywhere from 6 to 12 hours.  Unfortunately, it is in this mode now, but after several days, he remained non-connected. Other related problems are that it has never properly analyzed.  Only once has a sweep succeeded, but the file has never been used in MS Word.

While a sustainable printer, when it works, the unit has been a disappointment.  Yet, I need to work and am looking for help to solve these problems before tightening it completely.

Thank you

WS

The common cause of this problem is a failure of the wireless card.  Since you are using a USB connection, you can remove the wireless card without losing all the necessary functionality.  The link here (focus on the shaded gray information, try to ignore the ads...) shows how to disconnect the wireless card.  There is further discussion (as well as some dead... links) here.

  • HP Officejet 7410 all-in-One (wireless) will not be in service - seems frozen

This afternoon the power came out in my office at home and after it was restored that my 7410 all-in-One printer stops working (bought in 2005).  I have unplugged and replugged and all I get is a blue screen on the digital screen with a circle with a line at 12:00 and the number 00000020 on the bottom.  The slight camera close the slots for memory cards also flashes on and outside.  No other light.  (Earlier the digital monitor comes to show the HP logo and a kind of hourglass linear downstairs).

The Start button does not, not even if I press on during a long period.  Is there a way I can manually reset the printer?  Help, please.  I need to get out a presentation tomorrow!  Thank you very much.

Yes, press on and cancel at the same time.  Got the FixYa.com site response.  Good luck.

  • I have a 7410 all-in-one printer. Is power on but it will not be printed.

I have a 7410 all-in-one printer, the power is the printer turns on, but when I push the printer button on the light does not come on and it will not be printed. Is there a reset somewhere button? Any suggestions

This is usually caused by a failure of the wireless LAN card.  You can solve this problem, as shown on this page.  Unplug the connector on the wireless card will disable wireless and correct the problem.  Since you're using USB shouldn't be a problem.

  • Printer, HP Officejet 7410 all-in-one

I recently acquired a 7410 all in one, and can't use it.  As soon as I plug turns on and begins what appears to be a search.  This research does not stop.  I can't turn off without unplugging.  I can't access the menu.  I can't reset the unit either.   any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Hello

It seems that the problem is with the printer... Please turn off wireless and do not connect any other power cord other than the power cord. then try to turn on the printer... otherwise I'll have to tell you that the printer is to have some sort of hardware problem and you need to replace the printer.  So go ahead and try to restart the printer and snack if it is not resolved, then you need to replace the printer.

  • drivers for my HP 7410 all-in-one printer

Can I download drivers for my all-in-one HP 7410 printer on my laptop, and transfer them on a disk, and then on my desk. I don't have a wireless to the desktop.

    Thank you

Hey Heezie. You can certainly do. Then tranfer to another computer, you will need some sort of storage such as a USB device, a disc external hard or you can burn them on a CD. What operating system do you use?

Here is the link to the drivers: Driver & Software Downloads - all-in-one printer, HP Officejet 7410

You provide me what operating system you were using, so I couldn't give you the direct link to the drivers. In the link above, you will need to choose your operating system. Select the driver tab, and then download the "full feature drivers."

If you have problems to find the pilot informed me to your operating system and I will point you to the download.

  • HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one intermittently print job does not print

My HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-One has a problem with the print jobs that fail intermittently to print the first time that I send it to the printer.  I can see the print job listed in the queue, but it fails to print.  I might have to send the job once again, twice or 3 times before it will finally print.

Try to stop and start the print spooler. I will include the instructions below.

    1. click on the start menu.
    2. in the search box, type services.msc and press enter on the keyboard.
3 scroll to find print spooler.
    4. Select the print spooler in the list.
    5. on the left side of the window, you should see the words stop and restart in blue letters. Click on stop.
    6. now it say start. Click Start.
    7. close the window.

If this does not work, try to bypass the print spooler. I will include the instructions below.

    1. click on the start menu.
    2 click devices and printers.
    3. right click on your printer.
    4. Select printer properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab.
    6. make sure that "Print directly to the printer" is checked.
    7. click on apply to save the changes.
    8. click OK to close the window.

If it still does not work, go back and set the printer to use the spooler again. After that, try to assign the printer to use a different driver. The link below will take you to these instructions. Let me know what happens.

  • 'Invalid WEP key' error on 7410 All in one wireless set in place

My 7410 has been connected wireless for more than a year, but I just installed a new router (Linksys N600) and cannot get the connection Wireless upward.  All other wireless devices are connected to the new router.  Using WPA2-PSK [AES] security on the router.  Using Setup on the front of the printer and it is fine network SSID location.  But only allowing a WEP key and give me the error code whenever it is entered.  Have tried to change the length of key on router to 5 or 13 characters and also tried 10 HEX digits.  Have powered turn off/on the printer and reconstituted on network settings.  No luck with anything.  The Cisco router I had already installed was also a N Router - no problem of the 7410 wireless connection but try exchanged due to too many lost connections.  Any advice?

I don't think that this printer supports WPA2.  Try WPA.

  • What printer all-in-one works the best?

I have order a MX922 from Amazon, but too late saw the comments on problems with printing on envelopes and cardstock.  Is there a Canon model that still has a lot of features like MX922 and a reputation without problem?

    Hi sandrawolf,

Our PIXMA MX922 can print on envelopes and special paper without difficulty; However, we recommend you some paper sizes, types and weights be used with the printer for optimal performance.  Please see the link below for our paper recommendations:

  • HP 7410 all-in-one (will not turn on or off)

Strange situation where the power button activates or disables the boot process.  Continuously display the start Word "Invent" with the HP logo.  May not know how to clear this or initiate the start?

This can be caused by a wireless card has failed in the 7410.  If you can live with a wired LAN connection, you can solve the problem by unplugging the cables from the card wireless as described on this page.  (Ignore the ads...)  I've seen some reports that suggest to remove the cable, starting the device and plug and reconnect may work with the wireless, then available, but I just use mine wired lan.

  • 7410 all in one will not print double sided

I am still using windows XP and a month ago, my printer has stopped printing double face and gies me a printing error.

"The document could not be printed due to a system error.  I've read the problems with the update to W7 and wonder if there was an update that messed up my printer too.

I have the same problem from multiple computers.

    Hello BobKPrinter,

I understand that you have a printing problems with an Officejet 7410 and Windows XP, I would try to help.

I would like that you try to make a copy of the front of the printer, if it can copy this means it should be able to print from the computer.

If you are able to copy, run the print HP and Scan Dr.. Let me know if the print and Scan Dr. passes, which falls down or what has been fixed, etc.

    Thank you

  • HP 7410 all-in-one network

I am trying to install my printer on a wireless network, but the networks are all identified as WEP encryption while WPA2-tkip/aes. I enter the password for the WPA and the printer tells me that my password is incorrect. It allows to work with a linksys router but does not work with a netgear router (WNR3500L). I tried a full reset on the printer with no luck, the radio is turned on, but does not connect. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that this printer supports WPA2.  Try WPA.

  • Is the HP OfficeJet 7410 all-in-one ethernet ability limited to IPv4, or does it include IPv6?

A new replacement of the router has been installed and I suspect that fast OEM install by default to IPv6, so I may need to break the detailed installation tips to see how to some device limited IPv4 parameter for this ancient printer.  TIA!

I'm sure that its IPv4 only.  You can just disable IPv6 on your router, you really don't need it for your local network.
