750 - 170SE: installing RAID HP 750-170SE

Hello

Looking for help to set up the RAID on 750-170SE office. I am unable to get the menu of RAID controller.

Here's what I've done so now fo.

I installed 2 SSD (Samsung EVO 850 500 GB) drives in the chassis. The bios recognizes as well as windows.

Went into the BIOS and changed the setting from AHCI RAID storage. "Then, I expect a prompt (such as CTRL + I) ' RIAD Setup devices". However, I don't see any change in the startup process after you enable the RAID in the bios.

I'm trying for 2 SSD RAID0 configuration.

The SSID is 2B4B. The only info I could find of this Council was:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04790224

And again, this is 'slim pickins' with no info on the controller RAID or SATA card.

Anyone know if this baord has a RAID controller that is hidden somewhere, and how it can be accessed?

Thank you.

Hello

According to the information that you have posted, your system should be crashing at startup upward.

  1. Don't forget to create the outside support of HP recovery and backup your data.
  2. Install the latest drivers Intel IRST RAID for your PC.
  3. Configure your computer to start in safe mode.
  4. Turn off and boot into the BIOS, replace AHCI RAID and keep.  Power off.
  5. Power on and you should now work with the RAID drivers in the safe. Reconfigure boot normally.
  6. Cycle power to the PC, and now you should be running in RAID mode.
  7. Now use the control panel-> utility TSRI Intel to set up for the RAID.

    Good day to all.

I tried several ways to start my server with interfaces in mode RAID/AHCI SATA only on Windows XP 64-bit OS.  I get the BSOD crash with error 7 b every time.

    Here is what I tried:

1 ignore checking the AHCI with Windows Setup and pressing F7 instead.
    2. place the ahci on a USB drivers, using F6 to load additional drivers.

  • How to install RAID 1 on 270 Vostro

I have a VOSTRO 270 with 1 TB of HDD.

I would like to have the RAID 1 (mirroring) on the hard disk.

The motherboard has 4 SATA connectors.  1 blue is, I believe (it's not in the documentation provided) a 6 Gbps connector and the Black 2 SATA connectors are, I suppose, SATA 3 GB/s.

The blue is used by the HARD drive.

If I go with normal RAID 1 (by adding a 1 to a black connector), I guess I'll reduce by half my speed in the car, assuming that it works at all.

The B75 Express chip located in the system has features that could give me 1 RAID without the problem of speed.

Has anyone here done what I'm talking about?  If so you can describe your experiences and what needs to be done to achieve this.  (The documentation does cover this.)

You can use any pair of SATA connectors you want - there is simply no difference between SATA 150, 3G and 6G for any hard drive se - no 7200 RPM drive can even begin to support 150 Mbps, and still less 3G or 6G (these speeds are the province of SSDS - classical records can't).
You will need the intel Matrix Storage Manager controller software to prepare the table (once you have configured drives in the BIOS as ON RAID).

  • Re: Qosmio G30 - RAID of the problems when installing the OS

I got my Qosmio G30-161 for half a year and he had thought should be time to reinstall everything, so I could get rid of things I didn't need (programs, viruses and uninteresting video clips).

So I took my XP MCE Cd and tried to install, and I am guided me through and come to the place where I had to choose between unknown 1st and 2nd 3rd stripping mirrored. I chose the stripping as I wanted my drives to be in one. Then when I pressed "next" it gave me the error message "1005 - HDD is not ready?

I tried to go into the BIOS and change the setting of different parameters of Toshiba told me to, but he also warned that if I changed my OS settings will need to be reinstalled. No problem. But I still get the same message error "disk is not ready?". So now, I have to use a computer other than mine to check the forums and mail etc.

Anyone know what I need to do? I'll be happy with anything as long as I can have both my hard drives (60 + 60 GB) and OS work. :)

Please help, I would urge for her, because the computer is the one I use for my school work. Feel free to ask questions about the tricks of the system. If you have an answer, please let it be simple, because I really don't want to mess up again ^_^

Please check the details relating to the installation of RAID user's Guide.
Usually if you use the clean Windows XP disk then you need to include the RAID drivers first.
Without pre-installed RAID drivers HARD drive will not be recognized and you will not be able to install the OS!

    Hello

Today, we plan to install ESXi5 on our server.

We had no problems during the installation of ESX4.1 as he ask custom drivers when it starts.

But ESXi5.0.0 does not ask for the installation of the custom driver and we cannot install raid controller driver!

I do not know how to resolve this so I wanted to know is possible to install the raid controller?

    Thanks in advance.

I know I ask too many questions, but I know a little bit about it.

Burn the image to a CD and run the installation from the bootable CD. Remember, though, that the image is usable only for new installations, not for upgrades (see release notes).

  • How to install VMworkstation with matrix RAID?

This procedure seems to consist of several steps. Installation of VMware; mounting disks; creating virtual disks; installation driver for RAID controller that supports VMware. Windows is confused as to volumes/drive letters, so that the file operations are difficult, sometimes impossible. What is the sequencing of these operations? Specifically, at what point are RAID drivers installed? I'll be able to install VMware, mount disks and to create virtual disks before installing RAID drivers? Otherwise doesn't seem like the configuration would be supported; the RAID card will not compatible system configuration to work with.

    Any practical advice? Unfortunately I can't back up now, so it would be good to get this one right. ;-}

.. . If you go to http://3ware.com/support/download.aspand then select the 9650SE RAID controller, you will notice that there is a specific driver of VMware.

This driver is for VMware ESX (i), no VMware Workstation.  ESX installs on bare metal, which explains the existence of the RAID for ESX driver.

VMware Workstation is installed as an application on a host system, so this isn't the host operating system needs the RAID driver installed, VMware Workstation.

    Hi guys

I had a similar problem installing RAID on my old Qosmio.
I didn't use the restore CD but the simple Microsoft Windows Boot CD.
The problem was my incorrect installation procedure.

After the installation of the driver the USB FDD drive RAID, the configuration of the installation works fine until I formatted the HARD drive or partition.
This has been bad! Don't format or delete the partition after installing the RAID driver!

In addition, make sure you use the right set of RAID! These settings can be checked in the BIOS! My Qosmio user manual provides lots of information about RAID. Did you check your user manual which settings are required to install the OS of Win CD?

  • Portege M400: Cannot install windows XP

    Hello

My friend gave me his Toshiba Portege M400 (PPM40E) at the table of settings windows XP (HHD is already formatted copmletely).

Before that I've never worked with SATA controller

So, when installing RAID drivers are required for any HDD lying.
I bought the USB floopy and downloaded some drivers from Intel.

Having suffered a bit, I found requireded (as I thought), hard disk drivers detected (even the license agreement I signed) but that pilots still needed to proceed with the installation.

IF someone faced this problem can you send me on my e-mail ([email protected]) required drivers or give me an exact link?
    Looking forward to your advice.

    Thank you for understanding,
    Best regards from Russia

    Hello

Maybe a stupid question but why you do not use supplied recovery media for the installation of the OS? As much as I know Portege M400 (PPM40E) comes with Windows XP edition PC of Table (teacher WXP).

  • How to install Vista on Qosmio G30?

    Hello

I bought vista ultimate 32 bit and want to install it on my laptop g30, y at - there somewhere an instruction step by step, how to install it without having any problems? I did a forum search, but only found the problem specific threads.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Christian

Looking for a step by step instruction Vista installation?
You n t need her. The Vista installation is very easy.

First you need to install RAID driver (but only if your computer supports RAID)
After this installation do more with Vista Setup.

After the installation of Vista to choose and download page of the European driver Toshiba theToshiba drivers and install Vista drivers in the correct order. Good order, that you will find in the installation instructions txt file.

By the way; Please check exactly what laptop Qosmio G30 you have and then choose the correct Vista drivers!

    Concerning

  • Qosmio G30: Try to install XP, but the HARD drive is not available

Two weeks ago, I bought a new G30 to Vista Ultimate inside. Many applications and devices based i.LINK cannot run on Vista and I decided to do a migration to XP PRO in time, pending new releases and manufactures of hardware drivers.

I have an original CD of Microsoft XP PRO, but when I try to install it, do not recognize the HD

Also, I try to use in the process of installing RAID HD XP drivers downloaded from the web site of Toshiba with a USB drive as a floppy drive 'A', because I don't have a disk external USB drive, but the start installation process do not recognize the format of stick memory (FAT).

    Anyone know about this?
What is the good process of re - install the OS?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    It's very simple.
The XP RAID driver must be installed from the USB FDD drive. You must store the RAID driver on the floppy disk, and then try to install it.

Impossible to install the RAID driver from the USB key because the installer of XP not recognize and support.

RAID installation from USB can be done in Vista!

  • XW4600: RAID Configuration

Hi, I have a XW4600 workstation with a hard disk of 500 GB.  The technical specifications of the workstation seems to suggest that it can work with a RAID configuration.

This is why I would like to add a second hard drive and install RAID for the purposes of resilience as the workstation is used for important purposes.

Couple of questions about it.   First, the RAID can be installed on this workstation?  Secondly, I know that I have to buy another hard drive with at least the same capacity, but don't I need to buy the part of HP number of hard disk or any disk hard do?  And finally, is it simple enough installation?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Please visit the two web links provided below:

1.) this is for configuring SATA RAID on the HP xw4600:

    http://saw.CCE.HP.com/km/saw/view.do?docid=emr_na-c01330263&HSID=65138786&sz=293840

    http://saw.CCE.HP.com/km/saw/view.do?docid=emr_na-c01187582&HSID=65138786&sz=12073

And YES, you can configure RAID in your unit, both HARD disks must be the same SIZE, speed (RPM) because its recommended for optimal performance.

Please buy similar brand of HARD drive because it depends also manufacturers and their compatibility.
