• Compaq Presario - problem connecting to Wifi

  I have a compaq presario, the name of the product "Presario C700" and the p/n' FE934UA #ABA. "The operating system is Windows Vista. I have Comcast internet and the router I am using is Netgear. Recently, I moved into a new place and will have problems connecting to Wifi at home. I've had this laptop for several years and have been able to connect to some wifis in the past, but there were moments where I was not able to connect to the wifi in some public places. I am able to connect to the wifi on my phone and another laptop, but not this one. I tried to reset the router and many other measures, but nothing seems to solve the problem. Whenever I try to connect, it says that the signal is excellent, but it fails to identify the network and said that "the router is unavailable. I already called my router company, but they were not able to solve the problem. The only way I can connect to the internet using an ethernet cable.

  What model of wireless network card your laptop there?

  If it uses an Atheros AR5007 wireless network card, see if installing this driver solves the problem.

  My uncle gave me his Compaq Presario after buying a new computer. The recovery disks were conducted (four in total + the repair disc) and I went to do a clean install. He went through the first two discs perfectly, but on the third, there was an error and the installation stopped. Upon inspection I found the marker on the underside of the disk that had been transferred to him when he had been placed on one of the other disks. The fundamental question is this: I'm handle?

• Problems with Compaq Presario 5BW220 RAM

  This office is 8 years old and supposedly supports 512 MB memory SDRAM PC100.

  Recently, I worked on this for my son-in-law.  It came with 64 MB of SDRAM PC100 and Windows Millennium Edition.  I tried to install 2-256 MB memory SDRAM PC133 maximum amount supported RAM, but it refused to start.  I replaced every 256 MB module with a 128 MB PC100 module and managed to do start.  I expected to read 384, but he will read only 256 MB.  I had not all PC100 256 MB modules to use.  I finally installed modules from 2 to 128 MB PC100 and he left like that.

  I never had a problem in the past with an old desk accepting a combination of PC100 and PC133 modules, so it was a first for me.

  Hello, I'm having a problem with my NEW Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX mother. Every time it boots up vista and I run internet explorer, I get a strange blue screen which exports a file memory and reboots.

  I have the feeling that this might have been caused by a virus, but I can't do something, because Vista can't reformat long for some reason any.

  I tried a hard test in my motherboard and he said that there is something wrong with my hard drive.

  I don't know what is happening, right now I'm in safe mode trying to find viruses that Nod32 does not detect everything.

  If you want to do a reinstall of Vista then press F11 continuously during the boot upward. This will bring you in Recovery Options were you can choose to restore the system in the same State as when it was purchased. But if, as you suggested, is that a problem of hard drive reinstall won't help.

• Compaq Presario CQ56 - :(wireless Internet problem

  Hey everybody,

  So I just joined here to see if anyone can help with my problem, because frankly, I'm out of options now about two weeks asking friends and colleagues and searching the Internet for answers to similar problems. I tried twice with the information I found on this site for quite some time and it does not work for me!

  In any case, I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ56 laptop. It has been implemented correctly when I bought it, everything worked perfectly. I managed to catch a virus that prevented me from even turn on my computer (which is strange, because I'm not a fool with computers, and I know what not to do/download sites to visit), so I had to restart my computer to stock, I used my Windows 7 disc, partitions formatted and installed windows again.

  Now, for some reason it doesn't connects wireless Internet. It connects when I have an ethernet cable connected, but it is not all networks, as shown in this screenshot:

  So you see my problem it is very frustrating. I don't know what is the cause, but I guess it must be a driver problem? Which is why I write here, if this is indeed in the wrong section, please accept my apologies.

  If someone could shed some light on the problem for me, or even to resolve, I'd be very grateful it is extremely annoying. As I said, it works fine when I have my laptop connected to the internet, when I'm in College, but when I come on a weekend, I can't put my laptop, because I only WiFi at home.

  The problem is that the needs of the wireless (network controller) one adapter driver installed and here is the link for the driver you need.

  If you are unable to get any power on the computer, it is most likely a problem with the motherboard of the computer.

  I recently came across a problem with my laptop Compaq Presario CQ42-117TX. I had a few regular updates installed and when I tried to restart the computer to complete the update, it starts for a long time then usual before flashing a blue screen for a second and then blacking out.

  I have a problem with the Start button on the Tower on my Compaq Presario SR1879UK Tower. When I pressed the button start on the PC Tower didn't, but the light that surrounds the button start flashed constantly.   I understand you are trying to upgrade your system to Windows 7.  You tried to boot from a USB, but after several attempts you have created a DVD with Windows 7.

  You have tried to boot from the DVD but even once is not successful.

  You have checked the boot order and it is set to 1. USB 2. Hard drive.

  Here is a link to HP Notebook PC - configuration of the Boot in the BIOS system order. to help you to change the boot order.

  Here is a link to HP Notebook PC - perform a recovery of the system (Windows Vista) HP. Follow the process on a disk.  Once you have started on the drive just follow the installation process as you normally would.  Of course this isn't a cover you won't get the option to backup your files.

  Thank you, but I've now sorted. If anyone has this problem as it seems to happen for a lot of these models, all I had to do is take off the screen and theres a card below the screen theres a black wire with a white contector of this card that seemed to be attracted to the lifting up & down the screen. all I did was to pull the wire through which gives him a bit of slack to move and I recorded it down and everything was fine

  I have a Compaq Presario CQ43-206TU to fix here and ive some problems that I had to reinstall windows 7 x 86 and the first problem is the work of dosent FN key at all. Ive installed the tool recommended HP without effect.

  The second thing is dosent it driver Bluetooth install well watch upward with the error in Device Manager.

  one thing I did prior to the relocation is an update of the bios to version F37, but there is also no setting for Bluetooth or shortcut keys to activate.

  Before the bios updated and the reinstall the wifi led on the keyboard was red and now its red until windows starts and that it turns white. The FN key worked before as well.

  How can I get that all the work?

  Ive solved the problem. I had to disable the key mode in the bios and it worked after. Bluetooth is another problem windows update installed a new driver who caused problems after a reinstall of windows (just delete driver has not worked for me) and by the use of hp, it worked.

  Well, the only thing I can think of to confirm that your wireless card did or didn't die is to go into your BIOS by pressing F10 at HP welcome screen and see if there is a configuration menu of devices and make sure that your wireless adapter is displayed.

  If it does not appear, make sure that the setting is set to enabled.

  If it is not, then I guess that the card is completely broken.

  If it is listed and enabled in the BIOS, then you have a major software problem and my solution would be to save all the files you want to keep and perform a system recovery.
