760 GTX even power req as GTX 560TI for XPS 8300?

My XPS 8300 has a GTX 560 TI originally equipped.

IAM thinking of upgrading to a 760 GTX but all the messages suggest the Dell power supply will need to be upgraded. The thing is, when I look at the GeForce site for specifications, it says that both cards have the same characteristics of power, map max 170 watt and the power of 500 watts min, which is more that I understand Dell ships with, but Ive never had a problem with the 560, in fact the specifications of the Geforce show 210 watt for oem 560.

Don't you think that I'll be able to run the 760 if the 560ti has been authorized?

What about any other matter, I read such as to the incompatibility of the bios?

The XPS 8300 has the power of 460 watts.  The system provides up to 225 watts for video cards using 2 PCIe power connectors.  The Dell OEM GTX 560 Ti won't have the same characteristics as a retail card, however.  It is more likely uses less energy than the information you find on retail cards.   Theoretically, this should work since both have approximately the same energy consumption.  Have a 460 watt PSU vs having a 500-watt power supply will not make a difference here.  Dell POWER supply can most likely culminate at 500 watts in any case if necessary, but she won't be necessary.  It is up to you, but I wouldn't have a problem, give it a try.  Compatibility with a Dell bios or motherboard is another story and XPS models have had their fair share of it.

I have a 660 s Dell with just a 220 Watt power supply.  Two video cards, I used in this system have said that a requirement of POWER 400 watts PSU and both worked very well.  It's a difference of 180 watts compared to the 40 watts you have.  As long as you know what really are the electrical needs of the video card, you can essentially determine whether a map will work or not.

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card Radeon HD 6450 in my XPS 8300 a GTX 960 (specifically, the edition of Strix ASUS) and I have a few questions:

He enters the case? (dimensions of the card: 21.52 x 12.12 x4.09 centimeters)

Will it work with the motherboard? (the card is pcie 3.0)

It will work with food? (460w power supply card 'up to 150W additional 6-pin PCIe consumption)

Sorry if I look like a noob but this is my first time upgrading a platform.

    Thank you!

    The graphics card:

    www.Asus.com/.../

The stock answer from Dell, it's that they tested only a handful of older cards.

The reality is that many have done on an 8300. Search this forum and see what worked.

Insofar as the PSU, yes the stock PSU THAT will work with a GTX 960. It has a PCI power with two cable six pins on the connectors. If the specific card you choose has a connector 8 pins, most of the cards equipped with a 8 pin adapter 6.

I'm not 100% on the supply POWER 8300 has two six pin PCI connector.  Best to open the case and look. I thought the 8500, a member of the family was when I wrote this.

But, how old is your system, and how much time it runs a day that it might be time to consider a new power supply. If so, search the forums for what everyone puts in their 8300, 8700 or 8900 again. They are in the same case and best I can tell essentially the same power supply.

Another advantage of upgrading the PSU will be slightly more efficient and quieter.

I upgraded to Seasonic X - 650 s of my 8700 s two and have the OEM in a box as a spare for the members of the family.

So, while I'm spending your money, you might consider a GTX 970. Prices are down because the next generation of cards is almost here. If you're game, you can consider a little more power under the hood of the GPU.

  • 760 GTX vs GTX 960... stick or twist?

Have done pretty well in my mind up on this, but for a sanity check, thought I would ask here for those who know.

I have a couple of PNY GTX 760 purchased just before Christmas at a cracking price. The plan is / was that they want to go in a couple of Dell T5810 I am about to install for a next project (Xeon 1620v3, 16 GB RAM, SSD 2 x 256-2133). I saw that the GTX 960 are now on the market, so should I return the 760's and upgrade to the 960's for a cost of about £40 (ish) by card, or stick with the 760 GTX because they are a solid card, which, from my understanding, is a very good balance with the rest of the system?

I already have 3 versions of hexagonal base of these systems operating with GTX 970 and have been very happy with them, but I know newer is not always better. There was limited reference points for GTX 960's (that I could find anyway), and they are mostly associated with games. I've seen some chatter around that fact that he is not a great leap forward on the 760 GTX, but how that translates to sue with Adobe and especially creative and Media Encoder? On the paper where the 760 has 256 - bit with a bunch of 192,2 Gbps memory bandwidth 960 is 128 bits with 112 GB/s. I know that Maxwell on more than Kepler improvements place for these stats through the end cards above, but put aside from the low power draw and heat it would really help in this case?

Then, stick or twist? My current thinking is stick with the 760's, because it is not worth the extra £'s.

Thanks in advance for all comments.

Well the GTX with several processors cores 1152 1024 and more than 760 band 192 against 112 GB/sec memory bandwidth make the 760 GTX a CURRENT winner.  If you are thinking to the future and you want HDMI 2.0 for future use, then go with the 960 GTX, but HDMI 2.0 involves 4K video and or card is well equipped in the 4K process.

  • Is a power supply of 300 watts for an EVGA GTX 750 ti sc?

300W power is the bare minimum for your system according to the specifications you noticed down and would be at the edge of the chasm with a Nvidia GTX added 750.

Disconnect the USB ports wouldn't make a real difference. You would need a bigger power supply. I would go for a minimum 450W to give unused production capacity. What you don't want is a power constantly work at or near's maximum... :-)

This power supply 430 Watt would work? Its the only one that I found which fits in my case.

  • use cc2015 760 GTX?

    Hi Adobe:

I use GTX 760 or GTX 760OC for 3D rendering engine after raytraced effects?

    He has co... Similarly? Work?

    Thank you very much!

The GTX960 will not accelerate the raytraced render engine. However, I don't know of many people who use the ray-traced rendering engine. I wanted to just make sure that you were aware in case you were one of the few people who have used it.

If you use something like 3-d element, this card will be great.

  • HP ENVY 137C 750: GTX 1070 for HP ENVY 750-137C graphics card upgrade

I picked up a refurbished HP ENVY 750-137c and am currently looking to improve the graphics. I don't want to break the Bank, but I don't want it to last me a while, I'm looking at the Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 1070.

Apart from the evolution of the needs of power, does anyone know if this card is compatible, and if there are problems with this upgrade? In addition, Nvidia recommends a diet of 500W for this card. Would be - it sufficient, or is - this genrous number? In addition, if someone has a product of power supply they would recommend for this theoretical combination, I'd greatly appreciate advice.

    Thank you!

    @Drifterx311, welcome to the forum.

Here are the full specifications of the card on the nVidia website.  The card is double slot and 10.5 "long.  I suggest measurement of the back plate of e/s to the front of the box to see how much space is available.  I think it fits, but it will be tight.

As you said, the specs recommend a PSU 500W (PSU).  Personally, I'd buy one at least 600 w.  This will give you extra power for peak needs.  I love Corsair products.  Here are a few PSU for you to review Newegg.  If you choose a modular power supply it will allow you to install only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  This allows for better air circulation.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about them.  A good diet will make your system run much better.

  • XPS 8300 and GTX 980 Ti

    Hello

I have an a XPS 8300, I was wondering if it will work with a GTX 980 Ti assuming that:

    • Power supply is upgraded (already have)
    • fits in the case (go to check)
    • Updated BIOS (I'm sure that I have of the A06 Bios will check)
    • have minimum 8G of ram (I do).
    • Still using Win 7.

from what I've read, 980 seems to work if you have the above. What about a Ti 980?

is there anything else I should be worried?

    Thank you

On this page there was a guy by the name of "SlimJ87D" who put a 980ti in a 8700 successfully. I think it's basically the same deal.

Unfortunately, due to the connectors being the end of the map that they were under the metal aside for him then, he said, it was not enough space to put in the pin connectors, while his shear part of the metal that you see in the picture he posted on this page that I linked.

You may need to do the same thing that ti 980 you get. He used the MSI file that is listed as 5.51 inches in height.

A smaller in size might very well fit. Here "agentblue" said the ti-980 EVGA adapt without the need to change the case. The ti PNY 980 is similar in size to the EVGA so it would probably be good too. Most of the others seem to be larger.

GPU-GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2015)? Yes or no?!

Hello. I would buy GIGABYTE GPU GeForce GTX 970 4 GB but I can't find the map on the website of Adobe system requirements. What GPU will work for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (2015)? Is activated GPU acceleration? Thanks a lot for your reply and advice in advance. Martin

They tend to cards list itself more, as they did... so they list the requirements for cards that work with the programs. Who are a minimum of 1 GB of vRAM and a few other things. As the production of internal software of the card, which is like a '3.0' or whatever and all 900-series cards are way beyond that... so with a 4 GB of vRAM card, the other issue is the number of cores CUDA has?

Current recommendations are to stay above 1 000 CUDA cores... .and most 970, I've seen are listed with hearts CUDA along 1600... so it should be good. I myself use a 970 GTX w4GB vRAM. Now... a good GPU does not in itself and make an editing machine who shouts, as only certain things go by the GPU in PrPro in any case. A bad can certainly slow things, however.

    Hi guys

I have a HP-Pavilion VD012AA-ABU m9753uk with OS windows 7 ulitmate and I want to upgrade my graphics card to a Nvidia GTX 560Ti and I was wondering if this card would hold on my motherboard. I know that the motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 slot and be ok 1, but I don't know that I need to look at, I know there are several variants such as ATX and others because I have only a 300 watt power supply, I need to spend at least a power of 500 watts power however im don't know what connectors my computer has to power supply and what kind you provide and also is here a chance to overcharge me my other components such as my processor or CPU due to the increase in power as I currently have a graphics card Nvidia GT 220 installed if that helps at all

Here are the specs for my graphics card (http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-560ti/specifications)

also here are my computer Specs (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01817967&prodT...

any advice you could give me the guy would be great I never made any changes to my computer with acclamations im not sure what to do

    Hello

Consult this publication document for more information.  Open your PC and measurement.  The NVIDIA 560 TI type is 9 "long.

I don't see a problem with the NVIDIA TI 560 and the m9753uk.

You will need a power of 500 watts.  The Corsair CX500 is an excellent choice.

    Laptop Toshiba computers use a 19 V or 15 V adapter.

  • Person we know what power supply is on the XPS 8300

    Hello

I have a Dell XPS 8300 and you want to buy a video card double to support two monitors.  I read a few different items to a 500 Watt power supply.  I looked on the delivery, when I bought the 8300, but it does not show the power.  Other than opening the case, is there a way I can find food that is installed?

    Thank you!!!

I think it's the same thing that the 8500 is 460W, which has two six pin PCIe power connectors.

    What exact card do you?

In addition, if you have not opened the file in a while, you could do this (outside) with a can of compressed clean air on the dust bunnies.

  • Acer G3120 and 760 GTX Preadator not start

Hello! I just upgraded my Acer Preadator G3120 with a new graphics card, the Asus GTX 760.

With the card installed, my computer starts normally, then gets stuck in the Acer logo screen. It will not load the installation cd and I can't enter the BIOS, despite the screen saying to normal "press Del to enter BIOS. If I reinstall my old card, my computer works normally.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a hardware problem, my motherboard and the power supply (by default) must be able to run the new card. I have the latest version of the BIOS, P01. A4.

    Please, any help?

GTX770 also do not work and it is the bios of your motherboard. IM in the same situation as you.

I tested several Nvidia card and none of them works above.

    The 560Ti work well.

Next time I know not why do not buy any computer of ACER brand.

I have not heard any upgrade laid down Acer bios.

I also tried a card radeon and R9280X work, but these cards have another problem.

Wish you happy hunting for your problem.
