Rev [edited moderator Serial Number] s/n YAR41VWO.

Thank you very much for the help.

Unfortunately, it won't work.

Your desktop PC old venerable uses don't suport not the SATA interface and IDE hard disks. He certainly gave you several (10) years of great service.

SSDS use the SATA interface.

There is none of the hard drives SSD IDE on the market.

This is why it was suggested at the forum that you referenced to turn off the old office in the pasture.

    Thank you

There are four different versions of the Optiplex 7010, Mini-Tower, desktop, Small Form Factor and the Ultra Small Form Factor.

Assuming you have the desktop version and not the minitower.

The desktop version, can support a 3.5 "or 2 x 2.5" SATA drives.

You will need a basket of 3.5 "x 2 x 2.5" hard drive, plus one SATA data cable and possible a SATA Y power splitter.

    Hello

Don't try to install Windows 7 no driver special controller is necessary because Windows 7 already contains the controller from Microsoft to address common driver.

Just a question: was the formatted SSD drive and the new partition created before trying to install Win 7?
    Should be done

Using the Toshiba Recovery disk in order to install the system on this SSD drive?
Must use this disk the recovery disc could be created using the recovery disk creator pre-installed Toshiba which was part of the system pre-installed and configured by Toshiba

  • What kind of hard drive is HP Pavilion dv6700. its about 7 years

its running vista, but the computer will not start all the way.  I did a diagnostic test and it said to replace the hard drive so im wondering what kind of hard drive is in it.   What is happening is the load on the computer to the microsoft, just before you put your password and then just stays black.

Piece of cake on your model.

If the test indicates the disk needs to be replaced, I would not argue against this info.

You can try reinstalling the operating system before you buy a new HARD drive, but if it doesn't, then you know that the drive is kaput.

Here is the link to the service manual.

    R & R procedures are in Chapter 4.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01295877.PDF

You will also need to reinstall the operating system. You can see if the recovery discs are available by contacting HP technical support.

If you can read the product key of MS Vista 25 characters on the bottom of your PC, you can do your own Vista installation disc and allows to install the operating system.

If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them on my hp dc7100 CMT PC desktop computer, they worked perfectly.

When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-Microsoft-Windows-v...

After you install Vista successfully, you can then install the drivers for your PC and driver page support.

This is where I buy my PC hardware:

At the top of the drive of 250 GB 7 200 rpm of line:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822136279

A 250 GB drive to 5 400 rpm standard of good quality.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822236238

You must transfer the caddy, the screw and the connector from the old HARD drive to the new, so nothing to mix until the job is done.

  • Pavilion HPE H8-1234: what hard drive to replace current for Pavilion H8-1234

The hard drive I have now is HDS721010CLA630 SCSI Disk Device with 1 TB.  This is bad.

I was told the new replacement hard drive should be similar, a little bigger is ok, but cannot change otherwise the card mother or any other pilots, summer, etc or the restore image will not work.

What features of hard drive do I buy that resemble what is the system now? The new hard disk can be bigger (2 TB would be great), but most of another must be similar to the mirror image can be used to restore as well as Win 7 Pro and Outlook 7 configurations and all to a new internal hard drive.

Western Digital, Seagate seem reliable, but I'm unable to understand other descriptions such as sata 3.0 vs 6.0, red, black, cache memory 64 MB instead of 32 MB whatever that means? What should I choose?

Any thoughts on what kind of buy that is compatible with the motherboard and others on my system would be very welcome!

    Thank you very much!

    Hello.

On descriptions of hard drives, HARD drive cache refers to the amount of data, the drive is able to get ready for treatment. Essentially the more Mo - better, but as Big_Dave says:

«the performance between a cache 32 MB or 64 MB would be negligible unless your PC is running an interactive application of DB.»

SATA is a computer bus interface that is a standard for connecting hard drives in the computer systems. There are three types that are retro-compatible and have different transfer rates - SATA I is 1.5 Gb/s, SATA II 3.0 Gb/s and SATA III is 6.0 GB/s.

Regarding the colours of WD, each player has a build-in features specific which makes it good for different purposes. So according to what you are going to do the HARD drive, I recommend a different color.

For example, WD Blue is a regular daily reader that is most commonly used for ordinary calculation, workloads and play of light and combined with SSD. He is quite able to run most of the games as well as many programs for editing or programming. http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?ID=S7uxm7

WD Green is your energy-efficient drive that works cool, calm, and saves a lot of energy. It is designed for secondary storage and backups, and these characteristics allow it to be an excellent choice for quiet versions of backup or archiving. http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?ID=iTh9tK

WD Black is the record of performance of the consumer of WD. It is the fastest among them and has a built-in dual-core CPU that makes the ideal player for multitasking. It is designed for heavy games, large workloads and the intensive use of file. http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?ID=hSoUcT

Hope this helps, and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

    See you soon!

  • Seagate Free Agent Desktop does not recognize my hard drive in Windows 8

My Seagate Free Agent Desktop does not recognize the hard drive on my new computer with Windows 8. Although I can still use it to save and transfer all the data from one to the other, I lose the functions in the menu of the Seagate such as backup and synchronization. It worked fine on my old computer that worked on Windows XP. I tried Troubleshooting compatibility mode and that did not help.

The message in the Seagate Manager appears as:

    (2) which is better/more fast?... (1) a disk hard of 750 GB hybrid with a solid 32 GB set out by car or 2) a 750 GB HDD hybrid with HP protectSmart hard drive and does not allow the addition of an SSD.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_drive

    2. for single, hybrid HARD drive HARD drive is faster but with in a machine, the SSD + HDD is faster and more expensive too.

  • Pavilion dv6: I did now the hard drive on my HDD test failed and the pavilion dv6

The problem is that my laptop when I start it it takes like 10-15 minutes to load.

I see loading windows xp logo and then he is suspended for more then 10 minutes or more.

Now, I tried to do a test for the material. I turn on the laptop and click the F2 key and I entered the test screen of hp hardware. I moved start test drive hard and after 5-10 seconds or if stopped with a test failure:

That's what I see now on the screen of the laptop:

    Edit:

I tried now all the other tests in the F2 screen, and they all went except the short DST hard drive that has failed.

Better to buy a new hard drive and replace it with this one and I install the new OS on it own?

    Test drive: FAILURE

Does that mean ID failure? I need to replace with a new hard drive? If so can I buy a new hard drive and replace it only with myself?

I did no other reviews but I want to first of all understand what it means to id of failure.

    Hello

The hard drive is faulty defiantly and Yes should not replace. Failure ID is given, so if your laptop is under warranty you can give this to HP and it will then allow you the replacement

Usually the instructions on how to replace the hard drive are in the manual of your computer that you will be able to get a copy on the HP site. You can also buy the HP installation media which will be operating system files on your for reinstall on the new hard drive.
