7955 max hard drive

I have a 7955 without hard drive and was wondering about the maximum hard disk capacity for this machine, and no particular install requirements. I already tried to install a 320 & it would not install. It has been recognized by Windows Setup, but it have problems with BIOS and wouldn't boot. What is the maximum capacity of your primary hard drive?

Thanks for the reply!

  • Equium A60 - Max HARD drive?

    Hey, forum noob here.

    I know this has been asked before (see [here | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=119435𝊋], [here | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=81428𓸔] and [here | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=136793𡙙]), but I have yet to see a definitive answer, so...

    What is the biggest HARD drive I can put in an Equium A60? Anyone know?

    (Processor is Celeron 2.8 GHz;) Current BIOS is version 1.8 c).

    NB. this a 2nd or 3rd hand reconditioned machine. The insignia on the bottom says "TOSHIBA EQUIUM A60 PSA67E-00300C8J" but SystemInformationForWindows tells me that it is a Satellite A60. So maybe someone has used a disc re - install from a Satellite A60 at some point. I don't have if this is important - I mention this it just in case...

    TIA. Any help would be appreciated.

    Tom

    Just if someone has tested, it can offer a definitive answer. Of course, nobody has played with such things but let's be realistic.
    Equium A60 comes with IDE ATA 6 HDD SATA not. AFAIK these HDDs have limit on 136 GB or something like that. So I think that you can use all the disk up to 130 GB.
    In my opinion, you can use maximum 120 GB IDE ATA HDD. I'm not 100% sure, but if you use the more big HARD drive is more than 136 GB will not be recognized.

    So much about the theory. ;)
    I just hope someone can confirm or deny my theory on HDD max.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Equium A60 PSA67E & Max hard drive capacity

    Is there a maximum capacity that the BIOS can see that I'm looking to upgrade the hard drive of my laptop?

    Hello

    As far as I know this device was shipped with 40 GB HARD drive. Well, in my own opinion you can go 80 GB HARD drive with no problems. I think that State it should be possible. But if you want to have such detailed information you should contact manufacturers of HARD drive or a merchant of HARD drive professional because he has a detailed information about the limitations of the HARD drive.

  • Satellite 230cx: Question about HARD drive, memory and CD recovery.

    Can someone tell me if I can get a recovery for a 230cx disk? And what is the max hard drive that I have and RAM.

    Thank you...

    Hello

    Well, it is a very old unit. I think that it s about 8 or 9 years.
    However, I found the information that this unit has an internal memory of 16 MB and it of possible to upgrade the memory for max 144 MB (16 + 128MB)
    Also, this unit has been delivered with a 1.37 GB HDD part Nr.: P000229560
    I don t think you will be able to use a big HDD like 10 GB. The BIOS couldn't t recognize the HARD drive. Sorry but there is no information on the maximum size of HARD drive.

    The recovery CD, you must order the Toshiba service partner.

  • Satellite A40 - what size of HARD drive max is possible

    This Satellite A40 has a 40 GB drive at 4200 RPM.
    Looking for 120 GB and 160 GB.

    This question is to know if I can consider a higer RPM one / or access time.

    What are the limits?

    Maurice Newsome

    Hello

    I presume that the A40 supports an IDE HDD ATA-5 controller.
    In this case the 120 GB is the max of the LBA 28 bit

    But in your case I would first test an 80 GB or 120 GB HARD drive.

  • What HARD drive max can I use for Satellite 2410-504

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba 2410-504 P241E the 20 GB drive HARD is almost full, and I would like to buy another larger capacity disc to replace.
    My question is what is the maximum capacity disc and what type of drive this machine will support?

    Note: I have the latest version of the bios installed and the machine is running Win XP pro.

    Concerning

    Bob

    Hello

    I think that the laptop supports an IDE HDD controller that supports only 28-bit LBA as suggested by resident. This means that the controller does support max 128 GB IDE hard drives.

    Since ATA - 6 (Ultra DMA mode 5 or Ultra-ATA100) the 48-bit LBA is supported but I n t think that Sam 2410-504 was equipped with the ATA-6 controller and therefore, it seems that 120 GB (128 GB HARD drive not available) disk HARD is the maximum that could be used.

  • Download iCloud photos to External Hard drive maxing out on my Mac hard drive

    My photo library was therefore mainly on iCloud due to its size, but I wanted have also stored it locally. So I bought a large external hard drive, plugged and copied my library of Photos of her. I made library of the external hard drive the library 'system' and click on ' download originals of this Mac. "

    My photo library increased from 5 GB to 127.5 GB local. Strangely, my iMac's hard drive began to be filled with hundreds of gigabytes of 'Other' files. Near 458 GB of "Other" files. I had to move even more files on the external drive just to make my iMac service as the new mysterious files are maxing out my hard drive.

    I'm sure that the download is at the origin of these mysterious "other" files. The download is almost complete. Is what I assume to be deleted by the Photos app temporary system files? I can't find the source of these files. My iMac utility disk tells me I have files over 121 million, while that the Finder tells me that I have only ~ 1 800 elements.

    Should I just make the trip to the Genius Bar, or this should be resolved once the download is complete? Late 2009 iMac, 500 GB; 1.3 photos.

    Thanks in advance.

    Let the full download and then check - it will probably be fine

  • 6.04 MB/s max on a USB hard drive

    I have a USB hard drive, I used for a backup. I use to be able to get 30-50MBps on it, but after that I reinstalled ESXI 4, I was able to get 6.04MBps MAX I tried different guests, different usb ports, nothing seams to help. Any ideas?

    Even if you could a USB key as data store, performance will be slow due the unique axis of key USB and PAHO are / s of SATA would also be very little.

  • Satellite Pro M30: new HARD drive - what is the max capacity?

    Hello

    My Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 is 4 years old with a 60 GB hard drive (IDE).
    I would like to replace the hard drive with a bigger. What is the best? (BIOS version 1.70, Windows XP Pro SP 3).

    I would be happy not only to get the answer to my question but alos to where I might find the answer myself.

    Thanks and greetings
    waltgallus

    Hello

    As far as I know the laptop is equipped with an ATA-100 IDE / ATA-6 HARD drive controller.
    In this case, you will need to use the 2.5 IDE HARD drive.

    I know with certainty that this notebook would support 80 GB HDD, but generally a larger HARD drive should also be possible because the controller is able to manage the 48-bit LBA.
    The 48-bit LBA can handle hard drives of more than 120GB.

    In my opinion, you can try a 120 GB and also 160 GB HARD drive should be possible.

  • Need info on max size of HARD drive available for Satellite Pro M30-813

    Hello

    The question is mainly to be sent to Toshiba authorized support personnel. The limitation of the maximum size of a HARD drive internal that I could use with my Satellite Pro M30 - 813, what exactly?

    Recently, I bought and installed seagate SATA drive of 160 GB, on which I installed WXP Pro and have been running for a while with no problems. Recently, I've been copying large amounts of data to an external hard drive to my new internal drive, and that the files have been copied, as I noticed have about 50 GB of free space left, I knew windows "delayed write failed" and a failure of massive wall without the possibility to recover the data. The system would no longer boot time and the entire MBR has been damaged. As a result, I lost all the data on my new drive.

    Well, I realize that Toshiba is not responsible for additional hardware that I use with my computer laptop and who is not officially supported by Toshiba, I am sure that as an end-user of a Toshiba product, that I have the right to know a lot information of limiting size of HDD for my model of laptop. So I ask, representing technical support Toshiba to give me an official reply directly to my question.

    Thank you in advance,

    Andrejs

    Hi Andrew

    > The question should mainly be addressed to Toshiba authorized support staff
    I think that you are in the wrong place if you are looking for a response from an authorized Toshiba support.
    This is a user to user Toshiba forum! You will here meet passionate and Toshiba laptop owner who share knowledge and trying to solve the problems, but no one of Tosh :(

    I could give my experience with Satellite M30 and HDD upgrade possibilities.
    To my knowledge the M30 Sat supports a 40 GB, 60 and 80 GB HARD drive for sure.
    In my opinion, you can use the 100 GB HARD drive, but more large HARD s drive will not run and works correctly.
    So go to a smaller size of HARD drive and enjoy the laptop!

    I've goggled a bit and found compatible drive HARD and part numbers
    HITACHI GBC000Z810-> 80 GB
    HITACHI GBC00014810-> 80 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2188B-> 80 GB
    HITACHI G8C0000Z610-> 60 GB
    HITACHI G8BC00013610-> 60 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2183-> 60 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2184-> 60 GB

    I hope this might help you a little!

  • Max on Portege 3480CT HARD drive capacity?

    What is the hard drive of greater that I can install it on a 3480CT portege? can I write DVD with an external burner (USB 2.0)?

    Hello

    You will be very happy if someone can give you specific info on the maximum capacity of the HARD drive for this model of laptop. This info can give you a few specialist upgrade for laptop, but I think that 20 or 30 GB maybe are no problem.

    I use the external DVD burner too, but not ultra slim but desktop engraver special cardboard. I don t use USB. FireWire is much faster data transfer rates and I use the firewire port on my Satellite.

  • What HARD drive max can I use satellite 3000 514

    Hey all,.

    What is usable by the 3000-514 maximum capacity hard drive. It comes standard with 20 GB but I can't find anything online that gives this information.

    Kind regards
    Samurai Sjakkie

    Hello

    I m not 100% sure but to my knowledge the BIOS of Satellite 3000 supports a limitation of the HARD drive and you can only use the IDE 2.5 ", 9.5 mm HDD s up to 30 GB.
    Seems that BIOS will not recognize large s 30 GB HARD drive!

    I found this info somewhere in the internet. But you know the guy. These are only suggestions. If you wish, you can try any other disk HARD s i.e. 40 or 60 GB. It would be interesting to know if the HARD disk is running or not. Are you referring to the merchant of HARD drive if it of possible to test some HARD drive sizes!

    If you have more information, please report it here! Thank you ;) see you later

  • Acer 6935G: taken max supported capacity of the HARD drive?

    Hello

    The original WD 320 GB died in my old Acer 6935 g, I bought WD7500BPKX 750 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA 6.0 GB / s 2.5 "(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236561) for the replacement." But with this drive, the laptop started restarting after different periods of time. Question - is this ability to support? Googling the problem found that only 500 GB is taken in charge information. Maybe it is connected to the power consuming too, but I would just do not forget that the HARD disk controller is supported by this player.

    Thanks in advance

    I can tell you that we shipped this system with 120 GB of hard drives of 320.

    The system chipset is Chipset Mobile Intel® GM975/PM975 Express.

    Unfortunately, due to the age of the system, this is all the information I have.

    I don't see that we have tested all additional hard drives in the system.

  • XPS 435 t/9000 Max size of the hard drive?

    Hello

    I have a XPS 435 t/9000.

    I currently have two, 1 to SATA HDD and need for additional storage space.

    There is a 3rd available Bay, a connector available on the motherboard and the power available.

    Reference Dell tells me the motherboard is a Microstar International X501H and the motherboard will limit myself to a 1 TB drive.

    HOWEVER, I found several online vendors that sell to larger capacity of disks and state that they will work on this machine.

    I will ONLY use the 3rd disc as a data reader and will not boot from it.

    Can someone tell me DEFINITELY HARD drive supported (data only mode) via the connector on the motherboard.

    IN ADDITION,.

    Are there options to add a new HARD disk controller to an expansion slot?  (I have no slots half remaining due to other small improvements).  I need all THE details on what I did not research on this yet.

    Thank you very much!

    INTEL RST less than 10.1 DOES NOT support greater than 2 TB.

    Intel RST RAID DOES NO more than Volumes Raid 2 to support.

    You cannot use the last 11 12 13 14 versions of INTEL RST with older Chipsets.
