  • I have about 14 000 songs in my library, about 4 copies of each of them. Try to remove duplicates, but can only do one at a time. I spent many hours, check all the files I want to delete only to find out that I can't delete them both?

I have about 14 000 songs in my iTunes library, but really there are only about a quarter as much because there are so many duplicates. I don't know how they got there in the first place, and try to remove them is infuriating! I have already spent several hours going by checking all the files I want to remove (thinking that I would delete then all files at once) - only to find out that I still have to delete them one at a time. There must be a better way! Help, please.

If you don't know that you want to delete all checked the songs in your library:

    • Create a new smart playlist with the following rules:

This will show then checked all the songs in your library.
    • Select all the items in this playlist (Ctrl-A)
    • Hold the SHIFT key and press DELETE - follow the prompts to remove songs from your library and (if necessary) your PC media files

In case of problem, you must back up your library before you do just in case the results are not what you expect - see tips to the user of turingtest2 on your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy to backup library for a suitable and recommended method.

There is no 'simple' way to reliably remove duplicates from a library, but see the intelligence in this threadon the use of a scripted for removal of duplicates (for example).

Long-term, try and avoid adding anything in your iTunes library that already exists in it - that's how arise the duplicates (unlike an opinion apparently dispersed, iTunes not of is duplicate anything in normal operation).  I've seen several comments suggesting here a few users to correctly copy their library from an old computer to a new one and then add the content of its media files - guaranteed way to finish with a copy of database entries or media files.

  • What is the order of the removal of the songs to an iPod Classic syncing > somehow my laptop has started the process of synchronization without my knowledge and removed approximately 2,000 songs of my iPod classic.  How can I identify which were delete

What is the order of the removal of the songs to an iPod Classic syncing > somehow my laptop has started the process of synchronization without my knowledge and removed approximately 2,000 songs of my iPod classic.  How can I identify which were deleted songs?  I always manually move files to prevent this.  I'm on Windows 10.

Has no way to know that...

If your library iTunes music fits on the storage space of 160 GB of your iPod classic, you just set to automatically sync your entire library of music.  Then, it won't matter which has been removed and which do not get deleted, because your iPod music library is the same as your library iTunes music.  And iTunes it keeps this way, every time your iPod connection (or click sync , if already connected).

If you don't want "everything" in your iTunes library on your iPod (understandable), you can create a playlist in your iTunes library with all the songs you want on the iPod.  Then, set to automatically synchronize the playlist to iPod.  Instead of manually managing iPod, you manually manage playlist in your iTunes library.  The iPod has no need to be connected.  The next time you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected), iTunes will update the iPod with the same changes.  The big advantage is, if something happens like what you describe, or needs to restore iPod (erased) or even if break you your iPod (and get a new), need you a few mouse clicks to solve the problem.  Just set it up to sync the same playlist once again, which exists in your library iTunes (not only on the iPod).

You can post back for more information about how to use automatic synchronization to do what you want more easily, go ahead.

  • I'm subscribed to iTunes game because I saw: "up to 100 000 songs and I 53 000 songs, why do I only have access to 19 000 songs with iTunes game."

My computer is allowed and I left it on for the download for a week straight. Can anyone help?

When I signed up initially with a limit of 25% of the current limit it took about a week to get 1/2 not quite my 21 000 titles. At that time, nothing seemed to be happening so I restarted and everything, but about 300 titles. Many of these 300 titles were old tears and were not enough high-quality instant messaging to mess with. I selected each of them and a iTunes again snatch with high throughput and possibly those who were also. So for approximately 21 000 titles took a little over 2 weeks, a few reboots and some massaging from the air.

When Apple has increased the limit I joined my two catalogs (I am separated from popular music and jazz/big my group preferred the rest) not give me enough of 60,000 titles. Once again he propped up and synchronized to a large group... Rinse and repeat... Now I have everything synced but I'm now checking iTunes actually properly matched. Initially, I had a large enough number of tracks that IM fumbled on. In some cases own versions were subbed to not clean, sometimes it's the other way around. And then there were huge mistakes like 1/2 a 60s folk CD is put in correspondence with the hip hop. Not a happy surprise

  • ALAC songs do not sync for iPhone

    7. more than 256 GB iPhone

    iOS 10.0.2

    10 Pro 64 bit Windows

    iTunes 12.5.1.21

Because I have the 256 GB iPhone, my intention was to fill this space with music files without loss. Were rip CDs to the ALAC format using dbPowerAmp. Apple Lossless, default profile.

I've tested this two days ago with just a few files and everything works great.

Today, I'm unable to transfer these files to the iPhone during synchronization. I put all those I want in a playlist, then checked the as a playlist to sync with the phone.

During synchronization, he dies in the first file to be copied. 'Copy 1 of 728...' and it just is there forever. I thought that maybe there was a problem with an individual file, I have so removed that out of the list, try to synchronize again, same result.

At this point, sync just seems to "freeze". Hit the little 'x' to stop synchronization doing nothing. I need to unplug the phone so that it can synchronize.

Have restarted the PC, phone rebooted but still get the same result.

What could I do it wrong?

    Thank you

Update - it seems to work now, but I deleted all THE music from the phone and started around. As I have now 10,000 songs to synchronize again, I hope I won't have to do it several times.

  • iTunes won't sync all my songs

    Hello

I just got myself a iPhone 7 128 gb phone after having a 5 for 4 years or more. I spent Saturday setting up using iTunes, but I am now find just some of my songs do not play on my iPhone, which I think should be reduced to a problem of sync. Now as a first step, synchronization and implementation of backup process took approximately 8 hours at night. It is perhaps down to my laptop (Windows 10) or the fact that I have over 9,000 songs put out there. I had this problem in the past, but now some of my most listened songs, who previously, I have not had problems with, do not play on the phone.

So, after that sync the first time, I got an error pops up saying that some songs may not be synchronized, so I tried again and again and this number of songs got more smaller and smaller each time, BUT some of the songs never appear on this list and may not always be played on the phone. It's very strange and I can't just make drag the unit. My iTunes has 9415 songs but my camera has only said 8971 (excessive in both cases, I know).

Frustrating is that songs that lack seem to be ones I particularly want to listen for some reason, i.e. those maybe I listened mainly just before moving on to the iPhone 7, but is not limited to these songs. When I click on my device on iTunes and click 'Music', these songs play here either, but appear different songs around them or display errors. Play these songs in iTunes that is normal in the library.

I have updated to iOS 10.0.2 and iTunes is 12.5.1.

I write here before going through the agony of pulling all the songs off the unit and restore.

    Please can someone help?

    Thank you

    Mike

The following steps should help with the erratic behavior of synchronization, including the formidable gray traces with dotted circles. They assume that all the content you want on the device in your lending library for the restoration. If not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything off of the camera, if you have not already.

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

Use a backup encrypted if you want to keep passwords, wi - fi settings, history and health web data as appropriate.

  • Add track numbers to songs

My iTunes has more 9 000 songs. Before the music of Apple, I would like to remove track numbers. (Currently the time I was 13, soi for thought that was ok) I have about 7 000 songs without track numbers. Now that I have the Apple music, any of my previously download music aligns to the top. Anyone know of a way to quickly download the track number information? I remember iTunes at some point, have a 'get track information' function but I can't find not long ago. Help me its driving me crazy when I download playlist and songs that I already have are added because it thinks that it is not in my itunes.

File > library > get track names, but it will only help if you ripped the CD with the same library that you are currently using. If you have copied and pasted or deleted and imported, then you're probably out of luck.

  • How many songs can be store in an IPod touch 64GB?

How many songs can be store in an IPod touch 64GB?

If you want to just load up on music and do not load on apps and leave about 4 GB of free space for a reliable operation of iOS and depending on the quality of encoding, compression of data or not, of anywhere, at least 4000 songs and, eventually, up to perhaps 8 000 songs or, approx.

My new, 6th gen iPod Touch, 64 GB of storage (56 GB of usable storage space) has my music library complete on this subject with about 2000 songs that use 16 GB of storage on my device

I use the best encoding settings formats AIFF or Apple Lossless quality.

I have about 23 GB of free storage space.

So I wouldn't be able to get up for another 2500 songs or so, if I use another 20 GB of free space for the music, for a CA.  total of 4500 songs.

I almost 20 000 thousand songs downloaded from my collection CD and on ITunes which is on my laptop.  However, I do not want to load all these songs on my IPad.  The songs I transfer from my laptop and on my IPad not always appears on the list albums on my IPad.  For some reason any I can find the songs in 'Song' database of the IPad, but it can take forever to find a song, especially if I don't remember the title of the song.  Can someone explain what I do not correctly which prevents the albums to be listed on my IPad, especially when I see clearly that the album is in the list of songs?

    Thanks for your help.

    20,000 songs?

It is very likely that there is not enough storage space on your iPad for many songs.

  • Download protected songs from iTunes to amazon Cloud

I try to download music songs Amazon the Amazon Cloud so I can read on my echo from amazon, and amazon tap.  I noticed that some songs don't upload.  I think these are the songs that were sold between Apple iTunes as a "protected" files Is there a way to get around this?  I have almost 2,000 songs that I won't be able to play on my amazon products.  Help!

    Hello

You can not download files iTunes protected at Amazon. You can only remove DRM by subscribing to iTunes game, even if you find that some tracks will not be upgraded. An alternative is to burn the audio CD tracks, but given the number of securities concerned, it would not.

  • remove the correct version of the song

my itunes is on a PC.  I recently discovered that I had two or three copies of a song, many songs.  When I go to remove duplicates, I get a message when I try to play the copy rest that it can not be found.  How to remove duplicates without deleting the actual song?

    Hi SureniWonder,

I understand that you see a few duplicates of your songs on your iTunes library and want to slightly reduce duplicates. I have some information for you that will help you accomplish this. First, here's an Apple Support article on a built-in feature of iTunes that will help you duplicate addresses:

Find and remove duplicated in your iTunes - Apple Support library items

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201812

You can also find additional help in this thread of Apple support communities, dealing with a user who knows problems similar to yours:

How can I remove duplicate 11 000 songs? Apple support communities

If you happen to decide to use a third-party app to help you solve this problem, you can find the information in this useful stuff as well:

Hope this information helps you solve your iTunes duplicates. Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

  • Why all the songs in a playlist transfer to a device

I have several playlist I made and when I sync a device not all transfer of songs. For example, I have a list of game named Fire Pit and on my desktop it says there are 1 084 songs and the same playlist synchronized my iPhone 6 with says there are 916. I have more 6 000 songs in iTunes and have literally spent HOURS creating multiple playlists and you can only imagine my frustration with this problem! Any advice will be greatly appreciated

The following steps should resolve things assuming that all of the content you want in your library.

(If it is not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device).

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

The pictures of your camera should be saved and restored, although you should be copying these shut down manually on a regular basis for security.

NB. A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. You can however download past purchases to iTunes and/or to activate Automatic app downloads buy to make sure iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. Another change to the way the restorations are implemented means that all private data app is restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting for download on the iTunes Store on Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works. Not having apps in your library is not the disadvantage that it once was, but you're still at risk of losing a favored app if it is removed from the Bank and you don't have a local copy.

  • unconscious local copies of the songs iTunes

I have over 12,000 songs in my iTunes library, which also houses the library music to iCloud and synchronized between my devices. On a Mac, the entire library is already downloaded and resides in the folder that is selected in the media folder in iTunes. Everything is set up correctly, and everything has been fine. Now, for some reason, most of the songs have the symbol of the cloud in iTunes, which indicates that they are only in iCloud, which is obviously not true. If I tell iTunes to download, the new copies are created in the same folder. Same file name with '1' added. Is there anything I can do to iTunes aware that the files are already there? I can go and reassociate a song with his file, but I must do this for each song in turn, which is obviously not a solution. I guess I can also delete and redownload everything, but if there is a better way, I would be happy to hear about it.
