8.1 Win refresh on a XPS8500 victory 8.0 OEM & MS store 8.1 free update

I need to refresh or reset/reinstall Win 8.1 on my PC. It came with 8.0 installed and the key is in the UEFI firmware. I have updated the free system to 8.1 via D/L the Windows store. Now I need to win 8.1 to refresh. The two MS & Dell Technical Support told me that it's the other problem with companies. I'm disappointed that Win 8 has a feature to refresh but it is unusable at the minute, I put far to 8,1. My attempts to d/l an ISO 8.1 MS to do a refresh were unsuccessful and neither MS or Dell is ready to help. Someone at - it solution or do I just have to do with a discount to zero/reinstall?

If you want to restore the machine back to factory condition using the recovery image, the only way to do that using Dell backup and recovery that you can download from the dell support site. If you install it, you can get an external USB bootable recovery tool which allows you, as well as the recovery complete machine. However, since your machine comes with Win8 it is the recovery image you will get. I updated my XPS8500 8.1 the same way you did, but have not tested recovery. There has been changes between 8 and 8.1. and you can't use the image 8 to repair an installation of 8.1. I'm doing the same thing, for a new xps8700 which has 8.1 installed, I used software Lsoft.net DiskImage, which worked until 8.1 and it damaged my layout of the partition. I was able to retrieve the machine using the Dell backup and recovery described above, I will now download a version of Symantec Recovery Desktop, which has been updated to 8.1

I need the security updates after this date for Dell M6300 (Business / Govt.) laptop. Is there a new OS MS (Vista, Win 7?) that runs on the machine Core Duo T7500 w / 2 GB SDRAM. We are currently in the final phase of support for Windows XP. It is called "extended support". As you can see on this page:

  • What is the difference between win 7 pro DSP OEI DVD and the OEM or normal Full pack?

    1. What is the difference between win 7 pro DSP OEI DVD and the pack OEM or normal Full we learned normally?
    2. does DSP OEI DVD comes with CD of instalation?

These versions are for small integrators (DSP = 'partners in enforcement service'), which usually contain a single Windows (1pk = 32-bit or 64-bit, not both as in commercial versions) and an OEM preinstallation kit to preconfigure Windows and/or integrate additional tools (OEI = 'Installation of Original equipment' or 'Integration organizational environment'). They have the same limitations that versions OEM = license is tied to the computer where the operating system has been installed initially and not transferable in case of death of the machine. • win 10 free update

is it a partitioned factory laptop with win 7 home 64-bit and win7 pro upgrade online code be overwritten with win10 so factory reset will return os to win 10 from the initial upgrade or factory reset will return as before to win 7 home and online to the code for win7 pro level? and then upgrade to win 10 again? , or ideally upgrade will have options as to how win10 upgrade is used?

It should not touch your Windows 7 original factory restore partition. But its best play win by making a backup of Windows 7 Image on an external USB drive. If you have any questions any you can always restore Windows 7, your applications and data files as they were before the upgrade.  Also, note that a factory restore back Windows just the way it was when you first received it, all the apps of your installation and your data files will be lost.

How can I get this upgrade? Installation stops at 54% whenever I try. What's wrong? I get these messages: 0xc190010b and 0x8007001f, especially the last e.

    Hi months

Googling around you will find a lot of comments and discussions on this topic. Obviously a lot of people have the same problem with the Win8.1 update.
I found very interesting explanation and I want happened here for you. Test it.

Try to disconnect all external devices and make sure that you have installed all the updates of Windows including the driver in option and the updates of the firmware.

    Method 1:
If you have installed a third party such as antivirus/firewall program security software, they can interfere with the installation. I suggest to temporarily disable and check if you are able to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I you suggest to start the computer in a clean boot state and then try to upgrade to Windows 8.1.
A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts and determine what is the cause of the problem. Perform a clean boot on the computer by following the steps in the link:

How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista

  • Replace with Win 7 32 bit XP Mode using the oem license key?

We have some old software that requires a 32 bit OS.  There is no way around that it will never support 64 bit, but must use it occasionally.

Currently, we run with XP Mode installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  As Microsoft ends support XP on April 8, 2014, we want to move a virtual machine to Windows 7 32 bit.

Is it acceptable to use the same license key OEM on the bottom of the laptop to install Windows 7 32 - bit in Virtual PC instead of the XP Mode or do we need to buy more licenses of Windows 7?

Windows Virtual PC can be used independently of Windows XP Mode, but as noted, if you use another version of Windows such as Windows 7 32 bit, you will need to purchase an additional license. The license at the bottom of your laptop is already linked to the host machine on which it is installed.

  • Download a full Win 7 HP 32 since I own an OEM disc, have a product key, but a defective DVD player?

    Hello

I downloaded an .iso of Digital River with the USB tool. However the file .iso image for the version of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, I seems to be upgraded only.
I bought an OEM drive (since I only wanted 1 license, to use on a computer and it's custom built). Although the computer is 2 years and my DV player became defective. I currently installed Ubuntu and the drive works perfectly the Ubuntu Live CD, but it will not boot the Windows 7 disc.

Running the version of USB works fine, but can not install because it provides the possibility to opt, and since Ubuntu takes my hard drive, I can't do anything more.

So is it possible to download a full version .iso file?
Of course, I can prove that my case is real by bringing my key (obviously not here) and even a proof of purchase.

I don't want to have to resort to torrents and also not spend more money buy from Microsoft Web site.

(Note: the disc is not defective, because it works in my friends laptop (started, but not install it))

If you are installing on a Linux disk, your only option would be to format the drive.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

  • HP Touchsmart 23-d055: do I need a new recovery disk after upgrade to Windows 10?

I upgraded my 2 years, HP Touchsmart in Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 for Windows 10. It took me 6 hours to run all of these updates.

Now, HP Support Assistant keeps reminding me to create an image of system recovery. But when I run the recovery media creation utility, it warns me that he goes back to the original operating system (Win8). Is it possible to create a recovery image system for my machine on Windows 10?

I know that Windows 10 now has an automatic recovery partition. But I am concerned by the failure of the disk, which would make this unnecessary partition. Last year, when I've upgraded to win 8.1, I had an alteration of the disc that has occurred without known reason. I lost everything on the PC and to restore Win 8, and I've never touched the PC up to 10 Windows free update is out.

I created a USB Win8 recovery disk when I got the machine. This is my only alternative? I suppose that if I ran the recovery media creation utility, it would recreate just the same.

BTW, I know that HP has here a document, but it does on computers provided with Windows installed 10.

Thank you for your help and experience.

Since no one has replied with an answer to my question, I've finally worked it on my own. I learned that you cannot make a new recovery disk system after the upgrade to Windows 10, if you had already created one when you got your machine under Windows 8.x

Context: after upgrade to Windows 10, the HP Support Assistant kept prompting me to create a system recovery disk.  I did one when I got the machine 2 years with Win8.  I didn't replace my original recovery disk, so I went out and got a new 16GB USB flash drive. When I inserted this new drive and attempted to create a recovery disk, the PC told me I couldn't do one, because you are allowed to make a recovery disc by PC.

So it was kind of stupid that after completing the upgrade of Windows 10, HP Support Assistant tells people to do. It should just check itself and see if a disc has already been done. All this anguish for nothing!
