8.1 Windows auto start program set up to two monitors

Recently, I created a task to automatically open certain programs when I connect. However, I have several screens and I want programs appears in specific locations. Reading several posts on how to solve the problem, however none of them extend or are easy to understand. Know that I can just move every time but it's looks like an easy to assign such task. Also please do not respond to open and close the program. It works sometimes, but I want multiple programs to open in multiple areas. Here you can click with the right button on the frame and lock its position only by default when it starts.

Hello

Unfortunately, this feature is not available on windows 8.1 and you will not be able to customize the desktop to display the icons on specific points. Use your search engine preferred to find the third-party software that will help you to achieve this functionality.

Note: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Use of third party software is at your own risk.

  • Hidden auto start programs

To day running 32 bit Windows 7 Professional with an administrator account. When connecting, I have several programs running through the registry (HCU and HLM) or in the all users start menu (Nothing in the user menu). However, I also three programs that run on login that appear here. Two of them, I'm fine with, but the third is getting boring.

As one of the three is Outlook, it is not difficult to try to identify or to search automatically the name of program among the normal sections to run programs and I ran through msconfig and "Autoruns for Windows" without success. Beyond digging by the registry for all instances of outlook.exe where could it be?

If this can help as memory serves that Windows asked me if I wanted to do a default Outlook startup program, and I said yes wasn't expecting to slide into an inaccessible corner until now or I'm not looking for a batch file.

Oh and it isn't a "run when connecting because it was open to the stop/restart" is as I manually stopped each time and it still keeps reappear or y at - it an option for "run at startup" in the program. Even if it was that I'd always be interested know where is stored outlook starts.

Here's some more major keys that can be used:

    1. check all keys \run, \runonce, \runservices and \runservicesonce (not all of them will be necessarily present).

2 HKLM Winlogon, Userinit. This indicates that the program C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe, and the entry ends with a comma. Other programs can be started from this key by adding and separated by a comma. Malware sometimes uses this key.

    3 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify

This key is used to add a program that runs when a specific event occurs. When Winlogon.exe generates an event, Windows will search the key Notify for a DLL to handle this event. Malware sometimes uses this key.

  • stopping a program form auto lance or even from auto-start

I don't know how to stop an automatic launch or block a part of auto start when programs start in the system put in place. Can you help me?

    Hello oldestbottle,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

The easy way in Windows Vista to display startup items, go to the Control Panel, programs and use Windows Defender to display under the Software Explorer startup items.
Click change startup programs. This will display the list of programs, you can change and remove the starter.
To determine if an item is needed or not, you can select the item, and then click on disable.

You can also use msconfig to remove the startup items.
    ·       Click Start on your desktop
    ·       Type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
Click the Startup tab, and you can uncheck the items you want to no longer start.

I hope this helps answer your question.

My PC is slow because of programs that run on Auto Start Up, I don't know which programs are safe disable?

    Original title: Performance

    Hello

None of them being there but be careful about disabling antivirus/security
programs. You may need to disable those while troubleshooting.

You can use these to control which startup programs. Many who install it themselves in
Startup is really useless to be here. As Acrobat Reader (Adobe), WinAmp Agent,.
and many other who are responsible for pieces themselves start more quickly (not a question on today)
the machines) and to be sure that they can control the files they support (to make sure you continue
just use). Those who are examples only common and not designed as a slam on those
    programs very well.

    Hello

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft community forums!
It seems that the computer is slow after installing the emulator DOSBox BACK. Don't worry, try the suggestions and check if it has speed up the computer.

What virus protection software is installed on the computer?

To solve the "'these startup programs are causing windows to start slowly ' error, try the methods"

    Method 1:
Unplug external devices attached to the computer and then restart the computer and check the performance of the computer

    Method 2:
Step 1: Check if the problem occurs in safe mode:

  • Word, Excel and Chrome all auto start to connect on my macbook pro.  I don't want these programs to autostart.  How to disable that?

When I connect to my macbook pro, Word, Excel and Chrome all automatically load and the beginning and they are VERY slow and slow accessability to something else after I have connection.  I don't want one of these auto-start.  I'll start them if I need them.  I looked on the application's preferences, but also Apple settings and can not find any place to turn off this action.  I don't have this box controlled displays for office ("start connecting").  Any help to stop this would be appreciated.  Using the latest version of El Capitan. Thank you

Do not simply close their windows. Choose EXIT their menus. If they were all off at the stop, they should not re-launch at startup.

But if you simply close they windows, they are still worn running. next time you start, it will be open again.

    Hello

    ·         What operating system is installed on your system?

If you are using Windows XP and programs are not listed when you click Start, and then you can perform the scan SFC to solve the problem.

SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC /scannnow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.

  • How to set up the Windows network access program?

How to access my windows network access program

    Hi bryan stacy,.

-Are you talking about in the center of network share or the network connection folder?

If you are referring to the network connection folder, see the following link for more information:
  • After Windows Update: Start, taskbar, toolbar, tools, etc., have disappeared. Disabled Task Manager, programs don't run, etc, etc.

My multi-monitor desktop Win XP through a long Windows update yesterday. Starting this morning, button bar and try to start at the bottom of the screen are no longer present. My table of multi-monitor configuration has changed radically in view/settings. All the tabs on the Task Manager are missing - with the exception of the processes tab. All keyboard and mouse commands have been disabled. To restart, I had to unplug the computer from power. Restart twice again obtained the same results. As there was no apparent way to start programs and features in Windows (Control Panel, Windows Explorer, Manager tasks, etc.) I resorted to a Safe Mode system restore after snatching the lead for the third time.

It seems that a system restore is the only cure for this, and I started this operation. Updates of various sellers require me to use to restore the system several times each month.  I learned to fear the automatic updates for fear that they will cost hours and days of recovery since the "cure" for other ailments that are not obvious to me. The last update all deleted antivirus controls volume and their icons. I have still not got their back. But I digress...
    My questions:
    What I've done wrong?
    Should I disable updates?
How can I make sure that the updates stop disabling my computer?
What are your recommendations to repair the damage?
    Thank you.

    Hi Craig,.

Follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I would say you turn off the automatic updates (not recommended however) and install the updates manually ensuring that you will refrain from any installation problem causing updates unless it says "important updates.

    a. log in Windows XP to your administrator account. Click 'Start', then right-click "My computer" and select "Properties".
    b. Select the "Automatic updates" tab and then click on "Turn off automatic updates."
    c. click 'OK' to turn off the automatic updates.

    Step 2:

You can also test the issue in a State of clean boot in safe mode (after installing updates).

Note: Don't forget to restart your computer as usual.
