RForgiven wrote: I got my office for a year and I would like to activate Microsoft Office 2007 pre-installed by entering my product key but the # at the bottom of my computer appears as 'wrong' suggestions?

Hello RForgiven, normally when HP or any OEM Microsoft Office load on a system, and you want to use this Office Suite, you are required to buy the product key for installation.

If you have purchased the Microsoft Office Suite when you purchased the system, you would have shipped a product key in the transmission of your new system.

Usually, manufacturers never put a product key on the system case as they would the product key for the operating system.

    Just some thoughts.

That means that I have to load Vista on the new hard drive, and then update? Both for the end user (paying customer) hostile.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • HP 14 - n018us: license key for Windows 8

Once I have replace the hard drive in my laptop, I have a Windows 10 ISO DVD to install Windows. Microsoft requires that I have the license key for Windows 8 that came with the laptop to provide the free update for Windows 10. Where can I find the license key for the Windows 8 that came with the HP laptop. It is currently being upgraded to Windows 10 and current hard drive works fine. I want to replace it with a SSD and clean install of Windows 10

    Hello:

If you have already upgraded to W10, and it has been successfully activated, everything you need to do is clean the W10 installation media with installation you have created.

When you get to the Setup screen, you will be prompted to enter a product key or the choice to click on "I don't have a product key."

You select the option "I don't have a product key" and W10 install and reactivate automatically, because it has already been legally installed on your laptop.

I had to do it on a couple of PC where I reinstalled it W10 - both when I changed the mechanical drives to SSD.

How to recovery code product key

(Required for installation) Windows 25-character product key isn't on the installation CD in any way, shape, or form.  If it is a retail license, the product key is stored on the CD packaging on a bright orange sticker that says: "Don't lose this number."  If it's an OEM license (factory installed), it is stored on a label that the PC manufacturer affixed outside your box, or on the bottom of your laptop.

To restore a lost product key:

If your system is still running, you should be able to use Belarc Advisor from http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html to find the product key.  (If you have an OEM factory-installed license and have not reinstalled from the OS, the product key revealed is probably the disk image used at the factory and not your specific product key, therefore it probably impossible - and certainly should not be - used for re-installation.)

    Hello

You will need to purchase a license/disk/upgrade Windows 7 product key.

Microsoft sells more Windows 7 and you would have to buy from Amazon, etc.

There was a free upgrade offer, but it expired a long time ago:

"The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Windows 7 upgrade Option program works on June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option. »

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I regret to say that it seems that installation is a counterfeit.

The motherboard seems to be an a detail - the key used OEM_SLP is one for the Asus computer.

There is no SLIC table in BIOS (as it should be in any computer with Windows OEM pre-installed)

The machine was sent for repair to anyone? -replacement motherboard could cause these problems.

In view of the fact that you do not find a COA sticker, I guess the original installation was a fake, but it was only discovered by a need to validate the system.

The only real options are either to buy a complete package of legal retail for Vista Ultimate and use the key for this to make the authentic system. or to buy a pack of Win7 full detail to any edition of Windows is going to suit your friend and then clean install that (after you back up all data from external storage).

Note that in most circumstances, it would be useless for your friend to have a full edition of Vista or Win7 - at most, professional would be the natural choice, but it is likely that home Premim would do perfectly well, unless your friend has specific programs that require a higher edition.

After a few problems which included the same office not loading, we have reformatted it and used Windows Vista Basic Home Edition because the CD with our Dell Inspiron 6000 had compatible drivers for Vista. Now the problem is 30 days elapsed is activation thing and now my computer is in reduced functionality mode (I had no idea it would happen). Windows does not accept the product key for XP. What should I do now?

You need a valid product key for Vista - Vista product you purchased should have (but it seems that you did not actually buy a Vista product for the PC).  If you used a Vista CD from another computer that doesn't have that Vista is installed, you cannot use this product key the key can be used on one computer at a time.  You need to buy a disc of Installation of Vista with a product key (or just a product key valid).  Frankly, I don't know where you can get one of those these days.  Microsoft Store is not wearing it.

The only other choice is to reinstall XP. Contact the manufacturer and they may be able to sell the recovery disc for a small fee and you can use those with the product key of Xp on the computer to restore the conditions of the factory as a Xp computer.

Sorry we can not help you more, but these are the options.  You can try searching Google and Bing for people selling copies of Vista (but don't forget that they are copies of the retail and not OEM copies - or even with the product key they selll you you will not be able to activate because and OEM license is only good on the computer on which the software has been installed initially and cannot be transferred to any other computer).

    Good luck!
